  1. Southeastern - Last week Ted Turner and Ron Fuller had clear the air meeting, unfortunately it didn't all go to plan, and it seems the relationship is now at breaking point with Turner ready to pull the plug. Fuller went through the plans for Southeastern and the direction he planned to go with, which Turner didn't agree with. Rumour has it this is possibly the last week on WTBS but who knows. - One of the big issues between the two is a recent talent exchange that has happen, that we will come into place within the next month. Turner was outraged at the trade, and felt it was the wrong move. - Talking of talent trades, Fuller has let up a bit with Bill Watts, who haven't seen eye to eye on a few occasions, work together, firstly Steve Lombardi came in for Tracy Smothers and one more bigger talent exchange. Fuller is quoted as saying "Me and Watts have different ideas on how this business should be run, but talent is talent, and a deal was there to be done". - Landell has landed and may quite an impact, look for him to become the premium talent in the territory, Fuller is big on "The Nature Boy" which has put another stars nose out of joint. - Talking of Landell, he and The Heavenly Bodies will be working up north on the tail end of the Southeastern loop.

  3. I do love this feud, I will have to re-watch on the network, as a kid I had all the Best Of Raw comps and this plays out great on them. I remember really enjoying the ROTT match and then the street fight the next night with the ambulance angle. Looking back this really was the foundation for Austin-McMahon, and I don't know if Bret gets the credit he deserves for his work with Austin and the attitude era. The one question I would ask everyone is, what and when would the blow off have had been? If Bret didn't leave, do we get Bret-Austin at Mania for the title? Or do we wait until Summerslam 98 for it?
  4. Can't seem to find it, but has someone got a list of the freelance woman's list?
  5. How would it work if he was in Japan?
  6. So don't know how I feel about booking Ken Wayne anymore. Thoughts?
  7. In the late 1990s a lot of British guys used to travel over for shows as wrote about in Fanzines and PowerSlam, I'm sure John Lister could shed light on it. Also the early UK PPVs (Capital Carnage, One Night Only) were seen as a big deal even if not great shows, but when they went to having TV tapings in the UK it may of spurred more to travel across the pond to see shows.
  8. Have to agree with Low Blow, some of the best promo work around. It's like a split dream promotion of Dallas and Florida, I wouldn't be surprised if one of the Von Erich suggest running a show at the Sportatorium to Eddie Graham...
  9. Just brilliant...
  10. I have to agree the format of the shows here are so much better to follow. We've spoke a lot about your roster but it's stacked, seems to be up there with Mid South, Florida and Crockett. Through some deals we've done I'm looking forward to Memphis exploding into the premium territory.
  11. Everyone getting involved in everyones business it seems in Mid South. It can't go unnoticed the roster here is stella, intrigued to know the outcome of the big show, looks like the heels generally get the rub in the bigger matches, I wonder if we're being played before the big one.
  12. I bet Buddy Robert took a hiding in that 10 man. I'm enjoying Crockett becoming the home of the multi man tag match. Also really enjoying you getting into your flow, seems like the foundations have been laid and we're about to go full throttle in the Carolinas...
  13. I have no issues with Celebrities, I personally wouldn't use them. I like the idea of using old timers as judges.
  14. Personally I'm happy with whatever, with Ken Lucas retirement I'm simply going to retire him before too long and then "move him to the office". I'm not too interested in celebrities, and for bringing people back like a Thesz unless working week in week out shouldn't be involved in a match, but happy if he's a referee or a judge etc, just not acutally wrestling. Reason being is surely he'd become a roster member for it too mean anything?
  15. You have to remember Kev that we don't have every single result from this period, it maybe that for example Ernie Ladd wrestled between June and October but their are no records of them...
  16. First 4 corner match in history? Enjoyed the poster and enjoyed the build up "Battle of New Orleans" is good, looking forward to the outcome of the main event.
  17. Jeff Sword was just lost in the shuffle? No debate over him being active? Bruno was still appearing and even wrestling the odd time to time up until, I want to say 1986? But with him, Verne, Fritz, Stu Hart they should maybe only be used in there respective home bases, because all were having the odd matches here and there, but in there home bases? You've mentioned Bruno a few times, and suspect it's someone you want to use down the road, maybe explain what you want to do with him, if anything, to help the motion being passed so to speak? On a side note, we need to have a retirement list of sorts? Also someone dies in the next ten days in our game...
  18. Could you expand? Would this be people who went away and then came back and we bring them back earlier? Ron Wright as example? Or personalities not involved due to places being closed? Someone in WWF as an example?
