You would hope so but they booked their first ever TELEVISED WEDDING so who knows
-
Yeah Aubrey immediately wanted to stop it. Khan really dropped the ball there. Hopefully its the first and last time. They were REALLY lucky Matt did not slip while climbing that stupid structure. They should have made it a no-contest. I cannot possibly imagine fans getting mad about it.
-
The match was excellent and Dustin cut an early 90s reminiscent promo. After the Hardy shitshow, this show has been excellent. Hopefully I don't jinx it
-
J.R talking about Anna Jay's wardrobe malfunction in the middle of an excellent tag match. Just fucking retire
-
Shida-Rosa legit saved the show imo. That Matt Hardy thing had taken me completely out of it. Sabian is a complete dork but hahahahaha at that Twitch dig
-
This was clearly Matt insisting he go on and Tony Khan making a mistake by listening to him. This match will get overshadowed cuz of what happened in the previous match, but Shida and Rosa are putting on a fucking show
-
They should have called an audible and have Sammy win. I get that Matt's career was on the line, but the last 5 minutes of the match absolutely did not need to happen
-
Agreed but I am consoling myself thinking Archer will be a one and done deal for TV like Hager while Eddie will be pushed a lot more than that eventually. Matt is dead wtf is going on
-
Man I would have marked so hard for Eddie winning. But fair enough on pushing Archer and Eddie deserves more than a one-time push where he loses to Mox in a Dynamite main event. As far as Casino royales go, that was pretty good.
-
Yeah I like him too but sorry there is no coming back from this lol
-
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA Sydal with a Shockmaster-level debut
-
I am not a fan of Casino Battle Royales usually but this has been a really good one so far
-
I will say this. Reggie Miller talking about AEW and Jurassic Express enhusiastically during the playoffs was a nice change of pace because every time mainstream broadcasters are contractually mandated to plug pro wrestling, they make sure that everyone listening knows that they think wrestling is stupid and they are being forced to talk about it. This was a good match but still felt throwaway.
-
This was less a cinematic match and more of a reallw slow and boring brawl tbh. Wrong person won wtf. Britt was robbed. I missed the preshow. How were the matches?
-
I had disagreed with you when you first voiced your opinion on MJF but now I think you are right. I don't want to say this feud exposed him, but I think it showed me he is not ready for a main event run yet. It was when he went one on one with Mox on the mic during the contract signing when Mox looked comfortably a level above him that I was first 100% certain they should not be switching the title. I really think he has all the talent in the world, especially on the mic. He can also be nasty in the ring when he is not playing up the shtick. It would be best if he goes to the midcard and really finds his character.
-
MJF when he is being serious and selling a program is great. The Dictator Jon stuff was really goofy though and him wearing a neckbrace and crying about the paradigm shift made him feel midcard-ish. The lawyer thing was bad and I hope they learned a lesson from it.
-
I don't think they pull the trigger on MJF yet. Omega has to turn heel on Page. Hopefully the Baker-Swole cinematic match is good, because if they have a bad one after fan complaints about them being on pre-show, there will be an inevitable, unwarranted backlash against them.
-
Duncan consistently stepped up in the big moments though This Bayley-Banks culmination is the best thing they have done all year. Really hoping the feud is as good
-
The Bucks are choking so hard. Giannis going to get turned on by fans worse than Roman ever experienced
-
Vince would 1000% lose a case over preventing someone from using their real legal name. There is legal precedent for this, with Ultimate Warrior. Vince will just count on the fact that litigation is shit-expensive and he has the money.
-
Baron Corbin is getting another match with Reigns isn't he
-
You are assuming everyone who started cheering for Page watched BTE on a regular basis. His initial reason for branching off from the Elite was absolutely the reason you laid out, and your description of his dynamic with Omega is correct and is a goldmine, but he did not initially get over cuz he was insecure about his place in Elite, although that was the story initially. He started getting over as a face when he started just killing people and drinking beet afterwards, and sometimes before killing them. Let's not forget that he was supposed to turn heel basically because of his insecurities and the initial booking of his character. But the fans chose him as their guy and he got over as a badass face. After that, there was no way they could turn him heel. For them to go back to his initial insecurity with the Bucks is contrived and convoluted, and is counter-productive to how Page has got over so far. His dynamic with Omega on the other hand has been consistently explored on Dynamite and Omega turning heel on Page after losing the tag titles really is the perfect way to close out the angle. This costing Bucks the tag title shot cuz FTR got in his head but not really cuz they never said anything to him is just making look highly gullible, and that's never a good face trait.
-
It helps put over FTR. I don't think it helps put over Page. He got over as a badass dude who drank beer and didn't give a fuck. It was really the perfect face character and him going down the route of doubting himself and being tricked and deceived is the kind of babyface booking I think has crippled so many faces the last two decades
-
Okay but what does that accomplish? How does it help the story or any of the wrestlers? Hangman looks stupid and gullible, something which wrestling faces should never look, the Bucks look like jerks who are terrible friends, and Omega, I don't even know, he looks like a douche who is high and doesn't understand or care what's happening
