  1. 8/16/1986 AGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY CIVIC CENTER: AUGUSTA, GEORGIA (HOUR #1) The show opens with a montage from last week’s show in the Boutwell Auditorium in Birmingham, Alabama where we see highlights of the UWF Tag title match where the Midnight Express with Jim Cornette defeated Brad Armstrong & Jeff Jarrett as Corny hit Brad with the tennis racket and Eaton rolled him up with a grab of the tights. Hello everybody. Welcome to UWF Wrestling. We are coming to you from Augusta-Richmond Civic Center in Augusta, Georgia. I am Jim Ross and my partner today is once again wrestling legend Jack Brisco. Well fans, you just saw it. Brad Armstrong and Jeff Jarrett could not regain their UWF Tag Team Championship. Jim Ross is interrupted by Jim Cornette and the Midnight Express. Jim Cornette: Like I told everyone time and time again. The Midnight Express, Beautiful Bobby and Loverboy Denis, are the greatest tag team in professional wrestling today. There was never any doubt that we would beat those two spoiled brats, Brad Armstrong and Jeff Jarrett. Jack Brisco: Yeah you are right Cornette, there was never any doubt after you cracked Brad over the head with your tennis racket. Jim Cornette: Watch your mouth Brisco. My tennis racket is worth much more than an Armstrong’s head. U.S. Express (Windham & Rotundo) defeats Scott Doring & Ken Raper with the Running Bulldog by Windham At the interview desk, the U.S. Express are asked what they think about the new UWF tag champs, the Midnight Express. Both Windham and Rotundo belief that their title reign is going to be a short one as Brad and JJ will get those belts back this week in Memphis but if for some reason they don’t, Rotundo and Windham would love a title shot just to shut Cornette up. COMMERCIAL Dick Murdoch with Ron Wright (out of his wheelchair) defeats Albert Deny with a Brainbuster Ron Wright: Turn my microphone up right now. Turn it UP! Jim Ross: I have no control of your microphone Mr. Wright. Ron Wright: I doubt that. Everyone around here is out to control my Army. What happened last week in Nashville was UWF thieving at its best! I mean that two bit loser Jerry Lawler comes to ringside at talks one of his crony refs into reversing his decision and gave Terry Taylor back his UWF Continental Title after Dick Murdoch won it fair and square. Jack Brisco: Come on Ron. You tossed Murdoch some sort of foreign object and he got caught. All Lawler did was stand up for what is right. Dick Murdoch: What is right is for a man to fight his own battles. I beat the snot out of Terry Taylor and the ref counted his shoulders down for the three count and then Jerry Lawler comes prancing down to the ring where his nose don’t belong. I know what would have happened to guy if he done that down in West Texas and it might include a long stay in a hospital. Well I think I am going to come up to your own home down this week and teach you people in Tennessee what a man really looks like, Jim Ross: Dick Murdoch… Are you challenging Jerry “the King” Lawler” to a match in his home town? Dick Murdoch: I am not challenging him. I am inviting him to beating! As Murdoch storms off, Brisco and Ross discuss how even though Ron Wright’s enemies seem to be growing in number, Ron Wright might just have the horses to quiet those people down. Bob Armstong defeats Verlon with the Georgia Jawbreaker We find out that it will be a tough task for the Bullet this week as his next match will be against the Russian Nightmare. Ross reminds Bob that Iceman Parsons was out here last week saying all the right things but he is not here today as he was carried out on a stretcher from his match with Nikita last week in Nashville. Bob Armstrong: I know Nikita is fighting mad about losing his World title and he is out to make a point. Well my mama raised me to never back down from a fight and I am going to give it everything I got for all those fans who are giving it everything they got at their jobs. I didn’t come from much and know that American grit has gotten me to where I am today and I am not going to allow some Russian take that away from me or these fans. COMMERCIAL The Demon (Brian Adams in a red mask) defeats Lou Winston with a Heart Punch Jim Ross wants to get to the bottom of why the Demon joined forces last week and attacked Atlantis. The Demon: Our manager said that Atlantis tried to embarrass Devil’s Duo and that there is room for only one masked man in the UWF. Jack Brisco: Who is your manager? I didn’t see anyone with you at ringside? The Demon simply walks off without answering the question. Doom crushes Tom Stone & Rocky Iaukea Brisco and Ross discuss last week’s war from the Nashville between Doom and Devastation Inc that ended in a DDQ. Both announcers know there is more to come and just how dangerous the feud between Doom, JYD and Dr. Death are in against Skandar Akbar and his army. From out of nowhere, Akbar’s entire stable hits the ring but JYD and Dr. Death seem to have been expecting this and are out in no time and the weekly brawl is on. One thing is for sure, Akbar’s addition of KKB might