Hot take: R-Truth should have gotten a run with the World Title.

This show looks so dire, but we're watching because what else is there to do? (Except obsessively worry about Coronavirus.)

Agreed. A 12-month run of bizarro Bryan PPV feuds would be A-OK with me.

Daniel Bryan vs. Drew Gulak announced for Elimination Chamber. Obviously a personal pet project of Bryan's. Even though Drew Gulak does nothing for me personally, I kind of dig the idea of this match, because at least it's a fresh pairing that would have no chance in hell of happening on PPV unless a top star asked for it. Being a "good hand" and "good at the rasslin'" means less than zero to me. Drew Gulak needs to make me care about him. His severe lack of personality and charisma are massive obstacles in that regard. We'll see what Bryan can get out of him and what Drew Gulak can bring out of himself. I'm rooting for Drew Gulak to make himself a star... I'm happy to have my mind changed and my eyes opened. Now, if only Bryan could request Mauro as his personal commentator... Then and only then would life truly be perfect!

Sasha Banks and Bayley are truly, madly, deeply very bad at their jobs when it comes to being heels - at least based on their "backstage promo" this week against the Bellas. Awful characters, cringe-worthy promo, completely unrealistic and unbelievable manner of speaking. Just abysmal on every conceivable level.

Crazy that Waltman is taller and bigger than Zayn. He was considered "small" back in the day.

Agreed. I have no problem with the wrestler or person - just this terrible Skinner 2.0 gimmick and look (or whatever the fuck it's supposed to be). It's awful and looks like 1995 WWF going up against the hot and hip Nitro (in this case, AEW). At least Shane Strickland got to keep the "Swerve" part of his name, and I assume everything else is similar enough?

People tuning in to see Matt Hardy - like me - were disappointed. If they have him, they should've pulled the trigger tonight. I'm assuming Jake's tease was for Brodie Lee (Lance Archer makes no sense in that role).

Someone explain the appeal of Cameron Grimes to me. His gimmick, persona, and costuming are the shits - Skinner 2.0. This is embarrassing next to the cool and glossy AEW (not counting decidedly uncool acts like Dark Order, PAC, and BOOM BOOM).

God, BOOM BOOM is the epitome of cringe - his ring work, persona, gear, everything. I'm happy for him that he's finally making big league money (presumably) and getting big league exposure after decades of toiling in the indies, but he's unwatchable to me.

God help me, I'm watching a match involving BOOM BOOM and The Dark Order in the hopes of seeing Matt Hardy or Brodie Lee (Luke Harper) show up.

The Brock Lesnar episode of Ruthless Aggression was the least interesting and informative one so far. While I wasn't expecting new interviews with Lesnar, it really would've helped to have them. Everything else was basically what we already know. Heyman made a good point that Lesnar's original stint was only two years, and look at all he did in such a short amount of time. I was mildly surprised that Lesnar wasn't around longer. I thought it was longer, but it was only 24 months. Brian Gewirtz parroted the usual "how dare you" company line about Lesnar walking away after everything they'd done for him and admitted a lot of people resented him for it. Gewirtz later walked that back a bit by saying it was better for Lesnar to go if he wasn't happy, because that isn't good for anyone.

The new Scott Norton book launched at $7.99 on Kindle. I usually wait for a deal, but I think that's a very fair and reasonable price for a new book, so I went ahead and bought it. Much better than something like Mayor Kane launching for $15 digitally. That's stupid pricing IMO.
