[1991-09-07-WCW-Saturday Night] Interview: The Enforcers
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in September 1991
It’s a good combo but I’m hoping they get the quality tag teams to go up against.- 7 replies

[1991-09-07-WCW-Saturday Night] Control Center
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in September 1991
Luger and Simmons is main event for Havoc with two out of three falls stipulation. I must have missed that one from previous contract signing. Clip from Omni of Luger piledriving Simmons on chair to win match. Missy is a heel again being charmed by Lex and wanting nothing to do with Simmons barging in on her interview.- 6 replies

[1991-09-07-USWA-Memphis TV] Jerry Lawler and Eric Embry
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in September 1991
Lawler is world champion again. I just want to see Dragon Master in the ring but again we get no clips. Miss Texas has a shaved head. Embry ends up hitting Pritchard by mistake causing him to lose. Embry and Pritchard have a big verbal spat that looks to get physical but surprisingly doesn’t. -
I did not get the rules much as I watched. From reading above the whole taking the first fall and then sit on the second fall reminds me of major soccer tournaments where guys with a certain amount of yellow cards will intentionally get another to sit out a meaningless game if they already qualified for next round. I had thought Konnan was eliminated for good so him coming back was disappointing. He really needed to lose and get that hair cut.

Not much of a match to determine the tag titles. Steiner was going all alone until Kazamier tagged himself in. He gets pinned seconds later as the Enforcers immediately target his injured ribs. How even did Steiner/Kazamier get to the finals in the first place.

They are really pushing Simmons hard. Someone with positive attitude being there for the kids. Luger makes a late arrival to contract signing. Lex talks about Simmons becoming the first black world heavyweight champion. But he’s not being genuine as he offers a position to Simmons of being his driver instead. Simmons flies into a fury and goes after Luger. At least they are trying to establish Simmons as a challenger.

[1991-09-05-WCW-Clash of the Champions XVI] Interview: Ron Simmons
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in September 1991
Diamond Studd was his opponent? Yeah, they need a much stronger win going into Havoc. Luger appears to be dodging Simmons.- 6 replies

So after almost two years of drinking games, Jim Ross talking football excessively and liver damage, we get a payoff as FSU coach Bobby Bowden puts over Ron Simmons.

[1991-09-05-WCW-Clash of the Champions XVI] Sting and Cactus Jack
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in September 1991
There must a store right near the arena that was selling these giant gift boxes. Cactus thinks it’s Abdullah but out pops Sting. I wouldn’t have put this segment on the same show as I liked Cactus laying out Sting earlier. But at least we got a feud that has some life to it in WCW.- 6 replies

Bischoff looks so fake. Kazamier out to set test of strength record. Need Ventura to assist. Enforcers thankfully break things up quickly by attacking Kazamier.

[1991-09-05-WCW-Clash of the Champions XVI] Sting vs Johnny B. Badd
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in September 1991
Sting seems to be in the mid card at this point. He’s losing to Koloff and now squeaking out pinfalls against someone like Badd who is not established yet. There is a big box on the ramp that gets everyone’s attention. Cactus attacks Sting including the elbow to the floor outside. We didn’t actually see Cactus come out of the box. Cactus will make for Sting’s best opponent in a while.- 9 replies

[1991-09-05-WCW-Clash of the Champions XVI] Brian Pillman vs Badstreet
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in September 1991
Pillman returns and he was doing about everything out there to establish the new division. Dangerous looking suplex to outside with Pillman smacking his back into ring apron and Badstreet almost landing on his head. Pillman then flies not once but twice into the guardrail. The second one was pretty crazy especially when they show the slow motion replay after match. Fun match and yes the crowd was noticeably into it.- 10 replies

I’ve missed Kendo but his antics didn’t seem the same nor was he over as much with crowd. Guys seems to be going from either standing around to then hitting high spots. Too much guys waiting for their cues to me.

[1991-09-04-AJPW-Summer Action Series II] Stan Hansen vs Kenta Kobashi
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in September 1991
What a start with Hansen hitting the lariat before the match even starts. Kobashi takes a powerbomb right on the floor. Tough opening stretch to match for him. He gets a table thrown at him too. He’s taking a big beating. He shows great spirit fighting back and really testing Stan towards the end. Excellent match.- 15 replies

Taue gets booed every time he tags in. He seems to get the most heel reaction of anyone in AJPW. Misawa gets treatment on his shoulder which leaves Kawada alone for a while. Misawa looks strong kicking out of some big moves. He already lost to Jumbo during the year and his wins over Gordy weren’t very convincing so this was a big win to get Jumbo to submit in the middle of the ring. Nice ending to good match. Misawa continues his climb towards 92.

[1991-09-01-WWF-Wrestling Challenge] Closing comments
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in September 1991
Monsoon is a big believer in there being only one recognized world champion. -
I’m surprised Rude hasn’t shown up in WCW by now. Rude and Honky Tonk Man debate who is the greatest IC champion of all time. Got two guys talking about a title from another wrestling organization. There should be a poll for worst interviewer of all time with Tony Rumble as a favorite.

[1991-08-31-USWA-Memphis TV] Interview: Jerry Lawler & Dutch Mantel
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in August 1991
Oh, I wanted to see clips of the match with Dragon Master winning title. Lawler found himself someone to keep an eye on Christopher Love. Dutch Mantell off the set of Desperados! Jerry says he will help him find Stan Hansen. That was funny. -
[1991-08-31-WWF-Superstars] Funeral Parlor: Bobby Heenan
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in August 1991
Even Paul Bearer recognizes the journalistic skills of Bobby Heenan. Brain has Flair’s belt. Bobby runs down Hogan as champion. Heenan takes some shots at Piper which is just going to make Flair’s plate full having to deal with both Hogan and Piper. There was a crowd shot that seemed totally out of place. Piper confronts Heenan and ends up spitting on the belt and throwing it down on floor. More disrespect of belt. -
Casas did look different so it being from another year could make sense. The boxing match to start the third fall was nice. Third fall was enjoyable.

[1991-08-26-WWF-Summerslam] A MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in August 1991
Summerslam 91 had to be one of the biggest send fans home happy of all time with the faces winning most of the biggest matches on the show. Straight up wedding with things going as planned for the wedding. The regular Summerslam show ends as that. Here, we get the post show wedding reception. JJ Dillon! The snake being one of the gifts is awesome. Roberts shows up. What a fun segment.- 11 replies

No this match wasn't very good. As one sided as can be with Slaughter doing the work for his team. Warrior bails during the match to go after Mustafa and Adnan. Seemed so weak since he never returned. Hogan gets the pinfall on Slaughter.

[1991-08-26-WWF-Summerslam] Interview: Hulk Hogan & Ultimate Warrior

Warrior is ready to get in his cab and get the hell out of here. Warrior is ready to stand side by side with Hogan. -
[1991-08-26-WWF-Summerslam] Legion of Doom vs Nasty Boys
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in August 1991
Piper says LOD stands for "Look out dummy" which has me laughing thinking about Rocco. Big moment for LOD to win WWF tag titles to go along with AWA and NWA tag team titles. Fun match and I love the doomsday device finish.