have swayed the odds in his favor. This one ends with the evil forces in control of the ring. Brisco and Ross wonder how JYD is going to fare against the Bundy this week in the Mid-South Coliseum. COMMERCIAL Jerry Lawler is at the interview desk where he is laughing at the threats made earlier by Dick Murdoch that he was going to crush him this week in Memphis. Jerry Lawler: I mean this is getting ridiculous. Week after week we listen to that so-called manager, Ron Wright, saying he is going to clean up wrestling by getting rid of the unchristianed and then each week we seem him cheat like a river boat card dealer on the Mississippi. What Wright and Murdoch did last week by trying to steal Terry Taylor’s belt and when I pointed that out to ref Jerry Calhoun he did the right thing. As for me, the King of Memphis, being afraid of Murdoch just because he is from West Texas. He must be out of his mind. West Texas is the place where men are men and cows are afraid! Nikita Koloff stretchers Mike Hendricks after multiple Russian Sickles The post-match interview is quick as Ivan Koloff just reminds Cowboy Bill Watts that all of these injuries to American wrestlers by Nikita can be stopped by just giving the Russian Nightmare what he rightfully deserves which is a UWF title match with Magnum T.A. Sean Royal defeats Tim Brooks with a Top Rope Knee Drop
  2. I really enjoy wondering who the masked man is... can't wait to find out
  3. MAJOR UWF SHOWS FOR THE WEEK OF 8/11/86 NASHVILLE: TENNESSEE STATE FAIR GROUNDS Warlord with Skandar Akbar beats Scott Doring with Diving Clothesline after Akbar tripped up Royal. Sean Royal beats Killer Brooks with a top rope knee drop Devils Duo beat Rocky Iaukea and Lou Winston (Iaukea subbing for Jerry Bryant) with some questionable tactics Devastation Inc (Haku & Barbarian) with Skandar Akbar wrestled Doom (Simmons & Reed) to a DCO as the two teams fought all over the building. Nikita Koloff beat Iceman Parsons with a stretcher job as he just picking up Iceman for another Russian Sickle. Eventually Magnum T.A. rushed down and threw in the white towel. T.A. and Nikita just starred each other down. Rock n Roll Express & Buddy Landell with Jack Brisco vs the Fab Ones and Lex Luger ended with a 20 minute draw that saw each person have time to shine. After the match, Baby Doll once again slapped Buddy Landell but he did not respond. The Midnight Express and the Rock n Roll Express obviously have some unfinished business and it is starting to look like Luger and Landell are beginning something. NWA US Champ Ted Dibaise and King Kong Bundy with Skandar Akbar defeated Dr. Death Steve Williams and JYD as Bundy hit JYD with an Atlantic City Avalanche. This happened after Akbar distracted the ref and Dibiase hit Dr. Death with the loaded black glove. With Williams out of the action, Dibiase slugged JYD with the glove and then KKB finished it of with his finisher. Magnum T.A. & Jerry Lawler defeated Ivan Koloff and Ole Anderson as T.A. and Lawler got some revenge on this group for Nikita’s earlier beating of Iceman. Once T.A. and Lawler got the advantage, they both doubled down on their finishers as T.A. hit two belly to belies on Koloff and Lawler hit two piledrivers on Anderson. The crowd went wild as T.A. and Lawler pinned both Anderson and Koloff. BIRMINGHAM: BOUTWELL AUDITORIUM Atlantis defeats the Iranian Assassin with a Top Rope Plancha Grizzly Boone crushed Jesse James with a Giant Splash U.S. Express (Windham & Rotundo) beat the Long Riders with Ron Wright by DQ as Black Bart hit Windham in the ribs with the branding iron Ron Fuller with Ron Wright defeated Bob Armstrong with the Fuller Leg Lock. Wright weakened Armstrong’s leg as he road over it with his wheelchair. It certainly seemed like Wright was healthy enough as he seemed to pick it up on drop it across the Bullet. Dirty Dick Slater and Big Bubba Rogers with Jim Cornette wrestled to a DDQ as the ref just lost control. In the end, Slater connected with some big right hands to drop Rogers. He then went after Corny who once again escaped and avoided a beating. UWF CONTINENTAL TITLE MATCH: Terry Taylor defeated Dick Murdoch Ron Wright by DQ in a match that saw Ron Wright had a foreign object to Murdoch who clocked Taylor and then he followed it up with the Brainbuster and appeared to get a three count to win the belt. Murdoch slipped the foreign object into his shorts. All of a sudden the crowd erupted as Jerry Lawler came to the ring and explained to the ref Jerry Calhoun. Wright and Murdoch denied it but in Tennessee, Lawler gets what he wants. Calhoun searched Murdoch and found the object and he reversed his decision. UWF TAG TITLE MATCH: The Midnight Express with Jim Cornette defeated Brad Armstrong & Jeff Jarrett as Corny hit Brad with the tennis racket and Eaton rolled him up with a grab of the tights. **** Title Change
  4. NIce show here. I think Leduc has been a nice addition for you as his style fits perfectly. The Sports Shop continues to be a highlight of each show. I agree with the others that the main event was fun as Ron Star got some of his own medicine.
