  1. What is this? I never knew they were talking up Flair before Summerslam. Heenan with WCW World Title. Flair may be joining WWF when his current contract expires. Heenan looking to be Flair’s advisor. I'm looking forward to seeing the arrival of Flair in WWF.
  2. Roberts locks Warrior in a room full of snakes. Warrior even kicks one of them. Some really cheesy acting by Warrior and the over the top camera angles WWF has been using a lot recently. Warrior gets bit by a snake and I think dies. Oh no! He busts through the door only to find Undertaker and Paul Bearer above him. Roberts tells Warrior to never trust a snake. Silly way to turn Roberts heel. Will have to see how this one continues.
  3. Set up a ring in an outdoor music venue. Headhunters look very skinny compared to later years. Nothing specials sums this one up.
  4. Pretty good match and nice to see Dandy again as he hasn't been featured much in 91 yearbook. He had pretty good exchanges with both Panther and Pierroth. Smiley was the one that impressed me though as outside of the little of WCW work I've seen this is probably the best I've seen him. He fit in good.
  5. There is some woman smoking a huge cigar which Mean Gene seems to really enjoy watching. This guest list is pretty small with unlikely people like Heenan and Slick being invited. Okerlund is the life of the party. Mooney is a party killer as he would rather plug Hulk Hogan’s hotline. Everyone gets more excited when the stripper shows up. They could have made this more funny if they switched up some of the guests. Heenan runs into Roberts in the hallway. Jake is not happy that he didn’t get invited to party. He has a few words for Warrior.
  6. Why is Luger even a bad guy? He's just really confident about himself more than anything. Race and Hughes haven’t really done anything to help him. This turn was just not handled properly.
  7. Big stare down to start. What I liked from Muto was some of those fancy looking submissions that guys put on for a couple seconds and then move on to other holds, well Muto was cranking them in for extended time. As good as I’ve seen either guy in a match. Near falls towards the end were great with a very intense crowd. Love the seat cushion tossing by fans. I don’t think it will be my MOTY but probably the best NJPW one so far as great emotion from everyone. Cool moment with Chono, Muto and Hash all in the ring together at end.
  8. Hash was kicking some ass there and Chono was barely hanging on. A well timed reversal gets Chono the momentum with a kick to the back of the knee. Hash fights off a couple STFs but Chono gets him to submit on third one. Strong win for Chono and a good match.
  9. Landell knocks Walker off the ropes and Patriot wins match. No rest period and Landell goes right after Patriot. Most of match of Landell dominating until Patriot hulks up and then wins with a school boy. Patriot had to wrestle five matches in tournament to win title. Would have liked to seen the brackets.
  10. Cox is an idiot! Lane wants to nail his opponent with the racket but Cox gets in the way. Cox ends up getting pinned from behind. Lane and Cornette do a number on Cox after the match. Well deserved.
  11. Race seemed to age a lot since his WWF days. Luger now focusing on Simmons. Didn't think he was involved in title picture until middle 1992.
  12. Pretty good match before it gets cut short by the interference. Could have been a real good one in USWA-TX when the extended TV time shown. Jarrett channels some Lawler by decking Miss Texas for no good reason. She popped up pretty quick though.
  13. I about fell out of my seat when Lawler threw the fireball on Leatherface who caught on fire. Great finish. Lawler doing some BBQ in parking lot being interviewed by Dave Brown. I do like BBQ. Lawler putting his hair on the line. Everyone is USWA seems to be putting their hair up in matches.
  14. Marlin talks about wrestlers now being under open contracts and available to wrestle anyone. Big tag match set with loser getting their head shaved. Embry manages to cut a promo without pulling the straps down of his shirt. USWA back to being in the Mid South Coliseum. Where they belong. Ha, Leatherface using the chainsaw to the plaque would have been funny.
  15. Jake really starting to embrace his dark side. Him and Warrior are hanging out in a graveyard. Warrior is apparently digging his own grave. I was hoping for Jake to smash Warrior in the head with a shovel. Roberts buries Warrior in the grave other then his head which is still visible. This was pretty crazy.
  16. Sid is always there to put Okerlund in his place. I don't get Hogan's paranoid view of questioning how Sid will referee the match. He's been pretty clear about doing it right down the middle.
  17. This is unexpected as I just figured this whole tournament was done pro shot. Muto does his handspring eblow outside to Vader and I feel let down. Vader should have done his release German suplex on the floor. This turned into a really fantastic match. Vader and Vader that you expect. Muto survived the onslaught and gets the pinfall on a reversal. Just a well done match.
  18. I too am missing El Dando in this yearbook. Satanico too. The third fall is pretty good with all the close pinfall attempts. The action is excellent at this point. I just wasn't into the earlier stuff of the first two falls.
  19. Way too fast with the Road Warriors thrashing Tenryu and Hara. While Hogan/Tenryu versus Warriors was enjoyable this was just too one sided. Tenryu going down so easy was out of nowhere.
  20. I remember those AKI N64 games and being such a big fan of that leg sweep move. Not sure why nobody still uses that one anymore. But Hash is great at it. After the 10 minute mark this had the feeling they were going to a draw. It happens in these tournaments but they still managed to put together a very entertaining match the rest of the way.
  21. Very excitable female joining in on the announcing. Muto starts off good with a flurry of offense. Fujimani slows things down a bit and works the mat. I did like Muto being really aggressive with the multiple pin attempts that led to the finish. Didn’t feel too flukey to me.
  22. I was missing Hogana already while watching this. Good match but really felt they were just trying to establish the next challenger to Liger at this point. Just didn't feel strongly about Nogami winning match and title.
  23. Vader now wearing his more familiar mask. Don't think he should be bumping that big for a Fujinami clothesline. Vader clubs away at Fujinami's face and then puts him in a Dragon Sleeper. And a Scorpion Death lock attempt. Just rubbing it in now. Vader with the straps down. Couple clothesline attempts. Oh, bad idea as he ends up losing to a backslide. Totally cool with that finish with Fujinami having that move to counter Vader's aggressiveness.
  24. Just an average match. Choshu seemed off and with him dominating good portion of match it didn't help. Chono wins cleanly with the STF which is nice but wasn't enough to make this one stand out.
  25. Jake still a good guy and playing to fans. Earthquake ends up interfering and threatening another quake of a snake. Andre slowly makes his way to ring and Earthquake probably could have hit three Quake Splashes on the snake during the time. We get to see Lucifer. I guess this caps this feud.
