The following information was leaked to all of the major newspapers from Texas to Georgia. CEASE-AND-DESIST ORDER I, Jake Brigance, the famed Civil Rights Lawyer from Clayton, Mississippi, under the guidance of Mid-South Revolution Wrestling and their founder, Ernest Ladd, have petitioned and been granted a Cease-And-Desist Order by the 11th Circuit Court of the United States in Atlanta, Georgia against the Universal Wrestling Federation for their use of images and likenesses of current employees of Mid-South Revolution Wrestling. On the August 8th, 1987 episode of the Power Hour, airing from the Sportatorium in Dallas, Texas, the show begin with a montage of wrestling stars. These stars included Michael Hayes, “Buzz” Sawyer, Ms. Dark Journey, Nikita Koloff and Ivan Kolff. All of the above-named wrestlers are currently employed by Mid-South Revolution Wrestling and not the Universal Wrestling Federation. Not only is the use of this montage false advertising, but it was also never cleared with Mr. Ladd. If Mr. Watts does not immediately stop airing the stars of Mid-South on his television show, we will be forced to take this matter to court. If I was able to get Carl Lee Hailey, a black man, who shot a police officer in the Clayton Court House in front of hundreds of witnesses off, imagine what I will do to your company Bill Watts. I hope it does not come to this. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Again Straightedge, Just part of an angle that I had planned before you joined. No hard feelings. Keep airing your montage. It was cool.

The Boutwell Auditorium Birmingham, Alabama August 8, 1987 Rick Steiner with Missy Hyatt defeats “Rufus “Night Train” Jones with a German Suplex Tom Prichard defeats Moondog Rex when he connected with a powerbomb after Moondog Rex swung and missed a knockout blow with his dog bone. Match of the Undefeateds The Spoiler defeated Ray “The Crippler” Stevens with Ron Wright by DQ as the Spoiler had the Iron Claw locked in on Ray Stevens when another masked man rushed the ring and came off the top rope with a diving knee drop. Wright, Stevens and the masked man gave Spoiler a pretty good beating after the ref called for the belt. Spot in the Ted Turner Cup on the Line Buzz & Brett Sawyer vs Eddie & Doug Gilbert with Missy Hyatt Buzz Sawyer hit the frog splash on Doug Gilbert for the win while Eddie and Missy were dealing with Bret on the outside of the ring. Tully Blanchard with Dark Journey defeated Scott Armstrong with the slingshot suplex 6 Man Tag Match The Nightmares vs The Lightening Express & a mystery partner Only in Alabama could this mystery partner be a big deal but with his Continental Championship Wrestling time, Johhny Rich really got the fans off their seats here when his name was announced. In the end, we were going bonzo-gonzo with all 6 men in the ring when Johnny Rich nailed Nightmare #3 with a dropkick to the face after #3 loaded his mask. The dropkick combined with the metal in the mask sent #3 for a loop and Rich got the easy pin. Texas Tornado Match The Freebirds vs The Commonwealth Just like the last match, we get a crazy 6 man bout where action is all over the arena. In the end, Buddy Roberts had the Commonwealth flagpole broken over his head by Boyd and Boyd got the win! Lights Out-Falls Count Anywhere Match Wahoo McDaniel, JYD & vs Ivan & Nikita Koloff This match turned into an impromptu 6-man bout after Vladimir Petrov interfered which led to Dr. Death rushing in. In the end, we see JYD Thump Uncle Ivan for the win. The fan favorites were standing in the ring while the Russians were on the outside thinking of one last attack. As soon as the Russians got up on the apron, they were all knocked back down to the floor. The interesting thing here was that it was Dr. Death who went right after Nikita!

Nice job this week with the NWA. The interview was great with Landel but he is in Flair country now and whatever happened in the AWA might not mean much at all here. Looking forward to finding out!

I never thought I would say this but because of you, Larry Z is becoming one of my favorites in the game. His one-liners are classic Larry Z... from Spudhead to toy soldier, I was all in. From the Glamour Boys to Hickerson/Brooks to Vin Man and Kelly to Madril and Zenk, you are the master of the midcard! I think you and Rain do a great job of finding an important role for everyone on your roster! Combine those midcarders with all the stars and the huge Memphis type feuds and you got a money making machine. While I never knew about the MId-South Coliseum as a kid, from what I read and watched about it, it was to Memphis fans what the Omni was to Georgia fans. I love when you put your big shows there. To me, this just adds to the excitement. I remember Gene once saying that the venues in our game were underrated and shows could take place on the moon in our fictional game. I see his point but I also like the nostalgia of the old time buildings as we try to relive our past! Looking forward to your version of WarGames! I think Bad News hit the nail on the head. Oliver has no shot! Onto Louisville! Very well booked card! Steamboat and Bad News get stronger to set up their title match at the Coliseum. The chaos of the Iaukea/Polynesian Power 6 Man tag match was expected and needed! The other 6 man match with Madril/Taylor/Bullet/Keirn etc... was really well done where the only way the heels could get the win was with some questionable tactics! Great Job!!

Love the format. I use something similar to this all the time. It keeps things moving and the angles all get developed. Not only does it save time for the writer, but it is such an easy read, it is fun for the reader. Great job. Really wondering what will happen between Borne and Rotunda. Millionaires always need an accountant! Like Bruno's gang of misfits coming after Luger. It reminds of Lawler and Jimmy Hart in Memphis. This could work forever. Duggan-Vader-Murdoch is a great feud where I think we could expect the unexpected! Duggan better be on his toes and get some help! Scott Rex is back. I think this could get very interesting! I heard Ernie Ladd is loving the UWF but he will never admit it!