  19. Monday 30th January 1984 Boutwell Auditorium, Birmingham, AL Bell Time 7:30pm 1. Jimmy Golden defeats The Masked Yankee in 6 minutes. The Masked Yankee is making his debut in the area, he comes to the ring in a singlet and ripped New York Yankees T-Shirt. Golden makes light work of Yankee and pins him after 6 minutes following a Piledriver. - 2. Roy Lee Welch defeats Ken Lucas in a grudge match when he had two feet on the middle rope for extra leverage on a pinful attempt after 12 minutes. This was a heated battle after Welch turned on his former tag team championship partner this past saturday. After the brutal attack this past monday, we were in two minds whether Lucas would be here this evening, but he turned up with his head bandaged up. The win for Welch came when he hit a sunset flip on Lucas and positioned both of his legs on the middle rope to get the 3 count. - 3. Southeastern Heavyweight Champion "Bullet" Bob Armstrong defeats Norvell Austin in 15 minutes via count-out. This was Austin's return match in the Boutwell Auditorium, the end came when Norvell Austin seemed to have landed awkwardly when he exited the ring, and Armstrong picked up on it and sweeped his ankle from underneath him and he was unable to return to the ring after a 10 count. - 4. "Magnum" Scott Hall with Baby Doll defeats Billy Travis in 2 minutes following a Fall Away Slam. The Heavenly Bodies, Bobby Eaton and Tom Pritchard defeat Southeastern Tag Team Champions The Lightning Express, Brad Armstrong & Tim Horner to become new Tag Team Champions. The victory came when The Flame and Phil Hickerson came from the back and attacked Brad Armstrong on the outside leaving Tim Horner to defend for himself. Tom Pritchard hits a Piledriver on Horner and Eaton came off the top rope with the Alabama Jam onto Horner for the win at 14 minutes. - 6. But before we go to any action we must run through the ending of this past Mondays Birmingham card, unfortunately due to the nature of the footage, we are unable to show you the action, but we can show you still photos of what went down courtesy of PWI, we are shown the following… Photo 1; Robert Fuller and “Wildfire” Tommy Rich wrestling inside the cage Photo 2; Fuller forcing Rich’s head into the cage Photo 3; The Hollywood Blondes attacking Ron Fuller outside the cage Photo 4; Nickla Roberts and a mystery man make their way to the ring Photo 5; The Blondes and the mystery man inside the cage attacking Rich and Fuller Photo 6; Buddy Landell inside the ring Photo 7; Landell has the figure four leg lock locked in on Tommy Rich Photo 8; Landell, The Blondes, the mystery man and Nickla Roberts celebrate in the ring Solie and Platt talk over the serious nature of the attack and let us know that Robert and Ron Fuller aren’t here today but signed for this Monday night in Birmingham a massive 6 man, when “Wildfire” Tommy Rich teams up with The Fabulous Ones to take on Buddy Landell and The Hollywood Blondes. There are boo’s heard from the other side of the studio as Nickla Roberts leads out her stable of wrestlers, The Hollywood Blondes, Ken Timbs & Eric Embry, Buddy Landell and the mystery man, who is wearing sunglasses and a leather bikers jacket. Solie tells Roberts that her men made quite the impact last Monday. Roberts tells Solie and Platt from now on out she is to be known as Baby Doll and these are her clients, The Hollywood Blondes, her personal body guard “Magnum” Scott Hall and “The Nature Boy” Buddy Landell. Landell takes over, he thanks Baby Doll for the introduction, he tells Gordon Solie and Charlie Platt that he is here for one reason and one reason only and that’s to be National Heavyweight Champion, and unfortunately that is held by Tommy Rich, and after he and the Hollywood Blondes defeat Rich and The Fabulous Ones he’ll be coming for his title, and then moving onto the AWA World Heavyweight Title, he says he’s the only true Nature Boy in professional wrestling. === Advert === We return with Gene Ligon and Billy Travis in the ring with Jim Cornette who introduces his team as the soon to be 3 time Southeastern Tag Team Champions, “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton and “The Doctor of Love” Tom Pritchard, the Heavenly Bodies. The Heavenly Bodies who face off with champions Brad Armstrong and Tim Horner the Lightning Express this Monday, make light work of their opponents and get the win in 4 minutes when Bobby Eaton hits Travis with an Alabama Jam from the top rope and covers him for the victory. Following the match, Cornette and the Heavenly Bodies leave the ringside and join Gordon Solie and Charlie Platt, Cornette who as ever is followed by his "Insurance Policy" Big Bubba Lynch says this Monday they get their titles back and the Lightning Express might as well just hand them over. The Lightning Express come out and says there isn’t a chance in hell they are handing over these belts so they better bring their A game this monday night. Eaton and Pritchard clearly not liking being the challengers attack The Lightning Express and a brawl ensues, the Lightning Express manage to turn the tables following the cheap shot and send the Bodies packing. === Run down of this week’s action coming to Alabama and Georgia === Gordon Solie and Charlie Platt welcome former tag team champions Ken Lucas and Roy Lee