  5. NIce card here. I enhoyed the format as it was easy to follow. I think PYT vs Zamnbouie Express could be a great feud for you.
  6. 8/9/1986 COLUMBUS MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM: COLUMBUS, GEORGIA (HOUR #2) SORRY POSTED SHOWS OUT OF ORDER THIS SHOULD HAVE COME BEFORE LAST ONE This hour begins with a replay of what happened to end the first hour as we see KKB hit the ring and save Ted Dibiase’s U.S. title in his match with Dr. Death Steve Williams and then JYD to hit the ring for a major 2-2 brawl. After the replay is over Ted Dibiase, King Kong Bundy and Skandar Akbar are at the interview desk. Jim Ross: King Kong Bundy… I am confused. You know longer work for Mr. Dibiase. What was that attack on Dr. Death for? Ted Dibiase: I will answer that. You all saw that briefcase that General Akbar gave me to begin our first hour as payment for the services of King Kong Bundy. Well, I am not only the best wrestler in the world today, I am one hell of a business man. I gave General Akbar a sort of discount in exchange for his protection whenever I come to the UWF. I know that Watts would love to cheat me out of my title. Well now, I have Devastation Inc. watching my back! Cowboy Bill Watts comes out and he is angry about Dibiase calling him a cheater. What comes of this exchange is that this week in Nashville it will be Dibiase and KKB vs Dr. Death and JYD! Grizzly Boone crushes Jesse James with a Giant Splash During the entire match, Ross and Brisco are explaining to the audience , that Grizzly has become a real thorn in the side of Ron Wright. They talk about how Boone stopped the interference of Wright’s Army twice in the last 10 days. Once leaving the entire Army scattered over the arena floor and the second time how he actually hit Wright with the Giant Splash. While they are discussing this, Wright, still in a wheelchair, and his entire army surrounds the ring. It is Bass, Black Bart, Murdoch and Fuller each taking a side of the squared circle. Before anything happens Terry Taylor, Bullet Bob Armstrong, Brad Armstrong and Jeff Jarrett slide into the ring. With the numbers advantage now in favor of the babyfaces, Wright calls for a retreat. To a loud ovation, the fan favorites come over to the interview area where they are all confident that they have Ron Wright on the ropes. Terry Taylor hypes up his match this week against Dick Murdoch for the Continental Title as does Bullett and his match with the Tennessee Stud. The UWF tag champs, Brad and JJ, hype up their upcoming title match in the Boutwell Auditorium vs the Midnight Express. COMMERCIAL U.S. Express (Windham & Rotundo) defeat the Foreign Assassins (Cuban & Iranian) with the Running Bulldog from Windham Fans really enjoyed this one as the U.S. Express seems to be just what the UWF needed to deal with of these foreign heels. Iceman Parsons beats Killer Brooks with the Butt Bump Both Brisco and Ross seem to have some concern for Iceman as he goes into his match against Nikita Koloff this week in Nashville. When reminded that Nikita promised that each of his opponents will leave the ring on a stretcher until he gets a UWF title shot, Iceman said that he has never been carried out on a stretcher before and he is not about to start now! COMMERCIAL Hacksaw Butch Reed defeats the Warlord with Skandar Akbar as he connects with a Spear During the match, Hacksaw is joined by his Doom teammate, Ron Simmons, as Akbar tried on numerous occasions to interfere in the match. At the interview desk, Simmons and Reed are all fired up about their match with Devastation Inc this week in Nashville. Cowboy Bill Watts comes out and is proud to announce that the UWF and Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling have once again partnered with the Tennessee State Fair to run Music City Mayhem which will include the Music City Bowl singles and tag team tournaments, each belt of the UWF and MACW being defended, and all champions facing off against each other for a shot at the NWA World Champion and Tag Team Champions. Watts explains that this event will take place during the fair and run from Sept.12 to Sept 21! COMMERCIAL The Midnight Express with Jim Cornette defeats Memphis Vice as Eaton hit the Alabama Jammer At the interview desk, Cornette is full of laughter as we see a quick video of him punching and kicking Dick Slater all around the ring last week in the Omni. Jim Cornette: Last week Cowboy Bill Watts thought he had me. He handcuffed me