  1. MAJOR UWF SHOWS FOR THE WEEK OF 3/15 /86 MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE: MID-SOUTH COLISEUM Big Bubba Ottman with Ron Right defeated Dixie Dynamite #1 with a Big Slash Exotic Adrian Street with Miss. Linda defeated Larry Cheatem with a Sleeper. Shaska Whatley with Ernie Ladd defeated Mike Graham when he followed up Ladd’s Big Boot with a Top Rope Diving Headbut. Jeff Jarrett shocked everyone by defeating Buddy Landell. Landell controlled the entire match but was a little too cocky when he went for the Figure 4 and got caught in a roll up by Jarrett. Brad Armstrong defeats Ivan Koloff with the Russian Legsweep Hacksaw Butch Reed defeated Scott Hall with the help of a Big Boot from Ernie Ladd. SOUTHERN STATES TITLE MATCH: STEEL CAGE: Lex Luger defeated Mr. USA Tony Atlas after Luger somehow powered out after a Gorilla Press Slam by Atlas and later he caught the challenger in the Lex Plex. It was Hacksaw Butch Reed who came down and threw in the white towel. Atlas did not look at all pleased. NWA WORLD TITLE MATCH: Rick Martel and Nikita Koloff wrestle to a double countout as they were brawling on the outside. As soon as the ref called for the bell, Ivan got involved and they rolled the champ back into the ring and gave it to him pretty good. All of a sudden, the crowd exploded as none other the Magnum TA hit the ring. He quickly caught Ivan in a belly to belly suplex. Nikita came over with a stomp to the midsection. Nikita than hit the ropes coming off for the Russian Sickle. TA ducks under and catches the Russian Nightmare in another belly to belly suplex! This is the first time since he arrived on the UWF that Nikita was the one left flat on his back in the center of the ring! TA and Martel left the ring to thunderous applause! BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA: THE BOUTWELL AUDITORIUM The Masked Avenger (Ed Wiskowski) defeated Todd Champion The Texas Tornados (Kendell Windham & Sam Houston) wrestles Ron Bass & Black Bart to a Double DQ. The action just went completely bonkers and the ref had to call for the bell. The Ultimate Warrior with Paul Ellering defeated The Barbarian with Skandar Akbar ended in a double count-out as the brawl ended up on the floor. Even both managers got into it. Dick Murdoch gains some revenge for Jeff Jarrett as he avenged the Tar and Feathering as he beat Rip Oliver with the Brainbuster. Tommy Rich & Bob Armstrong defeat Big Bubba Ottman & BaronVon Raschke as Ron Wright’s interference backfired and it was actually Wright who got hit with the Jawbreaker. Rich then connected with the the piledriver on Raschke for the win. NWA NATIONAL TAG TITLE: The Midnight Express with Cornette defeated The Southern Boys when Buddy Landell came out and tripped up Smothers which allowed Bobby Eaton 6 Man Tag Match: The Road Warriors & The Ultimate Warrior defeated Devastation Inc (Steve “Dr. Death” Williams, the Barbarian and the Warlord) with Skandar Akbar as the Warrior caught the Warlord with the Warrior Smash. One thing that was evident here was that Dr. Death and the Barbarian are going to be a serious threat to the Road Warriors and the UWF title! UWF CONTINENTAL TITLE MATCH: (Loser Must Wear a Dress) Wahoo McDaniel defeats Dick Slater by DQ as Slater got caught with the Brass Knuckles in his trunks. Slater was fuming at the ref and refused to put on the dress. Wahoo picked up the brass knuckles, clocked Slater and put the dress on the champ! Wahoo then dragged a dress -wearing Slater all the way back to the locker room!
  2. Fun show here with so much happening. Matt Borne is at it again I also thought the sow started off with three big matches. I will admit that the only one I picked right was Lord Humongous and that is what makes Lutte so fun! Dirty Rhodes could be a nice addition here as Smith was very underrated. The Vachons and Benoit really seem to be doing the Canadian contingency proud!
  3. The best compliment I can give is that I would not miss an episode of the AWA right now! You have everything you need to keep the fans on the edge of their seats and your writing style makes it a pleasure to read!
