Buster is able to do a short interview pretty decently. He seemed to enjoy being involved in everything.- 9 replies

Dino Bravo number one contender for IC Title. Side slam and Warrior hulks up and finishes him off. Bravo too gets up rather quickly after the pinfall as he joins up with Earthquake to double team Warrior. Hogan says he will watch Warrior’s back for now as he wants him at his best come WrestleMania. Warrior’s turn and Gene has that look on his face where he has no clue what Warrior is talking about. Warrior is so over the top. Hillarious.

[1990-02-23-WWF-The Main Event] Hulk Hogan vs Randy Savage
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in February 1990
Savage made all this. Fun promo beforehand and thought they match was solid overall. Savage did pop up really fast after the leg drop/pinfall though. I guess they had to get to the post match again as quick as possible.- 15 replies

I didn't sen my first NWA/WCW program until 1994. I moved to the States in 88 but being the youngest in the family I had no seniority when he came to control of the TV remote. I'd watch WWF when I could but we ended up ditching cable about a year or so later. Fell out of the loop of wrestling in the early 90's outside of catching a random episode of Superstars in syndication. I was aware of WCW from seeing tapes of PPVs in video stores and playing video games. When I got back into watching WWF in early 94, I tried to watch all the wrestling I could and came across WCW Worldwide on a local channel late at night. I could really only watch it during the summer time though as I believe it was on a thursday night. Finally got cable again in 95 so at that point I was able to watch TBS.
-
El-P, wish you were watching all of the yearbooks as your WCW posts have been entertaining. It will be interesting to see your thoughts of WCW through 94 as the year proceeds.

Yeah, Ross got right to the point in the tag match. Just about to watch Luger/Flair now and I'm all out of whiskey. Halloween Havoc still looks scary on paper.

[1990-02-23-USWA Texas] Jerry Lawler vs Bill Dundee
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in February 1990
Lawler uses a chair right in front of the ref so must be some kind of stips. They really got Lawler boot off pretty easily. Too bad there wasn't more of the match since we had previous USWA TX matches in full.- 10 replies

Good stuff. Couldn't help notice once Flair gets bloodied up that they don't go to any close ups. There is also some lucha type random crowd shots. Did WCW have a no blood policy at this time or was it just the time of day the show is on?

[1990-02-17-USWA-Championship Sports] Music Video: Bill Dundee
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in February 1990
I like Dundee driving down the road with his blinker on. Enjoyed this one with Dundee acting out the lyrics of the song. Jimmy Hart with the Moondogs. They sure go deep into the archives in USWA.- 13 replies

Really good match. I compared this one more to the Zenk match. Thought Zenk got in way too much offense in that match. Here it's a few minutes shorter but I buy Pillman as more of a credible challenger. Flair being heel here helped though I felt like he won this one more clean than the Zenk match. Nice finish with it looking like Pillman will get the win but Flair reverses. Luger's response to the Horsemen is pretty clear as he decks Ole and the rest before walking off. Heated segment.
-
Horsemen trying to intimidate Luger in the same fashion of Sting at the Clash though less time to think about it. Ole makes the same offer to pass on the Title shot against Flair. Luger finds this to be a laughing matter which doesn’t please Ole.

[1990-02-17-NWA-World Championship Wrestling] Interview: Sting
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in February 1990
Ross mentions that Luger will now be taking Sting’s place in match against Ric Flair. Sting will be pulling for Luger as he just wants to see Flair lose the title. Kind of felt that Sting shouldn't have worn glasses in this segment. -
Pillman stands up for Sting and calls out Flair. Ric shows up with Woman along. So he'd been turning her down and now she just appears at his side. Flair issues a challenge to Pillman tonight. Pillman gives us the rundown on Flair’s wardrobe.

[1990-02-17-NWA-Worldwide] Midnight Express vs Brian Pillman & Tom Zenk
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in February 1990
Good little match that thought Express would be victors but they seemed to be playing catch up the whole time. Zenk looked to have made a mistake by putting Cornette in sleeper and exposing himself to get hit from behind. But he kicks out. Faces pull out the sneaky victory without using a legal tag. Cornette does his flopping on the mat tantrum. -
[1990-02-17-USWA-Memphis TV] Jerry Lawler Loves Wrestling Fans
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in February 1990
The studio audience really does enjoy when Lawler rips on them. One of the audience members says Lawler "wears pink and he stinks". She was gearing to go with Lawler but I still give him the victory.- 12 replies

[1990-02-17-USWA-Memphis TV] Interview: Jerry Lawler
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in February 1990
Jerry is a delight to listen to. He busts out the wrestling magazines to prove his world wide stance in wrestling. Showing off him being in the top 10 of the PWI rankings. Guess that's were Gilbert came up with that one two years later. Lawler claims to be the only World Champion recognized in two federations.- 12 replies

The use of the chain sure gets done a lot as a finish. Lawler questions why the match was restarted. He doesn't seen anything wrong with him originally winning. Poor Dave Brown takes another verbal shot by Lawler.

[1990-02-17-WWF-Superstars] Brother Love: Ted DiBiase, Slick & Akeem
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in February 1990
Slick and Akeem on the Brother Love show to run down Boss Man. About the most of Akeem promo time I’ve seen. Dibiase makes an appearance and makes an financial offer to Slick and Akeem to get rid of Boss Man. Agreed with that this has been executed pretty well by all the parties.- 11 replies

[1990-02-17-WWF-Superstars] Hulk Hogan and Ultimate Warrior promos
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in February 1990
Are the children really asking Hogan to look at the veins of the Ultimate Warrior? Hogan is checking out Warrior’s body in WWF Magazine. He can’t be real. Well yeah. Warrior says that he is the one that made Hogan breathe or breed? It could be either one.- 16 replies

Match listing says barbed wire but not seeing any. Oh, it’s outside the ring on boards. So it feels like a battle royal where you are trying to eliminate your opponent to the outside. Onita is the first to fall outside on the barbed wire. And the ref starts a count so he has to quickly remove himself from barbed wire to get back in. That's pretty vicious in thought. Kurisu goes to work with stomps on Onita’s gash on his back. Seemed to be a bit too much laying around at times on the edge of the mat.

[1990-02-11-WWF-Wrestling Challenge] Bret Hart vs Shawn Michaels
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in February 1990
The European uppercut/backslide reversal looked really smooth. Quick action paced match. Outside tag partners get involved. Too bad they didn’t get more time. Good addition in the yearbook setting as it’s the beginning 90’s wise of what happens between these two guys over the years. -
Jarrett is very serious in his promos and low key too. He hasn't shown much so far. Dundee has more fire and makes some rather rude comments about Garvin.

[1990-02-10-USWA-Championship Sports] Interview: Jerry Lawler
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in February 1990
Lawler makes lots of short Dundee jokes. Jerry thinks upcoming six man match with be a blow out. It will be so one sided that they will put the second string (Garvin) in to finish off the match. Nice way to talk about your tag partner.- 11 replies
