  1. I recent review I did on the UKFF
  2. I've always seen Fit Finlay as a "Mr Consistency" candidate.
  3. I remember a "Cheetah Master" around that time in the ECWA who used to get a lot of writeups as well.
  4. Even the people who'd show up on Nitro were almost surreal. David Sammartino vs Dean Malenko being a prime example. Devon Storm and Ace Darling turned up on Nitro a few times teaming as "The Extreme" as well.
  5. It was about 3 weeks behind here in the UK from 1999, which was frustrating when Nitro was only 3 days old when shown, and Thunder was 1. It also had a heel Mike Tenay who did his commentary in post production for it claiming that the Nitro team who'd be on camera (and sometimes he'd be part of) were the WCW.com commentary team and that Worldwide was as-live. Which made even less sense when you factor in they'd show a Nitro match, Thunder match, and occasional Saturday Night or Dark match in different arenas.
  6. I'd doubt it. Doesn't seem like the kind of thing they, or anyone I can think of booking wrestling at that time, would say to me.
  7. Christ, it was nowhere near that. The only normal TV show to hit the 30m mark was the christmas Eastenders in 1986. The only sporting event to hit the 30m mark was the 1966 World Cup Final. According to any BARB and BFI rating stuff I've found they never even hit 20m. I have heard that they got something like 18m on a Cup Final day but I'm not too believing of that, to be honest. 70s? http://www.bfi.org.uk/features/mostwatched/1970s.html Perhaps there is a bias against listing wrestling. John I don';t get your point. I've had a drink so you'll have to spell it out. If you're referring to him saying 70's and me pulling 80's and 60's out of my arse, that's because I was referring to all time. And the wrestling segment of World of Sport never ever got near the 30m originally claimed. The Joint Promotions stuff was an hour segment on a 4 hour show, and it never approached ratings people tend to say.
  8. 24m according to Shittypedia, but that's still a mighty wedge and 4th biggest ever.

  10. If your not adverse to it all being in Welsh, Reslo is good value. I may have some old tapes around here somewhere recorded off TV. I'll have a look.
  11. Bob Mould was on the 1999 booking committee wasn't he?
  12. A very young Al Snow works as a jobber on this ICW (Poffo) match here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GreF6iYh1bs
  13. However, Fame Academy was the best, but couldn't compete with 19 Entertainment's WWF juggernaut.
  14. Pop Idol was an offshoot from Popstars (and later Popstars: The Rivals) I always thought. Cowell wasn't on Popstars, for instance, and Pop Idol was the brainchild of Fuller. I was under the impression that The X Factor was Cowell's first reality TV that he produced. May well be wrong, but just makes more sense going by the UK chronology of it. Especially seeing as Fuller's sued Cowell.
  15. ...a pair of chinos, called himself "The Pride of Scotland" and cut a promo on the jury. BRITWRES~!
  16. Try the Masters vs McIntyre match from superstars in May. Easily top 5 US match of 2011 thus far.
  17. I'm really hoping he comes to the UK and does an extended tour for All Star.
  18. Gail Kim has quit WWE. Also Melina, DH Smith, Koslov and, most idiotically, Chris Masters have been released. I'd not be surprised to see another few go today as well.
  19. Because it was Hogan, I'd wager. Was his percentage of PPV income dependent on if he headlined the card?
  20. I think I preferred him far more after his long spell out with illness. I remember really enjoying him when he arrived back on Raw in 2004 as a face, and had some really fun spirited (albeit short) brawls with HHH.
  21. Totally. There's all manner of stories coming out over the past couple of months about his decorum on social networking sites with minors whom he doesn't know, as well as his behaviour with the daughter of a well known UK wrestling family. Also, even worse, he worked as a development coach at Motherwell FC dealing with youth.
  22. Jim Brown is one of many reasons that Britwres is the best in the world. He's ripped off Hospitals, Locker Rooms at Chikara (Which he flew himself to and worked for free which didn't endear him to many from what I gather), and stole the first place trophy from a freestyle wrestling tourney he came fourth in. He also appeared on a prime time Game Show last year as well. While he is indeed blackballed from the UK Wrestling scene I find it amazing he's never really had a major thrashing.
  23. RD Reynolds is awful isn't he? Him being in FSM is almost as bad as WOW publishing Scott Keith articles. Actually, didn't FSM publish Scott Keith articles in one of their previous incarnations?
  24. Not enough is said about Jimmy Garvin on colour. I reckon he's fantastic during that period with Lance.
  25. I really enjoyed his NWA Title run. Mind you, he wasn't in his 1988 pomp, certainly. There's a really fun four minute match vs Tim Horner from his Widowmaker run here - He's still sharp as a tack there.