  4. The Omni show was great! What a card. Snuka with the win would really get the crowd going even if he didn't fly. Fuller and Golden are a nice choice to be the US champs as they will do a great job getting some heat from all over the Mid-Atlantic. Even if Mil Mascaras won't sell for anyone, he is great showcase and the crowd won't be getting an popcorn during his match. A Rich/Sawyer match is always fun I must say I was rooting for Terry Taylor against Prichard as if he lost, he would have to leave MACW and the UWF sounds like a great home for him. If this was the NFL, I might be in trouble for tampering here. and the Funk turn no becomes classic! As would any match with Martel and Race. Great, Great show
  5. I enjoyed your recent set of shows. I know you don't do too many interviews but with Piper, it makes us all do it and you did a great job. A minor point but I thought your jobber names were great! I am glad to see Saito getting some major time.
  6. Simmons, Black Irish and Bigelow could really get the Japanese crowd going. If you keep using guys like that, our North American promotions and your Japanese promotions could really run some major wars!
  7. Wild West continues to do a great job of developing talent for WCCW.
  8. WRESTLING: 3/15/1986 TUPELO, MISSISSIPPI THE SPORTS ARENA The following are notes by Bill Apter who was in attendance for both Crossfire and Power Pro NWA CHAMPION RICK MARTEL VS UWF CHAMPION NIKITA KOLOFF Rick Martel was on the show tonight hyping up his World Title Match this Monday in the Mid-South Coliseum against none other than UWF Champion Nikita Koloff. Nikita and Ivan interrupted the interview and forced Lance Russell to show the video tape from last week’s match between Nikita and Jerry “the King” Lawler where for the second time in two weeks, Nikita defeated the King cleanly. Ivan reminds Martel that the last time he was in the UWF, he could not beat Jerry Lawler and that come this Monday we will see both the stupid Americans and the stupid Canadians crying as Nikita will crush Martel and be both the NWA and UWF Champion! Martel becomes sick of this talk and challenges Nikita to a match right now and heads to the ring. Nikita is more than happy to follow and we get two minutes of a wild brawl in which we see Martel duck under the Russian Sickle and come off with a crossbody block. Before the ref can even count to 1, Ivan hits the ring and the Russians do some boot stomping on the Champ. A commercial break was needed to restore order. WAHOO McDANIEL VS COWBOY DON BASS Wahoo McDaniel has a pretty good match tonight against Cowboy Don Bass that saw it turn into a big brawl where Wahoo went on the War Path and tomahawk chopped his way to victory. At the interview desk, we see a video tape from last week’s Continental Title Match from the Omni where Wahoo and champion “Dirty” Dick Slater had their match in a double count-out as they brawled all over the arena. We are informed that the UWF has sanctioned a rematch between the two for this week in the Boutwell Auditorium in Birmingham. Wahoo McDaniel spends the next minute or two surprisingly praising Dick Slater and how tough he is. He goes over to the ring and grabs a box he had stashed before his match with Don Bass and says he has a gift for Slater because he has such respect for his toughness. He continues to praise Slater as a Man’s Man and wants Slater to come out. Eventually Slater does come out but he is very cautious of Wahoo and his gift. Slater shakes the box, smells the box and does his best to figure out what is inside. Eventually Slater opens the “gift” and pulls out a dress. Wahoo McDaniel: Just a little something to show you what I think of your fighting ability. Slater is fuming and comes after Wahoo but he is so mad, he is swinging wildly and misses each time. Wahoo however doesn’t miss and chops Slater with some big overhand rights. Slater eventually goes down and Wahoo has a great laugh as he puts the dress on “Dirty” Dick. TONY ATLAS VS MIKE GRAHAM Even though Graham cannot match the power of Atlas, he is a good bumper and the match has a lot of juice. One distraction by Ernie Ladd was all it took to push Atlas over the top. While Lance Russell was amazed that Graham did not submit to the Bearhug, he could not kick out after the Gorilla Press Slam. Atlas and Ladd are joined by the rest of the Nation of Domination at the interview desk where we see the video of the final moments of Reed’s rematch with Lex Luger for the Southern States title that ended in a victory for Lex. The video showed an attempted trip by Ladd on Luger and then the ref admonishing him for his actions. This gave Baby Doll all the time she needed as the Perfect 10 came in and hit Reed with a low blow. Luger followed it up Lex Plex for the victory. Reed and Ladd were both furious at Baby Doll for getting involved but Lance tried to remind Ladd that he started it. All of a sudden Jerry Jarrett comes out and informs lets everyone know that the Nation of Domination will be getting another shot at Luger and the Southern States titles. Hacksaw Reed begins to let everyone know what he will do to Luger this time when Jarrett interrupts by saying that this week in