to his smelly fat body and thought that Dick Slater was going to take me out. Well my mother always told me how tough I was and now Dick Slater found out that she is never been wrong! Jack Brisco: Oh give me a break. Bubba Rogers violently attacked Slater with his nightstick before you even got in the ring. You were fighting a man who was knocked out and truthfully, I was still surprised Slater didn’t hurt you. Jim Cornette: Watch it Brisco. You might be the next to feel my wrath. Speaking of wrath… this week in Birmingham at the Boutwell Auditorium, the UWF is going to feel the wrath of the greatest group of wrestlers ever established. Big Bubba is going to take care of Dick Slater once and for all and then the Midnight Express, the greatest tag team in professional wrestling today, Beautiful Bobby and Lover Boy Denis are going to beat those spoiled brats, Brad Armstrong and Jeff Jarrett, to within an inch of their lives and take those UWF tag team titles! Jim Ross: Watch out! Dick Slater comes out swinging a night stick! Cornette saw it out of the corner of his eye and ducked just in time. Corny then took off running with Slater in hot pursuit. The last camera picture of the night saw Big Bubba Rogers lying in a heap in one of the corners of the arena looking like he was holding his head.
  7. 8/16/1986 AGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY CIVIC CENTER: AUGUSTA, GEORGIA (HOUR #2) Before our first match of this hour, we see a video from last weeks event in Nashville where the Rock n Roll Express and Buddy Landell had a 20 minute draw with the Fab Ones and Lex luger. The video ended with Baby Doll once again smacking Budd y Landell but he did not react. Match: The Fab Ones with Ernie Ladd & Baby Doll beat Larry Lathem & Barry Bath At the interview desk, Ladd, Baby Doll and the Fab Ones take turns reminding everyone that two weeks ago they defeated Doom and became the #1 contenders to the NWA National tag belts and that the Rock n Roll Express are just hiding because they know they can’t defeat the Fab Ones. When asked about the smack of Buddy Landell, Baby Doll again stresses that if Landell wants a shot at Luger but he can’t even beat her! This brings out the Rock n Roll Express who are fuming about being labeled as champions that would run away from a challenge. As this appears to get heated, Cowboy Bill Watts comes out and reminds everyone that he is the matchmaker around here. He goes on to hype up the joint UWF-MACW event in Nashville labeled Music City Mayhem coming up in a few weeks. He lets everyone know that in the coming weeks, he will be announcing the title matches and the UWF participants in the singles and tag team tournaments to crown the 2nd Music Coty Bowl winners. The last thing he says it that the first match he is going to announce is the NWA National tag match between the Fab Ones and the Rock n Roll Express. COMMERCIAL Magnum T.A. crushes The Cuban Assassin with multiple belly to belly suplexes Magnum is in no mood for talking in the post-match interview as he simply says “Nikita Koloff … any time… any place” and he keeps on going to the locker room. Both Ross and Brisco say they have never seen Magnum this made and both agree that the reason the Cuban Assassin received more than one belly to belly suplexes was a response to Nikita’s multiple Russian Sickles in Mike Hendricks in the first hour of the show. Brad Armstrong & Jeff Jarrett defeat two jobbers This was just a last second tune up for their UWF tag title match this week in Memphis and both do a nice job on the mic convincing the fans that they are going to get their belts back. One thing that is for sure is that the young JJ is good on the mic! COMMERCIAL Grizzly Boone defeats Black Bart with Ron Wright as he hit the Giant Splash This upset victory just continued to build the story here that Wright made a mistake when he fired Boone. With Bart on the ground, Ron Bass tried to rush the ring to get revenge for his fellow Long Rider but he suffered the same fate. With the Long Riders both struggling to get to their feet, Boone turned to make eye contact with Wright. It looked like Wright had seen a ghost as he turned pale white and high-tailed it back to the locker room. COMMERCIAL Buddy Landell with Coach Brisco defeats Action Jackson with the Figure 4 At the interview desk, Jim Ross lets Landell reminds everyone that Landell is on a major roll but wants to get Landell’s take on Baby Doll smacking him twice in the