Held by someone clearly wearing a tie dyed shirt....hmmmmm, wonder who it could be?

I knew you would appreciate it brother

Thought I'd share this here, because why not. Johnny Sorrow and I are doing a bimonthly YouTube show where the focus is on obscure comics related media, like failed pilots, forgotten cartoons, wacky music recordings, and so on

Looking for the Bruno vs. Larry podcast
Ricky Jackson replied to Sweet Brown Koko's topic in Pro Wrestling
I assume you're referring to this https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-best-of-titans-of-wrestling-volume-2-bruno-vs-larry/id1584832906?i=1000535579103 No idea how this has aged but it was damn fun to do -
So is former 5-time tag champ Tony Garea. If nothing else, induct that amazing hair

1970s Apter Mag Match of the Year winners
Ricky Jackson replied to Ricky Jackson's topic in Pro Wrestling
Big bump, for anyone who cares Was going through the 25th anniversary issue of The Wrestler from 1991 on Internet Archive, and in it they have a pic of Bruno vs Hansen from the 1976 Showdown at Shea accompanying a caption for Match of the Year 1976. I was always leaning to that match being the real 1976 MOTY, not the April 26 MSG one, so without better evidence, I'm officially making the Wikipedia edit for the PWI Awards article and crediting the Shea match based on that info -
World Cast: A WCCW Review
Ricky Jackson replied to Ricky Jackson's topic in Publications and Podcasts
Cool. Titans eps are slowly being scrubbed from Spotify and pod catchers due to our totally brazen use of copyrighted music, but World Cast is mostly fine, other than the one ep that had too much of Freebird -
I love Dom. Not even sure I voted for him last time. Anyway, here's a playlist if anyone is interested in his "case" https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLV6RCTo_Cd0BQW_rYxZ3Mc9AWavMIMEf_&si=ejwU5wYsmgYlsm8T

Gonna start bumping threads for wrestlers I love who haven't been discussed during this cycle Here's a chronological playlist I put together that may help sway voters https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLV6RCTo_Cd0BEElI_Qe-NCcjevfORw9Ns&si=0gTnXPxX6Ch7x55T

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 4
Ricky Jackson replied to TravJ1979's topic in Pro Wrestling
Better to concentrate on the old stuff anyway. 2026 is right around the corner and we need to get serious about GWE. Parv you ready to fire up BIGLAV brother? -

Can't help but notice that the WWE folder is dead and Survivor Series didn't even stir it from its slumber... -
I know I enjoyed Garea vs George Steele from 6/27/77 MSG. It gets violent at the end. (and the follow up tags w. Zbyszko against Steele & Stasiak/Steele & Scicluna on the next two MSG shows are also quite good) Plenty of good/fun/whatever tags during Garea's long run at the top of that division. For a hidden gem, check out Garea & Steve Travis vs Johnny Rodz/Jose Estrada 2 out of 3 falls from 9/18/82 Spectrum

I had quite a few of the Essentials during the first wave in the late 90s, including the first 2 X Men volumes. Definitely my favorite X Men (I've never been a huge fan in my 40+ years of comic reading). I traded in a good chunk of my Essentials about 5 years ago when I did a big purge coinciding with subscribing to MU and thinking "well, if I want to read that stuff again, I'll just read it here". Thankfully I kept Conan, Dr. Strange vol 1, Howard the Duck and Defenders vol 2-3. These days I'm definitely on the lookout for cheap copies of Essentials, plus the equally wonderful Showcase Presents from DC

Definitely could make a decent comp of Strongbow's greatest hits that would be very entertaining. The Valentine feud is awesome. Lots of fun 70s matches with nuclear atmospheres. The early 80s Strongbow Bros tag feud with Fuji & Saito is shockingly good. And the heel match Matt refers to is very good. Vote for Jay!

Cool! Subscribed Can't remember if I've linked my channel since I added a bunch of playlists, mostly chronological wrestler spotlights https://m.youtube.com/@titanstv1979/playlists

He was fun as a wrestler for about 5 minutes in 1998. Everything after strongly contributed to killing my love for WWF/E

It's funny I was just talking with some American friends (shoutout @Superstar Sleeze, @Bigelow34) about how when I was a kid in the 80s and 90s i couldn't see Prime Time Wrestling or MSG shows on TV because they didn't air in Canada. Now everything WWE here is on Netflix. Everything. Be jealous Yanks (of course I have Netflix, but outside of the Rumble, I haven't watched anything. 10 year old me would be very confused lol)

Yeah, definitely one of the best comics I've read in the last 5 plus years. A masterpiece

Not that I watch a lot of Cornette videos, but i always found that art style obnoxious so no big loss -
I think the 2036 vote (if such a thing happens) will see Ric back in the mix for a top spot, but 2026 feels like a "he finished 1st last time, so not too enthusiastic about pimping him this time" year (plus I think too much Nature Boy Behaving Badly in the media over the last decade has dented his reputation a bit)

He passed away on July 28. Probably a name most are unfamiliar with. He was originally from Martinique but wrestled a ton in Western Canada, eventually becoming a citizen, and he died in Calgary. When I started watching Stampede in 1986 he was there as a babyface, and had been a fixture in the territory since the 70s. He turned heel in early 1987, shocking 9 year old me. As a heel he became "Champagne" Gerry Morrow, and his promos, if you can find them, are hilarious, as he brags about his lavish lifestyle filled with money and, of course, plenty of champagne

I really soured on the human in recent years, to the point I had pretty much zero interest in watching any of his classic stuff, but at his peak the whole Hogan Wrestling Experience was a real fun ride

This Thursday, Piper vs Buzz Sawyer in a dog collar match!