the Mid-South Coliseum it will be Lex Luger vs Tony Atlas. Reed looks shocked but doesn’t know what to say. Ladd quickly shifts gears and acts like Atlas is the Man of the Nation of Domination. Could there be trouble in Paradise for this hated group? ROCK n ROLL EXPRESS VS TOM STONE & KEN MITCHELL The crowd explodes at the first chord of Rock n Roll All Night as the beloved team has been away for a while. A rather smooth 4 minute match here that sees the famous double dropkick for the victory. At the interview desk, Morton and Gibson announce that they are glad to be back in the UWF and waste no time in calling out the NWA National Champs, the Midnight Express, as they say that Cornette and his tactics are one of the big reasons they are back in the area. The let Lance know that they have been watching on TV and they just can’t take Cornett’s actions any longer. Later in the show, after a nice showcase victory by The Midnight Express over the Dixie Dynamites, Cornette, Eaton and Condrey all take turns claiming that the Rock n Roll Express have to earn an NWA National title shot. TOMMY RICH VS BUDDY LANDEL Landel, one of the Hollywood Blondes, comes into the ring in a fancy robe and sunglasses looking all dapper. His arrogance quickly turns to the scarred heel and Wildfire takes the early advantage. Landell gets to wrestle from the top for a few minutes before Rich makes the comeback and is on the verge of victory after the Lou Thesz Press. Before the ref completes the 3 count, the other Hollywood Blondes, Rip Oliver and Rip Rogers hit the ring. After a few minutes of the 3-1 attack, Landell goes for his latest signature heel move, the Tar and Feathering of Wildfire. Lance is in shock as young Jeff Jarrett has seen enough and leaves the interview desk to save Wildfire. The Hollywood Blondes simply tossed Rich through the ropes to the floor and changed their foe to Jarrett. Jarrett doesn’t have a chance in the World here as the Blondes quickly Tar and Feather the boss’s son. Wrestlers rush out too late as the Blondes escape and Jeff is flat on his back looking like a giant chicken! After a commercial break, Tommy Rich is at the interview desk fuming. He wants the Hollywood Blondes at in a match right now. A kind of cleaned up Jeff comes out and says that he is grateful for the help but he needs to fight his own battles. His father comes out and tries to have Jeff understand he is too young for this business but Jeff is having nothing to do with it. Finally, we find out that it will be Jeff Jarrett vs Buddy Landell this week in the Mid-South Coliseum. THE UWF TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS, THE ROAD WARRIORS DESTROY THE MEMPHIS BRUISE BROTHERS (PORKCHOP CASH & MAD DOG BOYD) At the interview desk, Animal, Hawk and Ellering take turns explaining how they have had trouble sleeping since the Crockett Cup and can’t stop thinking about what they will do to the NWA Tag Champions, Ole & Arn Anderson when they get their hands on them. BIG BUBBA OTTMAN WITH RON WRIGHT DESTROYS KING BROWN IN LESS THAN 1 MINUTE WITH A GIANT SPLASH Ron Wright is so excited with the signing of his new 400 pounder that he can barely contain himself. He now claims that with Big Bubba and Baron Von Raschke he can’t be stopped and he will soon rid the UWF of the Unchristian Armstrongs. He seems pleased that Steve Armstrong already seems to be gone! THE ULTIMATE WARRIOR WITH PAUL ELLERING DEFEATS THE MASKED AVENGER (Ed Wiskowski) WITH THE WARRIORS SMASH! EXOTIC ADRIAN STREET WITH MISS. LINDA PRANCES HIS WAY TO VICTORY OVER IRON MIKE SHARPE WITH THE SLEEPER. When the ref demands that he wake up Iron Mike he seems disgusted by Iron Mike and doesn’t want to touch him. Miss. Linda sprays Sharpe with the perfume and then Adrian slaps him back to this world. At the interview desk, we get a little insight into Exotic Adrian as he seems to be a fan favorite as he claims to be much better looking than any of the Hollywood Blondes. STEVE “DR. DEATH WILLIAMS & THE BARBARIAN WITH SKANDAR AKBAR VS RON WHIPWRECK & AL DILLENGER While Dr. Death appears to have two black eyes and a bandage on one hand and another on his ribs, this is one of the scariest tag teams the UWF has seen to date as Devastation Inc completely runs over their opponents. From the football tackle on Whipwreck to the diving headbutt on Dillenger, these two were lucky to walk out of the ring. At the interview desk, Akbar is all over the UWF officials for allowing a Lights Out Match last week against Terry Gordy. We see a quick tape of the end of the match where we get a bit of a Rocky scene with each man landing haymaker after haymaker. As the bell rings signaling a time limit draw, both men, bloodied, just collapse in the center of the ring. After the tape, Dr. Death is next to get on the UWF officials for allowing Gordy to interfere in his title match which now has resulted in a 6 month ban from singles title matches. Williams quickly changes focus and now he is excited because the UWF has never seen a tag team like Dr. Death and the Barbarian and they will not stop until they take the tag titles from the Road Warriors. Any thoughts on the format. I was and will be pressed for time for a bit.
