Simple, easy, fun, and chaotic. Twin States Wrestling has all the good feels. That Cage Match main event would set the standard for many to try and follow but come up short without question. Always good to set the pace of the promotion with the Armstrongs coming out strong.
-
The wonderful women of wrestling continue to impress. Richter continues to be a strong champion. I liked that six-woman tag too. I think Medusa may have some tough competition in the coming weeks and it may not even come from the RED

Windy City places The Nasty Boys and Dan Spivey on the block.

I will just say it now... this roster is going to have some turnover... I have a thousand ideas for this crew and I am going to have to take some time to get it figured out.

You know what happened in real life… so let’s take a look at another reality… What happened if… October 1988… On the verge of bankruptcy… Jim Crockett Promotions made a deal with multiple benefactors that led to Crockett not only leaving the NWA but also leaving Turner Broadcasting and moving out on its own. Crockett and Head Booker Dust Rhodes are unable to sign major talents Sting, Hawk & Animal the Road Warriors, Jim Cornette, & The Midnight Express. Additionally, Tully Blanchard left the company after a pay dispute from the 1987 Starrcade. In their exit… Rhodes and Crockett made a couple of monumental signings… which helped secure even more funds… First off was former WWF Champion, Randy Macho Man Savage. Savage has been hindered with an injured elbow but hopes to return to action soon. Also from the WWF… The One Man Gang signed with the tag team of Demolition. Demolition was picking up major momentum as the WWF tag team champions but with the influx of tag teams and the debut of the Road Warriors, the writing was on the wall for Demolition and they took their talents elsewhere. Another big tag team of Bret Hart and Jim Neidhart made the swap after their contracts expired and they wanted a different work schedule. Jimmy Hart negotiated for stars Honkytonk Man, Dino Bravo, and Greg Valentine to come to JCP after Jimmy got a special deal to make all the music for the company. The final piece of the puzzle was Andre the Giant! Andre, at the tail end of his career, has still wanted to be involved in the ring. His size is getting the best of him and the JCP schedule may prove to be a benefit. Bobby Heenan signed an exclusive deal with Crockett but no word on if he will be in the booth or as a manager. From the AWA… Curt Hennig signed with JCP after flirting with a run in the WWF. Along with Hennig, the Rockers, Marty Jannetty and Shawn Michaels made the move to help heighten the tag team division. Some newcomers to JCP… youngsters Sid Vicious and the Great Muta are looking to make a splash in the coming months heading into 1989. These new names join a veteran group of talent. Another youngster made his debut late in the Summer… Scott Steiner joined his brother Rick after the Varsity Club attacked him. Scott has done some work in the midwest but now called JCP his home and with his brother Rick, the Steiner Brothers appear to be a force in JCP! Returning to JCP… Big Bubba who now goes by the Big Bossman. He has been serving hard time throughout the summer and now comes with a vengeance. Many think he has got Dusty Rhodes back in his sights. Butch Reed has also returned to JCP and he has been teaming with Ron Simmons as of late. They have had a mysterious Woman with them at ringside… these two monsters spell doom for anyone in their path. Staying with JCP… tag teams including The Varsity Club, Steve Williams and Mike Rotundo signed with JCP and appear to be the top team in the promotion. Former United States Champion Lex Luger signed and may have claimed him to be the next and perhaps FIRST world champion in JCP. As noted earlier, Rick Steiner has signed on to stay with his brother Scott. Freebirds, Michael Hayes and Terry Gordy have resigned. Head Booker Dusty Rhodes continues to figure himself into the wrestling plans. Lastly, the crown jewel perhaps, Ric Flair. Flair resigned with JCP after turning down lucrative deals from the WWF, NWA, & newly founded WCW. Flair was able to help JCP secure television throughout the country and even get PPV markets. Flair will be joined by his Horsemen counterparts Arn Anderson and Barry windham. No word on who the 4th Horseman will be if they continue down that path. On the Horizon… JCP looks to run the following schedule… October - Chi Town Rumble. November - BattleBowl December - Saturday Night Showdown I January - WrestleWar February - Saturday Night Showdown II March - Bunkhouse Stampede April - Saturday Night Showdown III May -,Capital Combat June - Saturday Night Showdown IV July - Great American Bash August - Beach Blast September - Saturday Night Showdown V The following titles will be introduced in the coming weeks… JCP World Heavyweight Championship JCP United States Championship JCP North American Championship JCP Television Championship JCP World Tag Team Championship JCP US Tag Team Championship Television shows will be held in various arenas throughout the cities in the country including Charlotte - North Carolina, Roanoke - West Virginia, Washington DC, St. Louis - Missouri, Asheville - North Carolina, Baltimore - Maryland, Richmond - Virginia, Norfolk - Virginia, and Charleston - West Virginia. Look for JCP: Main Event to debut on CMT every Saturday from 7:05 - 8:35pm Eastern along with JCP: Power Hour on CBS affiliates Sunday mornings at 9:05am - 10:05am.