August 6th Episode #5 The Show starts with a montage set to techno music with the video coming from matches from this past week at The Centroplex in Baton Rouge. We see “The Crippler” Ray Stevens piledriving Mike Jackson, the Spoiler walking the top rope with Moondog Rex in tow, The Nightmares walking out of the arena with a third masked man with them while Tim Horner has a crimson masked of his own in the ring, Bill Kazmaier hitting the Canadian Sickle on Rotten Ron Starr, Dark Journey spraying something in the eyes of Porkchop Cash followed by Tully hitting the sling shot suplay, Buzz Sawyer being pushed off the top rope by Missy Hyatt as he went for the frog splash, Michael Hayes hitting the bulldog on Jonathan Boyd inside a steel cage as the rest of the Freebirds and the Sheepherders brawled on the outside of the cage and Junkyard Dog hitting the Thump on Ivan Koloff inside the steel cage. Problem was that when the ref opened the cage door, Vladimir Petrov rushed the ring and locked the door behind him. Now the three Russians brutally went to work in JYD and Wahoo. After the beating was done, Ivan pulled out that one feather Wahoo had given him from his Native American Headdress last week and stuck it in Wahoo’s mouth. When Nikita was heading back to the locker room, he picked up Wahoo’s entire headdress and put it on his head. The fans in Houston were trashing the Russians on their walk back to the locker room! Gordon Solie: Thank you so very, very much indeed to another week of Mid-South Revolution Wrestling. I am Gordon Solie, and it is my pleasure to be coming to you tonight from the Houston County Farm Center in Dothan, Alabama. What a night it was this past Monday in the Sam Houston Coliseum. As you just saw, the Nightmares went above and beyond dirty in their match with the Lightening Express. There seems to be 3 Nightmares now and all three seemed to be involved in the match. Also, the Russians strike again. After JYD got the win as he and Wahoo defeated the Koloffs, Vladimir Petrov came to the ring and things got bad in a hurry. Thank goodness, Wahoo McDaniel and JYD are okay as the Freebirds came out and saved the day. I want to bring out JYD and Wahoo to discuss the incident from the Sam Houston Coliseum. Wahoo and JYD come out rolling a huge box on a dolly… Gordon Solie: Gentlemen, I was sure my first question was going to be how you are feeling but I must ask you, What’s in the box! Wahoo McDaniel: First of all Gordon, JYD and I are just fine. In fact, we are proving the no matter what the Russians do, they can’t beat us. Dog beat Ivan two weeks ago in Baton Rouge and then Dog and I Thumped both Koloffs this past week in Houston. Each week, I have come out here and given the Russians a gift and each week Dog and I go out and beat them. This plan seems to be working so why stop now. Gordon, in the box is gift #3 and expect that that what is in this box will again put the Russians down…. Maybe for good. That being said, I would have hoped that this week, Ernie Ladd would have come out right when this show started and suspended the Russians for their violent attack in Houston, but we all know that’s not happening. So, this week, we are taking matters into our own hands. JYD: Gordon…. Ohhhhhhh……. Gordon, JYD is excited today. Wahoo has outdone himself. I admit that I am a bit of party animal and when Wahoo was talking to me about giving the Russians some gifts, I was all ears…. but when he gave them a yellow belt and a feather, I was thinking those are some boring gifts. (Solie has a smile on his face) Now this week, he got something that might actually make Petrov and those Koloffs think about how great life is in Mother Russia. Gordon Solie: Fans, I must admit, I am very intrigued but Wahoo’s latest gift to the Russians and we will find out a little later on what is in the box! We here at Mid-South Revolution Wrestling just keep on rolling and we have a great show for you tonight. The Nightmares will be action. Rick Steiner will be taking on Porkchop Cash. Dr. Tom Prichard will be making his Revolution debut. Ray Stevens will be in action. Terry Gordy will be in singles action tonight taking on the leader of the Commonwealth, Jonathan Boyd and in the main event, Bill Kazmaier will be getting another shot at Tully Blanchard! All that and much, much more! Our time keeper is ready so let the action begin. MATCH The Nightmares with an extra Nightmare at ringside defeat Bill Tab and Allen Martin with questionable tactics. Post-match interview: Gordon Solie: Gentlemen, I think you have some explaining to do on what happened this past Monday in the Sam Houston Coliseum. It appears that Tim Horner had you just where he wanted you and as the video tape shows, it looks like a fresh Nightmare #3, if you will, rolled back in the ring with a loaded mask and headbutted Tim Horner for the win! Nightmare Danny Davis: Gordon, you got one thing right. There are 3 Nightmares. There are 3 of us who are going to turn Revolution Wrestling upside down. There are 3 of us who are going to ride that Freebird rule all the way to the Revolution Tag Titles at the Ted Turner Cup! Nightmare Ken Wayne: But where you are wrong is that you said it took some illegal tactics to beat those chumps Brad Armstrong and Tim Horner. We could beat those two with our eyes closed and Nightmare #3 was just out to make sure that the Lightening Express didn’t do any funny business. Gordon Solie: Well, isn’t that calling the kettle black. Nightmare #3 Ted Allen: Gordon, when I do get involved in a match, Armstrong and Horner will know it and they won’t like it. Gordon Solie: In fact, we will get that opportunity this Monday in the Boutwell Auditorium as it will be you 3 Nightmares against Brad Armstrong, Tim Horner and a mystery partner! The Nightmares begin yelling how it is unfair about how Horner and Armstrong are hiding the identity of their partner and Solie just looks at the Nightmares and gives his standard “ah huh” answer and asks “which team is wearing the masks and who is hiding their identities?” COMMERCIAL BREAK-PROMOS FOR MONDAY @ THE BOUTWELL AUDITORIUM Before our next match, Ernie Ladd comes out for a quick interview. Ernie Ladd: Gordon, I think the wrestlers around here are finally getting it. They are figuring out that if they don’t like how their opponents are treating them, then do something about it. Wahoo McDaniel was right. I was not going to come out here and suspend the Koloffs for what they did in Houston. Wahoo, you are the one who keeps poking the bear so you better be able to face the bear. Russians, you keep playing the numbers game, you better be ready to handle what’s in this box. Nightmares, you want to do some funny business with your masks then don’t complain about the Lightening Express having a mystery partner! See Gordon, what’s fair for one is fair for all. Cowdung Watts over in the UWF should have learned that a long time ago instead of giving everything to his friends like he did. I will give Watts credit for something, he really knows how to put on a second rate show. In fact, I was at his big event in the Sportatorium and challenged him to a match but he, as we all know he would, he refused. What I did learn was that those fans in Dallas are starving for a good show. I mean they were cheering and booing their heads off the other night at a bad show. Imagine what they would do for a good show! That is why I decided to put the first night of the Ted Turner Cup right there in the Sportatorium. In fact, anyone who was at the last UWF show at the Sportatorium will get $2 off any ticket! I mean, I got to find a way to make up for what Watts did to those poor fans. (Don’t be angry Straightedge. Just an angle. I love what you have done with the UWF) Gordon Solie: As far as the Ted Turner Cup, it seems like teams are lining up for a chance at the Revolution Tag Titles and the $100,000. Ernie Ladd: That’s right Gordon. So far, we have JYD and Wahoo, The Koloffs, The Nightmares, The Freebirds, The Commonwealth, The Lightening Express and of international fame, The Hart Brothers from Canada! Teams are applying all time but we can only choose the best of the best! Fans don’t forget to support Revolution Wrestling in your area. We are still looking for the best fans in Revolution Wrestling to host the final night of The Ted Turner Cup. MATCH: Dr. Tom Prichard feats Larry Cheatem with the Gutwrench Powerbome A quick interview for Prichard where he thanks Gordon for welcoming him to Revolution Wrestling. Prichard goes on to explain that he was hesitant about coming to Revolution because he was a member of the Freebirds and he didn’t want to step on