Check out the wiff on that double drop kick. And they include it in a video package. Another botch on a roll up! An awkward looking powerslam. Sheesh.

King Fish. Gold Fish. I don’t know why but I was dying laughing at this. Maybe the editing of this as the promo before was Lawler being serious and upset at not having the title. But Valiant’s video was so ridiculous.

Lawler uses his connections to order some new studio furniture. Lawler tries to make a case that he should have got disqualified in his match with Valiant and not lose the title. He does make some sense here.

[1990-03-03-USWA-Memphis TV] Jerry Lawler vs Jimmy Valiant
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in March 1990
Valiant cleverly steals Lawler’s foreign object. Referee takes a fire ball to the face from Lawler. Valiant gets the roll up and wins title when other ref comes in.- 10 replies

[1990-03-03-WWF-Superstars] Hulk Hogan and Ultimate Warrior promos
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in March 1990
Hogan thinks about slipping on Godzilla’s banana peel at WrestleMania. That’s a way to convince yourself to do the job. Warrior talks of lack of communication and why Hogan won’t talk to him. I’m just cracking up at this. Warrior talks about injecting Hogan. These guys are crazy.- 10 replies

[1990-03-02-USWA Texas] Jerry Lawler vs Jimmy Valiant
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in March 1990
Staling to start with Valiant playing some mind games on Lawler. They finally lock up for the first action but quickly go to commercial break. Ha. Lawler quickly goes to his tights to get an object. Lawler with the flying headbutt! But it misses. Foreign object finally gets him the victory.- 11 replies

It funny to see Foley just standing in the background and not saying much. Mad Dog admits his guilt for something but Sullivan yells at him for saying that.

I like how their video cards list either tecnico or rudo for each guy. Good mat work early. The tecnicos are very weary of the rudos and keep going over to their corner to keep things in order. Top rope breaks on an irish whip and Pierroth spills to the outside! This all leads to tecnicos winning first fall. Pierroth didn’t look too good there and he’s not out there for second fall so handicap match now. Estrada almost landed on his face/neck all wrong when he fell off the second rope. There is some arguing on the technico side and I’m kind of confused what brought this on. Third fall. I thought the tombstone was illegal in lucha? Match seemed to fall apart after Pierroth getting hurt. Seemed like they were trying to play up the tecnico issues but I would have called an audible and had the tecnicos win on two straight falls since they had the numbers advantage.

Joe wearing all red but makes sure his belt and shoes are matching white. We only get the last few minutes but just had me thinking how Japan has been pretty quiet so far outside of the AJPW guys showing up on a NJPW show.

[1990-03-02-Hamada's UWF] Perro Aguayo vs Gran Hamada
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in March 1990
We get some one camera only going into the crowd brawling. Hamada tries to keep in the ring. Ref bump is goofy with Aguayo having to change his angle in an attempt to make it seem like he was going to clothesline ref. Hamada dropkicks the ref so we get a disqualification. Match continues though as another fall. Attitude Adjustment by Aguayo. His punches sound pretty good. I wouldn’t waste my time trying to back body drop Hamada. Aguayo ends up destroying Hamada for the victory. It was more interesting when they were in the ring and stayed away from the outside brawling.- 11 replies

[1990-03-02-Hamada's UWF] Negro Casas vs Yoshinari Asai
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in March 1990
Asai likes his jumping kicks. Casas busting out the power moves. Casas gets cocky and turns his back as Asai makes him pay hitting a bunch of moves to put him away. Good action.- 10 replies

[1990-02-27-UWF-Road] Nobuhiko Takada vs Yoshiaki Fujiwara
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in February 1990
They really work the elbow/collar lock up early. Heavy breathing! Takada misses consecutive wild kick attempts and Fujiwara is just waiting for third one to turn into a submission. Fujiwara has some interesting strike defense by just turning his body to the side and shrugging off the blows. Takada is one of my least favorite wrestlers on these yearbooks but I'm getting into Fujiwara. Disappointed that he didn’t get headbutted to the face more.- 28 replies

[1990-02-25-NWA-Wrestle War '90] Ric Flair vs Lex Luger
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in February 1990
Luger’s hair looking really flat in his pre match promo. Funk makes fun of Monsoon’s overused “It’s a happening” line. Thought we were going to get a Sting/Flair confrontation at the stage as Sting was heading up that way just before Flair entered. Ringside security is very active making fans stay in their seats. Luger with a variation of a bearhug that becomes a pinfall attempt. Ross brings up Lex’s GPA so I take a drink. Luger’s figure four attempt is unique. Ross nicely says that it was awful. Good stuff overall. Not as high on it as you guys but it's still a very good match. Luger was pretty fired up when he needed to be. Count out finish was kind of lame but finish you would expect at this point. -
[1990-02-25-NWA-Wrestle War '90] Midnight Express vs Rock & Roll Express
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in February 1990
Fan has a "We've Herd enough" sign and gets paid a visit by Doug Dillinger. Gets to keep his sign though. Beginning stuff was a blast. Fun tag team wrestling. Cornette gets really worked up at one point against Nick Patrick and looks like they are ready to go. Cornette of course backs off when he realizes Patrick is fired up himself. Crowd was eating this up. Cornette was providing a lot of physical comedy. Midnights teased some issues. Excellent match. -

[1990-02-24-NWA-World Championship Wrestling] Lex Luger vs Rick Fargo

Luger practically dead lifts his opponent into the Torture Rack. Horsemen come to ringside but Steiners come out to even things out. Horsemen back off. -

[1990-02-24-USWA-Memphis TV] Jerry Lawler vs The Destroyer

[1990-02-24-USWA-Memphis TV] Jerry Lawler vs Ben Jordan
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in February 1990
Lawler is still angry from previous segment and takes it out on Gordon. Champion comes out to help Gordon and takes a piledriver on the floor. Lawler stops over by Brown for a little play by play. Jerry is angry. Lawler throws a punch at one point where Gordon bumps for it a bit too early.- 12 replies

Fuller has a melt down over his tag team’s lack of success lately putting blame on Lee. Brian puts blame Fuller’s lady and pushes him to do the ground. Fuller looks to back down and apologize but then attacks Lee. Yeah, you don’t need him Robert! I like how Dave casually does play by play during this and trying to get the mic in everyone’s face. Von Erich is missing part of his shirt. Lawler is too quick witted for Kerry calling him “Brain Damage” and where he should be facing the camera. Ha, props to Kerry for just blasting Lawler with a bucket of water. Dave wants to know if Lawler wants to do his interview now. Lawler gets heated when he gets Valiant on the phone alluding to losing to Harley Race due to Valiant’s interference. Jerry doesn’t have his appetite anymore for his food order.

[1990-02-24-WWF-Superstars] Brother Love: Jake Roberts & Big Boss Man
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in February 1990
More fun from these guys. Roberts matches words with Brother Love. Boss Man is guest of Jake and hits a one liner before him and Roberts leave. Love runs his mouth thinking they are out of range. Not too smart when you are talking on a mic in an arena. Bossman returns and promptly arrests Brother Love ands beats him up.- 11 replies
