Kinda loving how they've changed up the Chamber itself - really feels like they've opened up a lot of possibilities.
-
From the look & sound of it they're now using some kind of cushioning/mat that's presumably a lot safer. It does sound like mat. Even if it's just flat board, it looks way safer to bump on. The stuff on the grate before did not seem like it had a good pain:impressiveness ratio.

Nikki really needs to work on the facelock part of the STF... looked like she was legit choking Nattie. Not sure what the point of that finish was if they're not doing a rematch at Wrestlemania, unless the idea is to build up stuff as TV main events to bridge the long gap to Wrestlemania.
-
I think it makes sense for the context of the feud - Nikki trying to prove she can wrestle, Natalya insisting she can dominate her. Not saying it's been super exciting, but I buy it.

Ummmmmm American Alpha won via rollup on USOS and then USOS beat the shit out of them. Hardly running through the USOS. There is definitely lots of heat in American Alpha vs USOS!!! Excited for the one on one feud! The Usos have lost a lot on PPV since the brand split. They could maybe get a Wrestlemania pre-show match out of them, but I don't think the ending would be in doubt. Seems they could blow this off on TV instead and bring up the Revival for a Wrestlemania match.

So I guess they're bringing up a new team to challenge AA? They've literally run through the entire roster.

Breezango is getting very enjoyably dumb.

Was the crowd chanting "Thank you Ziggler!" after the attack on Crews?
-
They really should have set the cameras up in Atlanta so you could appreciate Center Stage better and see the crowd. Watching this week's TV show right now and very much enjoying Colt Cabana on color. Big improvement over Corino and Nigel (moreso over Corino, who cuts a great promo but was really bad as announcer).
-
Given the limited future the 205 Live guys probably have, I'd think Dean's career worked out pretty well. Arguably, he was helped by having guys like Rey and Eddy as opponents.
-
Enjoyed Corino dropping AWA references into his promo. "Verne Gagne wasn't hardcore!" Indeed. Dreamer and Corino had some fun spots (which makes sense since they'd worked together a million times), but then this goes nowhere particularly interesting. No idea why Fonzie is with Dreamer, and I don't think that ever happened on TV. Fun but generic. The length of this whole thing does explain why the workrate guys were getting 8 minutes with entrances on the undercard, though.

[2000-02-12-ECW--Norfolk, VA] Kid Kash vs Little Guido
Migs replied to soup23's topic in February 2000
Kash has the Kid Rock outfit, but no Bawitdaba yet. Feels wrong without it. Match felt like it played more to Guido's strengths (specifically mat wrestling) than Kash's, although Kash got a couple of spots in. I like Guido teasing the chops and then going with kicks to the gut. Solid match. Nice to see Guido get a showcase. -
Oh most definitely. Is there any good Harris Boys match out there? They probably top out with some of the ECW brawls. Your mileage may vary on those, but some might label those good.

[2000-02-11-ECW-Washington, DC] Super Crazy vs Little Guido
Migs replied to soup23's topic in February 2000
Not feeling Crazy's haircut. Liked Guido reversing out of the second run of 10 punches. Otherwise, this is pretty standard stuff for these guys. Looking at the full card for this show - I was completely unaware that Pitbull 1 came back to ECW for a bit in 2000. Pretty sure he didn't make TV. -
[2000-02-05-ECW-Tallahassee, FL] C.W. Anderson vs Super Crazy
Migs replied to soup23's topic in February 2000
I enjoyed Bill Wiles making a Dennis Coralluzzo joke at ringside to get a laugh out of the fancam guy. This felt like a Sabu match, in a bad way - Crazy can pull off the spots, but doesn't have the Sabu vibe to make it work. Just table spots without much context. -
[2000-02-04-ECW-Jacksonville, FL] Mikey Whipwreck vs Spike Dudley
Migs replied to soup23's topic in February 2000
I really liked this as well. Thought the mat wrestling transitioned nicely into the brawling, which moved nicely into a good little finishing sequence. Simple and effective. -
[2000-02-04-ECW-Jacksonville, FL] Little Guido vs Mike Awesome
Migs replied to soup23's topic in February 2000
Not nearly as good as the last match they had. Guido's offense is basically all from Sal's interference, and this is otherwise a squash. -
Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels. Great moment when they win the belts, but the idea of two singles stars teaming up to crush the tag team champions basically destroyed tag team wrestling as we knew it from the 80s and early 90s, which is a really sad thing. (Arguably, this could also apply to the Outsiders, but they were at least a regular tag team that regularly wrestled other tag teams.)

Figured this might amuse a few of you - I write and perform sketch comedy and NYC. Linked below is video of a performance of a sketch I wrote about a wrestler who comes through very literally on his threats to opponents.

Really liked the vibe of the WCW Lucha pilot - the way they changed the presentation to hue closer to lucha TV, the venue choice seeming to match as well. Match was solid - liked Fit Finlay playing the dick outside outside the ring, he and Jericho might have had something working together there.

[2000-01-22-APW-Y2Kaos Weekend] Michael Modest vs Christopher Daniels
Migs replied to soup23's topic in January 2000
Interesting to contrast this with what was happening on the east coast. This is a little bit less formally inventive, although a lot more crisply worked. Still, the match didn't feel like it build particularly well - it just was strong in that department relative to the formless messes happening in CZW (which will get worse as the year goes on). One note here - this is for the Internet Title. APW was great at getting their stuff online - I watched a lot of it in '01-'02 just because it was freely available on their website in good quality (for the time). -
[2001-01-26-ICW-The Revolution Continues] Low Ki vs Tajiri
Migs replied to Superstar Sleeze's topic in January 2001
Agreed that this just never totally got going. Felt like it was a good beginning to a 15 minute match, but as a whole it was weak. I feel like if this match was 6 months later, it would have been a lot better - Tajiri is way more likely to bring his A game with Ki more established, and Ki had probably leveled up a bit too. -
This was pretty great. Really solid work with some nice big spots (the finish was terrific). No idea where Mike Mayhem went to after this.
-
Surprised to see people ranking this above the tag with Luger at Superbrawl. This really felt like a poor man's version of that to me, with a similar bomb-throwing style, but it doesn't quite take off in the same way and doesn't build as well.

My wife, on the other hand, was stoked about Cena/Nikki v. Miz/Maryse.