Quick write ups for tv this week… Windy City Wrestling #11 A couple of good squash wins for the rock N Roll Express, Koko Ware, and Kamala. We also saw a great showdown between The Rockers and Renegade Warriors that ended with the Rockers cheating and getting the victory. In the main event, Randy Savage accompanied to the ring by Jim Garvin lost to Scott Hall when Garvin grabbed SAVAGE’S foot on “accident” Savage was rolled up and then exploded at Garvin but Garvin slow played everything… In other news, the Untouchables set the stage for the Quad City Showdown and said that Bam Bam and company won’t make it out alive. The Rock N Roll said they want another match with the Rockers and they will do anything to get their match. Windy City Wrestling #12 Another easy going show with Bam Bam getting some good momentum with a big win. We also saw the Road Warriors defeated Jaggers and Dutch in a glorified squash. The main event was Savage and Garvin vs Hall and Spivey. This is when it happened. Elizabeth was minding her own business outside the ring and then Garvin ran into her. He then started screaming at her at ringside and then Savage jumped through the ropes and attacked him! The crowd went wild as these two brawled all over the ringside area. Hall and Spivey won the fall but the fans won as they finally got to see Savage take it to Garvin!

September 23 -Champaign, Illinois - Civic Center Renegade Warriors vs The Kansas Jayhawks The Champion’s Carnival opens with a fun tag team match with these four who have been going head to head over the last couple of weeks The renegades are really green and we see Dutch and Jaggers carry them along the way This one is a good 9-minute affair… nothing major The finish sees Jaggers and Dutch go for a double piledriver but Chris Youngblood leaps off the top rope and nails Jaggers for a sunset flip and quick 3-count! The Renegade Warriors come away with a win and the crowd is going in their direction Crazy Scott Casey & Wild Bill Irwin vs The Nasty Boys Crazy Casey and Wild Bill come out and they are ready for a fight The Nasty Boys are there and by golly we see them go head to head right in the aisleway The referee lets it go and the fans are loving it These guys start throwing some bombs and then we see a huge cloithesline from Irwin on Sags and they are in the crowd Knobbs comes out of nowhere with a chair and just DESTROYS Irwin’s back! The referee is calling for the bell but it isn’t working Scott Casey grabs a cord to choke Knobbs' neck All hell has broken loose... Lanny Poffo vs Kamala w/ Akbar We saw Poffo almost get destroyed by Jim Garvin last week on television… tonight… well it is worse Kamala completely tears this guy apart We see the Ugandan Giant is in complete control and we get back to the old roots of Kamala The press slam over the top rope and Poffo nails the guardrail! Akbar turns him around and here comes Kamala with a big SPLASH! The referee makes the count and gets to 10 and Kamala is the winner as he is inside the ring slapping his belly! Patriot & Firebreaker vs Badd Company Diamond and Tanaka look like bonafide stars here with their presentation Patriot and Firebreaker continue to have a great look and have some decent in ring work This one goes about 8-minutes and we see both teams shine a bit The finish is pretty slick when we see Diamond pick up Firebreaker like a spinebuster and then Tanaka comes off with a cross body A nasty slam finishes things for a set up for a 3-count Badd Company look good… or badd… depending on how you see things! The Rock n Roll Express vs The Rockers Here we go… these four guys come out and the boots are laced up tight From the opening bell we can see tempers flare and no punches are being pulled These guys go almost 25-minutes and everyone gets a shot to shine A pair of head scissor takedowns from the Rock N Roll get the crowd going Michaels hits a crossbody onto the three others outside the ring and the crowd explodes Everyone is dripping sweat as they make their