  2. WWF NEWS -It is safe to say that the WWF went ALL IN this past week with the MSG special. They are looking for a huge rating but also a kickoff point for the fall "season" of the WWF. With the NFL starting up, it will be interesting to see how the WWF responds but right now, it appears they are going balls to the wall with former feuds and new ones. Old rivalries die hard... -Two of the biggest feuds coming out of the MSG show are the Funks vs Briscoes, however there is no word on if Terry will ever be back to continue his end of the feud. The other is the "Real World Title" feud in which Nick Bockwinkel returned with the older version of the WWF Championship belt. This will be the big feud on the A shows to culminate towards the end of the year, but with both Bock and Hogan having Japanese tours, it will be interesting to see how the WWF juggles all of these scheduling concerns. When a man loves a WOMAN The WWF shockingly brought Woman into the promotion to work with Gino Hernandez as the opposite of the Randy Savage/Elizabeth dynamic. while it is said that Savage and Liz portray more of a regal presence, that of Hernandez and Woman will be more of a rock n roll relationship that may end up being more captivating to the fans. Hernandez is already a cult hit in the WWF with younger men at the shows which has recently caused some issue with Randy Savage who is the clear babyface. What happens in Canada...stays in... wait... WWF official were not overly upset but plan to work out the concern with Bret Hart showing up on the Rougeau Memorial Cup with Jimmy Hart. Hart has primarily been working as a babyface but with these happenings, one would assume he could be turning heel. Grass isn't always greener... The money was there... the high profile feud didn't happen... this is the safe assumption as to how Ted Dibiase has been used in the WWF. He has already spoken out about possibly going back down south where he can be the showcase of a promotion rather than playing second fiddle in the top heel role. TV Woes... Once again, the WWF is in trouble with its television providers over the Piper's Pit angles over the past couple of weeks. Word within the company is that the Pit has already been pulled for the time being. We will see how Piper's role changes with these changes. This isn't helping the WWF's chances of getting on Prism for the Philadelphia Shows in the near future... Midwest Invasion The WWF has its first television tapings in St. Louis this week. Word has it that they will pull out all the stars for the tapings. Plus they will be in Chicago in early October. Look for more Midwest shows to pop up for the WWF in the coming months.
  3. All Japan is off and running with perhaps the biggest angle if you can call it that for a Japanese promotion with the return of Tenryu to the company!
  4. (02.09.1995) AJPW Summer Action Series II 1995 - Tag 11 @ Nanao Citizen Gymnasium in Nanao, Ishikawa, Japan ALL ASIA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP Jun Akiyama & Takao Omori © defeated Masa Fuchi & Tsuyoshi Kikuchi BATTLE ROYAL 1. Akira Nogami 2. Akira Taue 3. Genichiro Tenryu 4. Jun Akiyama 5. Kenta Kobashi 6. Koki Kitihara 7. Masa Fuchi 8. Masao Inoue 9. Mitsuhara Misawa 10. Norio Honaga 11. Osamu Nishimura 12. Rusher Kimura 13. Samson Fuyuki 14. Stan "The Lariat" Hansen 15. Takao Omori 16. Takashi Iizuka 17. Tamon Honda 18. Toshiaki Kawada 19. Tsuyoshi Kikuchi 20. Yoshinari Ogawa -This was a very intense Battle Royal with sides being evenly drawn from the outset. It was Tenryu who sided with Ogawa, Fuyki, and Kitihara as we saw a Revolution Reunion right in the middle of the ring. On the other side, it was Taue, Fuchi, Kikuchi, and Masao Inoue who came together for the Holy Demon Army! Then we saw Misawa, Kobashi, and Akiyama side up for the Super Generation Army! Kawada was right in the middle, as all hell broke loose. Stan Hansen was a man alone for all intensive purposes but he continued his issues with Misawa and in the final moments we saw people eliminated it came down to Taue, Tenryu, and Kawada. It became every man for himself and we saw Tau nail Kawada in the back of the head with a nasty kick before eliminating him followed by Tenryu hitting a Folding Powerbomb on Taue for the final elimination and victory. We saw Revolution come back in the ring and join him as they celebrate with Tenryu. They put their coats on before Tenryu holds a coat out for Kawada who walks off!
