  1. I've came to the conclusion that I don't really care about the actual contents of a match anymore. At least not as it pertains to WWE. I care about who wins but other than that, the only thing that matters to me is the characters and the storyline. I've really got into the Mickie/Trish storyline. Although the skit last night was pretty hokey, I've enjoyed the past advancement. I'll admit, when the feud first started, the only reason I cared was because they were both hot and were showing a lot of ass. Literally. Now, though, it's actually pretty enthralling. I think that explains why I've never really liked Benoit. He's boring to me. He can certainly bring it in the ring but in WWE, I need more than that. When I just want to watch matches, I buy an ROH DVD or download some Puro. I think it's also part of the reason why I've become so disenchanted with the TNA product. Yeah, they can put on good matches. Their PPVs are usually fabulous. I need substance though. I was a reason to watch every week.
  2. Eh, honestly, the way I see it, they'll just change the name of OVW to ECW to maybe increase some viewership. Of course it's not going to be the same as ECW used to be. ECW is dead and gone. Also, the Sandman might be terrible but he's one of the faces of ECW, so you have to have him around.
  3. You know, honestly, with the announcement of ECW supposedly coming back and now Brock's lawsuit getting settled, this has actually been a pretty significant wrestling news week. So, why don't I care about any of the stories? Shit, the ECW thing should've been big news.
  4. Batista. I've liked the matches that AJ has churned out more, because he's worked guys like Samoa Joe, Christopher Daniels, American Dragon, etc. Batista actually made me care about Smackdown for awhile. That's saying something. I liked his character. He was this big, monsterous beast...but he was kindof like the Hulk in that he had to get upset for the beast to come out. Outside of matches, he's this funny, subtle, sharp-dressing, laid back dude. It's comedy. I hate Styles' character. He's like a christian prep with a southern drawl but I'm supposed to cheer for him? I hated preps in high school, why should I like Styles? Because he's athletic? So is everyone else in the X-Division.
  5. No, that's not true. The second night of Kobashi in ROH, the teams had to pretty much go against the booking of the company because Low Ki spoke Japanese and Homicide didn't. At least that's what I was told.
  6. ...are you asking me because I'm a Triple H mark. I want to see Angle, Mysterio & The Undertaker again. I want to see MNM. Hell, my cable provider doesn't even carry UPN, I have to download Smackdown to watch it and I don't like doing that. Besides, I think the undercard would be better if the split ended. There's a lot of midcarders on Smackdown (Burchill, Finlay, etc.) that I'd like to see mix up with the Raw midcarders (RVD, Carlito). ...and I'd be OK with that because half of them shouldn't have jobs.
  7. Where does the Great Muta fit into all of this? He wrestled in the States and in Japan, so does he have his own category or something?
  8. I still want the split to end altogether. I know the negatives, I just don't care. I'm a greedy fan and want it all.
  9. See, I still like Savage/Steamboat but I think the match would've been better without the Animal Steele drama. Just the dropping of Steamboats neck on the railing with the double-ax and the IC title on the line were enough for me.
  10. I was actually thinking about two or three weeks ago that a fourth man was going to be added to the mix. I was expected the whole HBK gets involved to get the D-X reunion started and possibly change the match to a tag match or a four way. WWE went with a tag match with God instead.
  11. Sek, on what page did your shit start to happen on the DVDVR thread? I don't want to have to register just to shut off signatures. EDIT: Fuck it, I registered anyway.
  12. I'll be damned if that new Motorhead King of Kings songs isn't catchy though.
  13. I was reading the DVDVR forums for, maybe the second time in my life because I wanted to check out the drama of Sek's continual suspension. That being said, I'm actually entertained by the Batista Vs. Styles thread. Granted the people don't go into great detail, for the most part, of why the voted the way they did and I'm still only on the first page, however thus far it's enjoyable. It did make me think though. What's Batista's best match? He had three matches with Hunter. He had a tag match with Orton & Flair against Rock & Foley. He had a couple matches with Jericho on Raw. A bad match with JBL. I just can't really think of anything that stood out. Off the top of my head, I'd probably say his Hell in a Cell match with Hunter. Is there a big match that I'm forgetting?
  14. There were more DX shenanigans if you watch the Backlash press conference on WWE.com.
  15. I know he's one of your favorite wrestlers, Loss, and he can certainly sell and put over a storyline in a match. He certainly got megaton heat. So, where's Michael "P.S." Hayes?
  16. I didn't expect it to be perfect because obviously Stuff isn't trying to target wrestling fans however, Carl Ouellette didn't play the Mountie, Jacque Rougeau did.
  17. Trish has never stopped looking good, she just doesn't dress as provocative as she used too since she started wrestling. She wears pants and tops that have a less likely chance to have a "waldrobe malfuction" since she's wrestling weekly. So, when she does wear something to show off her ass or whatever, people are like "oh, I forgot...damn." Whereas someone like Torrie Wilson is always hanging out, so people get used to it and it's not special anymore.
  18. EDIT: Double post. I've been having a lot of problems with NMB lately. Loading issues and what have you.
  19. I can't get over Meltzer saying both Money in the Bank was better than Foley/Edge and that Trish carried Mickie in their match.
  20. As stupid as referring to a professional wrestler as a "n00b?" We're talking about WWE here, not a random internet Counterstrike player. I actually have come around on Orton. I like Masters. I'm even somewhat high on Carlito lately. Yet, when I go back and watch old tapes, I notice that a lot of my favorite wrestlers; age was the last thing on my mind. Hell, the majority of the guys that I liked would probaby catch shit today for not being some young up-and-comer. Age didn't matter back then like it does now. No one questioned age when Ron Bass was stabbing people in the face with a spur. Look at some of the bigger names in Japan. If they can still go in the ring, the age doesn't matter. If they can't still go? Then it matters. Here, in the States, it seems like once you reach a certain age...that's it. Thanks for coming out. You're dead to the internet. I think that's also part of the reason why we keep getting "youngest World Champion ever!" and all these other monikers that mean dick-all.
  21. Couldn't we argue the same for Orton?
  22. That's not stopped a lot of WWE workers before. Heidenreich and Nathan Jones both come to mind, although I guess they were hosses.
  23. I don't understand why he couldn't just come out of the closet and then that be the end of it. Why does it have to become some overbearing focal point of his life? Nothing should've changed and instead he's making it out like everything has changed. OK, before Kanyon came out of the closet, he was a decent worker that put on decent matches and was pretty funny at times. Now, since he's come out of the closet, he is all "I'm gay, you're discriminating against me, blah, blah, blah." It's like he went down the Rosie O'Donnell path instead of the Ellen Degeneres path. He's coming off as fake. Woe is me. Pity me. It's gross. No one cares, Chris. You're gay, that's great. Get over yourself.
  24. Why can't they just call up Snuka Jr. call him Snuka Jr. and let him splash people off the top rope?
