RIP They just mentioned his death on CBC2 here in Vancouver and played a clip of him cutting a promo. Unfortunately his pro wrestling career was pretty much summed up as "he wrestled for the WWF in the 1980s". They also claimed he was in 13,000 "fights" during his career.

Just read this. I don't think it has been mentioned yet. It's from the book The Bad Guys Won by Jeff Pearlman, about the 1986 New York Mets. On page 63 is the following quote: "Up until the early to mid-80s, Cardinals versus the Mets was no more of a rivarly than Hulk Hogan versus Molly Ringwald."

I'm at a point in my life where Andre vs Buddy in 81 is a dream match. That sucks.

Editing the upcoming Titans St Louis Wrestling special (cheap plug...but watch out for it Tuesday fans!) actually wasn't that bad. I had three days off, so I could take my time with it. Still, probably took about 8hrs total to edit over three days.

Yeah, Honky was already a Ferris creation but I don't know of any foootage of him using the gimmick prior to his WWF debut. Hercules was Hercules in Mid South, long before he hit the WWF. Koko Ware and George Steele weren't really that different from their pre-Rock N Wrestling personas. Ferris was doing the Honky gimmick ("Honky Tonk Wayne") in Stampede when I first started watching in the summer of 86. Can't find any Stampede footage online, but here is footage of him in All-Star Wrestling in Vancouver from probably around the same time:

Two different Mr. Clean/Mr. Kleen wrestlers from the 60s (not to be confused with Mr. Clean, aka the Grand Wizard, aka Ernie Roth). Also pictured in the second photo, Handy Andy, aka "Mini-Kleen". The Mr. Kleen in the second photo is named Ed Albers, and according to him, "There must have been 50..." guys working Mr. Clean gimmicks in the 60s.
