  1. I dropped my subscription last fall, don't really miss it except for having access to back issues, the Karl Stern Show, and the archives of After Dark. I can go elsewhere for news and analysis. If there was an option for 3 or 4 bucks a month to just have access to podcasts and audio, I'd resubscribe. As of now though, can't see spending $11 a month on something I'll barely read.
  2. Excited to give you all a sneak peak at some of the show concepts we're kicking around for future episodes of the newly minted Never Hand Over Podcast. 3. I remember watching Worldwide at 11 AM on Saturday mornings on WSTR Channel 64 out of Cincinnati when I was a kid.
  4. Watch and review as much pro wrestling as possible. Gave up the F4W subscription last fall when I had to cut costs to start saving some cash. Don't really miss it at all.
  5. The NHO podcast returns and there is an absolute TON of stuff to talk about. In this episode, Brian and Adam dive into the recent WWE TLC (and Stairs) PPV, rundown the weekly TV schedule going into 2015, what to watch, what to skip, etc. There's also discussion in regards to previewing 2015 not only in wrestling but with what's happening and coming up on the blog, plus other discussion about NXT, ROH Final Battle, and loads more! http://neverhandover.blogspot.com/2014/12/nho-podcast-episode-4-tlc-ppv-2015.html Feedback is appreciated. Find us on Twitter @neverhandover or email us at [email protected] and be sure to subscribe on iTunes!
  6. This was a damn fine show and the Zayn/Neville match along the show ending had me on the edge of my seat. More thoughts here: http://neverhandover.blogspot.com/2014/12/nxt-takeover-r-evolution-12112014.html
  7. Same here. Yep, same here. I checked on my Kindle Fire last night and Prime Time wasn't even listed under the Vault section. I'm thinking that they've just got a placeholder up on Roku until they actually upload episodes.
  8. True, but didn't he come up with such luminaries as the Ding Dongs? Also, he set the direction for WCW to be cartoony in the early 90s (see 1991 as a good example). Not saying that the wrestling was bad, just saying that it was his idea for all of that.
  9. The NHO Podcast returns this week with Adam, Brian, and our friend Tim to chat about the early days of the UFC. We talk how we were introduced to the UFC, our favorite events, rule changes, evolution of the sport, fighters who transitioned to pro wrestling and vice versa plus TONS more in an awesome, packed episode! Even if you are not a fan of UFC/MMA, we think you'll still find this to be a very interesting discussion. http://neverhandover.blogspot.com/2014/12/nho-podcast-episode-3-ufcs-early-days.html The show is also available for download in MP3 format here. Please subscribe on iTunes! As always, feedback is appreciated, [email protected], on Twitter @neverhandover, or feel free to leave it on this thread as well!
  10. I would recommend my podcast, Never Hand Over, but that's just me Anyway, I think you've pretty much covered the whole gamut, however, The Ross Report has gotten better recently. Not a big fan of the LAW Sunday Night show like you but I enjoy Review-A-Wai and the Pollock and Bauer shows.
  11. Russo is just beyond horrible. He's publicly admitted to the fact that he and Ed Ferrara booked TV based on what they saw while watching Jerry Springer on weekday afternoons. Also, anyone remember when he tried to start his own indy promotion called Ring of Glory? Talk about awful. I saw the one DVD they put out and there was a four-man ladder match for the "Sword of Spirit", which was a real, legit sword hanging from the ceiling. Need I say more? Surprisingly Jim Herd hasn't been mentioned yet. For all the crap in early 90s WCW (think Big Josh, Blackblood, York Foundation, etc) I think he at least deserves a nomination.
  12. Can anyone recommend some good indy TV shows to check out on YouTube? I want to watch more than just the top indys (Chikara, CZW, Dragon Gate, etc) but have no idea where to start.
  13. Current Favorite Wrestler to Watch Currently Rusev, not just because he's a beast but also because my two-year old son goes absolutely nuts for Lana! Last Fun Match You Saw Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins from Hell in a Cell Wrestler You Want to See More of Not sure about this one as I'm slowly working my way back into watching indies Last Live Show Attended HWA in Middletown, Ohio this past July. Turns out this was probably their last event for the time being Match You Are Looking Forward to Watching Soon the Most Ambrose vs. Wyatt at TLC Last Fun Interview/Promo You Saw Haven't really seen any good ones lately. Last Interesting Thing You Read about Wrestling The Bleacher Report article on Kamala http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2267803-from-wrestling-legend-to-double-amputee-kamala-keeps-fighting Last Worthwhile Wrestling Podcast You Heard The Jim Cornette shows with Lance Russell were quite enjoyable. Still trying to get the Punk podcast to download and play. Most Fun You've Had Watching Wrestling Lately Anytime watching wrestling is a fun time!!
  14. The last CZW show I saw was the one they did in Hamilton, Ohio in 2012. It seemed then that they were sort of starting to steer away from the death match stuff but hints of it were still there. Personally, I always enjoyed the Carnage Cup as far as death match tourneys go. It always had the look and feel like it could be broken up by the cops at any time and was pretty much just one step up from a bad backyard show.
  15. One of my goals for 2015 is to really start following the indy scene again. I lost touch with it in late 2010-early 2011 and haven't been able to catch back up with it. I have been watching ROH here and there and attending a few local shows but I really want to get immersed in it again. This new wave of people like Timothy Thatcher, Biff Busick, etc sounds intriguing. Random question though, besides Tournament of Death, are there any more deathmatch tournaments happening on a regular basis or has that fad sort of faded away?