anybody’s toes when Terry Gordy rejoined the group. He goes on to say, “Once a Freebird, always a Freebird,” and that he and Michael talked, and they have agreed to have each other’s backs here in Revolution Wrestling. COMMERCIAL BREAK-PROMOS FOR MONDAY @ THE BOUTWELL AUDITORIUM Before our next match, Eddie Gilbert, Missy Hyatt, Rick Steiner and Doug Gilbert come out. Eddie and Missy are all smiles as they can’t believe how great it is to be them and not have to live like the rest of these people in Alabama. Gordon Solie: That will be enough of that. Missy Hyatt: Gordon, you now its true. In fact, the whole world knows it. Eddie and I are on fire right now. Eddie Gilbert: Gordon, did you see the latest cover of Pro Wrestling Illustrated? Gordon Solie: In fact, I did! Eddie Gilbert: Well then you know that my lady, Missy Hyatt, is the first female wrestling entrepreneur to be on the cover. You know why? She is not only the best but the Hottest! That’s right, the owners of Pro Wrestling Illustrated know how to make money! Put Missy on the cover and all these loser men are going to buy it and just dream about what I have! Gordon Solie: (Blushing) Fair enough! Missy Hyatt: That’s not all. I just met with Ernie Ladd and he has agree that it will be the Sawyer brothers against the Gilbert brothers this Monday in the Boutwell Auditorium where the winners get a spot in the Ted Turner Cup! Boys make sure to be there early. You never know what I will be wearing, and you’ll want to catch a glimpse! Gordon Solie: Oh Brother! Let’s get to the ring MATCH Rick Steiner with Missy Hyatt vs Porkchop Chop Porkchop does great here as Steiner has the power and technical advantages but the old vet has experience and the fans on his side. Unfortunately for Porkchop, Steiner also has Hyatt. One nonchalant trip on Cash by Hyatt is all Steiner needs as he finishes off Cash with a German Bridging Suplay! MATCH Ray “The Crippler” Stevens with Ron Wright defeats Zane Smith with the Piledriver A quick post-match to hype up the match between Stevens and the Spoiler at the Boutwell Auditorium. Gordon Solie: I can’t say that I condone the use of the piledriver Mr. Stevens, but I will see it is quite effective. Ron Wright: Now why on God’s green earth would we care what you condone Mr. Solie. It is our job to bring the sport back to us Christians and do a little good in the world. This Monday night, we are going to do a lot of good for the people of Birmingham as we are going to take out that unchristian Spoiler. I mean only a man who did something real bad has to hide behind a mask. Gordon Solie: I don’t know about that Mr. Wright but I do know that both your man, the Crippler and The Spoiler are undefeated since coming to Mid-South. Ray Stevens: Gordon your always full of information and opinions. The problem is half the time your wrong. You were correct that both the Spoiler and I are undefeated here which is all going to change when I piledrive Spoiler through the mat this Monday night, but you are wrong in questioning the use of my finishing move, the piledriver. Yes, it is dangerous. Yes I have hurt a lot of men. Yes, some never walk again but remember two things. This is professional wrestling and second, I am the Crippler. Spoiler, take me advice if you ever want to walk again… Don’t show up to Birmingham this Monday night. COMMERCIAL BREAK-PROMOS FOR MONDAY @ THE BOUTWELL AUDITORIUM MATCH Terry Gordy vs Jonathan Boyd No chance this doesn’t turn into an all-out brawl as Michael Hayes and Buddy Roberts come to the ring with Gordy while the Sheepherders accompany Boyd. The people not actually involved in the match are basically brawling on the outside of the ring before the timekeeper ever starts the match. Gordy and Boyd are all over each other in the ring. While the fans may not like him, you have to give Boyd some credit for going toe to toe with Gordy who has a pretty big size advantage on the leader of the Commonwealth. In the end, Boyd decides the best way to solve the problem is by clobbering Gordy with the flagpole he brought to the ring. Problem for Boyd is that Gordy is so fired up, he No Sells the hit, whips Boyd into the roped and catches him with a nasty powerslam for the win! When the match is over, Ivan and Nikita Koloff along with Vladimir Petrov come to the podium where Gordon reminds everyone that Wahoo has once again left a gift for the Russians. Ivan Koloff: Wahoo McDaniel, I don’t know what your deal is. You keep giving is these stupid gifts and we keep almost ending the careers of you and Junkyard Dog. Gordon Solie: Now waitaminute…. The crowd erupts as Wahoo and JYD walk out. Petrov immediately goes chest to chest with JYD. The fans are both excited and nervous. They want to see the brawl, but they know the Russians have the advantage. Wahoo McDaniel: Gordon, we just wanted to see the faces on our Russian friends here when they see my latest gift to them! I mean my yellow belt and Indian feather might not have gone over so well but I think what is in this box right here, will make Ivan and Company really understand what America is all about. Go ahead… open it. Ivan seems a little hesitant and sends Petrov to do it. Petrov shakes the box a little…. Looks at it from all angles…. And then for no reason at all starts to destroy the box. But the box seems to start to fight back if you will! Gordon Solie: I don’t believe what I’m seeing. From inside the box, it is Steve “Dr. Death” Williams and he is all over Petrov! Wahoo and JYD are duking it out with the Koloffs. Katie Bar the Door. This is a brawl like one other. Dr. Death has taken care of Petrov he is laying on the concrete floor like he has been run over by a mac truck. It is now the Americans that are doing a number on the Koloffs! It is Nita Koloff squared off one on one with Dr. Death…. Williams scoops up Nikita… Oklahoma Stampede on the Concrete! Wild, wild scene here at the Houston County Farm Center. We need some help out here. The locker room empties but there is no way to hold back Dr. Death. He goes from one Koloff to the other. He is like a man possessed! The only way to stop this is for Gordon to take us to commercial break. COMMERCIAL BREAK-PROMOS FOR MONDAY @ THE BOUTWELL AUDITORIUM As we come out of break, Gordon can’t help but review what we have just scene when suddenly, Tully Blanchard and Dark Journey come to the podium. Tully is about to face Strongman Bill Kazmier. Make no mistake about it, while Tully has one his previous matches with Kazmaier, he has been rather lucky, and he seems to have a genuine fear of the power of Kazmier. At least that has been what we have seen when the two have been face to face. Today seems a little different and Tully is talking about how he going to destroy Kazmaier in a few minutes and that Kazmaier is nothing more then an oversized idiot. Gordon tries to warn Tully about Kazmaier by rambling off a few of his feats of strength but Tully is full of arrogance today as he heads to the ring wondering if Kazmaier even has the guts to show up today. MAIN EVENT MATCH Tully Blanchard with Dark Journey vs “Strongman” Bill Kazmaier Tully is in the ring and has been announced but there is no Kazmaier. A few seconds goes on a still no Kazmaier. Tully starts shadow boxing with the crowd and doing all sorts of antics to get more heat. Still No Kazmaier. Tully starts yelling to the back for Kazmaier to get his big his big dumb butt to the ring. Still No Kazmaier. Tully and Dark Journey start doing the chicken dance all around the ring! Still No Kazmaier. Gordon Solie: Folks, I smell something rotten in Denmark. I’m not sure what has just happened but if I was a betting man, I would bet Tully Blanchard and Dark Journey had something to do wild Bill Kazmaier not being with us today. While I do hope he is okay, I want to guarantee you that Revolution Wrestling will get to the bottom of this. Folks sorry but we are out of time. Make sure if you are anywhere near Birmingham on Monday you head to the Boutwell Auditorium. It is going to be a heck of a show. So long from the Heart of Dixie THE BOUTWELL AUDITORIUM-BIRMINGHAM THIS MONDAY Rick Steiner with Missy Hyatt vs “Rufus “Night Train” Jones Tom Prichard vs Moondog Rex Match of the Undeatedes Ray “The Crippler” Stevens with Ron Wright vs The Spoiler Spot in the Ted Turner Cup on the Line Buzz & Brett Sawyer vs Eddie & Doug Gilbert with Missy Hyatt Tully Blanchard with Dark Journey vs Scott Armstrong 6 Man Tag Match The Nightmares vs The Lightening Express & a mystery partner Texas Tornado Match The Freebirds vs The Commonwealth Lights Out-Falls Count Anywhere Match Wahoo McDaniel, JYD & vs Ivan & Nikita Koloff

