I like the way these shows are written and put together. Quick hitters... simple match ups... everything moving forward. Good main event on World Wide... Al Perez was always a big what if to me. Block A has a huge contest with Wahoo and Kamala... I will be tuning in to check out who survives that one. In other news Rugged Ron is my pick to end 88 on a very high note.

Samu and Fatu The Nasty Boys The Great Muta All on the block for the WWF
-
"Wahoo tried to resist but ultimately had to prioritize his health for the tournament and tapped. " That is such a good line... the fact that he's thinking about the future of the tournament as to why he goes down. Great psychology. I love the Georgia Bulldogs... just gets me every time I read it. Tom Zenk comes in with some fire as well as Chris Benoit. The Road Warriors are on top of their game... always a fan of their NWA runs. ""The Doctor of Desire Tom Prichard vs The Ace Bob Caudle w/JJ Dillon." I know it is a misprint... but the Ace Bob Caudle is amazing. I have a feel Bob Orton will far well against the Doctor of Desire.

8/22 Superstars of Wrestling w/ Vince McMahon & Jesse the Body Ventura Vince and Jesse pop on the screen as we have got a ruckus crowd for this Superstars of Wrestling. Vince and Jesse run down the card with a huge main event… Jimmy Snuka takes on Big John Studd! Plus we’ll see the Powers of Pain, the Iron Sheik, Tito Santana, Terry Taylor, and the Honky Tonk Man! Jesse says he can’t wait to see some of his favorites tonight… then we cut to the ring for our opening contest! Matt Borne goes against Drake Clarke and defeats him with the double foot stomp from the middle rope! Throughout the contest Vince and Jesse talk about Borne competing in the WWF before but now has found himself in a better position. He is hoping to chop down some trees and make some waves here this time around. The Powers of Pain w/ Mr. Fuji defeated Ty Dignman and Bobby Wallace. During the contest we hear about the power and strength of the Powers of Pain. They are a force to be reckoned with in the WWF and they will definitely be a challenger for the Demolition. Jesse says he thinks Fuji has got these guys primed for the upset. Vince knows that Demolition will be tough champions to beat and wonders if any team in the world could possibly do it. We’ll find out at SummerSlam! Tito Santana defeated Jeffrey George. Vince and Jesse go back and forth on this one with Tito and Martel. We get an inset interview from Martel who let’s us know that Tito is just another challenger… he knows all of his offense and he will break his defense and once again reign supreme as the WWF Intercontinental Champion! The Iron Sheik defeated Phil Quincy. Sheik doesn’t look the best here but he still has a name. Jake Roberts gives us an inset interview saying he’s come to the WWF to show the world just what he can do. It may start with the Sheik but it will be the end for anyone else in his way. Vince and Jesse put over Roberts as a top tier challenger and someone that Hulk Hogan and Rick Martel need to keep an eye on. The Steiner Brothers destroy The Executioner and The Reaper. Vince is just gushing over these two… they are very raw but you can see the potential. Rick is pretty polished… we get an interesting spot during the contest though. Is that… Kevin Sullivan?! What is this guy doing.. We see Rick Steiner with a nasty German Suplex to set up a Bulldog for the finish. One his way out of the ring… Sullivan pulls him to get his attention. Scott comes over but Sullivan pushes him away. Rick backs off Scott… hmm. The Honky Tonk Man w/ Jimmy Hart shake, rattles, and rolls Rico Bendito. Jesse says that Honky is returning from a world wide tour. He is going to debut his newest single and he is going to shake, rattle, and roll his way to a title here in the WWF before too long. Vince wonders what his real strength is… singing or wrestling because he doesn’t know. Honky looks good in the ring and he’s got some heat… is he the leader of Jimmy’s Hart Foundation?! Terry Taylor makes his return to the WWF here and looks to be in tremendous shape. Jesse wonders just how well Taylor can be. Vince says he is a guy who trains all the time but also spends time studying the sport. He says Taylor uses technology to prepare for his matches and Jesse points out the science behind his success. Taylor with a nasty piledriver gets the victory and he looks good. He even kicks his opponent out of the ring saying he isn’t worth the hassle! Jimmy Snuka w/ Andre vs Big John Studd w/ Hercules & Bobby Heenan - Showcase time and we’ve got all kinds of shenanigans outside the ring. The crowd is very excited to see Andre come out with Snuka. These two are a formidable team but we all know Andre is on the back end of his illustrious career. Studd handles Snuka pretty well but it is the interference of Hercules and Heenan that shakes things up. That is until Andre comes over and bangs their heads together. Snuka then with a dropkick on Studd’s back and he goes flying out of the ring to the floor! Andre picks up Studd and runs him into the ring post! The referee didn’t see it but still counts and gets to 10… Snuka is the winner! He and Andre look strong here… what will happen come SummerSlam?! All American Wrestling The Nasty Boys w/ Paul Heyman defeated Greg Michaels & Tom Shaw Los Boricuas defeated Tom Wallace & Frank Lincoln and defeat them when Perez hits a nasty spinning heel kick! Kevin Von Erich defeated Hank Herman Dino Bravo defeated Kyle Strand Tugboat Thomas defeated Mark Flynn

