Draft discussion, analysis and trash talk
JerryvonKramer replied to Cross Face Chicken Wing's topic in The Archives
I have info on Ali Bey. I saw him crop up in Florida as a guy outside the ring in a lumberjack match. He isn't the Ali Bey of the 1930s. I'd love to pretend that I don't have an ongoing chat on Facebook where I took about stuff like this all the time with Kelly, but I'd be lying. I think we spent at least an hour looking up stuff about Ali Bey one night. -

I think what might not be appreciated, though, is that WWF was not a normal territory, it was more like a super territory. I am running four huge arenas every month, an operation in California, a regular smaller show loop. I need a lot of stars to headline a lot of shows. The loanees can cover the big shows, but I still needed viable main eventers for those smaller venues. As such, I am only NOW starting to look at the mid-card. On the one hand, a huge amount of the good mid-carders are gone. On the other, Vince Sr. sort of ran a weird operation where beyond Andre, the heel of the month, the IC champ and challenger and tag champs and challngers, it's literally a jump from there to Rick McGraw, Johnny Rodz, etc. In essence, there was no "mid-card" or if there was it was held up entirely by the tag title match. -

I think he's been severely undervalued by a lot here because he's a legit top talker (arguably GOAT contender), but then again he is more wholly associated with New York than almost anyone else I can think of. -
My pick is Jerry Brisco

I'd also really appreciate it if people don't discuss who I might be thinking about. Cheers. -

I will be pissed if I don't, this is the second 36-pick gap I've had to sit through, and I don't even get a double? -

Hold on, do I get a snake double pick? Please tell me I get one. And if not, why the fuck not? -
A condition of this deal is that the worker must be aged 27 or younger.

The WWF is currently listening to prospective offers for "The Bret Hart Developmental slot". See here for an example of schedule: http://prowrestlingonly.com/index.php?/topic/31219-world-wrestling-federation/?p=5676949 The slot is for 3 months and goes something like this: - TV show 1: youngster over jobber - TV show 2: youngster over jobber - TV show 3: youngster over JTTS - TV show 4: star heel over youngster Rinse-repeat x 2. This is also known as "The Rick McGraw". Your young worker would fly in and out of Washington or Allentown every Wednesday and be back in his home territory by the weekend. He would not work house shows, only TV. The WWF is willing to listen to any offers for this deal. It offers useful experience and exposure since WWF syndicated TV goes all across the country and is a favourite for coverage with the Apter mags.

Bravo was on my list. He was a former tag champ in New York as well, so had some cache for me, but very surprised he wasn't picked a lot earlier. For my money Ernie Ladd and Ole Anderson are the guys who have been undervalued most, but Bravo would be a close third. -
Those close to Vincent James McMahon suggest that he would prefer the NWA Presidency to go back to his good friend Eddie Graham. He remains neutral on the issue of World Champion but some suggest that he would prefer a babyface "in the Jack Brisco mould".

Dates on my loanees are here: http://prowrestlingonly.com/index.php?/topic/31219-world-wrestling-federation/?p=5676949

We agreed on him flying in for TV tapings on Wednesdays. That's true actually looking over it. Correct. He's working Superstars / Challenge only.

I am going to work on when I need all my loanees soon.
-
Just a reminder that I have Bret Tuesday-Friday for the first three months.

Match Ratings - Doing Away With the Meltzer * Formula

I essentally use a 15-point scale: http://prowrestlingonly.com/index.php?/topic/20932-80s-catchup-thread/&do=findComment&comment=5558468 Although I mostly use my star-rating equivalents because people understand them more than a letter rating. But it is the reason I don't use the ***1/4 and ****1/4 ratings. -
I'm thinking of taking the minis to go against Andre in a 5 vs 1 handicap match.
-
Sure. And El Borica, since I'm running big Arenas on Tuesdays, Andre will come in "whenever" for me.
