These are all fair points. The best Janela I've seen (heard) was when he appeared on Austin's podcast. He's clearly a wrestling fan who eats, sleeps and breathes the business. I just don't like to see him actually wrestle.

Until last night the entire Lashley/Ruseve feud had been fast forward material. Then Lana came out in that dress. My god. Charlotte vs. Kabuki Warriors was shockingly pretty great. I had zero confidence in their ability to lay out an interesting handicap match. Not only did they do that, but they avoided any outside shenanigans and worked a clean finish to presumably build to a PPV match. Best TV match in some time.

I'm still waiting for Joey Janela to click. Right now he's one of the few acts in AEW that on a Wednesday night will immediately see me flip to NXT or a basketball game.

Perhaps this is among the key reasons the match didn't work for me, but Dominick was never established as any kind of threat or asset in the ring. His presence if anything seemed to make Rey more vulnerable as at that point he needed to protect his untrained kid from getting murdered again. Probably the worst match of Brock's run in my eyes, and that's including a triple threat with Kane & Braun at MSG.

A bit disappointed that there was essentially zero follow up to Lee's Survivor Series. Much too soon to dismiss it as already gone & forgotten, but would've liked to see more of a featured direction for him this week.

I'm in the minority on Brock as I almost always look forward to his matches and find most of them fun at worst, but this one didn't even connect with me.

Not only that, but Lee sold it and the ensuing cover so well that I thought he had it won. The kickout popped me off the couch. Lee should've won it but the way he lost really shouldn't hurt him at all. Hopefully more to come here.

Walter may have been eliminated too soon but they put him over pretty strongly while he was in there.

To their credit, barring a disastrous decision the show should clock out before 11.

On a more serious note, is there any evidence that the Wyatt/Fiend deal isn't completely flat and perhaps an audience killer? The entrance at Summerslam for his return was hot. Since then, what has he meant for ratings, attendance, merchandise or any metric that matters?

Are the announcers whispering so that they don't wake the crowd?

The more I think about it the more I'm frustrated by the end of the women's match. Shirai and Candice faked an injury because reasons? And they're all heels tonight?

That was legitimately awesome. More of that on TV!

I learned long ago not to hold my breath with this company, but Keith Lee being prominently featured on the go home NXT and Smackdowns is interesting.

This is wild. You need to go watch SNL Kevin Nealon. It'll make you appreciate him on Weeds even more. Then go rewatch WCW again for the rest of us.

We'll see if I call an audible at game time, but as of now leaning towards watching NXT live for the first week since Dynamite launched. TUE/Revival, Cole/DIjak and angles ahead of a two big shows this weekend likely means Fenix/Nick Jackson and the latest from AEW will have to settle for DVR viewing.