Wayne's World is about to be unleashed on the UWF. I will be honest - if Shamrock was there in the draft - he and his mullet were coming to me no matter what. Either way - he is where he belongs and a place where I think he'll flourish.
-
Alright - we got Arn, Flair, and Spivey... big time group of horsemen. Luger, Sting, Dusy and others as opposition. I still think there is more to Luger than meets the eye but time will be the one to tell us his whole angle. I am very excited about the team of Dibiase and Williams in this incarnation of the WCW and what both men can do. Obviously, Dibiase had something else going on IRL 1988 but this is a good move for him and they make perhaps one of the best teams in the world.
-
Fuckin BattleKat! Awesome influx of new talent coming into the fold and people making their way up the card. Nikita, Larry, Kerry... Sarge... Orndorff.... AWA is now looking like a place that could be anyone's for the taking!
-
Speechless on IPW going away... looking forward to the next project that you hopefully have planned. I did like this promotion and how it fit in our world. Love the creative activities and work you've put in here.
-
@LastStopTour Is Danny Davis (To retire after 1989) - Dangerous Danny Davis the Referee/Wrestler? @kevinmcfl Is it possible to get the rights to Earl Hebner? I got his figure finally!
-
I like this new format for WCW and you're getting right in there with the stories. Obviously, Flair and Dusty captaining some big crews is going to be the biggest story right now but the rise of Sting and Luger in 1988 is going to be the true tell-tale sign of what is to come. Lots of big names involved here but I am interested to see how Dibiase and Williams fare... I think they'll do well. Butch Reed is a power house and someone to always have on the back of your mind. Spivey is US Champ and showing why he may be one of the baddest men on the planet. Got me hooked!

