  1. I wonder what impact the overrun makes for NXT. This was close enough that it may have been what tipped them into the victory.
  2. Meanwhile, Cody Rhodes is the smartest man in the business pulling the old Hogan trick
  3. Well it's clear that AEW is playing more of a long game, trying to build stars in Darby, MJF, Scorpio and others as time goes on. NXT to a degree lucked into this angle with the Saudi flight delay but I'm not sure if they keep running with invasion stuff post-Survivor Series. I guess they could but it will get watered down.
  4. NXT finally wins a week. 916k to 893k, although AEW still won in every demo except over 50s. Both sides can make their arguments for a good night here but the difference is that AEW just had a standard show while NXT threw the kitchen sink at it booking-wise. Is that sustainable?
  5. I meant to say during that original discussion that her filmography is actually pretty thin at least according to Wikipedia.
  6. Moxley vs Darby Allin Nick Jackson vs Fenix Private Party vs Santana and Ortiz 12 Man Dynamite Dozen Battle Royal Jericho announcement The two singles matches announced promise to be really strong. I hope they can have another well paced show like last week and develop on the big stories. Jericho also needs a new opponent. Hoping the good show last week keeps hold of viewers because NXT is teasing pretty much any main roster star to show up.
  7. Top people screams Seth to me. AEW victory in the bag! I actually do think NXT could pop a rating from this and edge out Dynamite and I'm really not looking forward to the crowing if that happens.
  8. I'd rather watch three hours of Great Khali and Jackie Gayda fucking than a Rollins and Punk feud because you just know it would involve Seth trying to do 'edgy' promos that'll be toe curling.

EDIT: Sorry, just posted the link not realising that it was already up
  10. That popped me. Bryan getting more and more perplexed by the booking while Dave just deadpans him is great audio.
  11. Kevin Nash didn't draw on top for Vince but ended up being a big deal in WCW so it depends on a lot of factors. I do think Orton jumping might have got some curiosity viewers for the first couple of weeks but he would quickly settle down into being the same boring old guy and interest would fade.
  12. You mean the Meryl Streep of wrestling?
  13. Orton vs Khan is a hotter feud than anything running on WWE TV
  14. Mate...
  15. There is such a gap in the indy scene for stars and he would get loads of bookings if he left today
  16. He implied the same about Kenny Omega a few weeks back as well
  17. That's weird. Dave randomly mentioned that Cody and MJF could do dog collar as a gimmick on WOR, which is the first I'd heard of dog collar matches in years. And now WWE are possibly actually planning one.
  18. And that's before I even saw this bollocks. Fox must be asking for a refund.
  19. If I was a woman in AEW I'd be getting hair extensions too because with Kong and Brandi's new gimmick, I wouldn't want them cutting my actual hair. Literally saw one GIF of Baron Corbin coming to the ring with the full king gimmick and immediately any interest I may have had in Smackdown is evaporated. It just looks like the lamest shit imaginable.
  20. Someone needs to tell Jim and Brian Last that their favourites from the 70s weren't actually real fighters.
  21. Those three hour shows are made to be recorded and fast forwarded through, even if the content was good. Even by the end of a good two hour weekly show like AEW I'm ready for the show to end by the time the last segment is finishing up.
  22. Was just about to post this. I think the lesson WWE will take from this is that they need to load up the Survivor Series go-home shows with NXT stars on Raw and Smackdown and main roster guys on NXT and promote it hard. I actually think that could be enough to give them a one-week win. But the main roster TV was cold this week so the lack of excitement there probably drags down NXT. Ultimately, even if NXT win a couple of weeks by loading up the shows with Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, AJ Styles, Becky Lynch etc. that is hotshot stuff that isn't sustainable. I'm impressed by AEW remaining patient, not booking in a reactive manner and playing the long game to get over new stars when they could do their own hotshots and run gimmick matches, Omega vs Cody, Moxley vs Jericho or whatever on the weekly show.
  23. Jericho vs Sky for the belt surely has to be on the cards in the next week or two.
  24. Have we even seen Sonny Kiss on TV before let alone never again?
  25. Kinda want Mox to not be doing death match shit all the time though