last week. Buddy Landell: Baby Doll is running scared right now. She sees how much Coach Brisco has helped me and she is willing to do anything to save Luger’s title. Jim Ross: But still, she seems to be trying to embarrass you Jack Brisco: I will take that one… there are a lot of things in this business that are done to do just that. Baby Doll is trying to embarrass Buddy but it won’t work. The embarrassment for the Perfect Alliancce is going to come when we take that title. Buddy is a great student and he knows that I will tell him when the time to react to a situation is and right now, it is not the time. Baby Doll comes out and gets right in the face of Buddy Landell. Baby Doll: I am not trying to embarrass you. You have already done that to yourself. I am just trying to prove that you do not deserve a title shot as you couldn’t even beat me never mind the Total Package Lex Luger. Get in the ring with me and that we will see you being embarrassed even more. Buddy Landell: Wow… it must be frustrating to you to hear a man say no! Smack! Baby Doll once again smacks Landell. Buddy Landell: I think Lex must not be living up to his hype as the Total package. You just seem to be itching to roll around with me. Smack! Another open hand by Baby Doll Jack Brisco: Hey Buddy, remember when I said I would tell you when the time to react was. Well… Time! Buddy Landell simple walks over to Baby Doll and picks her up and puts her over his knee. The screen fades to black as the show ends just as it appears that Landell’s right hand is coming down across her bottom!
  8. Nice treat for the fans in Amarillo. The cat fight would bringing in some whistles in Texas and then those Texans would settle in for some real brawling and they would have enjoyed most of those outcomes and gone home happy. Kerry vs Dory was some great booking based on location as was Terry and Dusty both getting wins
  9. MACW is a great place to be right now. From the show in Greenville, I loved the substitution of Ganter for Link. Link vs Lewin would be wild fun. NIce use of Iron Mike Sharpe as he looked like he had a shot againsy WIldfire. I mostly remember him from Georgia where he had a decent run and then the WWF were he never won. Nice win for the Snuka group and now we will just have to see if he can get over Dibiase. While they are currently on opposite cards, somehow we all want to see Dibiase vs Orndorff. I wonder who is the true king of MACW
  10. The violence of that last house shouw would be epic. Between thr Battons, Dutvh, Jsggers, LeDuc and the rest, this would have been one bloody night in WWC. Fun and violent read as always.
  11. Garvin vs Kernodle... anything could happen and probably will
  12. 8/9/1986 COLUMBUS MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM COLUMBUS, GEORGIA (HOUR #1) The show opens with a montage from last week’s major cards in the Omin and the Mid-South Coliseum where the Fab Ones become the #1 contenders to the NWA National titles as Baby Doll and Ernie Ladd used enough trickery to have Lane hit Simmons with brass knucks, the Road Warriors wrestle Devastation Inc to a double countout, Big Bubba Rogers beating Dick Slater with his nightstick which allowed Jim Cornette to whoop up on Slater for 5 minutes and Jerry Lawler finishing off the Honky Tonk Man once and for all in a steel cage as the Memphis fans went wild. Hello everybody. Welcome to UWF Wrestling. We are coming to you from Columbus Municipal Auditorium in downtown Columbus, Georgia. I am Jim Ross and my partner today is once again wrestling legend Jack Brisco. Well fans, you just saw it. It was a wild week in the UWF and this promises to be more of the same. Jack Brisco: Speaking of wild, this hour we have one heck of a main event as the NWA U.S. Champ is here and he is putting his title on the line against none other then Steve “Dr. Death” Williams. Jim Ross: What a match that is going to be and right now we are going to bring out the U.S. Champ. Ted Dibiase comes out to some real negative treatment from the fans but that only seems to make that smirk grow. Ted Dibiase: Well every time I come to the UWF, two things are guaranteed. I am richer and these fans are uglier. Last time I was here, I beat JYD like the dog he is and now the NWA has sent me back here to clean up some medical waste…. I believe you call him Dr. Death. Jack Brisco: If you are not careful, it will be you who is being used as a human mop in the ring. Ted Dibiase: Well it is always