  1. BJ Payne is an awful name to have. The matches were solid, but the continual interference becomes tiring.
  2. This starts with an interesting promo as Gibson appears to be the heel until Rogers tells the crowd to shut up. Solid match that ends with the referee getting involved by kicking Gibson's hands off the ropes leading to pulled tights and a fast count. I hope we get a longer match down the line.
  3. The tape skipping obscured parts of the match, but this looked fun from what we could see. King seems to have potential.
  4. This was worth watching for Bailey's opening promo. It wasn't a great battle royal, but they did have a fun roster of giant fat guys. That Rivera guy was huge and he jumped off the apron to the floor.
  5. Good back and forth match. Even though he is overweight and doesn't move as well, Hansen still possesses the spirit necessary to make his exchanges interesting. Smith plays his role competently. He is overmatched by his competition, but he can hold his own enough to get a powerslam or some other move to keep the fight going.
  6. This one seemed like more of the same instead of moving forward. They repeated the same spots from previous matches, and there was less variation in pace. Average match.
  7. This felt like more of an exhibition than a competitive match, but it was fun. Violencia getting the crowd to cheer for him was humorous. Mil and Dos both looked good for their age, and Dantes did a good job of selling by grunting in his exchanges with Mascaras.
  8. Black Warrior's running speed on his dive was super fast. I wonder if he was a local track star before he became a wrestler. I was confused by Felino toward the end as to what his motivation was for sitting on the turnbuckle. Average match.
  9. This was a great angle. Even if Villano just went to the back to swing momentum like a tennis bathroom break, it would be heelish, but it does look like he went further and pulled the switcheroo with the fresh brother. The justifiably angry Atlantis is ready to put the masks on the line in a final battle against Villano III.
  10. The rudos dominated the match. Satanico was a master of hair pulling in this one, as Tarzan Boy was his victim again. This seemed a step down from the other CMLL matches so far.
  11. Liger destroys Kanemoto and Otani, but Kashin attacking him was totally confusing. Liger didn't seem to react to Kashin after the match was over, so maybe he didn't care. Good match.
  12. This one needed more selling and more places to breathe. None of these guys really imparted any sense of character, so this one ended up being on the boring side.
  13. Bloodthirsty Blue Panther strikes again. In no time, he's got Olimpico's mask ripped open and has drawn blood. It's so disgusting when he licks his paws. Olimpico gives him a taste of his own medicine by grabbing the ropes to win the match. This had a lot of clipping, but what we saw was really good.
  14. Ricky Marvin's high flying was impressive, but the match didn't click for me. I wasn't sure what Fugaz was doing. Was he playing to the crowd or was he heeling? I thought at first he was trying to get cheers, but then he shouted "I am your father" at them. The finishing stretch felt a bit clunky. Average match.
  15. Terrible match. Steele didn't look like he was trying half of the time. Cobarde is the type of wrestler that causes people to give up on lucha. He's old and moves in slow motion. He's got a giant as his opponent, but he's not doing any bumping. Steele went down for the back body drop, but Cobarde took forever to do anything with it and made Steele look stupid. The referee hijinks made this one even worse.
  16. Good match. I liked all of CIMA's heel tactics. He used the referee as distraction, sat on Sumo's back to give him leverage, and antagonized the other team by putting Chocoball almost in reach for the tag and then pulling him away.
  17. This was so convoluted with the multiple referees, interference, and then Rico getting the pinfall over Flash. The individual wrestlers all look to have potential, but Cornette's booking is holding them back instead of helping.
  18. Watch for the spot where one wrestler rams another wrestler's head into the turnbuckle repeatedly. The guy stops and lets go, but the other continues to knock his own head into the turnbuckle.
  19. Couldn't they have found Randy Hales some tights? The match came across as terribly awkward as Cornette isn't convincing giving a beating and Hales is completely out of his element. There wasn't much use of the straps for something billed as a lumberjack strap match.
  20. This was a failure of a match. Sabre badly messes up jumping over the rope and struggles in the hook the arms of the posing wrestler spot. The overrated Smothers repeats the spot instead of moving on. Who knows why there needed to be a run-in to help beat an opponent as weak looking as Sabre. Nobody came out of this looking good.
  21. I really liked this one, as the matwork had lots of struggle. Sasaki sold well and had another top notch performance. I was never very impressed with his 90's matches, but he seems to be hitting his stride here. Very good match.
  22. I'm not loving this Tenryu/Koshinaka team. Tenryu is just so much better than Koshinaka that the team feels totally unbalanced. Koshinaka gives the match a comedy feel even when the match is supposed to be serious. The match was solid, but it just didn't seem to build enough.
  23. I thought Hashimoto knocking AKIRA around outside the ring was the best part of this one. Average match.
  24. Fun match. Tenryu's chops beat the stuffing out of Suzuki. Sasaki really brought a lot of energy when he tagged in, and it was the best section of this match.