NEWS OUT OF THE WWF It has been a couple of weeks since the new production crew for the WWF came into the fold and many changes have been made. The first being the talent roster. Big names like Roddy Piper, Terry Funk, Paul Orndorff, Sting, and others have been let go of their contracts while new faces like the Rockers, Twin Towers, and Great Muta have been signed. There seems to be some chicanery with the fact that this production crew left WCW and ended up with some of these top names coming along to the WWF. The interesting piece is how these talents fit into the new WWF. For instance, the Rockers and Twin Towers just main-evented a WCW pay-per-view inside a steel cage for the tag titles... in the WWF... they have been pushed as newcomers. Does the WWF believe in these talents or was this a way to just bring some buddies along? There is a lot of hype around Muta and Shawn Michaels as two future stars for the WWF while the One Man Gang and Big Bossman are two guys who may just end up in the main event scene sooner than later. Some other names including the Honky Tonk Man, Hercules, Terry Taylor, and Mike Rotundo also signed on with the WWF and will hopefully be on screen soon and in different roles. The WWF seemed to be focused on filling that mid-card with some of these guys on the cusp of super stardom if utilized properly. Brother Love made his debut in the WWF over the last two weeks. The ever-present- talk segment - for the WWF is the Brother Love show now. Expect this to push angles with a heavy heel focus. No word on who Brother Love's special guest for SummerSlam is going to be though? Expect SummerSlam to be a passing-of-the-guard event. Many feel this will be the last of the old WWF Generation and a New Era will be beginning from this event. Some of the stalwarts of the WWF should look to stay in place with Hogan at the top of the heap and the newly turned Demolition being top tag team. One guy to keep an eye out for though is Rick Martel. The fans have taken to Martel as IC champion and he's had a lot of good defenses thus far. His match with Tito Santana at SummerSlam will be a make or break moment for him as the light of MSG are brighter than any other and there's definitely a spotlight on him. Speaking of the spotlight, it is hard not to notice Andre the Giant and how his role has changed over the years in the WWF. Andre has noted that his career is on the back end and would like to retire with peace and keep working with the boys. That seems to be true with the partnering of Jimmy Snuka. These two make a very fun and formidable team. Andre's ability to go one on one just doesn't seem to be there anymore so look for him to meld into this role and the WWF to use ever bit of star power he has left over the next couple of years. For those of you paying attention... we want your feedback. The WWF sent out a special survey to individuals over the last couple of weeks as it pertains to the Survivor Series which will take place on Thanksgiving Night from the Meadowlands in New Jersey. The WWF wanted to know if people would like to see a night full of 5 on 5 survivor matches, 4 on 4 survivor matches, 5 on 5 survivors with the 10 tag team survivor, or a 4 on 4 survivors with an 8 team survivor series match. Right now the WWF is planning on the 5 on 5s... but is toying with the idea of co-captains and then have the tag teams split into the matches rather than in a big 10 team tag match. This would be to primarily push the storylines heading into the show rather than making it a one off with all the talent on the card. Let us know what you think? One last bit of information that has been circling around WWF headquarters is the formatting of the television shows. WWF would like to know if you notice the difference between the two shows Prime time and Superstars when it comes to the formatting. There is also talk of changing Superstars to more of an episodic television broadcast from arenas in which Jesse and Vince are at ringside and host interviews with the talents. This would still be a taped show but allow for some more on the spot moments and an episodic feel rather than the taped matches over and over. What do you think?

This is a nice pick... pun intended.

Bash at the Beach is a helluva show... NWA is really staying with their product through all the changes in the world of wrestling around them. I have always been a fan of the tornado tags... good to see Luke and Butch doing well. US tag titles... two young teams... Chip and Champion were a guilty pleasure of mine in 1991. The Road Warriors... What else to say about a true generational tag team. They have momentum and pull and use both here. More to come with them which is great. I like the idea of the Bunkhouse Gang Fight. IT seems like a dustyish thing that the NWA would try to pull off. Almost like that bar brawl with the APA. JYD with a dusty finish... a great tease... what could come of this? Starrcade is also getting an early start... can't go wrong with that.
-
It is a lot of figures and I have a spot in my garage for them... but space is always limited. Got back into it about a year ago and have enjoyed it... love making customs... I have pretty much any figure I could imagine wanting at this point... now I am only trying to utilize people in my shows whom I have a figure of or have made a figure of. I've seen some guys do a lot more elaborate set ups than mine... but I am still having fun with it.

Gorilla and Bobby are back putting over the Twin Towers as the biggest and baddest team in the history of the WWF. We’ll see how this US Tag Title Tournament plays out… Gorilla questions why Heenan doesn’t have a tag team in the running but he notes that Bundy and Studd are going to finish off Andre and Snuka first then get the titles! King Kong Bundy is currently on a special training retreat… he is bulking up and he is preparing to take on Andre the Giant. Heenan has paid a lot of money for him to take part in this and he plans on unveiling Bundy as the new 8th Wonder of the World! Gorilla can’t believe it… but he says no matter what… Snuka and Andre will reign supreme… let’s head to the ring for our showcase matchup. The Rockers vs The Conquistadors have a good contest here for the fans and the Rockers are getting familiar with the WWF crowd here. We see them use double teaming and quick tags to keep control. I really like the direction things are going here. NWA continues to weather the ever changing world around it. 1988 Starrcade is going to be a pivotal event for the NWA. We'll see who ends up on top and who will bring the heat coming in 1989. Road Warriors and Tully are obvious picks. We'll see who else can rise up