  5. WWF on Tour 9/2 New York City, NY – Madison Square Garden Gorilla: Welcome everyone to Madison Square Garden. I am Gorilla Monsoon joined tonight by Jesse Venutra. Jesse, it is a packed house here in New York City at the greatest arena in the world, Madison Square Garden. Jesse, two titles on the line tonight and a huge 10-man tag, with elimination rules. Jesse: This is perhaps the biggest card in the history of MSG Gino Monsoon and I can’t wait to see it all go down. Gorilla: Fans we have been waiting for the big one, our main event with Hulk Hogan defending the World Title against the Masked Superstar. Jesse: I am calling it Monsoon… we will see a new world champion tonight! Gorilla: I think there are some who agree with that but I am solidly behind the Hulkster tonight. Randy Savage will go after the Intercontinental Championship against Gino Hernandez. Jesse: I am the biggest Randy Savage fan Monsoon but his head is not in the right place. He’s focused on Elizabeth and that may cost him! Gorilla: Plus tonight we see the big return of Dory Funk Jr in a six-man against the Briscoes and Mike Rotundo! Jesse: Much like the Macho Man, I think the Briscoes are too focused on the feud than the match… it could get messy. Gorilla: How about the big 10-man tag… Elimination Rules… Jesse: This one could get out of hand. It could come down to 5 on 1 Monsoon! Gorilla: But you gotta think with guys like John Studd, King Kong Bundy, and of course Andre… they could count for 2 people! Jesse: That may be true… but you can’t fight the numbers with guys like this! Gorilla: That is certainly true. Fans it is time to head to the ring for our opening contest… let’s head to the ring! Brutus Beefcake vs Ted Dibiase -A nice match up to remind the world that Ted Dibiase is relevant and one of the best wrestlers in the world. He handles Beefcake with little to no problem. Brutus gets in some offensive maneuvers but Dibiase is a sly cat inside that ring and he nails Brutus with a nasty right hand before setting him up for a brainbuster suplex. He then locks in the figure four leglock and gets the victory. Brutus looks to be banged up pretty good and Dibiase is a special kind of angry. -A nice way to kick things off with Gorilla and Jesse putting over Ted Dibiase as a contender for the World or IC titles. They talk about the issues with Sgt. Slaughter and the Russians. They put over Nikita as the future of the WWF and someone who simply can’t be stopped as we head to the ring. Sgt. Slaughter vs Nikita Koloff -A very interesting 5-minutes of action with these two. Nikita is nowhere near ready to go in singles competition. We see the Sarge carry things for the five-minutes and then out of nowhere it is Ivan and Krusher who come down to serve as a distraction. Sarge turns around and finds a Russian Sickle in his face as he goes out of the ring to the floor! Here we see Ivan and Krusher go to work as we get a DQ! It is a 3 on 1 but here comes Brian Blair and Jim Brunzell the Killer Bees! They aren’t much but they are back up and they go toe to toe with the Russians enough for officials to come out. Sarge is in a pretty bad way here… -They continue to put over Nikita but talk about how this one is far from over. Up next they talk about a new superstar coming in… the One Man Gang. They talk about him being over 500 pounds and almost 6’10! We see him in the entryway as we cut to the ring for action. SD Jones vs The One Man Gang -A BIG debut here as the One Man Gang comes out looking bigger and nastier than ever. He handles SD Jones with no problems, and shows off his power in the showcase. Gorilla and Jesse put him over as a major contender and wonder just who will be able to control this guy. We see the big 747 splash for the 1….2…3 and the Gang is the winner. He works the crowd as one of the best big uglies to ever step foot in the ring. -Jesse and Gorilla put over the feud between the Briscoes and Funks. They go back to the breaking of Terry Funk’s arm almost a year ago. They talk about Dory’s return and then reinstatement due to Jack and Jerry wanting this match. Here we go! SIX-MAN TAG Mike Rotundo, Jack, & Jerry Briscoe VERSUS Dory Funk Jr, Bob Orton, & Dick Slater w/ Jimmy Hart -This one has got a lot of heat coming in as the fans know the story of the Briscoes and the Funks. We get a fun 15-minute contest with some