great to hear from the geriatrics in Georgia. And as much as I would like to continue this conversation, I am a business man and I am here for business. Skandar Akbar please come out here. As Akbar comes out in full Arabian entire, Jim Ross wants to know what this is about as Akbar hands Dibiase a briefcase. Ted Dibiase: As I said, I am a business man and I am in the business of making money! As Dibiase opens the briefcase full of hundred dollar bills, Jim Ross pushes to get to the bottom of this. Ted Dibaise: Well if you must know, I have just sold one of my wrestlers to General Skandar Akbar! Jim Ross: And who might that be? General Skandar Akbar: Turn your attention to the ring as you are about to find out that it was money well spent and this will mark the beginning of the end to those three stoogies, Dr. Death, Hacksaw Reed and Ron Simmons, who were stupid enough to go to war with Devastation Inc. King Kong Bundy with Skandar Akbar defeats Verlon Biggs with the Atlantic City Avalanche COMMERCIAL The Demon (Brian Adams in a red mask) crushes Lanny McDaniel with the Full Nelson Slam As Brisco and Ross continue to push this 6’7, 330 pounder, something very interesting happens as the Devil’s Duo (Jeff Sword & Doug Vines) come out and escort the Demon back to the dressing room. Ross and Brisco’s heads are spinning trying to figure this one out. Buddy Landell defeats Mike Dwyer with the Figure 4! Once again, Jack Brisco went over to the ring to coach his pupil who really took care of business here. At the interview desk, Jack Brisco takes over and reminds us all that he said Landell has real talent and that he hasn’t lost since then. Brisco starts saying that it is time for the UWF to forget about what happened to Buddy in the past as he just had some bad luck with tag team partners. Jim Ross: And which title are you looking to get. Buddy Landell: That is easy…. The UWF Southern Title. I mean Jack has taught me not to gloat until you accomplish something but have you heard Ernie Ladd lately. He acts like he made Lex Luger. I mean Lex was champ when Ernie was running his mouth down in Texas. These comments bring out both Ernie Ladd and Baby Doll. Ernie Ladd: Jack, you know we go way back brother. We had some real rumbles. You won some and I won some and that is because we were both great at one time. Lex Luger is great now and you better check this punk before he gets hurt! Baby Doll: You got that right Big Cat! I mean look at this little bleach blonde loser. I mean he wants a match with Lex. He couldn’t beat me. Come on Landell, you and me right now. If you beat me, you get a title shot. Buddy Landell: Sorry, I don’t hit women. Baby Doll: Oh come on. You would love to roll around on the mat with me but you know you would get hurt! Buddy Landell: Sorry, I don’t hit women. SMACK! Baby Doll hits Landell right across the face but Landell remains stoic and doesn’t strike back. Baby Doll: Well Nature Girl, if you want a shot at Lex, you got to go through me. As Ladd and Baby Doll walk off, Jack reminds Landell that there is a time for the Nature Boy show and it is not against a woman! COMMERCIAL Nikita Koloff did stretcher job on Rocky Iaukea with the Russian Sickle Ole Anderson and Ivan Koloff join Nikita at the interview desk where they are very guarded about where Nikita has been over the last few weeks. Jim Ross lets everyone know that the rumor was that Nikita was called back to Russia to be punished for losing the NWA title to Kerry VonErich. Ivan denies this but does say that Russia is better then America because it doesn’t accept losing. Ivan and Ole are pushing for a UWF title shot against Magnum T.A. as they know that it a stepping stone to regain the World title. Jack Brisco gets a little daring here as he says that Nikita went AWOL and is going to have to work his way back up the ladder. Ivan Koloff: The longer the UWF waits to give Nikita a title shot against Magnum, the more Americans who are going to get hurt. Did you not see the stretcher in the last match? Cowboy Bill Watts, you say you love America then stop seeing Americans get hurt! Jack Brisco: Well we will see as this week in Birmingham at the Boutwell Auditorium, Nikita will have his hands full with Iceman King Parsons! Ole Anderson: And that is why America is no longer the superpower that they used to be. Russian puts up the Russian Nightmare and America puts up Iceman Parsons! Atlantis defeats The Gambler with a Top Rope Plancha This masked man is