  1. Very disappointed that both Mark Briscoe and Eddie Kingston lost on the ROH supercard. TK does not seem to realise that ultimately, fans want their faves to win, else ultimately they stop rooting for them. He books heels to win way too often. It's a problem that modern WWE has had as well since the start of this century - way too many long heel title runs. I do not believe in the bullshit about the money being in the chase; that's just an excuse for bookers tnot book faces and their championship runs in a compelling manner. It's bookers being lazy and not doing their jobs. Somewhere in the archives of this board, there is a post by S.L.L about how the adage of the money being in the chase is misplaced and ultimately a myth, but all you need to do is look at the 80s and see who won the wrestling war, and how the winning promotion's world champion was booked.
  2. I love how he skips over his own role in the shitshow. And now he casually mentions that all sides had in principle agreed to Punk coming back, something he had never reported before. I love Dave more than a lot of people here but he has fucked up bad in this entire incident.
  3. Not sure if this is real or fake, but lol
  4. A brief but hilarious bit this episode was Claudio putting on Don Callis's sunglasses after beating the fuck out of him
  5. I've always thought of it this way: if I knew CM Punk personally, I would definitely not want to be friends with him. I wouldn't want to hang out with him. But he is not my friend, and as long as he doesn't hurt anyone, I don't care how he is in his personal life. What I do care about is his wrestling ability, and in my mind, it is undeniable that he is an incredible pro wrestler. Like, he gets it. His one-year AEW run was full of all-time great moments. His "Maxwell Jacob Friedman, will you be my valentine" dog collar promo still gives me goosebumps. I definitely want him on my wrestling TV. That said, the cheap shot he took at Hangman was beyond unprofessional and over the line. He knew Hangman couldn't respond. To quote his own self, it was coward shit.
  6. Mox sort of continued the angle in kayfabe on Renee's podcast, where while he did not admit they did it, he didn't deny it either. Danielson v. Omega 2 should be an absolute blast.
  7. Heel Danielson is the best. I hope he kicks every Elite member's fucking head in. I liked the Perry-MJF exchange. I think Perry has improved a hundredfold on the mic. Working with Christian has definitely helped him improve as a wrestler, even if Christian was out for several months. Take notes, Chris Jericho!
  8. I said this in the Meltzer thread, but Dave made a massive massive mistake by leaving out the crucial part of the story where Punk was injured at that time and not cleared to wrestle and was asked to wrestle anyway. That makes TK look really bad and Meltzer absolutely fucked up by not reporting that part of the story. Punk is a grouchy asshole who keeps grudges and does not forgive anyone for any perceived slight, whether justified or not, but he was absolutely right to get mad at Dave here. Especially given the context of why he left WWE in 2014 in the first place.

  10. Wonder how Danielson feels about Punk and about all of this.
  11. He wasn't, at least not initially. He was out with a concussion when the interim championship was decided. TK could have chosen to run with Mox v. Danielson for All Out, but he had him jobbing to Jericho instead.
  12. Vikingo for world champ
  13. I thought the angle was fine tbh. I certainly understand its criticisms, but let's be honest, even if they had faced each other for the first time at the PPV instead of on TV, the result was never going to be in doubt.
  14. Mox refused to lose to him, and then proceeded to lose to him clean in the 2nd match in a PPV main event? What?
  15. 133k buys (and potentially a bit higher, going by Meltz's analysis in the latest WON) is certainly a good number. Kudos to MJF, despite my reservations/issues with him. Shows that despite all the criticisms we all make of his work, he is still doing a good job as champ. His potential is so so so high; he is still so young. Hope he manages to fulfil it.
  16. It's why Dragon beating him was the perfect outcome imo
  17. No one puts it as well as Loss does:
  18. Can TK please stop booking world title angles centred around "MJF sucks at wrestling and isn't a worthy champion"? Like this is not 1988 anymore. MJF went 65 minutes with the Greatest of all Time and outlasted him and won. He doesn't suck at wrestling and he is a worthy champion, at least in kayfabe. What's the point of treating your own legacy like it doesn't mean shit.
  19. Thank God the king of mid Jeff Jarrett did not win the International title. OC has quietly had an excellent title reign.
  20. They are using the feud to transition to Hangman's reconciliation with the Elite. I think Hangman will focus more on Claudio now, (for the ROH title maybe) while other Elite members like Omega conclude their unfinished business with the BCC.
  21. Thank you so much to you and to the entire New Zealand test cricket team for holding up their end of the bargain and beating up Sri Lanka. In the World Test Cricket Championship final, will keep your words in mind. Make the Aussies weep. Hope they suffer brutally. Nightmares for decades after the cricket match, like what happened to 10-year me after the 2003 ODI cricket world cup final.
  22. Yes, it was Holi weekend, sue me. BTW, a belated happy holi to all of you good brothers (and sisters) at PWO! May the festival of colours bring you more spark, joy, and satisfaction!!
  23. Rey Mysterio is the greatest active wrestler of all time, which is why he is such at pace with spinning shit happening again and again. Let this be. Let us be in charge now. Is there something we are missing, please let us know?!?!!?!
  24. Per Meltz in the latest WON Newsletter, some of the longest matches for the world title in history: Some random names in there. Who is Mike George and why is he getting 85 mins with the world champ in 1982?