You have created such a balanced roster that no matter what type of wrestling you like, PCW has something to offer you. From the submission match of Backlund vs Hart to the hard hitting match between Paynne and Windham to the long technical battle between Malenko and Guerrero to the feud between Neidhart and the Knights of Templar, PCW is full of great talent and awesome matches/feuds. A great read as always!
-
Wow...4-4 Huge Event and we still get outside interference from Madril. Love all these stars. It gives you such roster flexibility. Throw in the Boot Camp Match and we got one heck of a house show! Great job!
-
Now that was a wild ride! Contracts being sold, heel turns, guest referees, crooked refs and a title change! That was very entertaining. I hope that we get more of Benoit/Embry. I think this is a great feud to build Benoit where he eventually goes over and becomes that big star! I am looking forward to seeing why Murdoch took the easy way out and turned heel. I like Danny Davis and the fast count! Corrupt officials always make things interesting and Borne got the advantage here. I wonder what Davis was thinking when Herc came after him. The main event was interesting as now we have both Vader and Murdoch coming after Lex! Should be fun. Vader will get some great experience here! The one thing that surprised me was seeing an injured Duggan win the title over Dibiase. It will be interesting to see how Million Dollar Ted comes back from this one. Fun show!
-
A lot of great angles going on here in Chicago. It is interesting how we all have different ways to display our promotions. You give us some cool match details and we get a great look into what is happening without the too many promos. I wonder if you had to pay a little extra to Blackjack to take a powerslam on the concrete floor from Kamala. That might be the reason he is retiring after this year.
-
Loving my weekly AWA reads! Your roster has so many of my favorites that I just can't get enough. The Glamour Boys and Hickerson/Brooks is such a contrast in styles that I am hooked. Wonder why Brooks has up his sleeve. Your promo of Larry Z was spot on. I could just hear him saying ever word. I used to find him so boring but now I think he is awesome! Perez might, as Larry said, be looking for a new home soon. To me Taylor and Keirn could do anything in wrestling and it wouldn't surprise me. They are both great as heels or babyfaces. They could be tag team champs , world champs or mid-carders. I think this feud is going to see who gets a push and who might be looking for a job. Bully is so over right now he could do anything. He is a great example of how this game is not just taking the stars of the 80's and making them the focus. We all get to put our spin on this and that is what makes it fun. No matter what the Bruise Brothers do, they are my favorite team. Poor Yoshiski!! Steamboat may be going after the belt but to me, your biggest angle is Bullet, Lawler, Idol, Wildfire and Dream. I think you did this perfect. Some angles need a title to get it over and some don't. The way you did it, makes two huge angles instead of one. Great booking!
-
All good. Sorry for my poorly worded response to a fun show.
-
Rain, I might have worded my response incorrectly. Sorry. What I meant was how it is interesting how we all see things so differently in this game and that is what makes it fun. You are amazing with young talent and know exactly how to develop them while I am awful at it. For your promotion and how you have developed people, everyone was right where they should be on your card. I was saying that I could not get Sabu to this point because I struggle with young wrestlers. I was also pointing out how I struggle to let go of the vets who are on the way out. I expect Wahoo to be 1980 Wahoo in 1987. To me, all of our writing styles are so different and that is another reason that we are like the territory system of the 80's. Look at Spike Huber; title holder in Indianapolis and probably couldn't do anything else but job in the WWF. This idea of how promoters pushed what they had is why I love the territory system and lost interest by 87 when it was really dead. I had a feeling I worded my response poorly but it was at 6:15 this morning while sitting in a car waiting for my daughter to come out a swim practice. I love what you do with Pacific and the development of all the young guys.

