[1994-08-24-WCW-Clash of the Champions XXVIII] Music Video: Honky Tonk Man
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in August 1994
Full music video with a song sounding similar to Honky's WWF entrance theme. It's a decent video but the song lacks the WWF's theme's charm.- 6 replies

Austin can't get disqualified here or he loses the title. Heenan is wearing a neck brace. Distractions aside with the continuing Hogan injury angle, this is a pretty good match. The wrestling is very good as they do very well reversing one another's moves. Cool little sequence with each guy attempting a sleeperhold for sleeperhold but continuously having it reversed. Steamboat gets injured with taking an awkward bump on his lower back. He still attempts a top rope suplex right after that Austin does reverse. Steamboat does win the title but it is sad to see this will be it for him at this time.

That line pretty much kills any attempt for me taking this segment serious. Tony's delivery of it was great. Anyways, when do you ever see this many people come out when a wrestler gets attacked? Gene tries to upstage Raymond Rougeau for most inappropriate time to do an interview.

Struggled to get into this match as first part of match wasn't too great. Seemed like they were just taking turns doing submissions on each other to waste time. It's drags for a while and then out of nowhere they start busting big moves out and each other with lots of kick outs. Felt like there was no real middle of the match. The ending is a bit exciting until they don't hit the Ocean Suplex correctly. Couldn't tell if that ending was the plan either but it was a real risky move for Toyota as she hadn't be exactly wrestling a clean match. Could have made for an easy botch jumping off the ropes like that and trying to hit sunset flip.

[1994-08-23-ECW-TV] Interview: Paul E. Dangerously
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in August 1994
Heyman does another of his promos where he questions how possible he could hype the upcoming card when that's exactly what he does. He puts over the tournament and it's importance in crowning the new NWA Champion and how Funk pulled out of tournament just to go up against the Public Enemy. -
[1994-08-20-WCW-Saturday Night] Interview: Dusty & Dustin Rhodes

Dustin gives a really good fired up promo. Well done when you are on the same stage as Dusty.- 6 replies

Bob Caudel gives the disclaimer for the Gangstas. New Jack has some kind words for the NAACP and even has some visuals as he eats watermelon and chicken. I wish they had camera shots of the crowd so I could see the reactions on their faces.

[1994-08-20-USWA-TV] Brian Christopher on crutches
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in August 1994
Christopher gets hurt at a softball or softbrawl game at Tim McCarver Stadium. He ends up getting his X-Rays ripped up and beat with his own crutches. Gilbert gets fined and suspended and his hair matches seemed to have been cancelled. -
[1994-08-20-USWA-TV] Interview: Buddy Landell, Tommy Rich & Doug Gilbert
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in August 1994
Good promo by Landell but I think he needs to keep his robe closed when he is talking. -
[1994-08-20-USWA-TV] Eddie Marlin and Doug Gilbert
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in August 1994
Randy Hales gets a quick trim from Doug Gilbert, Tommy Rich and the rest. Marlin has had enough of officials getting beat up so he puts Gilbert's hair on the line for his next five matches. Seems like kind of overdoing it. -
[1994-08-19-AAA] Konnan & Cien Caras vs El Satanico & Perro Aguayo
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in August 1994
I was so lost here. First I think it's a tag match but why are the refs not getting guys out of the ring and Konnan is just standing on the apron. Then I was thinking it was some type of handicap match or maybe a four way match. Satanico and Aguayo go at it and first fall seems to end with a DQ. Konnan and Sananico beat on Aguayo for a while and then Caras who has just been standing around decides he has had enough. Many runs in commence with loads of guys getting involved. It seemed heat. -
This is more like it for me with Vader involved. Really good match and one of the few of these match types that I am able to really enjoy. Takada unleashes a ton of kicks at Vader to get him down a few times. Loved the powerbomb by Vader but felt Takada got up a bit too easy at that point of the match when he had already taken a beating. I also like how much they put over the title with Thesz just being there involved.

[1994-08-16-ECW-TV] Interview: Cactus Jack & Terry Funk
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in August 1994
Terry is a bit rambling at first but he puts over Cactus as someone he really respects and they do a little back and forth with one another. Cactus and him agree to be tag team partners. -
Playing off their King of the Ring match, The Kid is now ready for Owen’s pre match sneak attack attempt. Kid also gets his own slidding dropkick to the outside on Hart. It's a step below the King of the Ring match which is understandable as they can't match that pace. But we get a longer which is still pretty good. The DQ finish kind of ruins things as Neidhart ran in to interfere when Owen was in middle of ring in submission. Owen needed to go over here as challenger for WWF Title.

[1994-08-13-ECW-Hardcore Heaven] Cactus Jack vs Terry Funk
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in August 1994
The crowd size at the Arena is starting to get bigger compared to earlier in the year. That's a lot of chairs. Somebody could have really got hurt there. -
[1994-08-13-USWA-TV] Jeff Gaylord update / Interview: Sid Vicious
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in August 1994
Jeff says he is going to do the same damage to Sid but probably more. Probably? Way to get us all to rally behind you with that passionate promo. -
[1994-08-13-USWA-TV] Interview: Brian Christopher & Buddy Landell
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in August 1994
It's not the $30! It's the principle of the whole matter. Hopefully we get something more on this set from Buddy. -
[1994-08-13-WWF-Superstars] Heartbreak Hotel: Jim Cornette
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in August 1994
They are building a future Yokozuna/Undertaker match but I can't help but feel that Michaels is trying to upstage the whole thing. I know it's his interview segment but as heel, he should not be interviewing other heels in this manner. We get more hotel puns. -
[1994-08-13-PWFG-Future Star II] Carl Greco vs Shoichi Funaki
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in August 1994
Technically it was fine and it had some needed pace to it. Different look for Funaki. These matches are still a struggle for me though.
