Rude pounds on a speed bag with Warrior’s face on it. He again demonstrates the ability to chat while doing some type of physical activity. Rude has legit KO power.

[1990-04-20-USWA Texas] Jerry Lawler vs Jeff Jarrett
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in April 1990
Lawler tries to give Jarrett the option of backing out of the match. Jerry showing off his Fargo strut. He’s having fun and getting on the mic again trying to ask Jarrett if he wants to avoid wrestling match. Back from commercial and Lawler already has a chain in his fist. He gets on the Von Erich Claw also. Jarrett gets the chain at the end and knocks Lawler out for the three. But he stupidly raises his hands right in front of the ref withe chain around his fist. Easy for ref to reverse the decision. Big heel beatdown of Jarrett and Dundee. Billy Jo Travis comes to the aid. I’m not remembering his face turn nor liking this change.- 15 replies

[1990-04-20-NWA-Power Hour] Midnight Express vs Brian Pillman & Tom Zenk
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in April 1990
Eaton gets backdropped to the floor and looked like he could have torn up his knee on it. Ross is talking about college football. Cornette gets nailed by Zenk. No real build up to that happening. Lane misses two consecutive charges into the corner which allows Zenk to tag in Pillman. Brian likes going to the top. Ha, Cornette gets his revenge as he tosses racket to Lane who uses it on Pillman. -
[1990-04-19-AJPW-Championship Carnival] Jumbo Tsuruta vs Genichiro Tenryu
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in April 1990
Chaos early as Hansen attacked Jumbo and knocks down the ref. Lariat for Tenryu who is out cold. Jumbo hits the ring. Hansen gets on the mic and says he should be number on contender. I’m not reading the match listing on this so looks like Hansen was just hanging out ringside before all this and not official involved in match. Tenryu is ready go and both men start with the big moves early. Jumbo takes over the match until Tenryu gets the enziguri. A fan on the crowd spun his jacket in the air after this. Sloppy reversal on a These press into stungun. Jumbo ends up putting Tenryu away pretty convincingly. Match was one sided but Tenryu was always playing from behind due to the Hansen prematch attack. Jumbo calls out Hansen and they brawl along with Hansen beating up the ring boys. When I finally go through the 80's AJPW set, be interesting to view this one again.- 14 replies

[1990-04-18-USWA-Evansville TV] Chris Champion & Mike Awesome local promo
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in April 1990
Chris Champion is the Stan Lane of 1990 where I can’t keep my eyes of their hair. Awesome is really goofy in this.- 10 replies

[1990-04-15-UWF-Fighting Area] Yoshiaki Fujiwara vs Kazuo Yamazaki
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in April 1990
Fujiwara getting his leg kicked but able to turn an off balanced Kazuo into an armbar was sweet. Fujiwara adds some foot biting when he has the knee bar on. Guy is really growing on me. Lots of putting a leg lock on only for the other guy, usually Fujiwara reversing for his own. Fujiwara gets German suplexed but the referee is not counting. Don’t know why but it doesn’t matter as he takes a head kick for the KO. Nice surprising result here.- 18 replies

[1990-04-15-UWF-Fighting Area] Nobuhiko Takada vs Yoji Anjo
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in April 1990
Ah, Takada. Anjo looks like he was going to spill over the top rope at some point. I don’t like when Takada makes it seem like he knocked out on those 10 counts for the first few seconds and then jumps up to his feet about 7 and ready to go. Crowd was getting behind Anjo but this match wasn’t really for me. -
[1990-04-15-UWF-Fighting Area] Akira Maeda vs Tatsuo Nakano
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in April 1990
Some of those knees looked painful. Both guys exchange a couple headbutts. Nakano has some good fire but seems outmatched on strikes. Crowd is into Nakano. Maeda with a German suplex while holding the bridge. Nakano gets off some kicks but it was Maeda playing him into the capture suplex and ankle submission. Fun spirited match.- 12 replies

[1990-04-15-WWF-Wrestling Challenge] Jack Tunney statement
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in April 1990
Tunney makes a big statement that the Intercontinental Title will be vacant due to Warrior also being WWF Champion. Well, they ha to get the IC Title off him at this point. A tournament will be set up. -
Haynes as his hair all slick to confirm his heel change. Tori looked different before she went to WWF.
-
Favorite part of this was the three heel wrestlers holding back the one referee. Some miscalculation leads to Haynes thinking he was hit by Larry Oliver and then turns on his tag partners. Rip tries to protect his son and gets caned. Haynes rips off his Oregon tights and slams his home state.