really endearing himself to the fans as the love his aerial tactics. The problem is that a few weeks ago, Atlantis embarrassed the Devil’s Duo by taking them both out. Well know he is attacked from behind by the massive Demon. Atlantis suffers a Full Nelson Slam by the monster and then Sword and Vines go to work. Fellow youngsters Sean Royal and Scott Doring come out to make the save but the damage has already been done! Brisco and Ross know understand why the Devil’s Duo came out and talked to the Demon after his match. COMMERCIAL NWA U.S. Title Match: Ted Dibiase vs Steve “Dr. Death” Williams We get about 8 minutes of a great match here with a few momentum changes. Dr. Death started hot using his power and Dibiase got the turn in the momentum using some questionable tactics and then he went to work on Dr. Death’s legs. When Dr. Death refused to submit to the Figure 4, Dibiase became frustrated and appeared to load up that black glove of his. As he threw the big punch, Dr. Death ducked under it and hit the ropes and came off with a big football tackle. Just as it looked like we might have a new champ, KKB rushed out and hit Dr. Death with a leg drop. The ref called for the bell as Jim Ross and Jack Brisco are fuming. KKB gets only about 1 minute to work over Dr. Death as JYD hits the ring. JYD and Bundy are slugging it out in the middle of the ring. Skandar Akbar sends out the rest Haku and the Barbarian but they are met at the ring by Doom and we have a brawl with amazing star power! Dibiase vs Dr. Death, KKB vs JYD and Devastation Inc. vs Doom all at one time. The only was this ends is a forced commercial break as we end the first hour.
  13. The main event was fun with Team Lutte vs Team Portland. Nout sure of all your venues but you two could really work something out for your west coast swing.
  14. In 1986 Portland Wrestling loop seemed to be Monday: Seaside, Oregon Tuesday: Medford, Oregon Thursday: Salem, Oregon Friday: Eugene, Oregon Saturday: Portland With spot shows in Seattle
  15. While Lex is a bit green, he did wrestle Ric Flair at this time to a 2/3 falls draw so if the NWA saw enough in him to do that to the World Champ, I think I will also. Ole also put a green as grass Tommy Rich over in 1979 so I could seem him and Watts doing what is best for the company. As for JYD, by this time, he had NO Showed for Watts enough that our loyalty for him would not be very high. He is a draw but patiences is wearing thin. He someone else thinks he is a star. let him go there.
  16. Thank you for your comments but I must disagree with a few things. By this point in his career, Lex Luger is ranked in the top 10 by PWI and will hold that ranking for years. JYD maybe a star with the fans but due to some poor lifestyle choices, can no longer go more than 10 minutes in the ring. Kendall obviously is not Barry but in 1986, he was over pretty big in Florida and held the Florida HW title 4 times in the last year while Ole is basically done. Ivan has a little left but loses way more than he wins in 86 and would be a nice person to have put over a patriotic team.
  17. I love heel Jiimy Garvin. He was so good at bothering people that you couldn;t wait for him to get it and I was glad when Borne put him and Precious in their place. I would say that the Road Warriors are such a great attraction that I would have moved them down the card a bit
  18. While Jaggers and Dutch is becoming an epic feud, in my opinion, WWC still is all about Colon and who will become his big threat. Abdullah vs Colon always sells but I think Bigelow could be that star. Also, great job of continuing the build of Benoit.
  19. Great work building up your roster so quickly. I am really looking forward to Summer Gold. Billy Jack back home in Portland for this event is awesome.
  20. I enjoy your use of the idea that turn around is fair play. Brad attacking Gama early in the night is quickly paid back. While Rocky and Wendell were good champs, I think the belts are now on the premier team in the MACW with the Awesome Twosome. KKB is tough enough alone but throw in the Awesome Twosome and BNB is in trouble. He may need some friends of his own in this feud. Orndorff and Bull taking a beating post-victory is always a nice way to continue a feud. Great booking.
  21. It is amazing what a giant heels can do for a promotion. The heat they get makes everything seem so big. The Samoans are that team for you and you did a great job making them seem unbeatable.
