    It's so funny to me that at one time, Paul Heyman and Arn Anderson were aligned. Nick Patrick looks like a referee out of Miami Vice. He also pulls off one of the clumsiest ref bumps you will ever see as he knocks himself out by yanking a chair out of Rick Rude's hands and falling backwards into the turnbuckle, never to be seen again. Steamboat is great at a lot of things but sometimes his offense just looks so wacky. TONS of heat at the end as Steamboat fights off Anderson and Rude. Good match, no finish but exciting ending. Huge downer that this is followed by a clip of Eric Bischoff.

    Every Cornette segment begins with him insulting the audience. A limo pulls up and some girls run down and chase it off. I'm so amused by the absurdity of all of this.

    The transition of Bob Holly from this clip to Hardcore Holly is hard to believe. He's wearing one of the most amazing pair of sunglasses you will ever see. They're swans. Ends rather suddenly, was this the end of the promo? I really wanted to hear more about Bob Holly hanging out with Julia Roberts.

    Oh wow. A video package on TIM HORNER. A great clip of Tim in the studio laying down some vocals. Just incredible. How could you not cheer for Tim Horner after this? SHAMELESS!

    Lumberjacks in street clothes and holding chairs makes a lot of sense. Why show up for this gig in your gear? I like it...they end up getting taken out and/or run off by the crazy Moondogs pretty quickly. Another wild brawl between these four with weapons and blood and general insanity. Richard Lee just goes crazy with the powder, throwing it at Jarrett, Lawler, referees, and even a lumberjack. I was waiting for him to go after some fans with it. Abrupt ending after Lawler hits a piledriver on a Moondog.

    Heated feud gets super bloody and super violent, just as it should be. Only a few short clips were shown, making me wonder what else USWA had on their show this week that was so important they couldn't air more of this.

    Sid is a nut. He rants and raves about Hogan for a while, yells at Gene, RULES THE WORLD. Sid and Harvey are such an odd pairing.

    Very strange setting in the huge empty auditorium. Flair rips his clothes off at the end, which was awesome. There have been a lot of Flair promos leading up to WM8 and just one Savage promo. The set obviously doesn't show everything from every show, I'm wondering what else Savage was up to during the build.

    Hogan and Piper cut this insane promo, get super hyped up for their match, then walk off and...have to sit through a Jim Brunzell / Warlord match before coming out to the ring. Talk about a cool down. HBK has left the building. That was hilarious, and in hindsight, really fit Michaels' being such a self-obsessed dick. I wonder who came up with that idea. I enjoyed the match. Flair does the corner flip onto the apron spot early and walks right into Hogan's boot that looked so perfect and the crowd just went ballistic. There are a bunch of spots here where Hogan looks like an absolute idiot, letting himself get easily distracted by the heels. No surprise how people were turning on him. Camera misses the final punch before the pinfall, that was TNA-riffic.

    Find it amusing that these two dudes would ever be mobbed by women at a Hooters, but I guess being associated with Jim Cornette in Tennessee brings that kind of attention to a man.

    So I really need to see this tag match now, that video served its purpose because now I really want to see more of these guys. One of them does a cartwheel into an elbow in the corner on Ace that looks super stiff.

    Dirty White Boy is PISSED. If there is anyone who can get a man that angry, it would for sure be Eric Embry. Dirty White Girl looks great.

    Jimmy Valient has got some of the strangest tattoos I have ever seen. I spent half the promo trying to figure out if that one on his head was a tattoo or just some just of dirt on his face. He somehow managed to find the one fan in the audience who did NOT was to be kissed and kissed her. That poor woman. Christopher looked like he was legit laughing after Valient asked for a booty bump, this segment was insane.

    Hogan comes across kind of delusional here. He doesn't recognize that Sid might have any sort of reason to be angry with him. He just calls Sid crazy, compares him to Dahmer and Manson, and spits out a bunch of catchphrases. No wonder people were turning on Hogan.