good tag team work but when it is Jack Briscoe and Dory Funk Jr, MSG comes unglued! The crowd goes wild for Funk and Briscoe who throw rights and lefts all over the place. Throughout all the chaos we see Rotundo and Jerry working well against Orton and Slater but in the end, with the chaos, we see Orton and Slater isolate Mike Rotundo. Jimmy Hart jumps over and holds on to him while Bob Orton runs over and rams a high knee into his arm and Mike is in a bad way. Jack may be getting revenge on the other side of the ring but Rotundo is hurt! Jerry is late to the save, as this one has broken down. Jack looks outside the ring and here comes Dory with a high knee to his back and then a roll up with a hand full of tights for the 1…2….3!! Dory, Orton, and Slater have won this battle but the war is far from over. Mike Rotundo is holding on to his arm as he is ushered to the back. This could spell trouble for the Briscoes as Jack was pinned by his nemesis and his partner was hurt in the process. -Gorilla and Jesse put over the injury to Mike Rotundo and wonder how this will affect his future with the WWF. We cut to some clips from Piper’s Pit over the last couple of weeks as Gorilla says this one is going to boil over in a big way… it is Piper vs Snuka! Jimmy Snuka w/ Tonga Kid vs Rowdy Roddy Piper w/ The Barbarian -For as wild as the previous match was, we get a hard fought battle to kick things off here with the crowd solidly behind the Superfly. Early one we get some outside interference and the referee calls for this one to become a TAG TEAM MATCH and the Barbarian and Tonga get involved. We get about 12 more minutes of action and when Piper and Snuka hook up the crowd goes nuts! The finish is messy with Piper and the Barbarian trying to double up on Tonga but he ducks a double clothesline and here comes Snuka off the top rope with a high cross body on Barb for the 1…2….3! Piper rolls out of the ring and could care less as he goes to the back. Inside the ring, Tonga and Snuka are ready for more! -Gorilla and Jesse say there a lot of scores to be settled still after that one. Our next contest has got 10 of the best in the WWF in Elimination Tag Team Action! They talk about all the possibilities of what could go down and say that the Family has got the edge because they have teamed more in the past. Gorilla says Andre is a leader and will lead his men! 5 ON 5 ELIMINATION MATCH Andre the Giant, Rocky Johnson, Tony Atlas, Dynamite Kid, & Davey Boy Smith VERSUS Big John Studd, King Kong Bundy, Hercules, Krusher Kruschev, & Ivan Koloff {For this one, it is going to be easier to just talk about who eliminated whom and when it happened} -Rocky Johnson was pinned by King Kong Bundy @ 4:54 -Hercules was pinned by Davey Boy Smith @ 9:45 -The Russians & British Bulldogs were both counted out @ 16:23 -Big John Studd was disqualified when he hit Andre with a chair @ 20:34 -Tony Atlas was pinned by King Kong Bundy @ 23:11 -King Kong Bundy was the final elimination when Andre the Giant pinned him @ 26:43! -An interesting 10-man there with Andre being the sole survivor. Jesse and Gorilla then put over the big IC title contest and the issue with Gino Hernandez trying to accost Elizabeth. Jesse says that Savage can’t lose his composure in this one… but will he be able to handle that pressure if Hernandez goes after Liz? INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP Randy Savage w/ Elizabeth vs Gino Hernandez © -This one is a wild contest with action all around ringside as Gino Hernandez is incensed on getting close to Elizabeth and Savage will stop at nothing to stop him. Gorilla and Jesse build the story of the match but it ends up hurting things more than helping in the long run. The finish sees Savage get the upper hand and he is looking to finish off Hernandez but as he goes up to the top rope for the flying elbow he looks down and there is a mysterious figure behind Elizabeth and the person pushes her to the ground… Savage can’t believe it but here comes Hernandez as he crotches Savage and then hits a superplex for the 1….2….3!! Gino Hernandez retains the IC title as he welcomes this figure in the ring… the person takes off this mysterious veil… -IT IS WOMAN! Gorilla and Jesse can’t believe it. They don’t know who this beautiful woman is as Gino gives her a kiss and lets her hold on to the IC Title. This