last run Ricky and Robert hit the ropes for a double dropkick but Michaels is outside the ring and pulls the ropes down and Robert goes flying Gibson gets up and Michaels with a superkick that knocks him over the guardrail to the crowd Morton then goes on the apron and runs and leaps with a dropkick on Michaels and he flies into the guardrail! Jannetty goes up to the top and then hits a big double ax handle smash! The referee has counted to 10 and it is a double count out These guys are being separated by the referees and agents and this one gave us a taste of what we could see… SPECIAL SIX-MAN CHALLENGE Bam Bam Bigelow & The Road Warriors vs The Ninjas (Green, Red, & Yellow) A big time showcase for Bigelow and the Road Warriors The Ninjas just bump around and take some nasty clotheslines This one is only about 4-minutes and it is the Doomsday Device on Green Ninja that spells the end. Bigelow and the Road Warriors celebrate… they have got the Untouchables in their sights! CHICAGO STREET FIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP The Barbarian vs Scott Hall First of our title matches gets a little crazy out there Hall isn’t quite the brawler but he brings a good fight to Barb Paul Jones isn’t helping matters out here as he continues to try and take shots at Hall when he is turning his back We then see some weapons come into play as a steel chair and trash can make their way into the ring Both men are able to get in some offense but the finish is pretty fun Hall gets some momentum and then he grabs Barb to put him up on top of the ropes… he is going for a fallaway slam off the middle rope but here comes Paul Jones and he just CRACKS Hall with his cane and breaks it over his back Hall falls back into the ring and this gives Barb a chance to hit a huge diving headbutt for the finish and 3-count. The Untouchables get away with one here… thanks to Jones. GATEWAY CHAMPIONSHIP Butch Reed vs Chris Adams A big fight feel here for Adams and Reed who go 20-minutes and hammer the hell out of each other from start to finish Reed’s power is on display but the speed and athleticism of Adams keeps him in the game Reed works on the knee and shoulder of Adams who is selling like there is no tomorrow Adams fights back with a couple of big shoulder strikes and euro uppercuts that knock the big Kansas City native back The big finish sees Reed go up top for a shoulder block but Adams ducks out of the way Adams then waits for a moment and SUPERKICK! He goes for the cover but Paul Jones gets on the apron… Adams looks at him and then SUPERKICKS Jones off the apron onto the floor Reed then comes and CLIPS the knee of Adams! Adams is writhing in pain… Reed turns him around for a nasty shoulder breaker and then a 3-count! Reed puts the Untouchables up 2-0 in title matches with two more to go! WINDY CITY TAG CHAMPIONSHIP Randy Savage & Jim Garvin vs Orton & Slater Here we go with what many thought would be match of the night These four go 23-minutes and the heat is definitely not waning… is it Savage who is getting some love from the crowd! Garvin is booed mercilessly Slater and Orton almost seem like an afterthought here with all the other happenings These guys put on a clinic though inside the ring with great work and good tagging The finish is pretty hot with Savage and Garvin almost looking to put the champs away before Orton and Slater go low on Savage We then see Garvin push Savage into the champs before falling out of the ring This sets up the spike piledriver and then 3-count on Savage and the crowd is shocked Garvin is screaming at Elizabeth outside the ring! The champs walk to the back… 3-0 for the Untouchables… Savage is slow to get up but you can see him look at Garvin who is letting Liz have it! Savage isn’t able to make it to the save before Garvin walks to the back ashamed of what has gone on. WINDY CITY CHAMPIONSHIP Harley Race vs Dan Spivey Main event… big time feel… title on the line… here we go! At one point… it seemed as though Spivey was going