[1991-11-13-WWF-New Haven, CT] Ric Flair vs Bret Hart
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in November 1991
I believe correct date for this match is November 13th. On the recent Bret dvd he talks about initial meeting with Flair where Ric had high praise of Hart’s work. He respected Flair at time of match so he let Flair dictate the action. Again, he feels Flair didn’t have any ring psychology. Bret thinks this match was a change of the guard from Flair’s era on to Bret’s era where they did more as far as excitement and action. On to match. Fink botches the introduction for Mr. Perfect. Agreed that the make fine opponents for one another. It may be the Flair formula but he feels fresh in a way working with someone new and getting away from WCW. Perfect doesn’t get involved too much until the end. Bret pulls down both his straps like he is Lawler. Really good match for both guys at this time. -
Too bad they couldn’t get Jobs or Gates to be a special manager for the York Foundation. Zenk might be one of the last guys to be able no sell turnbuckle shots. Big Josh deservingly gets a computer to the head after showing compassion during the match. The computer log on got the better of him.

[1991-11-10-SWS] Genichiro Tenryu vs Ashura Hara
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in November 1991
SWS hasn’t really given us a great match during the earlier yearbooks. This is pretty stiff but I’m more curious about the possibility of Haku being involved in more matches.- 9 replies

[1991-11-09-WCW-Saturday Night] Lex Luger and Rick Steiner
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in November 1991
Lex dressing up like the terrorist security guard from Die Hard. Rick thinks he can beat everyone. Yep, Luger taking a corner backdrop while wearing slacks did remind me of Flair. Steiner has suplexes for everyone including getting the “pinfall” over Lex in the ring.- 8 replies

[1991-11-09-USWA-Memphis TV] Interview: Jerry Lawler
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in November 1991
Lawler is now wearing his San Jose Sharks sweater. Can't wait until he busts out that Whalers sweater. Lawler talks about the knowledge he has relayed to Jarrett. Jerry gives us some history about how much his drawing has done for him as far as getting a chance in wrestling. Lawler is bigger than Elvis and the Beatles in Memphis. -
[1991-11-09-USWA-Memphis TV] Eric Embry vs Tom Prichard
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in November 1991
Decent TV match as they get some time and not quick interruptions. Embry picks up a solid victory with the DDT. Ah, the Moondogs. I think all Embry has to look forward to in 92 is getting kicked in the face by Tanaka. -
[1991-11-09-WWF-Superstars] Beverly Brothers and Jim Neidhart

They just hated his pants and wanted to stomp him in the legs as much as possible. -

Sarge has a crush on the Statue of Liberty. -
[1991-11-07-UWFi-Moving On 8] Nobuhiko Takada vs Bob Backlund
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in November 1991
I don't think Backlund has been good outside of his late 1994 run on these yearbooks. Takada isn't a favorite of mine so I was dreading this one. Backlund has a better showing then his previous UWFI where he submitted in a minute or so. I really wanted Backlund to put the crossface chickenwing on Takada.- 7 replies

Scott Steiner not ready to wrestle in New Japan yet. Norton is one of those guys I want to revisit but he’s not impressing me on these yearbooks. Muto went to the same barber as Jim Carrey from Dumb and Dumber. Rick’s release German on Muto was sick. Satisfying to see Hase get the pinfall on Steiner after Rick being an asshole during the match. Muto and Hase were game here.

[1991-11-05-NJPW-3 Days Battle] Riki Choshu vs Shinya Hashimoto
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in November 1991
NJPW feels out of place to me at Bodokan. This did feel rushed and it was Choshu firing off as many lariats as he could before putting down Hash for good.- 7 replies

[1991-11-04-WWF-Primetime Wrestling] Genichiro Tenryu in the studio
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in November 1991
Right away I'm wondering why Mooney repeatedly pronounces Tenryu's name wrong. Heenan is in full racist mode. They show very brief clip of SWS match. Tenryu may not speak english but he knows what a weasel is. Random is that they even had Tenryu on for this. Not like American fans would be following upcoming SWS shows.- 8 replies

Thomas Rich is now a part of the York Foundation. Big Josh’s log roll is silly but would still hurt to have someone jumping in your stomach like that. I wonder if Alexander York has some ridiculous sabermetric stats for wrestling like baseball does. Her computer has the winning formula for six man tags. The AJPW guys must be going nuts for this info.

[1991-11-03-WWF-Wrestling Challenge] Barber Shop: Hulk Hogan
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in November 1991
Brutus even gives a lousy intro for his best buddy Hogan. Hulk has been running off all challengers for 8 years. Undertaker will be no different. -
[1991-11-03-WWF-Wrestling Challenge] Sgt. Slaughter vignette

With all this history they should have done some Revolutionary War reenactment with Sarge doing his corner post charge into a British cannon. -
[1991-11-03-PWFG] Jerry Flynn vs Wellington Wilkins Jr
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in November 1991
The menu song for disc 26 is great. I didn't like the finish so much with the TKO but I can understand throwing it out there to mix things up. Nice to see Flynn get a win.- 8 replies

[1991-11-02-USWA-Memphis TV] Interview: Jerry Lawler
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in November 1991
I totally made reference to Nintendo and Vancouver Canucks in my notes and I see Pete has already beat me to it. I'm sure Jerry has won a couple ugliest sweater contests with this bad boy. Jerry thinks Jeff Gaylord is stupid. He even resurrects his 1990 dinosaur references. -
[1991-11-02-WWF-Superstars] Bret Hart and The Mountie
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in November 1991
Before the match starts Mountie wants to know from Bret why this match isn’t for the intercontinental title. We get a heavy dose of electric shock audio when Mountie attacks Bret. Mountie could have earned a title shot by just beating Hart in this match but would rather just piss him off instead I guess. He is the Mountie. -
[1991-11-02-WWF-Superstars] Funeral Parlor: The Undertaker
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in November 1991
So now Hogan is dealing with both Flair and Undertaker. Just seems to be a early 90’s WWF staple of guys lining up multiple feuds. Undertaker will be Hogan’s gravest challenge to date. He's definitely a serious challenger to him. -
[1991-11-02-WWF-Superstars] Interview: Hulk Hogan
Kevin Ridge replied to Loss's topic in November 1991
Hulk is hip to it. Thought he was ready to do a rap with PN News. Hogan built MSG. Bruno must have been lining up to do Donahue at that point.