  9. I agree with all. The Sammartino angle is fun to follow and I am interested to see where it goes.
  10. The Funk turn was great and should be a great one of the best feuds in the game to date!
  11. UWF adds Mike Graham and Bob Roop and will place them in a jobber pack with DJ Peterson. Bob Roop is set to retire on May 15th.
  12. UWF sends Dirty White Boy to WCCW for DJ Peterson
  13. UWF has the Dirty White Boy on the block
  14. Shelby, NC got a real treat here but nothing like the show at the Omni! Can't wait. This is perfect Southern Rastlin!
  15. Terry Gordy is on a roll of late!
  16. 3/8/1986 KINGSPORT, TENNESSEE Hello again everybody. Welcome to Power Pro Wrestling, a UWF Production coming to you from the Civic Center in Kingsport, Tennessee. I am Jim Ross and my partner is Cowboy Bill Watts. Well folks, you saw some of the highlights from the Crockett Cup earlier on Crossfire. Well for those of you who were not in New Orleans and saw the highlights of Jerry Lawler losing the UWF title and the Midnight Express winning the NWA National Tag Titles and thought it could not get any worse. You were wrong. Take a look at this. A Video of the Every-Man For Himself Continental Title Match between Dick Slater, Hacksaw Duggan and Dr. Death Steve Williams. Before this one gets started, Jim Ross reminds us what is at stake. The winner gets the title, the loser must leave the UWF and the one not involved in the outcome cannot have any singles title matches in the UWF for the next 6 months! As you would expect, this is a wild brawl from the beginning to the end. With the actions of Dirty Dick Slater over the past few weeks, there are no alliances during this contest. It is truly every man for themselves. We go about 15 minutes of chaos before the ref gets wholloped by an arrant football tackle by Duggan going after Dr. Death. The ref goes all the way to the floor as Slater grabs an injured Dr. Death and tosses him to the floor on the other side. Jim Ross: Oh baw Gawd! What is he doing here. Terry Gordy rushes to the ring and scoops up Dr. Death and gives him a piledriver on the cement flood. He then enters the ring as Slater grabs Duggan. Bam Bam with a huge kick to the gut doubles over Duggan. An Irish whip followed by a big Terry Grody powerslam has Duggan in serious trouble. As the ref begins to stagger to his feet, Slater comes off the ropes for a taped fist drop to the skull of Duggan. Slater covers him just as the ref gets back in the ring, 1… 2… 3. Jim Ross is in shock as Slater is the new Continental Champion and Hacksaw Duggan must leave the UWF! Terry Gordy wastes no time and heads out of the ring and continues his attack on Dr. Akbar actually puts a stop to this as he whacks Gordy with a chair. In fact, this only changed who Gordy was after as he now chased Akbar all the way up the ramp to the locker room. When the video is over both Dick Slater and Terry Gordy come to the interview desk where Jim Ross wants to get to the bottom of all of this. Dick Slater: Well Jim, as I told all of you when I first got to the UWF, I was the #1 free agent in the game today and I was here to make money and win titles. Well, it’s obvious I am doing both. Jim Ross: That is not what I meant. What is the connection between you and Bam Bam Terry Gordy? Dick Slater: I did not even know I had a relationship with Bam Bam until he showed up in the locker room at the Crockett Cup. Last week, I told you that I had received a couple of envelops with cash in them. The first was from Skandar Akbar to help his man, Dr. Death, against Hacksaw. The second, which was labeled Mr. B, I thought was from Bill Watts to help Duggan defeat Dr. Death. As you can see, I don’t care who I help as long as I am paid for it. Jim Ross: I still don’t get it. Terry Gordy: Let me help out a bit here. As you remember, a while back, Dr. Death, Many Fernandez and myself were the UWF 6 Man Title holders until Steve Williams turned on Manny and myself. Well I have never forgiven him for that. A Freebird has a long