to be the man here in Windy City. He earned the big shot here and now it is time to see if he can pay it off Race is in the twilight of his career… but he has that little piece that keeps the match going Race is slow and methodical… he is calculated… and he makes everything count Spivey fights with a fire that is unmatched here in Windy City and it comes down to some real big time blows Both men wear each other down and some big spots line up a superb finish As time is wearing down… we see the Untouchables in the entryway coming towards the ring… but they aren’t alone as here comes Bam Bam, the Road Warriors, and Scott Hall and there’s a brawl in the aisle Officials and agents get them in the back just in time for Race to lock in a figure four leg lock The crowd is going wild here as Spivey is inching closer and closer to the ropes Spivey is able to turn the figure four over and he has broken free He limps up as Race comes at him but Spivey hits a huge BOOT right to the mush! Race is about to fall over when Spivey grabs him and then sets him up for a helicopter throw but that bastard Paul Jones pulls Race’s leg down He’s dropped something in the ring as Spivey grabs Jones and knocks him down and out Spivey limps back to Race who hits him with an uppercut that knocks Spivey senseless! Spivey is out on his feet as Race hits a belly to belly and then the pinfall! {The fans can’t believe it! Race has kept the title. The Untouchables run down to hoist him up only for them to turn around and Bam Bam Bigelow off the top rope with a clothesline! The crowd is going wild now! The Road Warriors and Scott Hall come out and the brawl is on as all 10-men are involved! The Untouchables escape with the titles before Bam Bam gets on the microphone to let them know that in two weeks… in Davenport, Iowa… They are coming to put an end to the Untouchables once and for all in a 10-man tag!

I was hoping that Muta spit the myst on the belt after he nailed Luger. This is going to be a great feud to watch unfold. -
Its not a big deal... he has picked up his roots and gone up to Chicago to test his skills. I'd love to find another figure head and he could come and be with you... just don't know of too many around this time.

I don't think you can go wrong with Dibiase as your Ace heel in 1987. This was the time he was coming into the WWF and was instantly on top. I like the dynamics with Vader, Murdoch, Muta, and Luger. I am pulling for Muta to come out on top but that's anyone's opportunity. Also... Steiner and the 450 were a huge highlight. I kind of put it with the Vader or Bam Bam Moonsault... doesn't need to be all the time but when it happens it's special. -
I loathe Johnny V with the passion of Jimmy Valiant... well... maybe something there... but he brings the heat. I wasn't aware of Pedicino coming down from Chicago to help out with things. He's a busy guy with the Windy City schedule. I also love Ron Bass. I felt like I never got a full look of him but the more I find the more I appreciate.

So much movement in the AWA. The War Games definitely set the bar pretty high for the gang warfare in Dawn of War. The key for these types of matches are to give shine to everyone ad you did good stuff there. Tommy Rich gets what's coming to him and rightfully so. His run on top has been a standard (once again) for us to try and match. Don't sleep on Bad News being the man either... he is without question the toughest guy on the block and he can go with anyone in the ring.
-
The NWA continues to do work. I am a fan of Hansen and the US title and how he will be next in line to go against Flair. Rhodes and Flair vs the Andersons... what a match that could be... and then the turn of Flair rejoining... lol... and Buddy Landel as the 4th... I am booking this myself in my head. I want to see the Manny and Hansen blow up in a one on one and they could tear the entire arena apart.
-
I was excited to see the standings. My girl Lisa is on top for good reason. I hope 88 is great for her.

