  1. Wrestling cards in January in Pine Bluff, means ECW last show to me, just 15 years out. In this timeline Thunderbolt Patterson headlines shows, the Russians get a win on a spot show, and Tracy Smothers wasn't Italian... RIP Extreme....
  2. Kevin, I transfer mine from word also. I find the best way is to transfer then format before posting, transfer the core of your work and then format. It probably your Word and posting function here aren't compatible. Hope this helps.
  3. Couldn't believe my luck, the Mongolian Stomper being dropped, cheers Mid Atlantic. Just got to think what to do with him now lol...
  4. Okay, after all the stuff I've read about the guy this week, I'll drop Pat Rose and pick up The Mongolian Stomper.
  5. Monday 23rd January 1984 Boutwell Auditorium, Birmingham, AL Bell Time 7:30pm 1. The Opening match this week see’s Stan Lane of The Fabulous Ones defeat Ken Timbs of The Hollywood Blondes in 13 minutes following a Karate Style kick. Both men didn’t wait for the bell to ring, they just went straight for one another, and brawled around the ringside area and back into the ring. - 2. The Heavenly Bodies, Bobby Eaton and Tom Pritchard with Jim Cornette and Big Bubba Lynch defeat The Armstrong Brothers, Scott and Steve Armstrong in 12 minutes, the end came when Steve Armstrong went to the top rope and Jim Cornette got up onto the apron and wobbled the top rope and Steve Armstrong fell to the mat, which was followed by Bobby Eaton climbing to the top rope and hitting an Alabama Jam on the fallen Armstrong for the 3 count. - 3. Next up we have Steve Keirn of The Fabulous Ones facing off with Eric Embry of The Hollywood Blondes. Before the bell can even ring the two men are brawling with one another, a bit like their partners match earlier this evening. Before too long, Ken Timbs is out trying to help his partner which in turns brings out Stan Lane to even the odds, before we know it, all four men are brawling all around the arena. This match was classed as a no contest. - 4. Southeastern Heavyweight Champion “Bullet” Bob Armstrong defeats Jimmy Golden with Ron Fuller in 18 minutes in a heated battle for the title. The finish came when “Bullet” Bob was dazed and Jimmy Golden was clearly passed something from Ron Fuller and put it in his tights to help finish off Armstrong. Seeing this happen from the back, Brad Armstrong ran to the ring, and highlighted to referee Dave Hebner that Golden had something in his tights, Hebner patted down Golden and found the brass knux and as soon as Golden had handed over the knux, “Bullet” Bob hit his Jaw Jacker on Golden and covered him for the victory. Brad celebrated with his father in the ring and indicated that he had told the referee that a bout the knux. - 5. The Lightning Express Brad Armstrong and Tim Horner defeat Southeastern Tag Team Champions Ken Lucas and Roy Lee Welch in 15 minutes, when Brad Armstrong hit a Russian Leg Sweep on Lucas and covers him for the victory. The Story of the match was the youngster out pacing the veteran team before getting the win. The finish came when it looked like Roy Lee Welch was setting up for the Fuller Leg Lock when Lucas tagged himself in and caught a running dropkick from Tim Horner and stumbled into Brad who hit a Russian Leg Sweep. Following the match all four men shook hands, Roy Lee Welech was clearly annoyed about losing the titles. - 6. Tonight’s main event sees National Heavyweight Champion “Wildfire” Tommy Rich and Robert Fuller with Ron Fuller face off in a steel cage match. This is Robert Fullers last title shot for 6 months if he loses the match. The match as you would expect was a blood bath, both men using the cage as a weapon, this feud is 6 months in the making, and Robert Fuller is putting everything on the line as he won’t receive a title shot for 6 months if he loses. After