is pure chaos as medics are checking on Elizabeth and Savage is shown with tears in his eyes carrying her to the back! Gorilla and Jesse continue to put it over as they talk about the big main event coming up. They put over Masked Superstar and Hulk Hogan in a big way and talk about the world title. It comes down to this… let’s tae it to the ring. MAIN EVENT WWF CHAMPIONSHIP Hulk Hogan © vs Masked Superstar -A big time main event here with Gorilla and Jesse putting this one through the roof. These guys have some history but haven’t been in the ring together yet. They put over the strengths of both men. This is an interesting 20-minute contest with both men getting in some offense and Hogan making Masked Superstar looking like a million dollars. He sells everything for him before we get the big Hulk Hogan comeback that makes the fans go wild. We see him Hulk up in a big way and nail and couple of huge shots before hitting and AXE BOMBER that puts Masked Superstar out of the ring. They fight outside the ring while the referee is counting. Masked Superstar runs at Hogan but he moves and Superstar nails the ringpost before Hogan grabs him for a BODYSLAM outside the ring! Hogan gets back in as the referee hits 10 and Hogan is the winner! He retains the title with a count out victory and the crowd pops! Hogan grabs the belt and welcomes Masked Superstar back in the ring but he walks off. Superstar walks to the back while Hogan is posing for the fans… but then… -Wait just a moment… out of the back… it is the HEENAN FAMILY! Bobby is coming down to the ring with Studd, Bundy, and Hercules! They surround the ring as Hogan welcomes them in! HERE WE GO! It is a 3 on 1 fight and Hogan fends them off for a moment but the numbers game is just too much! Gorilla and Jesse are going wild as Studd and Bundy tie Hogan up in the ropes. Hercules helps out as Heenan is screaming at him and then… out of the back… ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! -NICK BOCKWINKEL! WHAT IN THE WORLD IS GOING ON HERE! Bock gets in the ring and undoes his coat and he has got the WWF Championship around his waist! He takes the belt off and he is screaming and shoving it in Hogan’s face! Gorilla and Jesse are going ape shit right now! Bock puts the title right in his face and screams that HE IS THE REAL WORLD’S CHAMPION! This is pure chaos as Jesse and Gorilla send us home…
  6. WWF Superstars Vince McMahon & Jesse the Body Ventura Matches from Poughkeepsie, NY – Mid-Hudson Civic Center Vince: WELCOME EVERYONE TO WWF SUPERSTARS! Vince McMahon here alongside Jesse The Body Venutra! Jesse we get a preview of what is going to go down here tonight in Madison Square Garden as the WWF returns to the MSG Network and it is going to be one of the biggest events in the history of the WWF! Jesse: That’s right McMahon and lemme tell you something right now… I have spoken to Bobby Heenan… he told me about the surprise tonight for Hogan and it may just very well be the end of Hulkamania tonight FOREVER! Vince: I have to disagree with you there Jesse. Hulkamania has taken the world by storm and tonight the Hulkster defends the title against the Masked Superstar in what will be a clash of the Titans! Jesse: You have got to be kidding me McMahon… it is not just the Masked Superstar but perhaps more that Hogan will have to be up against! Vince: Whenever Bobby Heenan is around… anything can happen. Fans we have got a very special broadcast for you today including a big main event with a special preview of that big FIVE on FIVE Elimination match tonight! Jesse: When you get ten men in the ring… anything can happen! Vince: That is right Jesse… let’s take it to the ring! The Masked Superstar defeated Brian Blair -Jesse and Vince put over Masked Superstar as though he is the strongest force in the world. Jesse says this is the man to take the title from Hogan and there is nothing anyone can do to stop it. We see him destroy Brian Blair tonight and finish him with the Cobra Clutch Slam for the 1….2…3! He looks to be in shape and tonight could be his night!! *COMMERCIAL* -Superstar is back with Jesse and Vince talking about Dory Funk Jr coming back last night and the big six-man we will see tonight in MSG. They put over this feud with the Funks and the Briscoes and talk about how only one of these families can stand when it is all said and