[1990-04-14-PNW-TV] Scotty the Body Arm Wrestling Challenge
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in April 1990
Could $100 take your kids to Disney World is 1990? Inflation sure has got crazy. Scotty easily wins arm wrestling contest. Then to my surprise Piper shows up to challenge Scotty. Very theatrical performance by both men. Piper wins and gives the money away to fans. -
Atlas sure gets to the point. I never knew he could do these type of promos.

[1990-04-14-NWA-World Championship Wrestling] "THINK IT OVER, CREEP!"
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in April 1990
Oh my. They build to Sting having a huge announcement, maybe the end of his career and we have Robocop show up. Ross does his best to be serious. -
Gibson actually makes sense on his promo and provides some sign language when Ricky speaks. Quick first fall with the Express winning with double dropkick. Express go for the double dropkick again but Garvin grabs Hayes foot. Hayes puts DDT on Morton. Third fall and Freebirds continue to work the neck. Gibson takes a beating for a while in the third fall and Morton gets to make the hot tag in. Morton wins win a roll up. Post match beating and Hayes gets a weapon from ringside. Ross gets all mad at this and they refuse to show anymore of this beating. Didn’t think it was that over the top to take that view. I'm not much of a Freebirds fan. Shocking that Hayes was only 31 at this point.

[1990-04-14-NWA-World Championship Wrestling] Ric Flair and Lex Luger
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in April 1990
Luger quickly interrupts an interview with Flair and Woman. Flair smacks Luger in the face and then uses Woman as a shield. Ole hits the ring and Luger fights him off. Irish whip and a press slam for Flair which seems like a bizarre move for this type of altercation. Here’s Arn with Woman’s shoe. Luger left laying. -
[1990-04-14-WWF-Superstars] Dusty Rhodes vs Bobby Salsa
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in April 1990
I’m thinking Jesse doesn’t sound like he cares much but does his usual strong comments when he sees the heels suffer injustice. Macho and Sherri attack Rhodes and Sapphire. Sherri really beat up Sapphire here. Sherri has to roll Sapphire over as too heavy to drag her. Dusty comes to the aid of Sapphire before she has to kiss Macho’s feet. -
Rude does his promo as he lifts weights which is pretty impressive to have to focus on talking and lifting. They zoom into his face though so who knows if they had someone off camera assisting him. His face as the video ended was pretty funny.

[1990-04-14-WWF-Superstars] Brother Love: Rhythm & Blues
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in April 1990
Honky and Valentine talk about the success of their new single at WrestleMania until Luke and Butch interfered. They are going to destroy the Bushwhackers. Not exactly the team you want to be feuding with. Valentine does not look right with the black hair. -
[1990-04-13-NWA-Power Hour] Sting and Ole Anderson
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in April 1990
Ole is such a wonderful ass here. Pretending to not hear Sting about whether he was retiring. Ole advises Sting to not be at Capitol Punishment. Sting makes it clear that he will be there.- 11 replies

[1990-04-13-WWF/AJPW Summit] Hulk Hogan vs Stan Hansen
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in April 1990
Hansen knocking over Mel Phillips while he was doing the introduction and then whipping him was awesome. Hogan with a drop toe hold! Hansen gets the best out of the slugging exchange but eats post outside. Crowd gets antsy about a count out finish and cheers when it gets back in the ring. Hogan takes a chair shot to the head. Some fan at ringside gets real protective of him and keeps touching him. Was waiting for Hansen to pop her in the mouth. Both men bloody now. Hogan tries using the bullrope but gets whipped. More of a pro Hansen crowd at this point. Hansen can't hit the lariat and Hogan missed the leg drop. Hogan wins after getting his own lariat off a counter. Hogan adjusts very well to wrestling in Japan.- 18 replies

[1990-04-13-WWF/AJPW Summit] Ultimate Warrior vs Ted DiBiase
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in April 1990
Fans start chanting for both guys strikes. Seems like they are more amusing themselves then anything. This includes big buildups to a suplex and piledriver by Dibiase. Crowd was not too impressed with Warrior.- 13 replies

[1990-04-13-WWF/AJPW Summit] Randy Savage vs Genichiro Tenryu
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in April 1990
Macho and Sherri go the wrong direction to the ring and have security chase after them. Savage getting lots of heat. Big chop take down by Tenryu. Sherri doing lots of distracting. Savage and Sherri getting into it with people ring side. Savage seems to be enjoying himself. Tenryu does a big sell job for Sherri by falling over the railing. Savage in control until he hurts his knee and immediately gets put away by Tenryu. Out of nowhere finish but still a fun match.- 19 replies
