Also, correction to what I said, Vince Sr didn't die until May 1984, but for all intents and purposes VKM was running the company by 1983 anyway.

I had worked out WWF loan bookings till December 31st. Here were the arrangements: Loan arrangements: Sgt. Slaughter - 7 dates [set for a run] Greg Valentine - 7 dates [set for a run] Larry Zbyszko - 7 dates [done] Tully Blanchard - 7 dates [nixed] Randy Savage - 7 dates [almost done] Roddy Piper - 7 dates [set for a run] Ted DiBiase - 5 dates [done] Dick Murdoch - 4 dates [done] Ric Flair - 1 date [scheduled 12/27/83] Steve Regal - 3 months (starting Jul 5th) Nick Bockwinkel - ongoing Don Muraco - 1 date [done] Dory Funk Jr - 10 dates [mid way through run] Vince McMahon Sr Developmental Scheme: Bret Hart - 3 months of TV tapings (starting Jul 5th) El Gran Hamada - 3 months of TV tapings (starting Jul 5th) Bobby Eaton - 3 months of TV tapings (starting Jul 5th) Tommy Rogers - 3 months of TV tapings (starting Jul 5th) Dr. Death Steve Williams - 3 months of TV tapings (starting Jul 5th) Renewals for these guys due in October. Since almost all of the deals in question have had promotions using dates on Andre already, I think they should be honoured regardless of who takes over. If WWF lost the runs of Valentine, Piper and Slaughter through the fall and into winter, the booking doesn't have many places it can go. It's been planned that way.

Guys, I think I'm going to have to pull out. Hopefully all dates on Andre and other existing deals are honoured. I said that Low Blow should take over WWF, because he's been booking it. But since I'm out of the game, that's not my fight. I had fun. This was an interesting experiment, hope people liked some of my shows. I'll be reading to see if Heenan and Bockwinkel ever gets their comeuppance.

So, much much better?

His best moment came when the fan attacked him at the cage match in MSG in 1988. His second best moment came at Royal Rumble 91 when he finally turned on Ted. The skits leading up to that turn were some of the darkest shit the WWF ever put out. Cleaning the fungus from between DiBiase's toes was so nasty and humiliating. Really quite on the line if you think about it. His third best moment came when he finally got the pin over Ted. He was not a very good worker. I also thought as a kid there was a disparity between how tough he looked and how wimpy he always turned out to be when he was the bodyguard.
-
He wouldn't send the whole crew, but he would have given guys shots. In terms of Low Blow, I don't think he's used anyone who didn't already have a deal in place to come in. Just so happens Ted's run coincided with him coming in as Booker.

When I talked to Tito Santana, who if you recall came up in Amarillo and San Antoine, he said that guys would dream of wrestling in the garden one day. Come on now. Don't talk rubbish.
-
Let's ring up Kevin Sullivan and ask him if he thinks an MSG billing was good exposure or not. Or any wrestler from that era.
-
I mean Christ, Larry Z made his entire career from the rep of having beat Bruno. And yes, including down south where you'd have us believe they don't give a rats ass about New York and turn their nose up at huge stars to book jobbers in the main event. Let's not talk about realistic please.
-
Apter mag coverage also. There is no planet in which you can think that an msg billing wasn't a big deal. That's why you got Dusty up there too. And Mil Mascaras. And Ernie Ladd. And Watts himself when he was active as a wrestler.
-
Because if you'd ever watched a second of Mid South, you'd know that Watts constantly harped on guys winning at MSG or "going up there and winning" etc.
-
Two things on this: 1. If you follow the angle, Dibiase's run had been set in stone from the start of the game pretty much, before Lowblow was even involved, and JYD had shots vs. Bock locked in too. 2. I think it's pretty realistic that if a Bill Watts came in to book for a month that he'd give some jobs to the boys. Every Booker had his own crew that he'd bring in. It would actually be realistic if you found more MSW guys on those cards, since Watts would be looking to give his talent exposure.
-
Should I leave the game, my strong preference is to leave WWF in the hands of Low Blow, for reasons of continuity and of being realistic. Vince Sr dies in October. The company is in Vince Jr's hands. He buys out Watts. Simple. There shouldn't be objections to that. Why should Low Blow get it? It's obvious, he was prepared to put in the time to book it while I was gone. We'll have to cross the bridge when it comes, but I feel pretty strongly that if I leave, Low Blow should inherent WWF to take it into the Vince Jr era.

Tenryu and Kawada both feel like "the Pepsi" to the Coca Cola of Jumbo / Misawa.

Flair's podcast (WOOOOONation)

The source for that stuff they were talking about was Kevin Sullivan as opposed to Jericho. -
Who are they?
-
Reading everyone's comments, it looks like I'm going to end up being the high vote on those "overrated", "boring" picks Flair and Jumbo.

There's footage of Lanza with a really young Heenan from Chicago in the 60s, the Fred Kohler promotion but I think from when Vince Sr was running it. There is also Blackjacks from 70s AWA footage. And from WWF. Heenan was always associated with them, but I think Captain Lou in New York. Lanza and Mulligan worked singles around the place more than you'd expect. For Race, see my microscope thread.

They actually mentioned Flair's US title runs on Night of the Chmapions and booked John Stewart to have Flair as his reason for the run in. The theory isn't just correct. It's demonstrably so.
-
Pretty incorrect.

Should be able to come in for a bit after the game. -
I'd just like to point out that every single part of this theory continues to hold up, even down to the fine details. JvK understands Vince.
