The Hart Foundation's ice cream rapping and cat tossing promo was awesome and definitely a highlight of the show. I think it's safe to say the verdict is out on Salina De La Renta. She is absolutely horrible and is over-pushed. In listening to the crowd reactions to her it doesn't sound as though most of her heat comes from being a heel performer, but rather for being a bad performer. The main event was fun and is worth seeking out. Also, when did Simon Gotch become The British Bulldog? If MLW was regulated, Gotch would have got the whole damn show moved to California!

WWE TV 17/12 - 23/12 WWE stands for Women's Wrestling Entertainment

It was reported that Bryan had a lawyer for this round of contract negotiations. Everything he has done seems to have come from the Hogan Hulk like creative control he has. Since coming back Bryan has worked with his wife, been world champion, and essentially working matches and programs he wants and doing it the way he wants (Styles, Almas, Ali, etc.). Obviously money was a factor, but I think for Bryan it came down to not wanting to be another cog in the WWE machine and actually do something as a lot of WWE contracts aren't about keeping talent to better WWE, but rather preventing talent from going elsewhere and potentially bettering another company. Bryan vs. Mysterio in a hair vs. mask match at Mania would be awesome! Bald Danielson would be the ultimate dick we need in 2019! Now that I wrote that out, I don't want to see anything else. #BaldBryan -

This was unbelievable and yet complete expected. An out-of-touch meta narrative that admits to being out-of-touch, while completely denying it at the same time. This was Vince adding a new chandelier to the Titanic's dining hall. The new direction is MORE McMahons? On another note, I would love to see WWE send Rollins back to NXT as he will never have to be forced to sell his knee(s) again and finally be able to live his dream of becoming the Davey Richards no one got a chance to see! -

I don't want Dream anywhere near Raw. Smackdown and Dream seem like a good combo and natural fit, but Raw is where dreams go to die and people get less over. -

A million authority figures, lame babyfaces, and 50/50 booking has been WWE's undoing for years. I surprised the Houston attendance isn't the norm. -
The same complaint has been shared about anime. I'll share this from earlier this week, Akira is about mass popular resistance to the militarization of Japan by the JSDF and right-wing governments. Dragon Ball Z features real estate developers as the initial set of villains.Space Battleship Yamato is 5 tv series, 2 OVA series, 7 animated and one live-action movie of anti-nuclear war and environmental activism translated to children's TV.

Is TNA the worst wrestling promotion in history?
fakeplastictrees replied to Loss's topic in Megathread archive
I don't believe anyone at the time took a shit on the match. We all knew what it was going into it and everyone delivered what was expected. Hogan and Sting didn't go overboard in the match or try and make it a 40 minute epic. Both came into that match with a realistic mindset and I think that is why it ultimately worked. -

Cage, Rhino, Raven, Kevin Nash, and Team 3D (as they were stale as hell in WWE) all got a good second wind in TNA. I am sure I am missing someone obvious. -

Christian Cage really came into his own in TNA. His matches are worth checking out. IIRC, the Abyss/Cage Lockdown match was pretty good. In addition to Cage, I feel Raven and Rhino did their best post ECW work there. -
This is well done. Really good stuff. The WCW level gambles and overall fuckery is both astonishing and completely expected.

There are tons. I'll just give you just five that do not feature AJ Styles. To switch things up, the majority are gimmick matches. 1. Six Sides of Steel Match: XXX vs. AMW from Turning Point 2004 2. Samoa Joe vs. Scott Steiner from Slammiversary 2005 3. Monster's Ball Match: Jeff Hardy vs. Sabu vs. Rhyno vs. Abyss from Bound For Glory 2005 4. Monster's Ball Tag Team Match: from Bound for Glory 2008 5. Kurt Angle vs. Jeff Hardy from Victory Road 2012 -
MLW doesn't have any angles that pull me in or make me invested in any real outcome of any of their matches. I watch MLW mainly to see the weird matches that take place every week! Rich Swann, Willie Mack, Marko Stunt vs. The Hart Foundation PCO vs. LA Park The Parks vs. The Lucha Brothers Spin the Wheel: Sami Callahan vs. Jimmy Havock All of these matches are pretty random and makes MLW a fun Youtube watch. There is nothing major or interesting you are missing by not watching the shows in order, etc.

There was a good wrestling company living inside WCW that was just dying to get out. Booker T, Scott Steiner, 3 Count, Lance Storm and Team Canada, Mike Awesome, the luchadors, etc. All the elements of a watchable wrestling company were there, so of course the only logical conclusion is to bring back Bertha Faye, make Vince Russo champion, run endless hours of JJ talking about stroke and power, and ensure there are at least 1,000 WWF references per show. A WWE Highway to Hell thread is going to be interesting. If the company folds in the next five years, what would be considered WWE's moment of putting the keys into the ignition? I would have to say the Saudi deal would be a good start, but if I am being honest, I feel as though we would need to start with ADR's "Destiny" and go from there.

There is no way in hell 2000 WCW puts on this show and gets away with it. The Shane McMahon swerve, the Hulk Hogan appearance, the old man main event, the NO GIRLZ ALLOWED~! policy, two top stars backing out, Shane McMahon plugging his wife's movie, etc.