You went right to the well with Tully and Wahoo... it will never dry with these two and their hatred for one another. JYD with a patriotic win... always a great piece to a wrestling puzzle. Then we've got some big time tough man brawls with Williams and Nikita along with Rick and Gordy. I will take those match ups any day of the week. Give me the hoss' and brawls all the time.

Windy City Pro Wrestling Presents: Danger Zone Live from the Civic Center in Des Moines, Iowa Craig DeGeorge & Billy Robinson are ringside calling the action Mike McGuirk is in the ring announcing Let’s go to the ring! Koko B Ware vs The Conquistador Good opener Koko is getting hot again here and he’s got the fans behind him He works the fans while giving the Conquistador more than he can handle The finish sees Koko come off the top with a huge dropkick to the mush and then the 3-count! The Renegade Warriors vs The Kansas Jayhawks The first time meeting of these two There is definitely a racist vibe here with the Jayhawks and the Renegade Warriors Dutch and Jaggers are great heels and work the fans so that the Warriors can build back up and get some shine We see a lot of quick tags and cheap shots from the Jayhawks The Warriors get a big hope spot and here comes Mark like a house of fire The referee missed the tag though and now Dutch with something in his hand just WHALES Chris in the mouth Jaggers covers him for the 3-count and the Jayhawks win a controversial one tonight. Robert Gibson w/ Ricky Morton vs Marty Jannetty w/ Shawn Michaels It can be seen that both Morton and Michaels are carrying some injuries Inside the ring we see Gibson and Jannetty go for 16-solid minutes of great work We see Ricky and Shawn both get involved here and there It then blows up when Ricky comes over to stop Shawn from hitting Gibson but now they are going at it The crowd is rocking… pun intended as we see Jannetty come out of the ring and join the fight Robert Gibson and Jannetty start throwing some bombs and then go back inside The referee tries to break them up and gets in Gibson’s way only for Jannetty to come out of nowhere with a big SUPERKICK and then the 3-count! The Rockers found the upper hand and have put another W in the win column. The Rock N Roll certainly won’t wait around for something like this to happen again. Jake Roberts vs Jim Garvin w Precious Big time contest here with two of the premiere athletes in Windy City Jake Roberts is without question one of the hottest rising stars right now. Garvin is an oozing hot heel and Precious is making him all the better These guys go another 15-minutes and work the fans Jake sells like his life is gasping for each individual breath Garvin is a low down dirty scoundrel who pokes the eyes and takes the shortcuts We get into the final moments when we see Garvin going for the hot shot suplex but Jake jumps over the back and then goes into a frenzy A couple of huge short left jabs and then a short arm clothesline! Jake runs for a big knee lift and then he makes the sign for the DDT! Now Precious is up on the apron… what in the hell is she doing? The referee has turned his attention… Garvin drops down and LOW BLOW! Jake is hurt and now Garvin picks him up for the HOT SHOT SUPLEX and the 3-count! Garvin is working the fans and spraying the perfume all over the place. Jake is slow to his feet… Garvin continues to strut… Wait a moment… Jake is up… he turns Garvin around and DDT! Jake got the last laugh and Garvin is laid out cold in the middle of the ring! We then see Steadfast Scott Casey out with Joe Pedicino…Joe is putting over how Casey has been on a huge rise as of late. The problem is that it brings out Khan and Kabuki. Casey rips his shirt off and is ready to throw down but Kabuki and Khan attack. They are wearing down Scott here until out of the back comes Wild Bill Irwin! He has got his bullrope and he is whipping and slapping Kabuki and Khan out of the way! Irwin and Casey wear these two guys out and send them packing! The crowd pops… Irwin and Casey shake hands… could this be something big on the horizon? Chris Adams vs Randy Savage w/ Elizabeth This one one that a lot of people have been waiting for We get some nice entrances from both men Elizabeth looks amazing at ringside… she has a sense of grace that Precious doesn’t seem to have These two have a knock down 25-minute brawl with a little bit of