WWE isn't just coasting on TV money, though. The product is genuinely hot right now. And the idea that the company is on autopilot with Vince having little or no direct involvement flies in the face of everything we know about the guy. Regardless, given his long record of crimes against decency (not to mention actual crimes), Vince is someone for whom the classic dril tweet holds true. You do not, under any circumstances, gotta hand it to him.

It'd be wise not to make too much of this considering how strong ticket sales for Wembley have been, but it is a cause for concern. It could just be a case of the market being burned out. Vegas has never been much of a wrestling town, and the fly-in crowd seems to have gravitated toward Forbidden Door and All Out. Also, with Punk's return on the horizon, DON increasingly feels like a placeholder show.

Speaking of ROH, Fightful Select is reporting that Punk is pitching for Samoa Joe to be his first opponent. If that's the plan, then sign me up. It's a legendary rivalry that's also a fresh matchup due to the two not having faced each other in nearly two decades. And it goes without saying that the promos would be fire.

My guess is they'll do a series of triple threat matches to determine which four competitors get a first-round bye. If it was up to me, I'd just run an 8-man bracket since Priest/Miz/Nakamura/AJ have no business in the tournament from a kayfabe standpoint. The latter two have done jack shit in WWE this year and the former two were recently pinned by musicians.

I greatly prefer Omega as a heel both as a character and in the ring. There's an inherent dorkiness to his persona that undermines whatever cool factor his physical gifts would afford. Danielson is kind of a dork as well, but it's tempered in his case by a level of earnestness that Omega lacks. From an in-ring standpoint, Omega's offensive arsenal of V-Triggers and suplexes is more suited for extended control segments than comebacks. Also, the aforementioned dorkiness lends itself more to theatrical heel selling than sympathetic babyface selling.

Looks like we have our first casualty of the merger. Pretty amazing she was able to remain on the payroll for as long as she did. She also had an inexplicably great Northern Lights suplex, so I'll give her credit for that.

Shibata is the only one I can think of. One of the great things about puro is that it isn't infested with nepo babies.

The stereotype of the redneck wrestling fan is outdated. There may be the occasional clown with a Let's Go Brandon sign at an AEW show, but wrestling fandom as a whole is overwhelmingly left-leaning. The chud sports fan demographic has mostly migrated to UFC.

That shirt would be fine if it was something the Outcasts wore for heat and not for sale to the general public. Having it be actual merchandise promoted by Britt herself is completely asinine on a number of levels.

Jumbo had the best abdominal stretch and the best stomps. Manami Toyota had the best moonsault. Billy Robinson had the best neckbreaker.

Looking back, it seems like there were a disproportionate number of WWE feuds that ended with a racist heel (or babyface) having the last laugh against a POC.

It's probably been long forgotten by everyone but me, but Tay Conti's MYC theme went hard. I don't know why more wrestlers, particularly British ones, don't use grime as entrance music. It seems like it'd be a perfect fit for pro wrestling.

I remember reading once that AJW gave Aja Kong a monster gimmick because they didn't think someone who was half-black could be a teen idol, to say nothing of naming her after a famous giant ape.
