  1. His voice is annoying. Maybe he can remain in the background and look pretty while Penelope is pushed as the star she is
  2. Christian is one of my favourite wrestlers but I absolutely do not need to see him featured prominently on my TV in 2021. Better than Edge, but still. I get to see Sting leech off Darby's spotlight every week as it is, I don't need to see more old guys running around
  3. I think he tried to threaten Sapp (something like meet me face to face and say this shit) and Sean completely no-sold him. Dunno what led to the actual suspension though
  4. He has meant absolutely nothing for the ratings so far. Not even a slight bump. Matt Cardona might have evoked more intrigue when he debuted
  5. They will obviously make huge money offers to MJF and Hangman Page at least. I also feel that MJF will do really well i their carefully scripted culture
  6. The rollercoaster ride of AEW's inconsistent booking continues. This week we have Christian's first match, and I, much like everyone else, expect it to die in the ratings
  7. I do like the theory that they were forced to unify the belts cuz Ibushi is an alien on Earth who might be one of the greatest athletes of all time in wrestling history, but doesn't understand how to carry two pieces of tin on his shoulders to the ring
  8. It looks like the universal title and the divas title had a really ugly baby
  9. Can we really excuse stuff like not selling the all-important TV main event while owned by a TV media company cuz he didn't want to hurt the houses which were already in the toilet, as retraining the audience? I think that's very much an example of someone losing touch
  10. The new belt is shit
  11. Did this really happen
  12. I definitely think Darby is cool. His lifestyle is clearly very different from mine, but his charisma shines through imo. It helps that he is a fantastic wrestler
  13. More than the tightest of storytelling, you really need charismatic characters the fans connect to and invest in.
  14. Since GWE season is starting and we are beginning to think about the beginning, how comfortable would you be with the idea of Bryan as the GOAT? I really feel he is a contender for number one for me
  15. Her initial face run didn't work, she has just improved in the ring and her in-ring style is very heelish, and I think they feel she has more mileage as a heel before she turns face. Plus, their current champ Shida is a face and I think they feel a future heel champ would therefore have more fresh faces as challengers.
  16. Another theory for losing female viewers put forward by Joe Lanza on his show review for Voices of Wrestling, based on ratings and quarters data, is that Kenny Omega might be an anti-draw with young women. Like, he might actively drive away that demographic
  17. She needed to be interviewed and allowed to gloat because otherwise the fans would have turned her face and they don't want that. Interviewing the loser to allow them to get their heat back is standard wrestling procedure, isn't it?
  18. I don't watch the TV, so are all three in this main event program heels?
  19. I don't think juice is the problem, because AEW has always had juice. But overusing it and overusing the violent hardcore spots, often for no reason but for gratuitous violence and shock value, will drive away women viewers at a bigger rate than it gains older men. I think the big secret to regaining the women viewers is to simply push the young good-looking talented wrestlers that they have. The newest WON showed that Darby is an undeniable draw and Darby-Silver was a massive success. Simply having hot storylines and matches involving young exciting talent beats gimmick matches for the heck of it and all the weapons and hardcore stuff.
  20. Who is putting words in the mouth now
  21. 20 years ago on this day, WCW died Final image ever of WCW would appear shortly
  22. Also, I really wanted to share this earlier lol
  23. You don't really have any locus standi to accuse others of being rude when most of your posts about this have been calling most people who post here (and on Reddit) toxic, essentially stupid. Using rasslin' as a pejorative was perhaps droll and on-point 35 years ago, but now it's just tired and cliché
  24. I imagine Kingston will in the future make for a very good transitional babyface champ between two heels
