  1. Urgh fuck Jeff Jarrett
  2. I know Meltz went full Doomer on CM Punk's return, but if his return allows people like Ricky Starks to cut great promos and show how charismatic they are, then yeah, he should be welcomed back with open arms. Best thing is he let FTR and Starks have their moment, just made an intro to set the stage for them. I
  3. Really looking forward to the JYD episode. A first-ballot hall of famer, in my opinion, both for drawing and for historical influence. Who dat think they gonna beat that Dog?
  4. I get what you are saying, but can we argue that Fenix and Pent got over in the first place due to the crazy match they had with the Bucks on AEW's first PPV? (it feels weird and dirty to be the Bucks defender in an argument lol)
  5. Understood, thanks for the explanation!
  6. Not intending to call you out or put you on the spot at all, and I don't like the Bucks much either (I like Nick, Matt I actively dislike, so they sort of cancel each other out), but it would be great if you could expound on "had to do more than put themselves over". At least on paper, they have put over many, many, many wrestlers in matches since AEW began. I don't mean put over in a Hulk Hogan/Scott Hall slip-on-a-banana-peel-style putting over, where the focus remains entirely on the loser and the winner actually gets nothing out of it. Like, their loss to the House of Black is the most badass the HoB have ever looked and felt, and made Brody King look like a, well, King. The Lucha Bros have never been as over as when they were beating the Bucks in matches. Even Private Party, for example, in the early days of AEW. Even when they win, they highlight the losing wrestlers, like Top Flight? Or do you mean it in a more metaphorical, general sense? I am just genuinely interested in what you mean.
  7. From the ESPN Article: "Punk said he has not had any conversations with Omega or the Jacksons since the incident, although he has tried. He said when he has reached out, he has gotten "messages from lawyers saying, 'Do not contact this person.'" Punk said he is unclear whether those responses came at the request of legal representatives of Omega and the Jacksons or a third party." Seems like he is saying that he did try to talk to them directly, although the para is a bit confusing.
  8. No offence, i love your posts, but I hope both your team and the England team lose the Ashes simultaneously just by everyone tripping over a ball while coming onto the field, Glenn McGrath in 2005-style. But with Cummins getting a lot of wickets cuz I really like him. Marnus is really due for some humbling though, and I am glad he is getting it. Long overdue
  9. Shawn didn't do parity headlock takedown sequences with tons of reversals like they're of the same size and strength, and evenly worked brawling exchanges like their punches have the same effect, when he worked Vader or Sid or Taker.
  10. The slower pace meant that things were given more time to be taken in and digested, which made it feel different from Dynamite, which goes at breakneck speed. Also, not nearly as many interferences - both in matches and promos - as a typical Dynamite episode. I marked out so hard when Punk caught Joe in that headlock. Like my childhood coming back to me.
  11. My favourite line in the Punk promo was how he is the uncrowned champ "not because I had the greatest dog collar match in history, it's because I won that dog collar match!"
  12. The bits I have seen of the game look great tbh imo. Real, proper No Mercy vibes
  13. Ah, my bad, apologies. Chris Hero rocks \m/
  14. He was definitely not used fine when he was doing headlock takeovers and Irish whips with Keith Lee, a guy 5 times his size and about 50 times his strength. Shit was disgusting. I have no idea what Shawn saw in him.

I've loved Joe since I found his match with Low-Ki on YouTube way back in 2004 (those used to the the wild days, entire events would be uploaded on YouTube) and this makes me like him more. I am so happy he gets a chance to wrestle for a major international promotion on national TV, and AEW and TK are very lucky to have him

That seems like a...very tame interview? No idea why Keller was acting like it's some horrible shit that'd make things difficult for Punk when he makes his return. Punk didn't even say anything bad about Hangman - just that the lack of trust made the entire dynamic of the match very insecure, which led to, in his opinion, a bad match cuz they didn't trust each other and were not focusing on the right things (I actually thought it was a pretty good match, tbh). Also funny to see Punk claiming he tried to reach out to the Elite, only to get lawyered and told to back off, because a few weeks ago, Meltz and Chico were complaining about how Punk has not reached out to anyone in the Elite despite the fact that it is so easy to turn up backstage and talk to the Elite lads. Punk contradicts him directly there. I like Dave a lot, but this Elite-Punk saga seems to have really broken his brain, especially Punk's actions and the repercussions therefrom, or the perceived lack of it. Dunno if he ever will be able to report objectively about Punk anymore.
  17. Incredible how Eddie Kingston lights up the scene every time he appears. He truly *believes* in everything he stands for, is saying and doing, a rarity in modern wrestling

Talent can't do media interviews without office permission; this has been a rule way back since MJF did one. If Wade Keller and Chico genuinely think this might jeopardize Punk's comeback, then they are even bigger morons than I thought they were
  19. I love Becky so much
  20. That one-minute Punk vignette made me more excited for Collision than anything in the last month
  21. Those Sergeant Slaughter bootcamp matches were tremendous. RIP.
  22. Meltz and Chico shitting on Bandido for his tribute gear cuz he "didn't look like a star" is peak boomer stuff lol
  23. I don't even like Don Callis but the heat he got was ridiculous. Now I want him to recruit Punk and let both of them go hunt the Elite together to nuclear levels of heat
  24. Nice to see my "Hangman's world title run >> MJF's world title run" claim gets increasingly validated with each passing day