  16. Yeah, I might as well plug my show as well: Never Hand Over Podcast http://neverhandover.blogspot.com Click here to subscribe on iTunes
  17. I'm guessing the Network on Roku updated the other day as everything I had saved in my watchlist and everything that was in the "continue watching" section went POOF! Anyway, I watched the special on the Usos this afternoon. Quite good for a 30 minute profile piece. I figured it'd just be a fluff piece but it went into a lot more detail than I thought it would. I especialy liked the part where they discussed how Umaga got them into wrestling. If you have 30 minutes to kill, I'd suggest checking it out.
  18. The NHO Podcast returns! This week, Adam and Brian break down Survivor Series, figure out where Sting fits in to the WWE and theorize who could have main evented WrestleMania II besides King Kong Bundy. Then Brian discusses what's been announced for ROH Final Battle and some upcoming events he's attending. Finally, the hosts chat how Impact Wrestling will fit in to their new home, and then look at some upcoming episodes. An early show this week due to the Thanksgiving holiday. We'll be back next week on Thursday. http://neverhandover.blogspot.com/2014/11/nho-podcast-episode-2-survivor-series.html The show is also available in MP3 format for download! We are also working on getting an iTunes feed set up. In the meantime, to listen in iTunes follow the steps below: 1. Open iTunes and select "Subscribe to Podcast" in the file menu. 2. In the box that pops up, enter http://feeds.feedburner.com/blogspot/zxYcB 3. Enjoy! Feedback is appreciated, [email protected] or follow us on Twitter @neverhandover
  19. Thanks for the feedback Soup! A couple things you mentioned ... You mentioned you wanted to know who was who ... on the board here Brian is Mando and Adam (that's me!) is kayfabe1984 MMA won't be talked about a whole lot, just here and there. Only reason we mentioned it on this show was because we watched it this past weekend and wanted to share some thoughts. The only other MMA stuff we have lined up is the "UFC Early Days" show we'll be recording in a few weeks. As soon as the TNA news was announced yesterday, I knew that segment was shot. However, the show was already in the can. Glad you enjoyed the show.
  20. It's the debut edition of the Never Hand Over Podcast! In this episode, hosts Adam and Brian chat about the 11/17 Raw, Bellator and UFC from 11/15, preview the upcoming Survivor Series PPV, play a game of "If not Diesel, then who", discuss Lucha Underground, the possibilities if TNA goes six feet underground, and a preview upcoming episodes. http://neverhandover.blogspot.com/2014/11/nho-podcast-episode-1-survivor-series.html Feedback is appreciated, [email protected] or follow us on Twitter @neverhandover
  21. Debuting this Thursday at http://neverhandover.blogspot.com, it's the Never Hand Over Podcast! On this week's episode, we will be discussing "If not Diesel, then who?" Who would have been a better choice for WWF champion in 1995 than Diesel. We'll each be picking two people, one who we think business wise would have been better than Diesel and one who we personally would have liked to have seen gotten a run with the belt. For future episodes, here are a few of the topics we have lined up for thus far ... - Wrestling's Greatest Factions: Using the WWE "Greatest Factions" DVD as a springboard, we will be reviewing the best matches from the DVD set along with a discussion of who should/should not have been included. - Clash of the Champions vs. Saturday Night's Main Event: We will be comparing the two series talking some of our favorites from each series. Also we'll be debating which series was better, do the WWE DVD sets give an accurate representation of each series, and did the 06-08 reboot of SNME tarnish its overall legacy. - UFC Early Days: We'll be joined by our friend Tim to talk the SEG days of the UFC and our favorite fights, wacky characters, the snooze-fest that was Gracie vs. Shamrock at UFC 5, and more. We'll also have a show based either around HWA or Southwest Ohio Indy wrestling, "Grab Bag" shows where we'll just basically BS about old stuff, new stuff, and whatever else we feel like talking about. We hope that everyone will give the show a listen and provide some feedback for us. Leave it here or email us at [email protected] Thanks!
  22. I'm gonna cast a vote for Sean O'Haire. He seemed like a can't miss prospect at the end of WCW but completely crashed and burned once they folded.
  23. My current podcast subscriptions: Wrestling/MMA Talk is Jericho The LAW Squared Circle Gazette Sherdog Radio Network Rewind Steve Austin Show Ross Report WON (mainly for Observer Live on Sundays and After Dark on Fridays) Art of Wrestling (I don't listen to every show, but a good chunk of them) MLW (mainly for the Cornette Show and Bauer & Pollock) PWO-PTBN Podcasts Non-Wrestling Rachel Maddow Rick Harrison's Pawn Cast (Only if it's a show that looks interesting) We the People w/ Jesse Ventura (Only if there is an interesting topic he's discussing) I listed to and from work, plus when I have "me time" after everyone else in the house has gone to bed as I usually stay up until about 12:30 every night. Always looking for new and interesting shows to listen to as well.
  24. I'll cast my vote for Giant Gonzalez. Erik Watts would definitely be a close second, as would Renegade.
  25. About bloody time. I'd like to see them put out some more of those non-PPV events. Always thought those were really unique.
