  1. The Sasha's psyche talk felt like a diatribe I would go off on TWIW. I loved it and am actually hearing from others the same thing that's the kind of in depth analysis you can only get from PWO. If there's voting this gets the thumbs up
  2. I am not happen about the planed new format
  3. The new episode was a tour de force for WDKW after last weeks departure. Highlights include Papa Hales size shaming Sam (which I do not endorse) and Fray seeming to realize the concept of trolling live on air. You are quite the host Sammy keep up the good work.
  4. Nigel v KENTA is to me an all time story telling match and probably my favorite Nigel title defense. With that said everything you said about the match is correct it's just a case of being in the moment and enjoying the back story even more than the match.
  5. Thank you Mick I felt I carried the 1st episode pretty well Chad did what he could
  6. Chris Hero got the chance to work and train with Misawa so that might play into why Hero has the authenticity that Parv says is normally lacking in this stuff
  7. This is an interesting stance to me, I don't disagree with you idea. That said I wonder who you would see that information effecting a rating negatively unless you are implying that if Parv understood the background more he might give it a higher rating? I think the ultimate goal of analyzing wrestling is understanding it, not necessarily ranking it. This was my disconnect but with you point that out then I totally understand, I tend to see the thread as Prav just ranking and breaking stuff down less they trying to understand it which comes with that inherent disdain you mentioned. #9 Was the 1st match I wanted to show Parv of Thatcher but I did no have a copy of it to easily show him I'm pleasantly suprised to see you have #8 even on the radar let alone as high as I think it rightfully deserves to me

  9. I would have expect that a certain friend of Hero's that also happens to been known for his great work when it comes to comps would have already made one but even if so it should be updated to include his recent indie run
  10. That match received a lot of praise at the time the issue with why the buzz didn't stuck was that was in the middle of the 1st night of 3 shows. Tournaments also seem to be an issue for creating heavy touted MOTY level stuff when looked back on as a stand alone they tend to hold up more but in the moment people tend to get caught up in looking at the whole I know I did as over the course of the weekend of shows I came out more thinking "Wow Heroes Eventually Die had some amazing matches" and know about this one match other the others. Couple that basic tournament issues with the fact that most ended up watching these shows with break in-between night for multiple different reasons and you can end up with it all becoming a little hazy in your memory. That being said, personally I'm not a huge "super team" fan and add in the fact that if I remember correctly Thatcher was being replaced by Sami which was a huge downgrade in my mind and I ended up seeing this as fine but actually preferred TECH v RPG from night 2 more as they both felt more like well oiled tag teams competing for dominate in the division. Plus it had more cool double team spots. Hmm I agree with this in the idea that Parv should watch more Evolve but I find it odd to say that you need to understand the context before giving something a high rating especially so someone like Parv who I find does a great job of grading objectively. Like to say well this match isn't that much better than other Evolve style matches would really just being saying all Evolve style matches are great and should been seen as justification for rating it all highly rather than I guess trying to imply a curve that would downgrade rating on stuff just because it's all at what should be an objectively high level.
  11. People like consistency & pattern a problem might be that you are switch stuff up too much try to stick to a rhythm for awhile but make sure it's a format you wouldn't mind doing for the rest of your life if people listen or not
  12. It is Hero is a pretty notorious hip hop head as you might be able to tell from their amazing entrance music This really shocked me not that the match isn't that good just did not expect Parv to get giving anything from Evolve the full 5 so quickly
  13. I liked both Shibata matches a lot too but it feels like an odd diversion from what should be KOR on a war path to the title
  14. Who got in?
  15. This episode was good guy if for some reason you had commented on this post in the past but have since quit listening to the podcast for your own reasons I will say this is a great episode to jump back in for I loved it
  16. Disagree with point 2. Record in stereo, then convert to mono after editing in Audacity. It allows you to see your side separate and just makes the whole process easier. Bonus points if it's two people it's easier to clear out any background noise too. Well, yes, that's true. And especially true if you are going to do close editing in post-production. LOL at actually doing editing
  17. I haven't rewatched the Lee v Wilkins match since it originally came out but I think I should to add some context but, yes it's very true that the match set the tone for Lee's title run in CWF. Again it's very interesting as it shows Trevor's skill as a multifaceted worker because he doesn't get the same time or tell the same stories in any other company. Trevor is a special case in wrestling and I knew it the moment I first saw him live as I had be slightly familiar with him seeing stuff pop up on youtube here and there but where he took the PWG crowd from chanting "who are you?" to being strongly behind him in the course of one match I could tell he wasn't just a moves guy. It does make me think of Valentine, Flair, or even Steamboat that Trevor uses the length of the match almost as part of his offense but in a way I see it as more than that. Match length in Trevor Lee title defenses aren't just part of Trevor's game plan it is a character is the story of Trevor Lee as champion. I expect it to pay off in the end that we see that Trevor's true toughest opponent and the one that will ultimately dethrone him is ring time.
  18. Yeah I'm always slightly disappointed with Cecil is out and him having trained and worked with a lot of the top guys in the company right now does help bring a lot of "first hand" knowledge to the booth that is really enjoyable to me
  19. I know Vampiro was a big time draw in Mexico but I would say that was in spite of his work & I was really meaning more in the US
  20. I was pretty good on here if I do say so myself
  21. PPV was good but still a little of the bland oh it's ROH nothing matters feel but I will say it is getting better if they keep this up I could easily see that by Final Battle we could be looking a hot product that I'm very excited to watch
  22. Sorry about that Woof this week was worse than normal to begin with Pete's audio was basically in audible I did what I could to fix it to at least being able to hear us both but will work to have it sound from here on out.
  23. I really wish ROH would add LA to the loop I know they could easily sell out a place the size of Sam's town out here as I saw a good amount of people who I see in LA at shows at the shows in LV.