done. They wonder where Terry is and if he will get involved? They talk about Mike Rotundo having issues with Orton and Slater and how he may be the one who makes a difference! Mike Rotundo defeated Barry Horowitz -A pretty simple showcase for Rotundo who continues to build momentum as a singles wrestler here in the WWF. He certainly has got the skills in the ring and we see him work his stuff as he finishes things off with a nice FISHERMAN’S SUPLEX for the 1…2…3!! Rotundo looks good here and he is going to have to be on his A game when he steps into the family feud match tonight! *COMMERCIAL* -Superstars returns with Vince and Jesse talking about the Russians and how they want to get their hands on the tag titles. They talk about how Ivan Koloff has gone on record and called out Sgt. Slaughter. Vince puts over how he is sending his nephew Nikita to do his bidding tonight and that could be the worst thing for Slaughter! Ivan & Nikita Koloff defeated Omar Atlas & Mr. Wrestling II -Just an ass-whooping from start to finish here. Ivan does some work but it is Nikita who finishes things off. Wrestling II and Omar just can’t seem to get it together as he destroys them both with some big powers moves and then a pair of RUSSIAN SICKLES for the 1…2….3! Ivan and Krusher will be in the 10-man tag tonight but will Nikita be able to go up against the Sarge? *COMMERCIAL* Superstars is back and we go to the set of Piper’s Pit… it is here that we see Piper standing in the Pit with a bunch of food around. He puts over how he has a buffet available for Tonga Kid and Jimmy Snuka and then immediately brings them out as the crowd is going nuts! Piper has got security around him as he continues to talk shit and put over how these guys are just Savages and shouldn’t be allowed in wrestling. Security continues to hold the men back as Piper then starts throwing fruit at them which causes a fight to break out with Snuka, Tonga, and the security guards! Piper gets close and then out of nowhere here comes the BARBARIAN! He nails Snuka from behind as Piper jumps in and he is stomping and kicking away at Tonga Kid! This is pure chaos as Piper’s Pit is being torn apart. Security and officials come out and push Piper and the Barbarian away! Jesse and Vince are going wild putting this over! *COMMERCIAL* -Superstars is back and once again, Vince McMahon is apologizing for Roddy Piper’s behavior… he says that we have seen the last of Piper’s Pit for a while. Jesse says that Freedom is speech is what he fought for this country for and Piper has the choice to do it… even if people don’t think it is right! They take this last chance to really push the MSG event tonight as we cut to the main event tonight with a very special contest. Rocky Johnson vs Big John Studd w/ Bobby Heenan -A nice showcase for both men. It is a good 11-minute contest with both men getting some offense but we see John Stuff take the upperhand thanks to Bobby Heenan. We see Johnson go for a flying clothesline but Studd nails him with a right hand and it looks like he had something in it. He blindly tosses it out to Heenan who shove it in his pocket. Studd then covers Johnson for the 1….2…3!! Studd and Heenan look like they have stolen one here but that may not be the case tonight when it is a 10-man tag with Elimination rules from MSG!
  7. I agree with Edgar, that food is going to be hot. I do have to voice some concern of the Iron Sheik being a world champion at this point with a plethora of other top guys you have on your roster. It just seems like a weak choice however I've been wrong in the past and I could be wrong again with this. I think you've got a lot of ovens in the fire and a lot of people in a few and the world title is almost second nature to a lot of these feuds when it comes down to the emotion that goes into them. Hopefully that Focus can be redirected over the next couple of months and she can either be a great Champion or someone who can transition the title to somebody who is white hot like a gordy like a kerry like a Dusty or like a Harley somebody who's really going to make that title worthwhile in the long run
  8. Who is the 3rd in the pack with the Kiniski's then?
  9. WWF has put the #2 pick in the 1985 Fresh Face draft on the block... if you are interested, I will let you know who I am picking at #1 and who will be available for #2.