memory and it doesn’t matter how long it takes for us to collect our debts, we always get what we want. The money given to Slater from Mr. B was me. Mr. Bam Bam Terry Gordy! And since Dick Slater here did such a good job of helping my get the belt out of William’s hands, I thought I would help him win the title at the Crockett Cup. Dr. Death rushes out and is fuming mad and wants a piece of Terry Gordy but officials and wrestlers rush out to try and keep the peace but as we have seen a million times before, no amount of man power could keep these two separate and the brawl took us to commercial break. One interesting thing was that Slater simply walked back and took no interest in the matter. COMMERCIAL When we come out of break, Jim Ross lets know that due to all of the confusion in the first segment, he did not get to tell us about tonight’s two great Main Events. First, it will be Wahoo McDaniel vs Buddy Landell and the winner will get to face Dirty Dick Slater in his first title defense this week in the Omni and second The Long Riders will face The Southern Boys (Steve Armstrong & Tracy Smothers) to become the #1 contender to the Road Warriors UWF Tag Titles. MATCH SCOTT HALL DEFEATS HOMER DELL WITH A BACKBREAKER RACK MATCH DICK MURDOCH & JYD DEFEAT THE MEMPHIS BRUISE BROTHERS WHEN JYD HIT A BIG THUMP ON PORKCHOP CASH. JYD and Murdoch share time on the mic about their match this week against Tony Atlas and Shaska Whatley. They both express how they are really angered about the message that the Nation of Domination is trying to spread and that while they respect Atlas and Whatley as wrestlers, it is time to shut them up once and for all. COMMERCIAL MATCH THE ULTIMATE WARRIOR WITH PAUL ELLERING DEFEATS COWBOY DON BASS WITH THE WARRIOR SMASH Maybe because of his energy or maybe because of his good relationship with the Road Warriors, the fans are starting to get behind the Warrior. He is very accepting of their praise and was high fiving all the fans on the way to the locker room. COMMERCIAL MATCH #1 CONTENDEERD MATCH WAHOO McDANIEL VS BUDDY LANDELL A nice match here with a couple of momentum changes. The end came when Landell tried to mix it up with Wahoo who then went on the War Dance and Tomahawk Chopped Landell into a pin. Just as we find out that Wahoo is the #1 contender for Dick Slater’s Continental Title, Hustler Rip Roger and Crippler Rip Oliver hit the ring and really rough up Wahoo. After a good couple of minutes of the attack, Landell, Oliver and Rogers head to the interview desk where they announce that together, they are going to soon control the UWF! They also announce that they are so good looking, they should be in Hollywood hence their new nickname of the Hollywood Blondes. COMMERCIAL Before our last match, we find out that Dr. Death Steve Williams and Terry “Bam Bam” Gordy will meet in a Lights Out Street Fight” this week in the Omni. The reason for the lights out portion was because the UWF refused to sanction this match as they truly fear for the safety of both men and they do not want to be held responsible for what happens. MATCH #1 CONTENDERS MATCH THE LONG RIDERS VS THE TEXAS TORNADOS (Sam Houston & Kendell Windham) While the Tornados are in the ring awaiting the Long Riders, everyone is a bit shocked that when the Long Riders are announced, Ron Bass and Black Bart come out. They attack before the bell and really give it to the Tornados. As the Tornados begin to mount a comeback, both Bass and Bart roll out of the ring and grab their bullwhips and attack Houston and Windham. Even though the ref called for the bell, the fans were in shock at how violent Bass and Bart where. As the show begins to close, Ross is still in shock that it was Bass and Bart who came out as the Long Riders. I guess we will just have to wait till next week to find out what is going on. Jim Ross: So long from Kingsport.
  17. The Tully-Rougeau angle was really well done as was the Adonis segment. Lutte is doing a great job of getting the Canadian fans through winter!