everything We get some Macho Man Memphis Stalling… We get some brawling outside the ring and even into the fans We get to see Chris Adams fly around the ring with some huge strikes and moves to get the fans to their feet We see Randy Savage hit a huge double ax-handle smash from the top rope on Adams who is outside the ring In the waning moments… Savage ones again goes for the double ax handle inside the ring off the top rope but Chris Adams catches him with a superkick that knocks him smack dab out! The crowd explodes for the spot and Adams with the cover for the 1…..2…..3! Adams has defeated Savage but something tells me this one may be far from over The spot at the end brought the fans to their feet and Adams walks away with a lot of momentum while Savage walks away with his Elizabeth and some respect from the fans! Mike McGuirk comes out to announce that Dick Murdoch will not be here to challenge Butch Reed tonight. This brings out Reed and Jones who work the fans and talk about Tricky Dick running off into the sunset to stop from getting his ass whooped. Reed then says he is going to challenge anyone… from anywhere… right here… right now. We then hear a stir coming… wait a moment… from the aisleway… Joe Pedicino announces… here comes Mr. Wrestling II! Butch Reed is yelling no no no…. He and Wrestling II have a long history dating back to the Mid South days… GATEWAY CHAMPIONSHIP Mr. Wrestling II vs Butch Reed Wrestling II jumps right in the ring and nails some big rights and lefts and he has got Reed rocking already! Paul Jones tries to get involved but Wrestling II nails him with the patented running knee lift and he goes flying! Reed gets back in the ring and he’s trying to get things going but the surprise of Wrestling II was more than he could handle right now The bell has rung and we’re underway with this one II continues to be on the offensive but then things slow down when Reed hits a nasty headbutt into the groin of II. Reed slows down the action with some big time power and Wrestling II is now looking (old) and outmatched This one is only about 8-minutes long but gives the fans a little pep in their step The finish is a fun one with Reed going for the shoulder block but Wrestling II diving out of the way II comes with some nice rights and lefts and backs up Reed into the corner before nailing a nice hip toss! Wrestling II is coming for the running knee lift but Reed comes out of nowhere with a lariat that takes Wrestling II’s head off. A sickening thud as Wrestling II hits the ground… Reed covers for the 3-count. I hope that Pedicino paid him well because Wrestling II does not look healthy getting out of the ring right now. MAIN EVENT Bam Bam Bigelow, Dan Spivey, & Scott Hall vs Harley Race, Bob Orton, & Dick Slater BIG TIME MAIN EVENT It is the rising stars of Windy City taking on the Grizzled Veterans who have something left in the tank Age vs Experience here… and the experience is what tells the tale. Slater doesn’t seem to think he’s older than the guys on the other side of the ring and he lays in some huge shots Spivey and Hall seem to be working on the same page and hit some really nice tag team moves Harley Race sets the stage for his psychological work and does everything can to slow things down Then we see Bam Bam come in… like a wrecking ball on fire… the crowd is going absolutely nuts for him right now Bammer with some huge shots and now he is rocking on everyone The Young Guns come with some big shots and now we’ve got all six-men in there and they splatter outside the ring In the shadows… we see Barbarian and Reed coming out Reed and Barb are able to take Spivey and Hall out of the contest while it is 3 on 1 on Bam Bam It is 5 on 3 and nothing to be done but Bam Bam doesn’t seem to mind… he is bringing the fight every second The wild finish sees Spivey and Hall break free from Reed and Barb They jump back in the ring and get control of Race and Slater only for Orton to take on Bam Bam Orton looks like he is going to finish Bam Bam off with a superplex but Bam Bam headbutts him off the ropes and he goes down. Bigelow looks out to the crowd… oh my… MOONSAULT OFF THE TOP ROPE! 1….2….3!!! Bigelow, Spivey, and Hall all come away with a HUGE victory here tonight1 The crowd is going absolutely wild… Bigelow has made his claim…. He’s coming for the Windy City title and there is nothing Race can do about it!
