  1. Looks like those of you who have been wanting the company to do more interpromotional stuff are about to get your wish.
  2. Even setting aside WWE's track record, the chances of this being an honest mistake are so slim as to be essentially zero. Stock footage used in a for-profit broadcast has to be licensed so the creator can receive royalties. And licensed footage usually contains detailed descriptions of the subject matter and location. It is nigh inconceivable that someone in WWE came across Auschwitz footage that was not clearly and unambiguously labeled as such.
  3. You really think it's a good idea to pick a fight with the Auschwitz Memorial over whether a use of Auschwitz imagery is appropriate? You might want to sit this one out, chief.
  4. Pro-Taylor/anti-Vickie is the correct quadrant to be in.
  5. Isn't she more of a Manami Toyota fan?
  6. Yeah, when I did a Google image search for "prison yard," I didn't see anything that looked like a concentration camp. As a general rule, I believe that you should never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity. But when WWE keeps making "innocent mistakes" on the same issue (a few weeks ago, they got in hot water over Gunther having a character rating of 88 in WWE2K3), I have to wonder if there are groypers in the company who like to sneak in as many far-right Easter eggs as they can get away with.
  7. What sucks is that it's probably some low-level schmucks in production who were scheduled to be laid off after the merger who are going to get fired over this so the company can get away with not providing severance pay.
  8. Even if you think we shouldn't rush to judgment on abuse claims, it's hard to give Vickie the benefit of the doubt when she responded in just about the worst possible way. She slut-shamed and victim blamed her daughter without actually addressing the allegations. Not quite how you'd expect someone who had been wrongfully accused to react. She could hardly have done a better job if she had set out to deliberately torpedo her credibility.
  9. AEW Svalbard. Got to get the jump on NXT.
  10. And of course fucking Brian Cage liked that post.
  11. Speaking of wrestling families: Ugh. Looks like Vickie is the latest person universally beloved in the business to be exposed as a garbage human being. Pro wrestlers are the worst judges of character.
  12. There are probably at least a dozen Mexican families that belong in the conversation. Virtually every luchador of note is related in some way to someone else in the business.
  13. The historical parallel that stands out to me is Sheik/Andre in Toronto. Sheik had run roughshod over everyone and fans were certain Andre would be the one to finally end the reign of terror. When he went down to the fireball just like everyone else, the fans figured Sheik would never truly get his and it killed the city. It should be noted that Raw did a monster rating even going up against the men's title game, but that was before it was revealed that Vince was back in charge. We'll see what kind of impact the 1-2 punch of the Mania result and the return of Vince's brain worms has on business.
  14. Jay White feuding with Jericho for six months.
  15. PWInsider reported, and Meltzer confirmed, that Vince was in charge of Raw last night. It begins.
  16. HHH has definitely seen Rocky IV, though. Jobbing out Cody in front of -1 was like letting Ivan Drago kill Apollo Creed in front of James Brown.
  17. I maintain that Cody losing was a HHH call for the reasons I outlined in the Mania thread. If it was Vince, he likely would have had Cody win and then booked him like a chump for the duration of his reign like Rey in 2006 and Kofi in 2019.
  18. It'll be interesting to see if there's a significant spike in viewers for Dynamite on Wednesday. The men's title game is tonight, so Raw ratings will have to be taken with a grain of salt.
  19. Why wouldn't it be? He loved to stretch storylines out well past their peaks and generally booked babyfaces like dogshit when he was in charge of NXT. He's also a well-known holder of grudges, and he surely hasn't forgotten about this:
  20. I had a post ready to go about how the main event was a typical boring Roman title match, but the heat was off the charts and the ending was an incredible moment. Then we got the actual ending. HHH has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that he's a fraud as a booker. He was handed two separate opportunities to create a potential superstar babyface on a silver platter and pissed them both away. However Roman's title reign ends, it won't be nearly as big as if Sami or Cody had toppled him.
  21. First top three for 2023 and a new #1.
  22. At least I can take solace in the fact that I can go back to not caring about WWE.
  23. LMAO
  24. Not that I want it to happen, but it'd be pretty hilarious if Cody did the job after this entrance.