EPISODE #4 July 30 The Show starts with a montage set to techno music with the video coming from matches from this past week at The Centroplex in Baton Rouge. We see “The Crippler” Ray Stevens piledriving JT Southern, the Spoiler walking the top rope with Rotten Ron Starr in tow, Bill Kazmaier having Tully Blanchard locked in the bearhug only to clobbered from behind with a chair by Dark Journey, Buzz Sawyer leaping off the top rope for a frog splash on Doug Gilbert, Chief Wahoo McDaniel chopping the daylights out of Vladimir Petrov, The Freebirds and the Commonwealth brawling all over the arena and in the big one, Ivan Koloff and Nikita Koloff tying that yellow karate belt given to them by Wahoo around the next of JYD and tossing him over the top rope trying to choke him to death. Gordon Solie: Thank you so very, very much indeed to another week of Mid-South Revolution Wrestling. I am Gordon Solie, and it is my pleasure to be coming to you tonight from the Houston County Farm Center in Dothan, Alabama. What a night it was this past Monday in Baton Rouge. As you just saw things have really gotten personal between the Freebirds and the Commonwealth. In fact, their 6 Man tag team match in Baton Rouge never even got started as the two teams couldn’t stop fighting long enough for the ref to call for the bell and if that wasn’t enough chaos for one night, what the Russians tried to do to JYD was one of the most disgusting acts that I have ever seen in my nearly 30 years in professional wrestling. Thank goodness, Wahoo McDaniel and the Freebirds came out immediately at prevented JYD from serious injury. I want to bring out Ernie to discuss both of these situations. Ernie Ladd: When I started Mid-South Revolution Wrestling, I wanted to be fair to all. I wanted to be the opposite of Bill Watts and the UWF. I wanted to let the wrestlers settle their own problems. I wanted to stay out of the ideas of fines and suspensions and all of that. This is professional wrestling everybody. This is a violent sport by nature. At times, things are going to get out of control but this past week in Baton Rouge, some of our wrestlers crossed the line. I am not going to suspend or fine anybody for now, but I am putting some wrestlers on notice. First of all, the Freebirds had no business attacking the Commonwealth from behind on Monday. What they did was put the fans at ringside in jeopardy! Also, to Mr. Wahoo McDaniel, what did you think was going to happen when you gave Nikita Koloff a yellow karate belt and called him a “yellow-bellied coward?” Now that does not excuse the Commonwealth or the Russians for their actions, but I think this issue could have been avoided before they every got started. Now remember what I said. Here at Revolution Wrestling, we want to solve our actions in the ring whenever possible. So, this week in the Sam Houston Coliseum, we are going to make sure these groups stick to wrestling. We are going to have a Double Main Event. The Freebirds and The Commonwealth will have their 6 Man Elimination Match while JYD and Wahoo McDaniel will once again face Ivan and Nikita Koloff. Both matches will take place inside a STEEL CAGE! Gordon Solie: Ok, you heard it fans. That is some card over in Houston this Monday night. As for tonight, we got another great hour instore for you right here on the Superstation. You will see the Lightening Express in action. Porkchop Cash will be back in the ring. The Crippler Ray Stevens is here. The Freebirds will be in tag action. Rick Steiner will be taking on Bret Sawyer and in the Main Event, we have a Revolution Title match between two real heavyweights, Vladimir Petrov vs The Strongman, Bill Kazmaier. That and much, much more. Wrestling fans, let’s get to the ring for our first match. MATCH The Lightening Express (Brad Armstrong & Tim Horner) defeat Caleb & Butch Johnson when Armstrong hit the Russian Legsweep on Johnson A quick post-match interview with Armstrong and Horner serves to hype up their match with the Nightmares for Monday night in the Sam Houston Coliseum. Both Brad and Tim comment how the Nightmares said that one of the reasons they were back in the area was to put the Lightening Express out of wrestling but this Monday night they are going to enjoy beating those masked cowards all over the Coliseum. When The Lightening Express leave the podium JYD and Wahoo McDaniel who is in full Indian headdress came out to the podium. JYD: I never thought I would say this but Ernie Ladd… you got this one right. That’s right the Big Dog and the Big Cat are on the same page. This Monday night, no place to hide Koloffs. No place to run. No way to get any help from the outside. It’s just you two Russians against me and Wahoo in a Steel Cage and finally we are going to find out who the better men are. You think you can get rid of the Dog by hanging me over the top rope with a belt. No chance. Dog does hos biting and howling at the moon antics as we hear from Wahoo Wahoo McDaniel: Koloff’s, last week I gave you a yellow karate belt and called you nothing but yellow-bellied cowards and what did you do? You went out and proved I was right. Instead of trying to bet JYD here, you decided the only way to save your title was to get disqualified. And at the same time tried to injure Dog. (Wahoo takes his headdress off and pulls one feather out of the front) Well this week I got another present for you. See this Indian feather… well it is all yours. Gordon Solie: Wahoo… not sure I understand. Wahoo McDaniel: Gordon, I giving them one feather cause that is all the careers are worth. They careers are like one feather compared to the hundreds I have left. After Monday night, the Koloffs will understand that they aren’t on the level as Dog and myself. Gordon Solie: There you have it folks. Junkyard Dog and Wahoo McDaniel are looking for some revenge on Ivan and Nikita Koloff this week in the Sam Houston Coliseum and I wouldn’t bet against them getting it. COMMERCIAL BREAK-PROMOS FOR THE SAM HOUSTON COLISEUM MATCH: Porkchop Cash vs Carl Fergie In the end, Pork Chop, to the delight of the fans, tired of the questionable tactics by Carl Fergie and he beat Fergie from pillar to post before getting the win with a devastating heart punch. At a post-match interview, we find out that Pork Chop will be wrestling Tully Blanchard in Monday at the Sam Houston Coliseum. Cash admits that Tully is tough, but he has never backed down from any wrestler and he isn’t about to start now. Tully Blanchard comes out demanding answers on why he keeps getting matches against wrestlers who are not on his level. First Revolution Wrestling had him wrestling that big doo fuss Bill Kazmaier who didn’t now a wrestling move from a dance move and now they want him wasting his time against the Over-The-Hill Gang member Pork Chop Cash. Cash gets right in Tully’s face and is ready for a fight when Dark Journey tries to come down Cash, but her insensitive words just fueled the anger in Porkchop. Tully said he didn’t mean any disrespect, but Pork Chop demanded a match right now. Tully seemed happy to oblige and ushered Cash to the ring. WHAM…. From behind Tully rams Cash headfirst into the ring post and then continues to beat on him with kicks and elbows. Dark Journey is laughing and having a grand old time when the fans erupt as Bill Kazmaier is on his way. Dark Journey warns her man just in time and the duo once again head for the hills. Gordon Solie: Tully Blanchard… one man with a mile of wrestling ability but only an inch of integrity. Thank goodness Bill Kazmaier rushed to the scene or else who knows what would have happened to Pork Chop. Let’s take a break. COMMERCIAL BREAK-PROMOS FOR THE SAM HOUSTON COLISEUM Before our next bout, The Nightmares are out having a grand old time talking about how this Monday at the Sam Houston Coliseum, they are going to achieve one of their goals… Get Rid of the Lightening Express and how that will put them just one step closer to the Mid-South Revolution Tag Titles. The Koloffs