Somehow weirder than him doing karate moves in front of pitch black walls. It looks like we're going to get a feud out of this?

Whoa, Iceman dropping an Uncle Tom line is brutal. I'm looking forward to where this is going, Iceman is gnarly.

Wow what a scene. Some of the bat shots look really brutal actually. Really frustrating to only have a clip here, but it's still great and it gets the job done.

[1990-07-14-NWA-World Championship Wrestling] Stan Hansen vs Tommy Rich
drew wardlaw replied to Loss's topic in July 1990
This match is a good example of Hansen making his opponent work hard in order for him to sell. But in this case, it isn't just hitting harder or moving faster, it's that Rich has to work smarter and show heart in order for Hansen to sell. Regular toe to toe offense isn't working, so Rich has to change up his strategy. Too bad about the finish, but oh well. This was really heating up, but it's still good. -
[1990-07-28-IWA-TV] Tommy Rogers vs Jimmy Backlund
drew wardlaw replied to Loss's topic in July 1990
Okay, so there's a jobber that was on 6:05 in the mid-80s, I believe named Jim BLACKLUND. He kind of looks the same, but I can't really find info on who it is, other than some results. Could have just been a random name or a production error on JCP's part though. But I love Jim Blacklund jobber matches. As for this, fairly inconsequential but solid, Tommy Rogers looks good and hits a great looking German suplex for the win. Backlund's Alabama Jam attempt looks huge too, bummer he didn't hit it. -
[1990-07-28-WWF-Saturday Night's Main Event] Demolition vs The Rockers
drew wardlaw replied to Loss's topic in July 1990
There was a scary sunset flip that Jannetty hits on crush. Outside of that, I don't know, this was okay. Was it Demolition that had that good match against the Rockers earlier in the year? I can't remember, but that was better than this one. Still though, The Rockers looked good and had some good double team moves, I didn't think Crush was awful, just kind of off. -
[1990-07-28-WWF-Saturday Night's Main Event] Mr Perfect vs Tito Santana
drew wardlaw replied to Loss's topic in July 1990
Awesome crowd for this. Not a lot of substance in the match but it wasn't about that. It was about working fast and having some really great false finishes. It accomplished that perfectly. Cool match.- 16 replies

[1990-07-20-USWA Texas] Steve Austin & Jeannie Clark vs Chris & Toni Adams
drew wardlaw replied to Loss's topic in July 1990
Yes! This this the match I was waiting for from this group. Toni gets some great revenge and she was awesome on the apron. The end just completely deteriorates into madness in one of the more wild scenes from uswa so far. Just sheer insanity with what looks like the entire roster flying around.- 10 replies

[1990-07-28-WWF-Saturday Night's Main Event] Rick Rude vs Ultimate Warrior
drew wardlaw replied to Loss's topic in July 1990
A lot of the WWF stuff on my discs doesn't have sound, so I've only gotten a couple of the rude/warrior promos. So with kind of watching this match in s vacuum, I really enjoyed it. I didn't really know what to expect but I liked Rude on offense and him beating down Warrior mid-comeback. I did not like Warrior celebrating so much after a count out victory (or was he angry?) I don't know, I didn't think Rude looked especially weak, although finish aside, Warrior handles him thoroughly. Also, Warrior looks totally different to me here and in an earlier promo. The fave paint and maybe a modified hair style or something? For a second I thought it was like Kerry Von Erich dressed up like him. -
[1990-07-16-WWF-Primetime Wrestling] Ted DiBiase vignette
drew wardlaw replied to Loss's topic in July 1990
Ehhh I didn't like this one. I don't mind the one note tone of of these but this one just wasn't interesting. -
I'm not very familiar with joshi but o didn't expect this to be as one sided as it was. Almost like Hansen vs Rich but less even maybe. Complete with a lariat! I enjoyed this but not as much as the other matches so far.

[1990-07-14-USWA-Memphis TV] Jerry Lawler and Dirty White Boys
drew wardlaw replied to Loss's topic in July 1990
Lawler swings and hits the ropes with the bat and for a second I thought I just swung and hit whichever dirty white boy was nearby. Sets up the big tag match coming up. -
[1990-07-14-USWA-Memphis TV] Interview: Eddie Gilbert
drew wardlaw replied to Loss's topic in July 1990
Eddie Gilbert asking Dave Brown if he has his money was really good, and super real sounding. Is this Mark Curtis the referee? He takes a hard shot and bumps big for Gilbert. Cool promo. -
[1990-07-13-USWA Texas] Jeff Jarrett vs Iceman Parsons
drew wardlaw replied to Loss's topic in July 1990
Haha is Jessica supposed to be Jeff? Cool match but I'm starting to burn out a bit on uswa/Memphis. I don't know if it's the yearbook format or the full shows, but everything is just so kinetic and non-stop. It's cool but there's just no room to take a breath here. -
[1990-07-07-USWA-Memphis TV] Bill Dundee vs Ken Wayne

Alright Dundee and Lawler teaming together, I'm in. -

[1990-07-07-USWA-Championship Sports] John Tatum and Bill Dundee

A grim look into the personal life of John Tatum. No crying or pleading here, which is pretty disappointing, but I like the heated Tatum promo too.- 9 replies

[1990-07-07-NWA-Great American Bash] Lex Luger vs Mark Callous
drew wardlaw replied to Loss's topic in July 1990
I'll have to go back and watch the full match, because I don't remember it but this clip was good and adds to what is a really solid show.- 10 replies

Lawler is representing me here. I though the line was "he's up" like he's up for a fight, or he's up on his feet and ready to go or something. Lawler seems confused and dismissive of the real answer and you can just tell he's holding back some smart remark. What a genius.

Not the last time for Ole to be surprised by an El Gigante encounter.
