Both teams beat the holy hell out of each other. 5."Purple Haze" Mark Lewin pinned Johnny Weaver thanks to Kevin Sullivan's outside assistance at 18:29 6.Curt Hennig pins Rip Rogers at 8:37 7.Roddy Piper pins Kevin Sullivan in a out of control and wild street fight at 17:51 8.Dusty Rhodes fought Bob Roop to a 30 minute draw

Championship Wrestling from Florida Taped: Sept. 30th 1983 Aired: Oct. 3rd 1983 Gordon Solie: Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of Championship Wrestling from Florida. I'm Gordon Solie alongside me is Buddy Colt. Buddy Colt: Gordon we have some great matches as usual lined up today. Gordon Solie: you bet we do. We'll see Purple Haze vs Johnny Weaver, Kevin Sullivan vs Bob Roop, Roddy Piper vs John Bonello, & tag action with Ron Bass & Black Bart vs Ron Sexton & Buck Ramstead. Plus in our featured bout we'll see Dusty Rhodes in action against Rip Rogers. Buddy Colt: Gordon that is sure looking great. Gordon: Also we'll have a VTR segment and I'll chat with Eddie Graham on the latest with the Florida title tournament & more. -Commercial Break- Gordon Solie: welcome back to Championship Wrestling '83. Let's go now to the ring for our first match. 'Purple Haze' Mark Lewin vs Johnny Weaver Motley Crue's Red Hot plays as both Purple Haze and Kevin Sullivan come down to the ring. Fans are booing them both heavily. Johnny Weaver is pacing in the ring waiting for the match to start. Beginning: Weaver and Lewin both lay into each with a house of fire. Weaver smacks Lewin's chest and vice versa. Middle: Lewin gains control of the match. He viciously piledrives Weaver twice in the ring and knocking him out. End: Lewin pins Johnny Weaver for the win @ 6:40 We see Kevin Sullivan hand something to Purple Haze through the ring ropes. Lewin cuts the letter X into the forehead of Johnny Weaver. He then closes Weaver's eyes and places two pennies over them. Gordon Solie: what a disgusting display by Kevin Sullivan and Purple Haze. well unfortauntely they seem to be headed over here to my desk. Gordon: why did you guys do that to Johnny Weaver? Kevin: hahahaha its very simple. We did it because we hate his stinking guts. Purple Haze: Johnny Weaver will know what it means to be humble. You see the Chairman of the Board isn't very happy with Weaver or any one of these glad handers. Haze: the chairman offered Weaver a high ranking position here in the Army. He could've been somebody with us. Kevin: This could all be avoided if he gets down on his hands and knees and begs for forgiveness from The Chairman. Gordon: you've recently had your troubles with Roddy Piper. what do you have to say about him? Kevin Sullivan: Roddy Piper will learn very soon why you don't mess with me. My master the chairman himself has taught me all his tricks and I ain't afraid to hurt people. Gordon; Who exactly is the Chairman of the Board? Kevin: That will be revealed in due time Mr Solie. Right now is not the right time for Mr Chairman to show his face just yet. Let's now bring out promoter Eddie Graham to discuss the latest regarding the Florida title tournament. Gordon Solie: Eddie what is the latest regarding the tournament for the Florida Heavyweight title that has been in the works for some time? Eddie Graham: I have signed 10 of our top stars here in Florida. The following names are Dusty Rhodes, Kevin Sullivan, Roddy Piper, Mark Lewin, Bob Roop, Angelo Mosca, Manny Fernandez, Curt Hennig, Brian Blair & Johnny Weaver. We here in the state of Florida value athletics. Gordon: boy howdy talk about a who's who in pro wrestling. Eddie: Those tournament matches will take place starting next week and go for the next few weeks. I will have the list of matches available to you fans next week. Gordon: should be outstanding. Let's go now to the ring for our next match. Ron Bass/Ricky Harris vs Ron Sexton/Buck Ramstead We see both Sexton and Ramstead in the ring awaiting their opponents with smiles on their faces Ron Bass and Ricky Harris walk over to the desk Ron Bass: those boys are pretty dang confidant are they Ricky Harris: They gonna get a whooping like they ain't ever had before! Ron Bass: we are the number one tag team here in Florida. No one can stop us from putting a hurting on anyone! Ricky Harris; haha nobody can beat us! We gonna steamroll over the competition Ron Bass: It's whooping time. C'mon Ricky let's roll! Bass and Harris run in and just pummel both Sexton and Ramstead the referee finally is able to get them separated and to their corners as he calls for the bell to ring Beginning: Bass piledrives Ron Sexton which lays him out for a minute Middle: Harris hits a nasty lariat on the newly tagged in Buck Ramstead. End: Bass hits a devastating looking Gourdbuster on Ramstead. He rolls him up for the win for his team @ 8:18 all of a sudden we see Jack Brisco and Jerry Brisco run down to the ring and smack both Bass and Harris around with steel chairs we see Ron Bass and Ricky Harris laid out in the ring as they are laying lifeless Gordon: brother what a devastating attack by Jack and Jerry on Ron Bass and Ricky Harris Buddy Colt: there was certainly no call for something like that. We didn't even know they were here. Gordon Solie: Jack what brings you and Jerry back to the state of Florida? Jack Brisco: well we heard those two loud mouth cowboys say they were the best and nobody could beat them Jerry Brisco: Ain't nobody better here in Florida than me and Jack. We are still the greatest tag team to ever compete here in Florida. Gordon: why use a chair on them? Jack Brisco: well Gordon we had to use an equalizer to send a message. My brother Jerry and I have mastered the art of professional wrestling. Our ring record speaks for itself as we've both won just about every title imaginable. Jerry Brisco: Ron and Ricky don't know how to wrestle. They only know how to bar room brawl. Jack Brisco: I've been in plenty of bar room brawls over the years. I ain't