come out next and Ivan is thankful to Wahoo for another gift. Ivan Koloff: Wahoo… last week you gave us this nice yellow belt and it helped Nikita and I to almost end career of Junkyard Dog. This week, you give us a feather… Not sure yet how this will help us to defeat you this Monday night, but one thing is for sure… we will beat you. Nikita Koloff: Junkyard Dog…again come out and attack us. He attack Uncle Ivan with a dog chain across his back. Well Junkyard Dog… you look at Nikita. Look at Me. Mid-South Revolution Champion and there is nothing you can do about it. Junkyard Dog… Nikita no can wait to this Monday night till I get you in the ring again and this time I will choke you out! MATCH “Crippler” Ray Stevens defeats Verlon Biggs with the Piledriver Before our next match, the Freebirds come out for a pre-match interview Terry Gordy: I just want to say that it is great to be back rasslin in Alabama again. I want to thank Mid-South Revolution Wrestling for the opportunity. I want to thank Ernie Ladd for putting this all together. I want to thank Ted Turner and Superstation 17 for this chance. But Ernie Ladd watch your step. You out here a little while ago and accusing us as being the problem last week in Baton Rouge against the Commonwealth. Be careful Ernie Ladd. You startin to sound a little like Bill Watts. Now it’s like this. That snake in the grass Cowboy Bill Watts blackballed the Freebirds from the area. It was fine when Michael and I were having our little problem and making him a lot of money but when we all got back together again, he was afraid we was just going to run roughshod over all the teams in the UWF so he sent us packing. I aint sayin we’re the best tag team ever but I dam sure saying we can swing a chair as good as any team in history. Now you listen up Commonwealth, you want a war you got one. And Ernie Ladd… do as you say, let the wrestlers solve their own problems. Buddy Roberts: Listen up everybody. We’ve been all around this country and all around this world and there are a lot of people that don’t like us but there are a lot that do and we’re excited to be back here in the Mid-South area and we’re going to show Jonathan Boyd and his Sheepherders just how tough we are. Michael Hayes: You know sometin baby. The boys are back in town and we aint in town to mess around. I hear through the grapevine that the Commonwealth is talking a lot of trash. They talking about what they’re going to do the Freebirds. Well this Monday night you boys got your chance… in a steel cage jack! That’s right in the Sam Houston Coliseum you boys are gonna take a walk down Bad Street. Now that’s a street many a men have tried to walk down but aint but a few have ever reached that last house. I’m putting my money down that you won’t make it past door number #1 jack and that’s a fact! Time to go to work boys. MATCH The Freebirds (Terry Gordy & Buddy Roberts with Michael Hayes) vs Don Harris & Randy Mulkey While Gordy and Roberts are in complete control of the match, Lord Jonathan Boyd rushes up behind Michael Hayes who is not in the match and cracks a chair over his head! Hayes goes down like a sack of potatoes. Roberts and Gordy here the gasp from the fans and turn and see what happened and the rush to attack Boyd but before the get there. The Sheepherders have joined the fight. It doesn’t matter that the Commonwealth has a 3-2 advantage, The Freebirds are fighting like wild animals. Unfortunately, the ref has reached the 10 count and calls for the bell as the Freebirds are counted out but again, we have a bloody brawl that Gordon Solie is once again asking Katie to bar the door! There is no way to stop this Pier 6 brawl other than to go to commercial. COMMERCIAL BREAK-PROMOS FOR THE SAM HOUSTON COLISEUM When we come back from break, the Freebirds, including a shaken but not injured Michael Hayes, take one more chance to hype up the steel cage match for Monday night. MATCH Rick Steiner with Missy Hyatt vs Brett Sawyer The feud between Hyatt International and The Sawyer brothers has been building ever since Eddie Gilbert, Doug Gilbert and Rick Steiner attacked Brett post-match. Steiner did a good job of overpowering Sawyer throughout this match and turned Brett back each time Sawyer tried to gain the momentum. Steiner got the win after the German Suplex. Doug Gilbert rushed the ring and laid into the fallen Brett Sawyer. The problem was the Buzz was waiting in the wings and rushed in to save his brother and really hammered away on Doug Gilbert. Gilbert rolled out to the floor to the safety of Missy and Steiner. Both Sawyers are now up and daring Missy’s crew to come back in the ring, but they decide to walk away to fight another day. Buzz and Brett come over to the interview area where we are informed that this Monday in the Sam Houston Coliseum, it will be Buzz Sawyer vs Eddie Gilbert. Buzz is again screaming and spitting all of the microphone wondering were that coward Eddie Gilbert was tonight and that he will have no place to hid come Monday night! COMMERCIAL BREAK-PROMOS FOR THE SAM HOUSTON COLISEUM MAIN EVENT MATCH “The Russian Terror” Vladimir Petrov with Ivan Koloff vs “Strongman” Bill Kazmaier This match is full of big powerful moves with neither man giving an inch. We see both men try the bearhug but neither could get a submission. Both men hit some powerful slams and suplexes but couldn’t get the pin. Momentum made one final change when Bill Kazmaier, was able to Military Press Slam the Russian Terror. Ivan Koloff, sensed trouble as was heading towards the apron. WHAM… Big Boot by Kazmaier sending Ivan to the floor. WHAM… Kazmaier connects with his own lariat which Gordon called the Canadian Sickle and Petrov was in trouble. Kazmaier with the cover…. 1…2…. WHAM… Ivan recovered in time to hit the elbow drop on Kazmaier. The ref calls for the bell as Ivan continues to stomp away on the world’s strongest man. Gordon Solie: Ivan is all over Kazmaier. This is out of control. Katie bar the door. We got another Pier Six Brawl here on Mid-South Revolution Wrestling. Pee Wee Anderson has called for the bell and the timekeeper is doing his part to end Ivan’s attack on Kazmaier. Folks sorry but we are out of time. Malenkos vs Guerreros in the opener goes to show how stacked this card was. I think this card is a great example of how we all see things differently in Dawn of War. To me, I would have had Black Tiger and Sabu be the opener as I would expect that Sabu still needs some time to develop inside of the ring. I think this is my anti ECW bias coming out but it is going to take me a while to buy into Sabu being this wild man that he is later in his career but you are the master at developing talent and would know best where he fits. I am guilty of the opposite as I have people way past their prime leading my promotion. Wahoo McDaniel might be my #1 babyface right now but he is nearly 4000 matches in and his career is winding down. I have trouble thinking of ways to develop and interest new stars. I mentioned to you that we are starting to head into a time frame that is out of my comfort zone and I am grasping at things in the past and wrestlers I know and understand. Awesome 6 man tag match but are Backlund and company on the same page. This one is very interesting! Another wrestler I took notice of in this card was Tony St. Clair in the main event. Interesting how St. Clair has become so big in our game but goes mostly unknown to the average wrestling fan. Both you and Spaldoni have made him a huge star. I admit that I did not know too much about him and recently watched some Southeastern Championship Wrestling and they were giving him huge hype videos week after week. It just goes to show you how great the 80's were with the territory system. Promoters could give a guy a push and make them a star but because their was not internet people in other areas never heard of or saw them. Just a question as you know a whole lot more than I do, how good was St. Clair? Awesome show as always.