They put over how every single win means something as they put over Brutus Beefcake who is in action tonight! Brutus Beefcake defeated Johnny Rivera -Brutus is out looking good here. He isn’t the Barber yet… just a good looking muscle head who works stiff in the ring. 15. I meant Hit Man... but I don't doubt that Savage may show up out of nowhere and lay claim to the tournament victory.
  16. Anxiously awaiting to see how the Macho Man and Cowboy Bob finish up... Jimmy Hart has a lot invested in this tournament.
  17. Yeah, my argument for Spivey would be to have him work for one more year. He is old and beat up at this point but could still work tags. That's all I'd ask for him to be available is until December of 1996. I am good either way though.

  19. Got a chance to sit down and get back into reading. Lutte continues to impress and personalizes itself apart from the competition. I like how all things build towards the tournament but you still have some big stuff going back on homebase. I like the use of the managers and the slow rise of Hotstuff. I see him being a big part of Lutte's future.
  20. You have got MACW down with the right movements right now. I like the house show circuits and the dark match main events. It is something I would like to utilize but just don't find time to do. Interesting to see Backlund here and it is inevitable before he and Flair really heat up. All the while we have this Magnum TA guy who is ready to explode onto the world... good stuff to come.
  21. I like seeing the growth of the AWA and with the 2nd show, things will get bigger. With names like Wahoo and Rude freshening things up you can still call back to your Patera and Steamboat stalwarts. I still think there is a lot of potential in Mr. Wonderful around these parts and I really look forward to what Bad News Allen could become.
  22. Some friggen huge matches coming up... love Dusty vs Harley and the Von Erichs vs Freebirds... but I am really excited to see the Hacksaw Reed vs JYD contest. Continued success from the USWA!
  23. In perhaps the most shocking news in the world of Japanese Wrestling, Genichiro Tenryu has reportedly signed with All Japan for the upcoming tour! This is one of the biggest comeback stories in professional wrestling and many thought that Baba would never allow the signing. It came through that Misawa and Kawada were the ones who brokered the deal with Tenryu who was recently looking for a fill time job. No word on if he will return to the ring or just have a position in the company and there is still some turmoil between Tenryu and Baba.We will see if cooler heads prevail as everyone knows that Tenryu will be an asset to the company but will egos prevail? In regards to the Junior division of All Japan, Misawa has put together an eight man PURE tournament for the All Japan Jr. Heavyweight Championship. It is said to be a PURE tournament, meaning that there will be a true champion. It will be double elimination and held throughout the tour. Names like Black Tiger, Ultimo Dragon, Tsuyoshi Kikuchi, Akira Nogami, Osamu Nishimura, and Yoshinari Ogawa have already been announced. With two more spaces available, we will see who will be involved in this special tour feature. Stan Hansen was one of the few Gaijin who stayed around after the Misawa booking move. He and Misawa have a good relationship and we will see how Hansen handles the change as he is loyal to Baba. Hansen for all intensive purposes is in the twilight of his career but he feels still as though he has got something to prove to the new regime.
  24. Danny Spivey's in ring career is over in October but All Japan can get some use out of him until then... unless we want to act like he never got injured by Diesel...
  25. It was after the event that things changed. Giant Baba struggled physcially after the match and got medical attention. It was during this time that Baba decided to relinquish his booking duties to Mitsuhara Misawa for the foreseeable future! Misawa, the current Triple Crown Champion, is said to be very excited about the possibility of turning things around for All Japan and made that clear on his first night when he sent many of the Gaijin home after the event. Furnas, Kroffat, and the Fantastics were some of the main names gone and some were surprised when Williams and Ace were also sent home. Misawa is going to be giving the boys a break for the next couple of days before coming back on September 2nd with a special television episode and the introduction of some very exciting Junior Heavyweights. Misawa is going to look at some of the talent from around Japan and the world and possibly cause some heads to turn on the way All Japan is perceived for the foreseeable future. One of the major names to be brought in was New Japan's Black Tiger, aka Eddie Guerrero. This shake up has shocked the Japanese wrestling world and there are a lot of eyes on Misawa as he begins his session in September to try and put All Japan on top of the wrestling world.