  22. Great set of shows. I could only imagine what Fritz and Boesch could have done if they came together more often. Killer Khan is one of those heels that as a kid you always thought could beat anyone and I would have been nervous for Kerry. The Funkin Revenge Tour promo was great and had me wondering if that would have been censored. Battle of the Belts was fun: A win in the debut for Valiant was great. He is perfect short time and always gives a promotion a bit of a push. The win for Wrestling 2&3 takes some pressure off a 2 to look good in front of 3. Great title matches but I was surprised that no titles changes hands. It is all good with me but I was just waiting for the shoe to fall. When we got to the semi-main event I just thought it was coming
  23. Now that is some show for a high school. I need to be an exhange student in Ardmore
  24. Done
  25. MAJOR UWF SHOWS FOR THE WEEK OF 8/4/86 ATLANTA, GEORGIA: THE OMNI Sean Royal beats Cuban Assassin in an upset victory that really got the fans going as they were fuming over the Assassin’s anti-American ring entrance The Demon (Brian Adams in a red mask) crushed Action Jackson with a powerbomb from the big man Iceman Parsons defeats the Iranian Assassin with the Butt Bump. The Cuban Assassin tried to run in but was caught by Sean Royal who enjoyed continuing his fight from earlier. #1 Contenders Match for the NWA National Tag Titles: The Fab Ones defeated Doom as Ernie Ladd distracted the ref and Stan Lane pulled out some brass knucks and clobbered Ron Simmons and gained the 3 count. Steve “Dr. Death” Williams defeated the Warlord with Skandar Akbar with the Oklahoma Stampede. Dr. Death also delighted the fans as he caught Akbar with a big football tackle as the manager tried to stick his nose where it didn’t belong. UWF TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: Jeff Jarrett & Brad Armstrong defeated the Long Riders (Bass & Bart) with Ron Wright as JJ caught Bart with the Inverted Russian Legsweep. UWF CONTINENTAL TITLE MATCH: Terry Taylor defeated Ron Fuller with a Flying Forearm UWF SOUTHERN TITLE MATCH: Lex Luger defeated JYD as Baby Doll distracted the ref which allowed Ernie Ladd to enter the ring and hit the Dog with a Big Boot as Lex held him. Luger followed this up with a powerslam for the victory. It is obvious that Ladd and Baby Doll’s Perfect Alliance is a very dangerous organization. NWA WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: The Road Warriors with Paul Ellering wrestled Devastation Inc. (Barbarian & Haku) with Skandar Akbar to a Double Count-out in a brawl that fans in the Omni will not soon forget. The Road Warriors may have found a team as powerful and crazy as the are as we saw power move after power move! The fight outside the ring started with Haku on the floor being lifted up by Animal. Hawk actually connected with the top rope Doomsday Device all the way to the arena floor. Barbarian came over and it was obvious that both teams were more interested in hurting their opponents then getting the win. MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE: MID-SOUTH COLISEUM Atlantis defeats Tim Brooks with a Top Rope Plancha Scott Doring defeats Rocky Iaukea with a powerslam The Devils Duo (Vines &Sword) defeats Memphis Vice with some dirty tactics as Sword argued with the ref and Vines hit a low blow on Bryant Buddy Landell with Coach Jack Brisco defeated Brickhouse Brown with the Figure 4 U.S. Express (Windham & Rotundo) defeated Ole Anderson & Ivan Koloff in a real war as Windham actually hit a Running Bulldog on Ivan on the cement floor and then got him back in the ring and rolled him up for the three count. Rotundo and Ole were feuding on the other side of the arena floor as this occurred. 6 Man Tag Match: Rock n Roll Express & Dick Slater vs The Midnight Express and Big Bubba Rogers with Jim Cornette. If Slater and the RnR Express win, Slater gets 5 minutes alone with Jim Cornette. This match was wild and very rarely was one on one as this match was bonzo gonzo much of the time as there was often multiple members of each team fighting at once. Rogers and the Express did a nice job of isolating Morton at one point but once he made the tag, it was all babyfaces! Slater took care of Rogers with multiple tapped right fists as Cornette was screaming about a DQ. The end saw the double drop kick on Condrey by Morton and Gibson. As Cornette was in shock that he now had to get in the ring to face Slater, BBR came up from behind Slater with the night stick and he went to work on his former stable mate. Once Slater was basically out of it, Cornette came in for his 5 minutes which he threw girly punches and kicks at Slater as Rogers and the Midnight Express made sure the Rock n Roll Express didn’t interfere. UWF TITLE MATCH: Magnum T.A. defeats Dick Murdoch with Ron Wright in a nice brawl that eventually saw T.A. hit the Belly to Belly. STEEL CAGE MATCH: Jerry Lawler beats the Honk Tonk Man in a bloody brawl that saw Lawler take his fist drop to the extreme as he came off the top of the cage.