about 25 minutes the is a commotion from the back of the arena, it turns out that The Hollywood Blondes Eric Embry and Ken Timbs are running from the back to the ring to attack Ron Fuller on the outside of the cage. Jimmy Golden runs out to make the save on his cousin Ron, but the damage is done to Ron Fuller and The Blondes turn their attention to Golden and beat him down 2 on 1. We see the Blondes wave to the back and out comes Nickla Roberts who has a tall man following her, the tall man knocks out the referee and takes the key from him and opens the cage door. The unidentified man and The Hollywood Blondes who are clearly being directed by Nickla Roberts enter the cage and start to attack both Tommy Rich and Robert Fuller who are beating down as it is from the match itself. There is more commotion from the back as another man makes he’s way to the ring in a suit. The man enters the ring and is handed the key and he re locks the cage door and looks up and its none other than BUDDY LANDELL. All 4 men attack the bloody Rich and Fuller, now there are more and more wrestlers coming from the back to try and stop this attack, the fans at the Boutwell Auditorium are pushed up against the cage. The attack continues and Buddy Landell comes of the top rope onto Robert Fullers ankle as Embry and Timbs holds it, Landell then slaps on the Figure Four Leg Lock on Rich as the tall man, Embry and Timbs fight off people turning to climb over the top. Finally the door is opened and the local police surround the ring and clear a path for the Nickla Roberts and the 4 others to exit the arena. Also tonight a smaller card was held at the Georgia Mountain Centre in Gainesville, Georgia. Bell Time 19:30 1. Tommy Lane & Mike Davis defeat Gene Ligon & Billy Travis in 9 minutes. 2. Marty Jannetty defeats Barry Horowitz in 6 minutes with a Top Rope Cross Body. 3. Phil Hickerson & The Flame go to a 20 minutes time limit draw with Johnny RIch & Mr Wrestling, following the bell ringing both teams continued brawling, with Rich and WRestling getting the upper hand and sending the fans home happy.
  6. Southeastern - We haven't had results filter through from this weeks big Birmingham show, but we have heard a major angle happened at the end of the show. - As seen on this weeks TV, Jody Hamilton The Flame will be back within a few weeks, Hamilton who is in his mid 40s is likely to play a reduced role, but still very much involved. - Norvelle Austim has signed a deal and will be on TV in a couple of weeks. Mr Wrestling who debuted this week is Ron Starr under a mask, Starr who was trained by Tim Woods, returned this week. Expect him to fill the void in the mid card between the youngsters and main eventers. - You may of noticed Gordon Solie was pulled from TV this weekend and Les Thatcher took his place. From what we've heard, Fuller was unaware Solie wouldn't be able to make the taping, and ask Thatcher if he would help out as he was visiting friends at the taping, he even had to borrow a suit from Tony Falk. - This is the biggest indication that Southeastern won't be renewed in March, we believe Solie finished up his Florida gig in the morning and then was either in with Jim Crockett at a show in North Carolina or at the WMC-5 studio with Jerry Jarrett, looking at their operation. This will only add fuel to the Fuller-Turner fire. - If Turner is to pull Southeastern, Fuller has a back up plan to cover his extra over heads he pick up when expanding. He's been in contact with Ron Wright and his old East Tennessee territory All Star Wrestling, it's believe Fuller will be moving into East Tennessee with Wright and Phil Hickerson heading up that side of the territory. Ron Wright who was a massive star in the 50, 60s and 70s knows the East Tennessee area inside out. We are unaware of the territory will be split like pre 1980.
