The Faces of Fear had spent the entire match working over the Unsinkables' two injuries; Hansen's eye and Taue's leg. Both men fought valiantly but were clearly disorganized compared to the Polynesian blood brothers. Giant Baba appeared at the end of the match and personally asked both Hansen & Taue if they were willing to compete further in the tournament; through the pain, both said yes. (22:45)
  6. I don't. I think that IF YOU CAN, trying to merge them would be best, and then you can run USWA as an imprint like I am with WAR in AJPW. You won't have to be as familiar and you can try extra ideas.
  7. It's just a phrase that sounds cool and is easy to market. "King's Road"? Difficult to market.

With roughly forty seconds left in the match, as Akiyama attempted to set up Ishikawa for a Death Valley Bomb but staggered and fell to one knee, so Misawa tagged himself in and attempted to lift Ishikawa for an Emerald Flowsion to be met by The Great Kabuki who had launched into the ring after Misawa's tag and sprayed mist in his face before delivering a DDT. Ishikawa attempted to pin Misawa, who kicked out at 2 as time expired. (30:00) - 7) Stan Hansen & Akira Taue vs. Toshiaki Kawada & Kenta Kobashi ends in a time-limit draw. The entire match was a brawl, with very few exchanges in the middle of the ring, with extended segments of both Kawada and Taue in peril in the opposite corner. With only two minutes left, Hansen finally had his chance after Taue tagged him in, but Kobashi & Kawada swarmed him, the former hitting a chop block as Kawada kicked Hansen straight in the face, seeming to blind the already poor-sighted Hansen, who thrashed and tossed both Kawada & Kobashi to the ground recklessly without a plan, unable to perform a true move after the damage to his eye as the time limit ran out. (30:00)
  20. Enos-Jericho hasn't been, though.
  21. Yeah, that's wild.
  22. The Skull-Crushing Finale went through a stretch where Miz was incapable of putting anyone down with it. So it's just a case of the body of the match and how it builds to the finish. Just add slightly more creativity. I'd love to see Cena go for consecutive AAs without a pin attempt in-between. It's not original for wrestling, but it's original for him. More combination finishers, too. Ziggler hits a Zig Zag, immediately locks the sleeper for a tapout, not TKO. People like seeing adrenaline bursts where someone seems superhuman. Shorter but higher impact comebacks. But, overall: yes. Styles make fights, right? But if everyone does the same thing, or you have too great of a contrast between workers where matches seem incompatible next to each other, then things can't work. Everything needs a root of commonality where individualism can then bloom.
  23. Anyway, SUPER J-CUP, 24 ENTRANTS, ALL PROMOTIONS WELCOME, 12/4, 12/9, 12/13. (12/9 has been added to minimize congestion. Afternoon show before AJPW's year-ender as part of RESUFEST '95.
  24. Yeah, just go simple, let the results come to you, there's no need to be flowery or whatever. Tell the story first, then add as you want. That sounds hypercondescending but I don't mean for it to.
  25. 11/22/95 AJPW Real World Tag League, Day Four Korakuen Hall Tokyo 1) Masanobu Fuchi defeats Yuji Yasuraoka via pinfall after an arm-wringer snap DDT. (8:51) - 2) Takao Omori defeats Akitoshi Saito via pinfall after an Axe Bomber. (13:25) - 3) Masashi Aoyagi, Takashi Iizuka, & Akira Nogami defeat Takashi Ishikawa, Genichiro Tenryu, & Yoshinari Ogawa via referee stoppage after a leaping Yakuza Kick by Aoyagi to Ogawa.
