  1. Omg, I'm only now considering the possibility of Cena bringing hand written signs
  2. The build has been one of the best builds in a decade or longer
  3. The fact that they've not announced JOHN CENA VS THE UNDERTAKER by the end of the go-home Raw is either a sign that they're super confident that they have a stacked card or they don't think individual matches are a draw above the Wrestlemania name. If this match was five or six years ago the entire show and hype would probably have been built around it. It's super interesting and refreshing really.
  4. Cena not showing up til half way through the cold Randy Orton match and taking away all the attention would be a hoot
  5. Interesting to note how well the supposedly unanticipated Reigns vs Lesnar match is doing such great numbers on YouTube. Ronda, Cena, Bryan and Braun are doing well too but if you just looked at those numbers then this is the match with the most interest going in.
  6. ROH is such a small part of their business though that the only thing a boycott would damage is ROH, not Sinclair itself. Boycotts are only useful as part of an organised campaign that goes beyond the boycott itself imo. I don't think cutting ROH out of your schedule would make any difference on a wider level, though if you want to do it for personal reasons it makes sense. Whenever I get asked to boycott something over it's dodgy politics I always think to myself that my iPhone was probably made by a child slave or something and no one ever asks me to boycott it. We're all already compromised in that sense.
  7. Brocks bumping for the superman punch! If hes going out hes going out on a high!
  8. If ever we needed confirmation that Vince was back on form
  9. These segments with Ronda and Kurt have been a hoot, partially because of the heel performances and partially because they feel so close to going off the rails at any moment lol
  10. The last chances for WWE to hype their premier card, which has already been one of the best build and most stacked in a decade or more.
  11. That was incredible. What a heel! https://twitter.com/jmaynard8888/status/980361245458022400
  12. I don't mind long matches per se, but they become a chore if it's the norm rather than something out of the ordinary. Especially if it seems clear that the wrestlers are just filling time because they've been mandated to go longer than 30 minutes. As much as people complained about Brock Lesnar last year, there was something refreshing about WWE booking all his matches to be monster sprints that didn't break 10 minutes. Variety is important to me.
  13. I mean, they could touch on that but Ospreay and Scurll went 30 minutes and the Bucks vs Lovers tag went 40 so I think it's just the house style now
  14. Suzuki vs Goto is my favourite New Japan match of the year so far as well. And by a distance probably. I just can't abide these super overlong main events. They never fully hold me for the entire time and they probably would if they cut out some of the excess and kept it to 15-25 minutes instead of 40.
  15. Ok, they're called the Golden Lovers, they have a move called Cross Streams (or something) and JR was talking about "young lovers thinking of golden showers". Don't tell me this isn't a piss fetish gimmick. Late to the party on this one. It was fun. Lots of huge spots, but overall too many. The match was double the length it should have been really, which meant I probably forgotten more high spots than I remembered by the time it got to the closing stretches. They never stopped moving but there were still times where I found myself looking at the clock. I had high spot fatigue. Some of the sequences themselves were incredible, but there were also a fair few of those dance-y combinations that I kinda hate. Maybe some of the stuff would've come off less contrived if I was more familiar with the Bucks usual spots I guess. They would also go from selling death to go-go-go and back to selling death again a few times, which was annoying. I will say that it was super cool how over they all were and how these guys have managed to make themselves stars, even if their style isn't really for me. I'm not really sure how 'new' a lot of it is though. Seems like Omega, Matt and Nick grew up loving later day Shawn Michaels. Some of the hammy acting would've been buried online a lot more if it was done by, say, Shawn or John Cena. The story of Omega not wanting to hit the One Winged Angel was pretty ridiculous given that Matt had already been suplexed off the top onto his head and kneed in the face multiple times, but I guess that's the problem of finishers in wrestling more generally. I kinda hated that bit where Matt offered his arm so he would hit the move though. There were lots of cool spots with incredible athleticism and smart choreography - German suplex on the apron, tornado DDT on the floor, elbow off the top through the table, a million flips and dives - but a lot of them ended up not really meaning anything nor being sold all that much. Again, people buried John Cena for not selling a DDT on the floor but these guys blew off way more. I can see why Dave loved this though. Some people were claiming that this was the best tag team match ever but give me a high end traditionally structured tag or that Usos vs New Day cell match any day. ***3/4 because of the sheer amount they did.
  16. The same as any other article about an entertainment event - because people might be interested. Not everything has to be the most serious thing in the world.
  17. Maybe this is already well known but how is it that Moolah was able to attain so much power over womens wrestling when she was so shitty?
  18. Do we know for sure that the Pope wouldnt work his numbers?
  19. I'm just now starting to realise how restless I'm going to be sitting by myself watching the show with no commentary for 47 hours. Think of us poor euros who are up til about 6am watching the damn thing! (I confess that I don't know what time its on for you guys lol)
  20. If you only have time to watch one make it the Hell In A Cell. Interesting list and I've seen lots of discussion of how the final result may have been produced. Individually, I don't think there's any argument whatsoever for AJ Styles to have been placed first but he was obviously an unity candidate.
  21. I actually like the idea that I saw of Alexa being Braun's partner and acting super smug about being tag champion even though she never tags in.
  22. I saw people talking about that interview as if she was an idiot and didn't understand the question but to me it was so obvious that she was batting it away. I kind of enjoyed how she did it too. Maybe the answer to her WWE promo situation is to have Renee or someone in the ring interviewing her so there's someone to kind of lead her through the talking segments.
  23. Shane turning on Bryan at Mania. Calling it now
  24. I thought he was winning the battle royal tbh
  25. Rusev pins Orton so Im betting he gets added to the US title match. Good idea to stop it being a complete toilet break.