  7. PROUD MEMBER OF THE AMERICAN WRESTLING ASSOCIATION SOUTHEASTERN CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING TV Saturday 21st January 1984 Taped in front of a live studio audience at the WTVY Television Studio in Dothan, AL Hosted by Charlie Platt and Gordon Solie We open the show with Charlie Platt sitting at announcers desk alone this week, Platt informs just Gordon Solie has been called to a last minute meeting and won’t be here this week, but he won’t be alone as this week he’ll be joined by the returning Les Thatcher, Thatcher makes his way to the announcers table and shakes hands with Platt. Thatcher says it great to be in the Southeastern territory. Charlie Platt goes to run through the today’s action when Robert Fuller and Ron Fuller storm out to the announcers table, Robert is hot at losing to Tommy Rich this past Monday, he says he never knew Rich would stoop so low as to have a woman do his dirty work. With some more trash talk, “Wildfire” Tommy Rich come to the announcers table and sets the record straight, he didn’t know Nickla Roberts raked his eyes and definitely didn’t have anything to do with it. Fuller interrupts and says he doesn’t care he just wants a fair rematch because “Wildfire” is a cheat, Rich says he an honourable man, but he doesn’t trust Fuller not to have someone else interfere on his part, so he’s happy to give Fuller a rematch but it’ll be inside a steel cage so he can assure that no one gets involved, Robert Fuller agrees and both men walk off in different directions. So that’s it signed, this Monday in Birmingham a still cage match for the National Heavyweight Title. === Advert === Our opening match this week sees a newcomer to the area, a masked wrestler by the name of Mr Wrestling. Mr Wrestling makes he’s way to the ring and high fiving the fans on the way. Today he makes his debut against Barry Horowitz, Mr Wrestling who we don’t know much about, makes light work of Horowitz and submits him to the Figure Four Leg Lock at the 6 minute mark. Following the bout Mr Wrestling makes his way to the announcer’s desk to talk with Thatcher and Platt, Mr Wrestling tells Platt and Thatcher that he’s here in the Southeastern area to make an impact and that’s what he’s going to do. As Mr Wrestling leaves the announcers area, new Southeastern Tag Team Champions Ken Lucas and Roy Lee Welch come to the announcers table. Platt and Thatcher congratulates the new Tag Team champions and tell them their next challenge will be against The Lightning Express, Brad Armstrong and Tim Horner who won a 4 team elimination match this past Monday. Ken Lucas tell the fans that it’s great to be Tag Team Champions in Southeastern with so many great young talent and this Monday with his partner Roy Lee Welch, they get to go up against the best two youngsters in wrestling in Tim Horner and Brad Armstrong. Roy Lee Welch says he hasn’t always had a lot of time for the Armstrong family, but Brad is a tremendous talent. The Heavenly Bodies along Jim Cornette and Big Bubba Lynch come to the announcers table and Jim Cornette says he’s spoke to Stanley Blackburn and has invoked their rematch clause for the titles and they will get it a week on Monday against the winners of the tag title match this Monday. Jim Cornette guarantees that by the time we are back in Dothan for TV the Heavenly Bodies will be tag team champions. === Run down of this week’s action coming to Alabama and Georgia === We return with Charlie Platt saying that both The Fabulous Ones and The Hollywood Blondes aren’t here this week due to injuries sustained in their match this past Monday, however both teams will be here next week, we are then shown clips from this past Monday where the Fabulous Ones retained the rights to their name in a bloody match with The Hollywood Blondes. We will now go to the ring for our second match of the show, where The Medics are waiting for their opponents The Armstrong Brothers Scott & Steve in the ring. The match starts with the Medics jumping the Armstrong’s at the bell and they take control early, The Armstrong’s manage to turn the table and get the win following a Double Superkick to Medic #1 and Steve covers the fallen Medic for the 3 count. Following the bout, Steve and Scott join Southeastern Heavyweight Champion “Bullet” Bob Armstrong at the announcer’s desk. “Bullet” Bob congratulates his sons on their victory, and then he turns his attention to Jimmy Golden who he has to face this week for his Southeastern Heavyweight Title Match, after again being cheated out of the win this past Monday. “Bullet” Bob promises that this week it’ll be different and he’ll have his wits about him and will not lose even if Golden turns to pull any stunts to get the win. === Advert === We go for a commercial break and return with “Bullet” Bob Armstrong in the ring up against the Masked Raider. Bob Armstrong makes light work of the Raider and pins him after 4 minutes following a Jaw Breaker. “Bullet” Bob looks like he has put his frustrations shown on Monday night behind him and is focused on the task at hand which is Jimmy Golden. Following the match we are shown a video of The Flame who will be returning in a few week’s time, The