    Maybe I'm just being nostalgic but I really miss the pre-taped hype segments like this. I watched a lot of these things getting excited for PPVs I wouldn't be able to watch until they hit the video store. Flair was great, dressed amazing. Gene looked hilarious with his suit and microphone on the boat.

    I love this ref. Reminding everyone that HE was the referee, showing the patch over and over...that was fun. Also always enjoy the overselling of the sunset flip, Horowitz looked like a redwood sloooowly falling over.

    A young Randy Orton dressed as a bright green snake. This was quite comical.

    What the hell was Pritchard wearing? He looked like like he was getting ready to get on a space shuttle. That ref's eye looked great.

    No matter how often I see it, I'm still amazed at Kobashi's moonsault. He pulled one off in one of the first puro matches I ever saw and that's the moment I knew I was watching something completely different. This was a good match, Kobashi does a lot of little things with the headlock to keep it interesting. A lot of the AJPW matches this year so far seem to be table setting for the future.

    Totally in love with this crowd. As soon as Vale's music starts the entire front row stands up and goes crazy, pumping their fist and jumping around. I would love to know where this took place. A lot of trading of headbutts, Vale gets fed up and just bulls his way through Fujiwara's attacks until he gets the KO. This was fascinating.

    Aja Kong was the focal point of the entire match for me. From the badass dumping of the ceremonial pre-match flowers to the shitfit post-match, she was the star. The first fall was Kong underestimating her opponents and dropping the fall. She immediately changed plans, starting a wild brawl and bringing a chair into the ring. They dominated the second fall and evened the match. There is a spot shortly into the third fall that changed the entire match. Kimura goes to give Toyota a back suplex off the top rope, Toyota attempts to reverse and lands right on top of Kimura's face. The closeup of her with the missing tooth is shortly after this and Kimura never seems to fully recover from the blow. Kong is more or less left on her own. She puts up an incredible fight but eventually succumbs to a BRUTAL suplex off the top. I loved watching Manami Toyota. Her dropkicks were amazing and I loved watching her bridge out of pin attempts. She really has something.

    Just saw this match the other day and I have to say that this write up is excellent. I think the 5* rating given is dependent on changes in WWE in 2013 as a result of this match and I haven't seen anything from 2013 so I cannot comment but the match was very good. There are so many things that wrestlers do in a match that just defies logic and drives me crazy, the psychology used by the Shield to dismantle the team of Ryback, Bryan, and Kane was so much fun to watch.

    Mark Silver looks to be twice the size of Kakihara. I've never heard of Silver before, did he ever do anything in the US? Started out a slow power v. skill battle. Picked up in the last ten minutes when Kakihara missed a flying enziguri and got kicked in the head. He got up before ten and immediately tried it again and damn near got the KO. Then he tried it two more times! Turned into a real test of wills, Silver got bloodied up in another near KO and eventually the bell rang and...? A draw? I guess the point system doesn't factor into the time limit. I enjoyed the second half of this very much.

    Wow, the entire episode is here. This covers what was probably the biggest wrestling story of the year - the WWF steroid / sexual harassment scandals. Reading along with Observers from this time, this was a huge deal at the time. Vince was getting it from all ends, the only person not attacking him was the kid in the crowd with the Lex Luger shirt. There was a lot of talk about the scandals really damaging the entire business, but I think a quote from Meltzer's discussion about the experience explains perfectly why that never really happened: I was pretty young at this time and had never seen Donahue before. He was a standout to me, he went after guys, he asked a lot of tough questions, he kept control over eight guests, and was running around the studio like a madman. I was left imagining how awesome he would be on Raw in the Okerlund role. When the show started and he said the topic would be pro wrestling, the crowd was laughing. Donahue: "While you're laughing, somebody is wrestling....all the way to the bank." By the end, the crowd was totally into it. The Vince/Hodgson one on one was great, like others said, you could see Mr. McMahon come out. Does anyone remember Hodgson? Was he any good in the WBF or was Vince being honest? Vince getting Dave'd was hilarious. Dave's suit looked borrowed from Arezzi, he was swimming in that thing.