ever seen the day when I couldn't put an Oklahoma sized whooping on a couple of bar room brawlers. Jerry: They're gonna run outta gas and be blown up. We'll mop up the floor with 'em as their tongues all hanging out. Jack: They won't be able to even fight let alone wrestle. These two don't know anything about wrestling in the first place. Gordon Solie: we'll be back after these messages! -Commercial Break- Gordon Solie: welcome back to Championship Wrestling '83. Let's now go to the ring for the next match. Motley Crue's Red Hot plays as Kevin Sullivan and 'Purple Haze' Mark Lewin come to ringside Bob Roop is seen pacing in the ring waiting for the match to start. Kevin Sullivan vs Bob Roop Beginning: Sullivan lays in a beating on Bob Roop.He screams at him something we can't quite make out. Middle: Roop tries to make a comeback to no avail. Sullivan continues to punish him. End: Sullivan locks Roop in the tree of woe (figure four leglock). Roop submits at the 10:35 mark. Sullivan after the match has Bob Roop in a headlock. the referee tries to get him to break the hold. Sullivan and Lewin make a hasty exit as we see Dusty Rhodes run down to try to help Roop get revived Bob Roop comes to and looks up and thinks that it was Dusty who had the headlock on him Dusty tries to explain to him that he came down to try to help him. Gordon: Dusty and Roop are certainly no friends. Dusty came down here to help Roop because it was the right thing to do. Bob Roop doesn't listen to reason from anyone. He hits Dusty with a pair of brass knux hidden in his trunks. the younger fans are bawling their eyes out as Dusty is attended to by the referee and several wrestlers Bob Roop comes over to the announce desk to talk to Gordon Solie. Gordon Solie: Bob why did you hurt Dusty with those brass knux? All he was doing sir was trying to help you out. Bob Roop: I don't need or want the help of that fat pig Dusty Rhodes at any time. I could be dying and I still don't want his help! Gordon: Why exactly is that? Bob Roop: I don't want that fatso's help. Dusty Rhodes you dirty yellow egg sucking dog better learn to stay outta my business! Roop slams the microphone down as he heads to the locker room. Gordon Solie: We'll be back after these commercials -Commercial Break- Buddy Colt: welcome back to Championship Wrestling '83. My colleague Gordon Solie is at ringside for an interview with Roddy Piper. green grass of tyrol plays as Hot Rod Roddy Piper comes down to ringside to a huge amount of cheers Gordon Solie: Wherever Roddy goes he has a huge following of fans. He has recently been embroiled in a feud with Kevin Sullivan as of late. Roddy Piper: Kevin Sullivan you are one deranged individual. You come out here talking about the Chairman of the Board said this, Chairman says that. Roddy: well brother let's just see who your imaginary friend is. I think Sullivan is just a little goofy eh Gordon? Gordon: well Roddy one can say that. You also have to agree he's been on a roll as of late. Roddy: Sure he has. At what price though? He and that Purple Haze are two commie sickos who worship the devil. Gordon: Roddy any thoughts about your participation in the upcoming Florida title tournament? Roddy: I'm gonna win it. I'm never been beaten at anything! Not even at a game of tiddly winks. Gordon: Well folks you talk about a brilliant young man who knows what he wants. Roddy Piper enters the ring along with his opponent John Bonello Roddy Piper vs John Bonello Beginning: Piper takes Bonello to school in the ring. He just dissects his opponent. Middle: Piper hits a high knee onto the face of John Bonello. Bonello is helpless as he tries without avail to make any kind of comeback. End: Piper hits a devastating belly to back suplex on Bonello. He quickly covers him for the win @ 4:27 Gordon Solie: We've now got a VTR Segment with a man due to come his way here soon. That and after our commercial messages we will see if Dusty Rhodes is still able to wrestle or not. VTR Segment.............................. Angelo Mosca: Angelo Mosca! That is my name for those of you mentally defective halfwits who still don't know it. Mosca: That Florida heavyweight title will be mine! Dusty Rhodes, Roddy Piper, Johnny Weaver, Manny Fernandez or anyone else will fall at my feet. Even that pretty boy punk Curt Hennig. Mosca: I will be champion forever! the VTR segment ends abruptly as we cut to a commercial. -Commercial Break- Gordon Solie: Gordon Solie: welcome back to Championship Wrestling '83. Let's now bring out Dusty Rhodes to discuss his condition. Gordon Solie: Dusty earlier in the show we saw you tried to help Bob Roop and got knocked out with brass knux in return. Dusty Rhodes: I may be a little worse for wear. These fans though paid their hard earned money to be here to see their Ameircan Dream wrestle. Dusty: Gordon these children are my sweet babies. I don't ever wanna see them with tears in their eyes ever again. I saw many of these kids crying their eyes out cuz their hero was down. Gordon: Dusty you are part of that big Florida title tournament coming up next week. Any thoughts on that? Dusty: Gordon you can rest assured that I will be Florida champion once again. That ain't bragging it is simply a fact. Dusty: When I am on top of the mountain then I will focus on putting a hurting on Bobby Roop. Dusty Rhodes gets in the ring for his match. We see Rip Rogers is already waiting in the ring. Dusty Rhodes vs Rip Rogers Beginning: Dusty easily takes Rogers to school in this wild out and out brawl Gordon: Dusty has got to be probably visualizing Bob Roop and not Rip Rogers Buddy: I would have to agree. Dusty is a house of fire as he lays into Rip Rogers Middle: Dusty hits a diving crossbody onto Rip Rogers. He continues his assault on Rogers. End: Dusty lands his patented Bionic Elbow on Rip Rogers. He pins him for the win @ 3:51 the show comes to a close as we see Dusty celebrating with his many fans.
