  1. The first two HIAC matches were so memorable. From here on it felt like the concept was cheapened. All the subsequent matches over the years kind of merge into one for me.
  2. The flashing seems to be catching on. Just hire a couple of girls from the local Strip Joint and the audience follow suit. Things are becoming sleazier by the month.
  3. The Nation get physical with Chyna, roughly holding her down like they would do with a man. She's no sweet, helpless female though as she looks like she wants to tear the Rock's head off. This was the starting point for the Sexual Chocolate character as well. HBK making the save was a big surprise. At the time I kept expecting him to announce a comeback.
  4. It was fun seeing a bully like Bradshaw get knocked on his ass and KO'd in the first minute. It didn't lead to stardom for Bart but he did get a good run in Japan off the back of this. As an aside this reminded me of one of the more bizarre topics I've seen posted on a wrestling forum. It was entitled something along the lines of 'Shoot Matches in Wrestling History'. The guy then listed 16 matches inside. #1 to #15 were the Brawl for All contests. #16 was Diva Dodgeball from Summerslam 2004.
  5. Forget about Tyson, The Fink does the worst crotch chops in history. At least he didn't have much hair to lose. Jarrett's gimmick is so outdated by this point and he needed an overhaul.
  6. 2 weeks ago on Nitro the Giant chokeslams Stevie Ray costing him the TV title. 1 week ago on Nitro the Giant chokeslams Stevie Ray potentially costing him the TV title. This week on Nitro Stevie Ray joins the Giant in the NWO with no ill feelings. Bret is really struggling to find the words that will make some kind of sense of this crap.
  7. The way WCW used to produce a washed out, recycled version of the wrestler's WWF theme always made them look second rate.
  8. This was fun to start as the Warrior makes his big return. Then he rambles on for an eternity about who knows what? I lost interest. At the end the smoke machine goes into overdrive and the dreaded trap door gets its first usage.
  9. Sad to see the reign of Stevie Ray end, but Jericho was even more entertaining than he was. Y2J doesn't even have to consult the rulebook to procure himself a title once more.
  10. Terrible final few minutes but at least it killed off the feud so everyone can move on. A classic example of wrestler losing a title to enable them to move up the card. I always thought Jericho was too large for the Cruiserweight division.
  11. I like how the Evangelists Against Television are advising viewers to watch another TV station instead. Mrs Yamaguchisan comes out to the ring with a beaming smile when they're trying to pretend that her bf has been castrated. Acting skillz. Surely I'm not the only person who has looked at the Big Valbowski's trunks and wondered if this was an in-joke?
  12. The Rodman & Malone stuff was bad enough, but at least they were pro athletes. Here we get a chat show host headlining a PPV. Leno looks ridiculous in the ring.
  13. Enduring image, isn't it?
  14. This is exactly the same angle as they ran with Randy and Liz. To be fair that was the best part of two years beforehand. It was better the first time as well. I do usually like bad acting (ty Kimberly), but there's so much of it on wrestling programs it loses some of its appeal.
  15. I wonder how many viewers switched channels during this? If you cut all the segments with Hogan talking I know I wouldn't complain.
  16. Val get's pw3nd by the Saved by the Bell legend. He wasn't the only character from the show to appear at a wrestling event. Usually it's heels that are embarrassed by guest celebs.
  17. Athletes in nearly every sport would hypothetically beat their counterparts from 30 years ago. With ease in many cases. They're stronger, quicker, have far superior resources and are much more professional. Pro Wrestling isn't a sport.
  18. Parv and JDW always disagreeing has just been shown to be a wrestling myth.
  19. JJ Dillon has turned into the weakest willed, most pathetic, compliant corporate buffoon imaginable. Rule book in hand, Jericho takes full advantage and tells the silly old fool how it's going to be.
  20. It very nearly went to the time limit before Bodacious Bart landed the knockout blow. JR would cry himself to sleep for the next week. The Brawl For All was an immediate disaster yet they saw this tournament through to the bitter end. This crowd should've tried sitting through some AJW shootboxing matches if they wanted something truly boring.
  21. I'd say plant, but I'm a cynic who always says that. Ever since I saw that Stunt Granny undercover video I've never looked at wrestling quite the same way again. Thankfully the old dear didn't flash the audience in that one. I mean it would be absolutely crazy to show a topless old lady on WWF TV, wouldn't it?
  22. In a few years time somebody should do a count of this. McMahon wants the Undertaker to be his corporate champion. Wait for it. The Dead Man is becoming more like Austin by the week as that's what the fans seemed to want. Vince is so easily the best heel around at this time.
  23. The whole reason Goldberg got over was that he kicked ass and took names whilst everyone else who was anybody was yapping on the mic. There was no reason to change that approach.
  24. I can see how this would have a lot of upside for the target demographic. Huge plastic titties defying the force of gravity. It's like they're made of stone. King has an indefatigable puppy love. Even ECW stopped short of this. It's incredible how much the WWF had changed in a short span of time.