  18. Now that was a great and expensive card!
  19. Great job progressing all of your major angles. Sullivan and the Larry Z/Bockwinkle have really captured my attention
  20. 3/8/1986 KINGSPORT, TENNESSEE Hello everybody. Welcome to Crossfire a UWF Wrestling production. We are coming to you from the Civic Center in Kingsport, Tennessee. I am Lance Russell and my partner today is Jeff Jarrett. What a show we got for you today but before we get to it, we have so much to review for you from the Jim Crockett Sr. Cup last week in New Orleans. Jeff Jarrett: That’s right Lance and none of it good if you ask me. Let’s get to the awful video tape. UWF TITLE MATCH JERRY “THE KING” LAWLER VS “THE RUSSIAN NIGHTMARE” NIKITA KOLOFF Jerry “the King” Lawler does everything he could here to handle Nikita but it was a difficult task. Nikita, with his power, takes an early advantage and it looks like we may have a new champ. Then we get the comeback as Lawler begins to no sell each and every move Nikita does. Finally, we see the strap pulled down on Lawler’s singlet and the King goes to work. After he throws a dozen or so right hands, he scoops up Nikita and slams him to the ground. He quickly goes to the middle rope and hits the middle rope fist drop. The King now has Nikita up for the piledriver… Wham… Nikita reverses it with the back body drop. The King staggers to his feet and Nikita hits the ropes Wham… Russian Sickle and the ground instantly goes silent. 1… 2… 3.! Lance Russell: Well Jeff, I guess we all hoped this day would never come but Nikita Koloff is the new UWF Champion. Ivan and Nikita come out and Uncle Ivan takes over the interview. Ivan Koloff: We warned all of you stupid Americans that once Nikita gets Jerry Lawler in the ring, he will crush him and take his title. We have been telling you this for almost 2 months after the King of the Mountain Battle Royal and now all of you stupid Americans will have to watch week in and week out as Nikita cripples one weak American after the other. Jeff Jarrett: No hold on just a minute Ivan Koloff. While Nikita did win last week, “the King” will get his rematch this week and I know he is going to win back that title in Nashville. Ivan Koloff: Hahahahaha. Do you stupid Americans ever learn? Lawler will be beaten once and for all! The UWF Title now belongs to mother Russia. COMMERCIAL Lance informs us that the UWF was really well represented at the Crockett Cup as two of our very own teams, the Road Warriors and the Midnight Express met in the finals. Before we even see the video tape, we hear Jim Cornette’s voice on another mic. Jim Cornette: Ladies and gentlemen, put your hands together for the greatest tag team in wrestling today, the National Tag Team Champions, Beautiful Bobby and Loverboy Denis….. the Midnight Express! Lance Russell: Oh brother! Let’s take it easy with that greatest talk. I mean why don’t you tell the fans how you won and not just that you won. Jim Cornette: How we won was fair and square. A clean 1,2, 3 in the middle of the ring. Lance Russell: We will let the fans decide just how clean it was. Let’s get to the video tape. JIM CROCKETTT SR. MEMORIAL TAG TEAM CUP FINALS THE ROAD WARRIORS with PAUL ELLERING VS THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS WITH JIM CORNETTE The Midnight Express are huddled in the corner looking very nervous as the Road Warriors head to the ring. Jim Ross: Watch Out! Ole and Arn Anderson come up from behind the Road Warriors and take their knees out with some sort of clubs. From there, the Wrecking Crew just goes wild on the Road Warriors. The Midnight Express just watch on in shock as they see their chances of winning the money and the belt skyrocket! Eventually, refs and officials rush out and get the Anderson’s away but the damage may already be done. In fact it was, the Road Warriors gave a valiant effort but with injuries to their knees, they almost all of their power moves. Eventually the Midnight Express wore down Animal and Hawk and the end saw the Midnight Express get the win as Condrey covered Animal after he connected with some sort of full nelson face slam! Cornette could not believe it as he celebrated like he just beat the Road Warriors. The crowd left in shock as they saw Slater, Nikita and the Midnight Express win all the big matches tonight. Lance Russell: Well you all saw it. You beat the Road Warriors after a disgusting pre-match attack by the NWA World Champions, Ole and Arn Anderson. Also, just to let you know, the NWA has looked into the match and declared that the Road Warriors are the #1 