Great card for the people of Ashville. I am sure the tickets in Ashville were a hot ticket but you might have sold a few more if you billed the main event as Flair vs Arn Anderson before that night instead of the Battle Royal to see who would face Flair. TO me, you have done such a great job of getting Flair in the most heated angle of the game between himself and the former Horseman that it is like printing money! Either way, it made for a really awesome event in Ashville. Battle Royals are always fun to watch. Haystacks 3-1 is cool and little kids will be talking about this monster for the entire lives. That plus I think the last 4 matches were really huge. Finishing with the two big title matches with one being Flair vs Arn and you have created a night to remember for all! Awesome event!

I admit that I had some trouble reading the show this week. Once you said that we were getting Madusa and Richter for the titles, that's all I could think about. It was awesome how you made this match so HUGE that all of the post-match interviews of the other wrestlers focused on who they thought would win. The entire WWW roster knows where their bread is buttered .... except for Moretti! As for the the other matches, I was surprised that Mad Maxine went down in defeat but when it is basically 2-1 it is understandable. Well written show and good job pushing the season matches. And again, the main event was the match of the week here in Dawn of War!

I'm really enjoying the beginnings of the UWF under your control. I thought the back and forth between Dibiase and Watts was great and then Dibiase walking out on Embry gets him even more heat. Awesome job here. I admit that the quick babyface to heel to babyface turn for Lex Luger had me a bit skeptical but everyone has to be comfortable with their own ideas. After seeing how well you did this, I am no longer skeptical and think it was great for your current roster. Seeing Luger getting mauled by Vader and Barbarian here was interesting. Sometimes things just aren't great fits and you were very clear that Woman and Luger were not a good fit. Great job getting out of a corner that I had boxed you into. Hercules is doing a nice job of getting over with the fans and again, you created a great babyface out of someone I always saw as a heel. Great job again. I like the developing angle between Muta and Downtown Bruno. Wonder who Bruno will add to go after Muta? Nice job with the continued development of Benoit! He is going to be a star soon if you keep writing for him in this manner. Really glad you have come to join us here at Dawn of War. I have really enjoyed your first few shows here.