They pump up the night of action here on Superstars… the fastest hour of wrestling in the world. Tonight we’ll see… the debut of the Great Muta! We’ll see Big John Studd, along with ST Jones, plus Mr. Fuji’s tag team… the Powers of Pain. Also, Bobby Heenan introduces his newest family member… Hercules! Let’s head to the ring right now for our opening match! Kevin Von Erich defeated Ryan Skiles via the claw! During the match, Vince and Jesse put over Kevin’s success in 1988 and how he has got gold on his mind for the second half of the year. Kevin has stated that he will face anyone… anytime… and he looks forward to leaving it all out in the ring. Our next contest features Mr. Fuji’s new team… The Powers of Pain. The Warlord and Barbarian look like monsters here and pay a good compliment to the WWF Tag Team Champions, Demolition. The POP beat the hell out of two jobbers. During the contest, Vince and Jesse argue about POP and if they are stronger than Demolition. Jesse thinks the titles could be in trouble at the Summerslam while Vince says that he thinks Demolition will bring the fight and walk out with the gold. Big John Studd comes out with Bobby Heenan and looks strong tonight. We hear about his big tag team encounter as he teams up with King Kong Bundy to take on Andre the Giant and Jimmy Snuka at Summerslam. Gene Okerlund for Update, we’ll be right back! Soul Train Jones (Virgil) comes out to a nice ovation. Vince and Jesse argue whether or not Soul Train ST Jones is related to SD Special Delivery Jones… maybe? ST looks good in the ring and he’s built well. Vince puts over his fun friendship with Hillbilly Jim and how not only their lifestyles and music may clash they find a way to be successful together. ST Jones finishes Sam Knox with a top rope dropkick that ignites the crowd. Bobby Heenan then introduces his newest family members… Hercules! Hercules looks like a monster and he comes down with Heenan and just beats the living shit out of Tim Royal. Vince and Jesse talk about Hercules and the Family growing… with Rude…. Bundy… Studd… Hercules it could be the most fierce family Heenan has ever had and Jesse says it could still be growing! Hercules gets the submission thanks to a torture rack! The Great Muta makes a special entrance to the ring. He is shrouded in mystery and takes off his mask to reveal his red paint and then he spits the myst in the air. The crowd isn’t sure what they’re seeing here… Muta handles Lonny Loggins with little to no problem at all. He shows off some big moves… the lighting elbow drop… the handspring back elbow… then he is able to set him up for the big MOONSAULT off the top rope for the 3-count! Muta has his eyes on the crowd… they aren’t sure about this guy but they’ve never seen anything like him. Our final segment features the Barber, Brutus Beefcake in singles action against Conquistador 2. Jesse loves that Brutus won’t be cutting any hair tonight since the Conquistador wears a mask. Vince say he could rip that mask off and show everyone who it is and then cut his hair. Jesse says that Brutus is going to get himself in trouble with all these shenanigans. The sleeper hold spells the end and here comes Conquistador 1 and Brutus retreats and gets the sheers to clear the ring. Vince and Jesse put him over in a big way as they run down what we’ll see next week!

WWF will sign Konnan and Sabu
-
Do you think PRIDE was worked? I mean... there had to be some legitimacy but I feel like a lot of that was behind the curtain.
-
AWA comes back with a bang. With some of the names from trades and the draft coming in, AWA is due for a shakeup and it might just be what they need to keep things fresh but also create some new opponents for Nikita. Poffo is a master of mindgames and a good worker but I don't know if he will be able to stand up to the Russian Nightmare. Every title match has a reason which means people will tune in. Good stuff.
-
I always say it but it's true - I love the feel you have here. Some pieces may come into play that I am more aware of but right now the House of Humperdink has me signed up. I always felt he was a good regional guy as a manager but his appeal wasn't on a national level every time he tried. You've got it here though.
-
Great work on the backstory which helps some like me that have no clue about any of these guys. Makes me wonder if a shoot fighting US promotion could do something with guys like Vader, Shamrock, Blackman, and others.
-
I will drop... you've got 14 people held... that will be okay to disperse between now and December. Have fun fellas!
