  1. I was so pissed when they changed the title back the next night especially as Bound for glory was meant to be their wrestlemania. And you may be referring to the gauntlet for the gold (i think thats what tna used to call that match) which he won before the jarrett match.
  2. Stop watching the product ? I ask this because wwe actually did upset me so bad back in 2005-2006 . I found myself disgusted at how they continuously kept using eddie guerrero in storylines and i ended up not watching wwe again till mania 23 in 2007 (Yeah i missed the dx 2006 run) So i was wondering if any of you had a line that if your favorite company crossed it you wouldn't watch that companies product no more.

    Current WWE

Current WWE makes me sad. I watch it out of habit more than anything else now. they deliver occassionally at the "wwe network special events" but raw and smackdown most weeks is a legit chore to watch. (mondays being excessively awful)
  4. Sabu vs Taz will always be my favorite ever feud. The story was so well done former partners who split. taz comes back from a broken neck, turns heel and wants to fight sabu . in a stroke of genius for a whole year they are the never even in the same ring together and then November to remember 96 it finally happened they finally were in the ring together for a confrontation and the ecw arena marked the fuck out like it rarely did ever. Yeah the subsequent matches sucked but the story and the build was paul heyman booking at its ultimate best.
  5. I just finished watching ecw November to remember 1998. It gets criticism even from ecw fans as a poor show but i found it on the whole entertaining. Terry funks show long build into a heel turn was well done. there was very good matches (storm vs lynn dudleys vs tanaka and balls) and a main event which had a lot of action and set the stage for the mvp of ECW to finally win the big one at the next ECW ppv
  6. Randy Orton is so frustrating for me. He clearly has the skills to be one of the best of all times. But for so much of his career hes not reached his peak. As for great randy orton matches the match with cactus jack at backlash 04 was a great hardcore battle. or if you arent into hardcore wrestling he had a sleeper of a gem against kurt angle i remember i think it was vengeance 06 i cant place it specifically
  7. I was a big rhyno fan , through ecw through wwe and his run in tna had its moments. It has always disappointed me personally that wwe wouldnt give him a true push due to his lack of height as he had such an intensity to him and was a better than average power move worker and the gore was over. WWE could have made him into a low main event high midcard level act i think (probably lacking too much promo wise for a proper main event spot in wwe) . I am going to add some of his most entertaining matches and moments going forward and i will try make the best case i can for him to get some kudos around here your thoughts on him ?
  8. If memory serves me correctly didnt they do that cage match deal at the last minute due to some viral video at a basketball game. ? i think that was just trying to use the buzz from the yes chant which was at its peak around the time of that cage match
  9. I feel like slapping myself for defending him but quite a few attitude era guys have given russo credit for helping with their characters. His wcw run was a stain on wrestling but i was a massive ovw fan at the time (use to get the tapes shipped) and greg gagne killed it dead.
  10. I am dying to say russo but he played his part in the rise of wwf 1997=1999 and that era is one of the most successful in wrestling history. I loathe russo and all the damage he has done to wrestling. However i am counting this even though it was not a national company Greg Gagne and his spell as OVW booker will always be the worst for me. the man put the OVW title on the chet the jet.
  11. I still get goosebumps watching it now when terry funk pins raven to win the ecw title. the crowd reaction is one of the most emotional i have ever heard and joey styles puts the cherry on top with his in my opinion perfect announcing of the whole raven/funk match and funk winning
  12. I am not american but i can imagine this would be the wrong sort of heat to do this gimmick in america. the Americans are so patriotic and adore their armed forces. using the forces in this way to get heat would have an adverse reaction and not in a good heatseeking way in my opinion.
  13. I always remember being amazed about how knowledgeable mike tyson was on pro wrestling. he was almost mark like in his appreciation for it. you get guys like adam sandler who pop up at ppvs but i have no idea how big a fan he is
  14. This project of yours has been truly fascinating for me as a new guy to this forum. I am currently doing something similar on a much smaller scale with wwf in the 1980s.. so i would like to thank you for the time you have dedicated to this loss it has been truly compelling and informative.
  15. hes in my top 100.. hes a bit to spottacular for me. and also not the greatest at psychology you will ever see. fun to watch wrestle though.
  16. How far would Daniel Bryan have gotten ? would he have won the title at wrestlemania 30. the reason i pose this query is because till quite recently i believed he played a bigger part in his own rise to the title than others seemed to . but the effect of Brie Bella in months past getting over with it has made me revise how big a role the yes chanr played in his road to the title. WWE didnt want to push this man. WWE only pushed this man as strong as they did i now believe because the chant caught on in a massive way (way bigger than that fandango nonsense did) (i put this in microscope as it offers an insight into daniel bryans popularity vs the yes chant popularity )
  17. That was me. Umaga was awesome, but he lost to Cena and then he was back down the card once the feud was over...like an old school Hogan monster opponent. and the same sadly will happen to rusev once reigns beats him in February. Once Rusev is pinned he loses so much of his shine
  18. Vince is an old man now so of course a decline is going to happen. He has not been able to evolve to life without competition and the overall drop off in house shows and tv ratings shows this. It's not 1998 no more vince doesnt have carte blanche over his company like he did back then. hes beholden to stockholders now and the change in culture worldwide has meant he had to go pg and you will never draw more people with pg than you would by being edgy (attitude era) No one will ever make vince retire but while i am grateful for vince for making wwe the juggernaunt it is today i am glad hhh is taking more of an active role in the company and NXT gives me hope for the future of wwe it really does.
  19. Rusev is a guilty pleasure of mine . I enjoy his work he throws a mean kick and he is imo a better worker than some people give him credit for. If rusev would have been around in 1984 he could have drew bucket loads of money vs hulk hogan. that feud would have been massive
  20. Hi my name is chris i am from liverpool england i am 29 years old. Been a wrestling fan off and on 25 nearly now. ever since summerslam 1990 and i saw hulk hogan i feel in love with wrestling from that day. i had a spell away in 1997 as i got bored for a year. and again in 2005- late 2006 as i was deeply offfended by how wwe handled eddie guerrero dying. my tastes in wrestling are mainly wccw. the old ecw and of course wwe. but i have developed a keen interest in the history of the business and i have a lot of archived newsletters and the like and i have been expanding my viewing to include japan and various territories. My favorite type of wrestlers usually are the promo guys though i do respect in ring masters like bret hart and dynamite kid in his prime. finally before i bore you all my top 10 wrestlers ever 1) mick foley = the man is a genius on the stick and he more than anyone else earned the respect of pro wrestling fans worldwide 2) bret hart 3) david von erich 4) ric flair 5) hulk hogan (childhood reasons) 6) kenta kobashi 7) ecw shane douglas 8) jake roberts 9) steve austin 10) HBK
