WWE TV 08/03 - 08/09 Giannis is a future back to back MVP
2PhoneShawty replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
the random cuts to the dancers during Raw Underground was pretty funny. I'm guessing they said that new faction wasn't political because it could remind people of antifa and rioters. -
WWE TV 7/27 - 8/2 HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE KING OF KINGS

that's reasonable, just saying generally it has happened relatively recently. -

yeah and the "crowd" booing AJ so loud for winning a match clean was stupid in of itself. -
Good point, I'd just think someone already hated by the general public would be more effective.
-
I think it's a good idea, but it has to be a comedy guy, so Sasha works . But I doubt WWE would ever do it. If they could get someone like Kanye West or Justin Bieber or someone like that it'd be a lot better though, but that'd never happen since those guys take themselves seriously.

The general consensus was pretty much that we liked the match. but we agreed with the flaws that Goodear pointed out.

Okay this is going to start in a few minutes..

Cool, hope to see you there.

Anyone have any questions for Bruce Tharpe?

I'd be interested in whether or not the TV deal with AXS will affect NWA Classics in some way. -
I can see why there'd be confusion, here's the link to the match: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FdukmRFkiZE

Tonight we're going to start our group viewing project, at 8 PM EST. We will be using http://taima.tv/r/PWOGroup a video synching service where you are able to make your own rooms. We will be viewing a set of 5 matches, and watching one in a day. We will be opening this project with a bang, as we will be watching two time NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Jack Brisco go up against Japanese legend, Jumbo Tsuruta, who is also a nominee to watch, as he placed #1 on the Smarkchoices 2006 poll. This match took place on January 30 1974, Brisco's set will begin today, and we will be using a list made by JerryvonKramer from the top 5 matches to watch list, however if you have suggestions for the next nominee, and the 5 matches that best represent them, feel free to do so, and I hope to see you in the chat tonight.

There's actually a service that automatically syncs it up called Taima.Tv. It also supports more than Youtube I believe. And they also have a built in text chat thing next to the video.

Often forgotten periods of a wrestlers career...

Rikishi as the Sultan, he also had Bob Backlund and Iron Sheik managing him under this gimmick. -
Yeah, I think that'd be for the best, people might get burned out watching 5 matches of one person very quickly, but if there's more interest I'd be willing to set it up, as well as people giving their own suggestions for five matches of someone.
-
That's great, if more people respond and would be willing to be on board, it'd be great. I don't know if it should be done every day, or once a week though? what do you think?
-
I was wondering if any of you would be interested in a group viewing of a nominees matches. Like we would have a block of five suggested matches of a certain wrestler, and then the next day or other day we could move onto another worker and watch five matches of there's. I know the perfect service for it, and I think group watching these matches would help people get through them, and give more of a sense of community? There is a service called Taima.Tv that would be perfect for this. And I'm wondering if there's enough interest where we could actually do it.

Hero wouldn't have been a star in any period. The gut is awful but if he had something about him he'd get away with it. Instead Hero looks like a guy that what would look at the floor and cross the street if a group of teenagers were walking nearby. Old school guys like Windham, Murdoch, Rhodes etc carried themselves like stars. A charismatic dynamo, a gruff old cowboy and the leery geezer at the end of the bar you wouldn't want to mess with. Ever since the beginning Hero's had the worst look of any major(ish) star I can think of. I think you're being really hard on him. He showed tons of charisma in his days in NXT.

Great wrestling promos from outside wrestling
2PhoneShawty replied to S.L.L.'s topic in Pro Wrestling Mostly
GhostFace Killa from Wu Tang cut a promo on Action Bronson, it was pretty entertaining to me. -
I think he has the best chance of the 2000s indy guys who aren't Danielson, Punk, Joe. He was good on the indies before he got to NXT, was one of the best workers in NXT when he was around, and has some pretty impressive tag work with Claudio, and even his team with Cabana hasn't been bad in NOAH.
-
For sure he has more of a chance than Brian Kendrick, with his early ROH work and the cruiserweight division. But I don't know that he was that impressive in ring in those few years, to really have him on that list. Outside of that, he hasn't been very impressive with his post-wwe work. I remember the tag title run being good, and maybe he has more of a chance on the tag team list.
-
Holy shit has this guy improved, and I absolutely love his work. He's better at selling than anyone in WWE, and one of the best in the business(at selling of course), but he has only been good since 2014, but I don't see how anyone who's debuted in the 2010s on a major promotion is going to make my list. I can't think of a single one that even has a chance right now.
-
If you asked most people from the less analytic boards, like Squared Circle or Wrestling Forum, they'd probably rank him as the best worker today, but I don't know if he's even that, for a while he was not very good on the indies. He felt like one of those guys, who saw what early ROH guys were doing, and tried to emulate it, but rather than wrestling like guys like Danielson or Joe, he instead was just throwing out big moves without much thought or reason. His WWE run has been better, mostly 2012-2014. His work this year however hasn't been as good. He's surely not a top 100 guy for me, and I could see others agreeing with it.
-
This guy has been a top wrestler since at most 2013, and I absolutely love his work, but I don't think his career has had enough time for him to really be on a top 100 list with this many nominees. I'd be interested in hearing someone's opinion who watches ROH on a week by week basis though.

Lance Cade, with all due respect, wasn't that memorable, but his run as Jericho's protege had to be the least memorable run of his.
