  1. Reed is a head-scratcher and just had a title (I guess this explains the quick loss). Ruff was just a champion a few months ago himself. WTF? Martinez is another head-scratcher IMO, but it's not like WWE ever knew what they had in her. She'd be a good veteran presence on any other roster. Fish is surprising but not really. Can't imagine that enticing Adam Cole to stay though. I wonder if negotiations broke down with Cole, and Fish lost his only lifeline because of it. Who knows... Update - Rumor: Cole signed a main roster contract? If that's true, I wonder if they let Fish go after that, just like they fucked Zelina over by releasing her man the minute she signed. What a fucking company!
  2. The Anderson-Eaton team with Michael Hayes as their manager (essentially combining The Horsemen, The Midnight Express, and The Freebirds) was one of the coolest things ever, and I absolutely loved them. I always thought they'd be the next great tag team, but the whole thing didn't last more than five minutes. I wonder what happened? One of the rare (only?) instances of WCW doing WWF-style vignettes and succeeding at them. Regal and Eaton were just that good. What a crying shame that Bobby Eaton was basically reduced to "enhancement talent" status in the Nitro era. Shame on Eric Bischoff for not having the knowledge or the class to realize the caliber of talent he had at his disposal in Eaton. "Beautiful" Bobby deserved a better send-off than that. Hopefully he at least made crazy Monday Night War money in those last few years, but I doubt it.
  3. My favorite Bobby Eaton story. My favorite story about any wrestler:
  4. This one is hard. Only 62, just a few months after his wife's passing.
  5. First time I heard the phrase was in the Sylvester Stallone-Wesley Snipes-Sandra Bullock classic Demolition Man - 20+ years before Nick Gage.
  6. If gymnastics can be an Olympic sport, why not pro wrestling? Just to be clear, I am not denigrating gymnastics in any way - it obviously requires extraordinary athleticism, but so does pro wrestling at its best. Rey Mysterio in his prime, for example, would have been an amazing Olympic-level pro wrestler. While I agree it's definitely an "in the bubble" conversation for Bryan and Lance to have, it's honestly not the worst idea in the world.
  7. You must be a riot at parties.
  8. Pat Laprade and Dan Murphy's Sisterhood of the Squared Circle: The History and Rise of Women's Wrestling has dropped to $2.99 on Kindle. I believe I paid $4.99 for it, so this is a great deal! (Edit: I thankfully got it at $2.99 when it was that price before.) https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B01M5IK3DQ
  9. Forget about Richard Fliehr. The bigger news is that JoJo Offerman was quietly released months ago. Seriously though, with I.R.S., Bo, and JoJo all getting released over the past year, I wonder if any of that played a part in Bray's rumored dissatisfaction.
  10. Mickie James indirectly blamed Bliss too, even if that wasn't necessarily her intention. Obviously she meant it as a criticism of WWE higher-ups, but she should've been smart enough to realize her comments could potentially cause unnecessary issues for Bliss.
  11. The official NXT account on Facebook just posted a pic of Keith Lee holding both NXT singles titles next to Triple H. God, I would love a Samoa Joe-Keith Lee program. That would be the most exciting thing NXT has done in years! I'm salivating just thinking about it.
  12. As someone who thought Joe's previous NXT Title reigns were a colossal bore, even I'm rooting for him to squash Kross and regain the Championship.
  13. Keith Lee losing to an irredeemable bore like Kross sucks.
  14. If EVIL isn't reprimanded after this, you might be right.
  15. If a non-entity like Impact can develop a relationship with NJPW - multiple times, at that - then there's nothing stopping WWE, except WWE itself.
  16. Japan dates, being allowed to work indies, less dates for more money (otherwise known as "The Brock"), creative control, the freedom to pick who he faces, a private plane or bus paid for by WWE, vegan treats hand-delivered to his locker room, more environmentally-friendly policies... I'm exaggerating with some of these, obviously, but there are a million little things he can ask for to make his life more comfortable.
  17. Probably highly unethical and potentially illegal to fire Colt for that - not that it'd ever happen, but still. This. But it might be enough of a deterrent to keep Punk from signing. It's an awkward situation, and who wants to put themselves through that? Like Bryan, I'll believe it when I see it. Wouldn't surprise me if both were leveraging AEW negotiations to ultimately get better deals with WWE - something we've seen time and time again with Randy Orton and others.
  18. It would be cool if Jeff Hardy shows up in NXT tonight, squashes Kross and wins the title cheaply, and then does a heel run where he acts like he's above the developmental territory. I'm not even a Jeff Hardy fan, but he's a golden god compared to Kross.
  19. I'm more interested in the Raw Women's Title than I've been in well over a year, so I'd say you're both wrong on that count. For once, WWE has elevated a popular, fun wrestler that's easy to root for. Ditto for when Big E finally (we hope) wins the men's World Title.
  20. Drew and Jinder have history. Drew wanted the feud while he was champ, but Jinder got injured again. As for Nikki, she won Money in the Bank with the "dork ass superhero gimmick," so I'd say she's doing fine too. (Unless/until she gets Otis-ed.) Edit: New Women's Champion. So much for sek's conspiracy theories.
  21. I wonder if Jeff Hardy is going down to NXT to be Kross's next feud. If not, WOOOOOOOOWWWWW, Kross is officially DOA on the main roster. And no Scarlet really kills his act. It's something he wanted though.
  22. JOHN CENA!!!
