Fujiwara is the first guy from my top 10 to drop. I don't think he's on the radar of a lot of wrestling fans so I'm really glad he jumped as high as he did.
-
Part of the footage explosion, at least in my understanding of it, is the increased accessibility and dissemination of said footage through stuff like YouTube.
-
While I agree that the footage explosion may mean less to the average fan than the impact it has had on people who are more interested in exploring the past I can't agree that is has had little impact on the results of this poll. The placement of guys like Satanico, Santana, Dandy, Valentine, Fujiwara and a bunch of others relative to how they were viewed 10 years ago disproves that notion.

I don't mean this as a knock on anyone else, as I listen to and enjoy a lot of the podcasts by PWO regulars, but it is nice to hear some differing perspectives. Although I don't see eye-to-eye with Jimmy Redman on a lot of wrestling, i always enjoy and respect her take as much as Matt D's. As long as its well thought-out and articulated, the more diversity the better.

He had him in the top 50. I believe it was 49 or 48.
-
Not a huge fan of Lesnar. He's very good but massively overrated in the ring as far as I'm concerned. Ditto AJ Styles and Tully Blanchard.
-
Dundee was my number 20.

I had Tamura at 24 and I didn't rank Han at all. I'm not sold on the idea of Han as a great wrestler. Too often he comes across as a guy just doing moves in an exhibition.
-
Sorry, man, you must have missed him. Christian was 102.
-
Yeah you dummies. Having weak matches is his gimmick. He's sucking on purpose. Gosh, what a bunch of marks.
-
Kamala was definitely better! Wrestling is supposed to be fun.
-
I remember them being too long and boring. There's nothing worse than a long, boring match.

I honestly think that Jericho is dog shit and I haven't even watched any of his stuff from this year. I could be underrating him just a bit.

I don't think Hogan is one of the 100 greatest wrestlers ever, but I do think he's better than some people above him on the list. Atlantis probably should have been on my ballot, but I think people tend to overrate him a bit and I am not a fan of some of his more high-profile apuestas matches. They are good, but very repetitive and I don't think they would get the same praise if the same matches were done somewhere else by someone else. Jericho is maybe the first guy on the list that I think built his resume on god-awful performances in the 90s where he was praised for fucking up athletic spots that were out of his range. I actually think he's the worst guy to pop up in the top 100 so far except for maybe Dusty. But Dusty knew his limitations and didn't try to play to them like Jericho has. Sami Zayn is a GOOD wrestler but not top 100 GREAT. I think he's much better as a character and promo, similar to Owens. But he is a much better wrestler than Owens.

That must be why you can hear the entire MSC crowd reacting right on time to each of Lawler's punches.

When? I'd love to see that :-) I'm not a basher of either. At all. But the body bag matches between them were... awful You might not like it... It was a bodybag match from an MSG show in July of 1991. For what it is and whose in it, its way better than I expected it to be.

I'm no Undertaker supporter but he got a good match out of Ultimate Warrior.
-
Some of Parv's posts about Undertaker have been pretty funny but the funniest part is that Undertaker was just a few spots away from making his list despite all the shit talking.

Who are the Top 10 CHOPPERS of all time?
DR Ackermann replied to JerryvonKramer's topic in Pro Wrestling
From Flair's book: "The knife-edged chops that have become such a big part of my routine were largely inspired by Wahoo and Terry Funk." "As much as there's a lot of Wahoo in those chops, someone else deserves credit, too: Terry Funk. When he was the NWA World Champion, I watched him wrestle Paul Jones in Raleigh one night. Jones grabbed Terry's arm, and Terry started backhand-chopping the guy. A short time later, I began doing the same thing in my matches. I also copied Terry's habit of holding on to the ropes with one hand and chopping his opponent with the other." -

Yeah Wahoo was definitely a major influence as well. I think the holding the top rope while chopping the guy is a Funk thing as well. -
Have you seen his hour draw with Valentine? No, should I? Yeah. I think its pretty great. As far as hour draws go I think it's the second best I've seen after Bock/Hennig. It made me a fan of Backlund's.

I'm going to watch the first Clash match with Sting tomorrow and I'll keep all of that in mind when I do.

I like the idea of what you said before about variance in Flair's chops, but I've never picked up on any of that. Likewise, I've never seen the level of nuance in Flair's work in general that others have raved about. On the other hand, I love Lawler's punches and I feel like he adjusts them to milk dramatic moments in a way that is very gratifying. There's somewhat of a catharsis to them which I think is in large part to Lawler's timing as the same effect is there when he is working heel and on the receiving end of a comeback flurry from somewhat like Dundee.
