  1. It's super easy to do if you're in conversation with multiple people at the same time.
  2. Idk, a couple of TV sprints, an all time bad Mania match with Edge and a phoney 'match' where they got to do reshoots and edits and shit isn't really selling him to me. Orton does so much nothing that he gets a load of praise for doing the bare minimum, which is good work if you can get it, but it's not doing much for me. It would be pretty difficult to name a WWE wrestler of the year for 2020 honestly. It's been a real low period. I guess Drew has carried himself well and generally performed when required even if people have mixed feelings on how interesting or exciting he is in the top spot.
  3. Literally my only problem with the Reigns presentation is the matches
  4. If anyone bitches about them somehow getting Dwayne to do a match, something I'll be sceptical of until I see him in the ring again, then they're not worth taking seriously
  5. Genuine question. What are all these amazing Orton matches from 2020?
  6. Just right for her to start to make the break away. I guess if WWE never goes back to doing house shows and such like before she can still wrestle on TV and do filming if she wants to. I thought the first season of Mandalorian was a decent, entertaining show but nothing that's making me rush to pick up a Disney sub to watch another season.
  7. There are ways to do it. WWE just aren't great at booking series' and making rematches interesting so I always tend to assume they're better to just save stuff. That works as an angle, though I fear that Drew is going to have to suffer through a few months with The Fiend and god knows what state he's going to be in after that ordeal.
  8. If I was them, I would've held this off and had Drew win the Rumble to challenge Roman at Mania.
  9. Those movies fucking stunk
  10. The thing with Reigns is, as has been mentioned, the brand is the more important factor than the individual in today's WWE. He was picked to go on last at Mania 4 times but you could easily argue that he wasn't the actual draw for any of those. For example, Shane vs Undertaker in the cell was clearly the draw in 2016 and Ronda's first match was clearly the draw in 2018. 2015 also saw a big Cena match and Sting's first WWE match. Just being picked to go out last doesn't mean you're the main attraction. Besides, no matter how you want to judge those matches, the guy will have the stench of failure on him for a long time due to the crowd rejection and not getting over to that John Cena level that they clearly expected.
  11. Omega being in makes perfect sense. He drew money in Japan for DDT. He drew money in Japan and America for New Japan and his popularity was part of the reason for AEW coming into existence. He's been in countless great matches including legendary series with Okada, Naito and Jericho. But when he's just in the precipice of getting a proper main event title run in a major US promotion for the first time, I think would've made sense to just wait for another year or two to see how that plays out as well because it's clearly going to be a major part of his career.
  12. This had some nasty chops and hard bumps to go along with the usual athleticism you'd expect from an Omega match. Him leaping onto the barricade and doing a moonsault all in one motion was beautiful. I also love how hard Hangman throws is lariats now. Beautiful in a different way. I liked the story of both men knowing each other well but Kenny just having that higher level to go to at the end. This was really good and all the more exciting for the fact that they clearly left plenty in the tank because this will be a long series going forward. I'm ready for Kenny to become the champ. ****1/4
  13. They're just announcing record profits but they also need to take away the streaming income of a girl in her 20s who can't wrestle anymore because she hurt her neck in their ring.
  14. So why is he on TV at all then? Doing punishment jobs on a shitty wrestling show doesn't really live up to the seriousness of the allegations at hand.
  15. Rey Mysterio is a good promo now but he couldn't talk for shit in the past. But he was still a star because he had a cool look and did cool moves. I don't think everyone has to be a Monday Night Raw soap opera guy to get over. Ricochet has died on his arse when he's been asked to do those promos but the whole point of wrestling is that you book to accentuate positives and hide weaknesses. So why can't you strap the guy up with a midcard or tag team title and let him have a hot 10 minute match with a variety of opponents to open the show every week? And if you ever want to feature him in a more developed feud, shoot some pretaped interviews. It's all very simple if they weren't trying to mash square pegs into round holes to fit their outdated formula. Thinking of Orion and Miz, it's not just that it's them again after ten years. Like someone previously mentioned, Tanahashi and Chris Jericho are still around too. Jericho has reinvented himself a million times and wrestled in three different major promotions. Tanahashi went from being the ace in 2011, having his career defining feud with Okada 2012-16, having his last hurrah at the 2018 G1 and beating Kenny for the belt, and now the story is that the years have caught up to him and he can't be the top guy anymore. In that time he's also changed his theme twice and changed his attire and hair a million times. Jericho and Tana have had ten years of character development. But what's different about 2010 Randy Orton and 2020 Randy Orton? Or 2010 Miz and 2020 Miz? Same guys, same characters, same moves, same attires, same music. They've literally been spinning their wheels for a decade and have ended up in the exact same place doing the exact same thing. Miz is a fucking dork. And they're already squashing him like a bug now that he has the case. Why not just have Otis call his shot and build up to a TV main event where Reigns beats his ass? That takes the briefcase off the table and at least gives you a unique match.
  16. All the more bleak for the fact that it's building to a fucking Edge title match.
  17. This. WWE is obsessed with this shitty melodramatic ACTING in matches when you can just as easily tell the story without it.
  18. Figures that Vince would be all in on hammering home annoying verbiage
  19. Belt up Karl Fredericks or don't bother tbh
  20. That's why I think they ought to do an Intercontinental title main event on night one and a Heavyweight title main event on night two. And I guess if they can get Moxley in for a marquee match on one night they could get Jericho in to face like Suzuki or someone. It's still tough going to fill those nights even with that. They're going to have to let some of the lower guys have programmes.
  21. Sanada beat Naito during the G1 so they might do Sanada for the white belt on night one and Kota for the heavyweight on night two. Naito vs EVIL just seems like something we need to get through to get to the more interesting stuff. Talk about eating your vegetables.
  22. He's been 'about to expose them' any minute now for four years haha. If there's anyone on earth that's going to have a strong stance against sex pests it's Donald Trump and a bunch of pro wrestlers.

    G1 Climax 30

It was a weird final for me. Like WingedEagle said, I couldn't believe it when I heard the 25 minute call but idk if that's because it didn't feel that long or because they hadn't kicked into the higher gear you'd expect. Again, it's been said elsewhere that the finishing run was very exciting, especially with Ibushi doing the latest kick out of all time. I think it was like **** or maybe ****1/4 which is really good but a bit below what these finals usually are. I thought it was an incredible Kota Ibushi performance and Sanada was Sanada.

I don't hate Sanada by any means but he's had such an underwhelming tournament for someone going to the finals. If Tama Tonga had his tournament and finished on 6 points you'd say he had a nice campaign. But you're meant to be a main event star. Have some energy! I know they want to push the guy and have been elevating him, and that most of this year's top angles have been centred around LIJ so he might be the favourite, but I really hope Ibushi smacks this dork with a hard knee tomorrow and sends him back to the midcard.
  25. Everything is at the same arena in Florida for the foreseeable future anyway so it's not that big a deal if one of them works Monday and the other works Friday, especially if they live within driving distance of the place, which I presume most of them do.
