There's nothing wrong with a good wrestling urban myth. There certainly have been promotions who would be stupid enough not to check something like that.

This wasn't for any tag titles. They'd never let a career jobber like Izumida fight for the world tag straps.

Road Dogg as D-Lo is quite funny. The other three ranged from weak to somewhat offensive. Thankfully they had comedian Jason Sensation on hand, and he saved the segment with a hilarious Owen impersonation. That nose was a work of art.

Hey I liked a BattlARTS match! The BAT isn't a lost cause for me. Not that I'd call myself a fan yet, but it's a start. Having it in the hallowed grounds of Korakuen Hall was a big plus point as their crowds are often sparse and lifeless. Not so today, and the rivalry also engaged me. Junior shoot style I guess you could call it with some hard hits. At stages it drifted a little although there weren't any bad spells. Too many down counts. Overall it was good stuff and the finish was most satisfactory.

I don't understand the Federer-Nadal analogy at all. Not quite as annoying as February but this still looked sweet. For sure it would be making my MOTY list were it not for 9m being chopped out the middle. This is sadly the period between where they stopped the NJ Classics run and the start of the complete edition era. Some excellent body part selling from both men and drama down the stretch. Sigh.

A little longer than the first encounter and definitely better. It didn't get bogged down this time and there was some nice action. By no means essential but this was impressive for a TV bout.

The start of their playoff series. I'm glad this wasn't an annual tradition because it's overkill. None too thrilling early on as Benoit works a dull control segment. Did pick up quite a bit in the latter stages, and the Crippler get's the win thanks to inflicting more total damage.

I liked this enough to watch the whole thing. It's not like I'm tolerant of lengthy matches that aren't above average, so this had things going for it. The main issue was that it was too compartmentalised. Opening, leg work, arm work, big moves to finish. Like ticking a list. The segments being so disconnected took me out of it a little. All the trimmings later on and very 00's. It was so self consciously epic and trying to be a great match. It wasn't.

JoJo's only use is as a foil for Jericho's character. This was lots of fun once again as Y2J antagonises Dean with a series of insults. He holds out for a few lines, but the Iceman has snapped and has as much self control as Ken Shamrock these days. It was an amusing line as the Malenko brothers look just like each other.

Okay so this was playing off an advert at the time. I'd just watched it and had no clue WTF was going on here aside from the usual mild racism.

The wrestler having to ask someone what town they are in never gets old. Most of guys on the roster ranked midcard or above would've refused to do this as they didn't want to job to a midget.

Did Onita make any other ECW appearances, or is this just a weird one-off cameo that makes no sense at all?

This worked out as an effective way to split up a long Austin title reign. The KOTR result was a big shock and also during the rematch I felt sure there would be a run in. At this point the title had only changed hands once in the history of Raw. So it was a great moment for the fans as Stone Cold regains the gold.

Even by Mr. McMahon standards this is peak level assholedom. The only thing it lacked was Foley leaving the ring covered in phlegm.

It would've been better had Jericho located the original 1905 NWA Rulebook, but anytime before 1948 is good enough.

It was smart how Vince came out in the middle of the promo to insult the Taker. Without this then the fans may have thought the Dead Man was turning heel for a feud with Austin.

One of the aspects I like about the Austin character is how he isn't stupid like most babyfaces. Here he intimidates the stooges and perfectly manipulates Kane into granting him a rematch by challenging his manhood.

I remember at the time wondering how Kane was going to bleed when he had a mask covering his forehead? They figured out a way around that problem. With a little assistance Kane wins his first world title. After 12 more years of continuous service they rewarded him with a second reign.

They really needed to have a trophy to give to the winner right after the match.

His gimmick involved being a masochist. King of the Ring would be a very, very good night.

Just like the Bagwell injury this was an innocuous looking bump at first glance. Had this been a fake serious injury angle then there'd have been 20m of hushed tones and terrible acting with Estrada returning at the end of the show. As it was a real serious injury they swept it under the carpet and you never heard of him again. I'm sure the guy was released whilst he was laid out with a broken neck. Pieces of meat.