contender’s to your belts. Jim Cornette: First of all, the Anderson’s better watch out for us as we are coming after their belts next and as for the Road Warriors, we squashed them like little bugs last week and we will do the same the next time. All of a sudden, the Road Warriors come out and Cornette and the Midnight Express change their tune and look like they just saw a ghost. Animal: Well Cornette, lucky for you we aint playing around with some little NWA National Tag Team titles. Hawk and I have built our reputations on being the best and we aint going waist our time on you two sissy boys! Tell um what we want Hawk! Hawk: Weeeellll, we want one thing and one thing only. We want to hurt the Andersons. That’s right Ole and Arn. We are going to do to you what we are about to do to these two losers in the ring. We are going to really hurt you. You cost us $1,000,000 and we are going to take it out of your hides. We are coming for you! As the Road Warriors head to the ring, Lance Russell asks Cornette if he is relieved the Road Warriors are not coming after their belts and Cornette acting all tough again reminds everyone that the Midnight Express just beat the Road Warriors. MATCH THE ROAD WARRIORS NEARLY KILL MIKE GEORGE & DON BASS AS BOTH ARE HIT WITH THE DOOMSDAY DEVICE. THE MATCH TOOK LESS THAN 1 MINUTE. COMMERCIAL MATCH: HACKSAW BUTCH REED WITH ERNIE LADD DEFEATS KEN RAPER WITH A MILITARY PRESS SLAM At the interview desk, Reed is fuming about losing his Southern States titles last week in the Superdome and he is demanding a rematch against Lex Luger this week in the Omni. After hearing him ranting for a minute or two, Jerry Jarrett comes out and tells the Nation of Domination that they will have another shot at the Southern title this week in Nashville. Ernie Ladd: Well it is about time that the UWF did something right and this match better not be in any cage. Hacksaw Reed is the Man around here and is not some kind of wild animal who should be inside of 4 walls of steel! Jerry Jarrett: Mr. Ladd, as much as you think that the Nation of Domination run things around here, it is not true. Cowboy Bill Watts and myself set the matches and we both agree that Lex Luger and Hacksaw Butch Reed will decide the Southern States Champion in a regular, old fashion Wrestling Match this week at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds in Nashville! Ernie Ladd has the biggest smile and you can already see that he is thinking this will give him and the rest of the Nation a chance to get involved and help his man. Jerry Jarrett: But to make sure this is a fair, 1-1 match, the other members of your gang, Tony Atlas and Shaska Whatley will be wrestling 300 miles away against JYD and Dick Murdoch in the Omni in Atlanta, Georgia! If they don’t show, they will be suspended from the UWF! And to make sure you behave Ernie Ladd, you will be the one placed inside a steel cage, suspended 30 feet above the ring! Ladd is beside himself but Jarrett simply walks away as they continue to pout. MATCH TOMMY RICH DEFEATS IRON MIKE SHARPE WITH A LOU THESZ PRESS MATCH EXOTIC ADRIAN STREET WITH MISS. LINDA DEFEATS VERLON BIGGS WITH A SLEEPER Lance Russell, Jeff Jarrett and even the fans did not know what to make of Adrian in his UWF debut. From his makeup, dancing entrance, being sprayed with perfume by Linda and actually kissing Biggs, he had everyone a little uneasy but he seemed pretty harmless. A couple of thigs were clear, he can really wrestle and if you want to mix up, he is just fine with this. COMMERCIAL MATCH BARON VON RASCHKE WITH RON WRIGHT DEFEATS DIXIE DYNAMITE #1 WITH THE IRON CLAW Tonight’s show ends with Wright’s Volunteer Army hijacking the interview area and welcoming Baron to their group with some disgusting actions including draping the Nazi flag over the interview desk as they salute Baron. Ron Wright is so excited to welcome another true “Christian” wrestler to his group!
  21. Great set up for next week! That will keep selling the tickets.
  22. UWF adds Nikita Koloff, Lex Luger, Hacksaw Reed and 1 mystery guest to be announced soon.
  23. While each of us have a different style of writing, your storytelling is so easy to follow that it is a pleasure to read. You make each of your matches seem like the most important thing in the entire industry. From Larry Z and Bock to Black Irish to the Snake, the AWA is on fire.
  24. What an up and down night for the fans! Rocky Johnson with the win.... American made falls to the Communist..... Tully Blanchard.... Jimmy Snuka.... Ric Flair! What a great great ROLL A COASTER!