Flame promises that no one will be safe when he returns, especially the Armstrong’s. === Run down of this week’s action coming to Alabama and Georgia === After the commercial break we go straight to the ring with the team of Mike Davis and Tommy Lane waiting in the ring for their opponents The Lightning Express. The fan favourites Armstrong and Horner make their way to the ring to great fanfare, Lane and Davis are not to be underestimated, and quickly take control of the match after the bell. The match goes for about 8 minutes when Brad Armstrong sets up Tommy Lane for the Russian Leg Sweep when Danny Davis and Ken Wayne storm the ring and attacked The Lightning Express, a 4-on-2 attack ensues until Steve and Scott Armstrong come running to the ring and save the Lightning Express from the beat down. Lane and Davis along with The Nightmares retreat to the back as The Lightning Express and The Armstrong Brothers make their way other to Charlie Platt and Les Thatcher, The Lightning Express thank Scott and Steve and lay out a challenge for next week on TV, The Express along with Scott & Steve against Lane & Davis and The Nightmares. They then turn their attention to Ken Lucas & Roy Lee Welch who they face this Monday night for the Tag Team Championship, both wrestlers say they are honoured be facing off with two of their heroes from their childhood but they have never been so focus then they are at the moment and their be bringing the titles home. === Advert === We are now joined by Jimmy Golden for the “Beat the Champ” Television Championship challenge. Golden who is now 2/5 on his quest for a title match of his choice, this process has been pretty straight forward for the champ with victories over Marty Jannetty and Larry Hamilton. Jimmy Golden says everything is going great for him at the moment, he will be taking the Southeastern Heavyweight Championship this Monday from “Has Been” Armstrong and then after his cousin wins back his National Heavyweight Title from Tommy Rich this Monday then they will concentrate their efforts on the winning the Tag Team Title and hold all the gold. Jimmy Golden gets into the ring and begins to warm up. Charlie Platt asks Les Thatcher to open the bag and he’ll pull a name out of it. Platt puts his hand in and shuffles around and pulls out a name, Platt says he doesn’t believe it, he announces the challenger this week as Johnny Rich. Golden is shocked, these two have quite the history, Johnny Rich runs to the ring and the match is on, Rich is a house of fire and Golden can’t up with. Rich is in complete control until Golden hits a low blow on Rich behind the referee’s back. The match goes a few more minutes when Charlie Platt announcers there is only a minute left, then again at 30 seconds, the studio audience begin to count down from 20 seconds. Johnny Rich hits a flying cross body block on Golden and covers him 1….2…..the bell rings, Johnny Rich defeats Jimmy Golden, Golden is in shock, Rich is celebrating. Dave Hebner the referee goes to the time keeper and then to Charlie Platt, Charlie Platt then announces that Johnny Rich although did beat Jimmy Golden, it took him 10 minutes and 2 seconds, therefore he isn’t the new “Beat the Champ” Television Champion. Jimmy Golden celebrates as if he’s won the world title, Charlie then goes on to say that due to neither man managing to get victory in the 10 minutes, we will start next week with two new wrestlers. Jimmy Golden is furious as Johnny Rich continues to celebrate his victory as we go off the air. === Show Ends === Quick Results 1. 10. Southeastern will be making the following moves. Moving into Jobber spots are... Gene Ligon Mike Jackson Barry Horowitz Tony Falk Southeastern will also add.. Billy Travis Doug Vines With a roster spot I will pick up Pat Rose.
  11. Unless I've missed it somewhere, Jeff Sword isn't on any roster or free agent list?
  12. We good to go with this?
  13. I think it'll be optional. It'll be 34 + 6 optional? If you want to use 2 then it's fine...
  14. Great news for Gene. And hopefully a ready made replacement.
  15. Naitch and the Universal Heartthrob at Corkys Bar-B-Q walking around in their robes and titles, the locals wouldn't of known what hit them...
  16. Seems like it's good to do this...
  17. True
  18. Playing devils avdocate, if they were a jobber would it matter? Or maybe a weeks notice period?
  19. I do think that although these are protected from others picking up and using as jobbers, if someone is wanting to use a jobber on there roster then they should be allowed to pick them up. Example Mid South has Tom Zenk in Jobber Section AWA wants to give him a Roster spot he can take him?
  20. Will let everyone pipe in with their opinion. And then pick up...
  21. Cool, so if everyone is happy, do we all nominate 2 wrestlers and do a jobber draft? Or just let everyone do it when they are free, as nothing is going to set the world alight...
  22. Are they protected? If so im happy for it...
  23. So 34 main card guys, and 6 jobbers?
  24. Southeastern drops Larry Hamilton and picks up Ron Starr
  25. Southeastern loans Tracy Smothers to Mid South in return for Steve Lombardi for a rolling period of time.