Welch, who lost their titles last Monday in Birmingham, Lucas says that on the day, they were beaten by the better team, Welch looks at him and says he doesn’t totally agree with that, but they were beaten. Lucas continues and says tonight they get back on track towards winning their titles back starting with Mike Davis and Tommy Lane. Lane and Davis are in the ring as Welch and Lucas make their way towards the ring when Roy Lee Welch turns Lucas around a catches him with a stiff clothesline which knocks him to the ground, Welch then gets on top of Lucas and starts to pound him with rights and lefts, he then grabs Lucas’ head and slams into on the studio floor, busting Lucas open. With Ken Lucas laying on the ground, Roy Lee Welch makes his way back to Solie and Platt who are shocked by what their have just seen, Welch tells Solie and Platt that they lost the title because Ken Lucas tagged himself in and lost the titles, and that’s something I can never forgive and thats why i want Lucas on Monday night in Birmingham. As medics deal with Ken Lucas, Mike Jackson and Marty Jannetty make their way to the ring to replace Welch and Lucas. Davis and Lane defeat them in 5 minutes following a Back Body Drop to Marty Jannetty into a Powerbomb from Davis followed by the pin. === Advert === We return with this week’s “Beat the Champ” Television Championship Challenge, Gordon Solie and Charlie Platt explain as Johnny Rich couldn’t defeat Jimmy Golden in 10 minutes last week, but did defeat him, he will be this week’s first wrestler, and his opponent will be chosen at random. Charlie Platt brings out a bag with everyones name in, Solie puts his hand into the bag and pulls out Nightmare Danny Davis name. Davis makes his way to the ring and the match starts, the contest is very even in the early parts, towards the 8 minute mark, with Johnny Rich in control, Rich hits Davis with a running cross body block that knocks Danny Davis out of the ring. Rich concerned about the time, goes to leave the ring to get Davis, but referee Dave Hebner blocks him, then from the back Ken Wayne runs out and rolls Davis under the ring and takes his place. Wayne stumbles back into the ring and Johnny Rich goes to pick him up, but Wayne grabs Rich and rolls him up into a small cradle and gets the 3 count. Ken Wayne rolls to the outside and celebrates on the outside while Rich is surprised about what has just happened. As he checks with the referee that it was a 3 count, he sees Danny Davis roll out from under the ring and leave with his partner Ken Wayne. === Run down of this week’s action coming to Alabama and Georgia === We return from the break and Jimmy Golden storms out to the announcers table, he is hot and demands he wants answers from Baby Doll as to why she thinks she can attack the Studd Stable, he says that his cousin is pretty beaten up and doesn't know when he will be back in action. Baby Doll with Scott Hall come out and tell Golden, it was all business and if he doesn’t like it then maybe he should leave. Golden tells Baby Doll that he knows the business she is in, Baby Doll takes offence to this a slaps Golden. Golden looks up and goes to grab Baby Doll but Scott Hall steps in the way and then from nowhere The Hollywood Blondes charge from out of the back and attack Golden from behind. A 3 on 1 beat down happens, until Baby Doll calls them off Golden and leaves the studio. The problem Jimmy Golden will have is that with Robert and Ron Fuller both on the shelf, he doesn’t have many allies. === Advert === We are back with Doug Vines in the ring awaiting his opponent Southeastern Heavyweight Champion “Bullet” Bob Armstrong. Bullet makes his way to the ring, the bell rings and in a competitive match Armstrong gets the win after 7 minutes following a Jaw Breaker. Following the match, “Bullet” Bob comes to the announcers table and says he knows he’s got a title defence against a returning star this Monday night in the shape of Norvell Austin, Armstrong says he’s know Austin a long time and it’ll be a tough challenge. He also says he has no love lost for the Fuller’s and Golden, but he wants Rich to know if he needs any help against Landell and his cronies then he’s always here. === Run down of this week’s action coming to Alabama and Georgia === Today’s main event see’s the team of Scott and Steve Armstrong along Mr Wrestling facing off with Buddy Landell and The Hollywood Blondes, Eric Embry and Ken Timbs who have Baby Doll with Scott Hall in their corner. The match is a good showcase for the new stable of Landell, Timbs and Embry, the match goes for about 5 minutes when Jimmy Golden storms the ring and begins to attack Eric Embry and Ken Timbs causing a DQ victory for Landell and The Blondes. Golden attack quickly turns into a 4-on-1 when Landell and Hall get involved. Then from the back comes “Wildfire” Tommy Rich and The Fabulous Ones and a 4-on-4 brawl breaks out. All 8 men brawl until the show goes off the air. === Show Ends === Quick Results 1. The Heavenly Bodies defeat Gene Ligon & Billy Travis in 4 minutes. 2. WWA results 1984

So the work rate fan of the 80s of today has an issue with Nick Bockwinkle jobbing in the curtain raiser in 6 minutes. But hell you've got the best talkers in the industry in Heenan, Bock and Hart and that's not to mention JJ Dillion. Great work...