Looking for a 6-7 month exchange for Scott Steiner

Enjoyed both house shows this week. I was interested to see what you did with the Crusher Blackwell/Bad News match. I wasn't sure which way you were going to go here. I figured Bad News would come out with the belt but wasn't sure if you were going to have him dominate Crusher. I like the even match you had here. Makes each match more fun to read If I had only enough money for one of these shows, I would have been at the Dunn Center! I enjoy those heel vs heel matches as I always try to figure out who the fans hate more. The Beast got the win. Wonder what would have happened if Vin Man was there. Polynesian Power vs Iaukea's squad could fight 7 days a week and I wouldn't want to miss any of them. You know how much I have enjoyed the Bruise Brothers. Add Tony Atlas and I am all in. I think it I like them even more as heels! Throw in Wildfire, Idol, Taylor, Bullet, Keirn and I feel like I am a 10 year old kid again tunning in to Superstation 17! Loved this card at the Dunn Center! Then throw in Lawler who has become another one of my favorites since getting involved in this hobby .... WOW. Great work!

Cool match... the vet vs the youngster. Bock vs Texas Red. Would have been awesome to see them both in their prime at the same time. Nice job.

Rooting for the car crash. WWE has ruined pro wrestling in my opinion. Vince has never played fair and he deserves to see a horrible ending. What he has done to people in the WWE and all around the wrestling world he deserves to see this all go up in flames. Maybe today is the beginning of his "Black Saturday."

That was an awesome AWA show. Between the interviews with Al Perez/Idol and gang and then the Beauty Shop, I couldn't get enough. Killer Brooks as the bounty man. Love It! Awesome angles! Bad News as champ seems like it is going to be a wild ride! Nice choice. Snuka/Polynesian Power vs Iaukea and crew seems so personal. Really well done here. Nice job building up Putski also.

Interesting format with the other news section of the report. It helps to keep us up to date on the feuds in a nice time saving way.. The two cards at UIC were quality house shows with a nice balanced card with the main events being the major money makers. To me, this show seems like you are on your way to a full promotion with TV, house shows and major events.

Most important... take care of yourself. On to the show, I like how you made Billy Jack look really strong in a tough match before his title shot. Makes that title match look like it could go either way. Maieda is looking unstoppable. Who is going to slow him down? Can't wait to see. Young Konnan, Eddie G and Regal have found good places in your roster. They are fighting in quality angles but seem to be out of the title shot picture. You seem to be the rookie-whisperer of Dawn of War.