You can find similar articles online, but here's what to expect in terms of Rene's dress code (assuming she even appears on TV and WWE doesn't just have everyone calling it from the backstage area). FWIW, I would have preferred Beth Phoenix as she is much better at commentary than Renee. https://www.expatwoman.com/saudi-arabia/guide/faqs/saudi-arabia-dress-code-for-foreigners Saudi Arabia's dress code for women If you are out in public, you are required to wear at least an abaya over your normal clothes (which too must be modest). An abaya, if you haven’t heard about it by now, is a long, usually black, cloak worn by women to cover their normal clothes and conceal their body shape. A headscarf, also known as a hijab, is optional – depending who you talk to. Michelle Obama managed to raise quite a number of eyebrows back in 2014 when she visited Riyadh. Even though she was dressed modestly in bright, loose-fitting clothes, she wasn’t wearing a headscarf and locals quickly took to Twitter to voice their disapproval. She did make it back home safely without any issues, but then again, back then she was the first lady of the United States of America. We recommend you rather not try it out for yourself in Riyadh. Then the question remains: to wear or not to wear a headscarf? The safest option, always when out in public, is make sure to wear a headscarf. Especially if you’re going to Riyadh. There are places where it isn’t required for foreign women to wear a headscarf but we recommend first scoping out the city before becoming too daring and leaving it off. It is, however, good to carry one with you just in case you do run into trouble with someone. What about shoes? You can wear whatever shoes you like! Women in Saudi often wear open shoes while others are more comfortable in a set of trainers. There are no restrictions on what shoes you are or aren’t allowed to wear in the Kingdom. Just keep in mind that you will be required to take them off when visiting a mosque.

WWE TV 10/29 - 11/4 warning: actual political rant inside
fakeplastictrees replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
What's happening in Brasil is sad, but not shocking. Unfortunately misinformation, fear, and extremism is the law of the land and people find it sexy for some reason. Lashley! Lashley! Lashley! Lio Rush chanting Lashley's name, while the crowd remains absolute stone faced, is the best. More of that please. Lashley has all the tools, but the booking has been shit since day one. The man served in the U.S. Army, has a legit 15-2 MMA record, and has an amazing physique. So of course they give him "comedy" and obstacle courses. I am not sure how hard it is to book Lashley as a full time Lesnar while Lesnar is booked like a part time Lesnar. If Lesnar decided to get rid of the "Suplex City" nonsense for just one night, the Mania showdown between Lesnar and Lashley would be amazing. A bald Shawn Michaels wearing a DX shirt and superkicking people just doesn't look or feel right. -

My issue with Morgan was him not really finding a good balance in his ring style. Less is more. Carbon Footprint, chokeslam, Sid style powerbomb. TNA needed a big man working a big man style. Joe was flying around and Abyss had the hardcore stuff locked down. I think if Morgan patterned himself after the best in-ring aspects of Kevin Nash and Sid Justice, he would have been more than okay. The booking sure didn't help him at all, but I believe a less is more approach in the ring and detail to his presentation would have put him over the moon. Matt Morgan walking down to the ring wearing a suit and shades as always bad ass, but you just knew an ass kicking wasn't coming at all. -
Did Cena really say "no", or is this the PR kayfabe reason WWE is delivering in lieu of the real reason? The real reason of course being Cena's movie commitments in China. Perhaps Cena was never going to be there and this is all a red herring to ensure WWE keeps its top star protected as much as possible from all the non-sense. Everyone else can pretty much take the hit, but not Make-A-Wish John Cena.

The experiment was retired some months ago by Charles. It had a nice run. I wonder how much of my timeline is going to be filled with #CrownJewel chatter during the event? Is this the event people will watch with their blinds closed? I'm curious to see if the positive trending is impacted by the negative press, boycotts, etc.

Imagine the promos and video packages when Roman returns. Roman vs. Ambrose one-on-one will be a huge match and much bigger than anything The Shield has done against each other since their 1st breakup.

WWE TV 10/15/18 - 10/21/18: Fear, Loathing, and PRACTICE!!

Perhaps two months is too long. But it would be a much needed break from the norm. Outside of Ronda and the few usual suspects, Tamina has managed to keep people believing that she is one of the toughest women in WWE despite having an amazing losing record, no titles to speak off, and being sidelined with injuries more-often-than-not. -
-Crown Jewel will stream live on the WWE Network from an undisclosed location that may or may not be located between The Red Sea and Persian Gulf. - Ronda turned a shaky promo into money. - Lio Rush dressing like Bobby Brown while doing an Abraham Washington lite gimmick at ringside just will not work. - The best part about Nikki's promo is that most everything she said, she believes it to be a shoot. Its hilarious, sad, and enlightening to see what happens to a person's psyche when living in the wrestling bubble for too long. - Apollo receiving golf claps and finger snaps for his feat of strength really highlights everything wrong with the handling of 90% of the roster. - Mickie and Alexa do The IIconics better than The IIconics. Granted its a low bar, but still. - The fans really want to see Nia vs. Tamina. This is the second time they have done the stare down spot and it gets great heat each time. Despite never really being over or a super worker-- Tamina has managed to keep her mystique for a decade through bad booking, injuries, and all. I'd be down for her to get a 2 month reign as champion.
