Pacific Northwest (PNW) The PNW Roster has grown a bit. The following talent is scheduled to start shortly: John Nord (late August) Fidel Sierra (doing a Cuban gimmick) Johnny Rodz (Asst Booker & wrestler) Kelly Kiniski Scott Casey Jesse Barr (Son of Sandy) Marty Jannety PNW also exchanged some talent with Smokey Mountain with Johnny Rich (unhappy with his push) and Tom Pritchard (turned heel on partner Koko Ware). Coming to Portland are Dan Spivey & "Maniac" Matt Borne. Borne will be in a tag team going after Jaggers & Embry, while Spivey will be the newest member of the Albano stable (Jagger/Embry/Spoiler) Spivey will get a big push due to his size. It will be interesting to see on how well he does. Blackjack Lanza has already finished up with PNW and Ken Timbs left due to personal reasons. Joes Estrada will be coming in full time as will "Maniac" Mark Lewin. Lewin could be a team with Borne from what we have heard Jonathan Boyd will become a full time Babyface manager. He will manage a young tag team to start with and the promotion will go from there.

I think the 2 new guys should get 1st choice and do a snake draft. Everyone else has an advantage as it is.

Pacific Northwest News: TV ratings were through the roof, according to those in the Portland office & at the TV Studio that they use. The 2 Hour show was a HUGE success and reports are that as many as 15 different business have inquired about purchasing commercial time during Wrestling. Right now the program is a Hour long, but the TV might push to make it 90 minutes. So far, so good in terms of the attendance at house shows. The commercials throughout the States of Washington & Oregon have peaked the interest of not only Wrestling Fans, but people who are curious. Don Owen & Sandy Barr plan on having the following schedule as soon as they can bring more talent in: Friday Night TV Saturday Sunday Monday Things could change a bit and Monday could be a "Special" night of wrestling and Wednesday could be a spot show. Owen & Barr want to have 4 shows a week (including TV) as soon as Mid-August. September 21-24 has Andre The Giant, Bruiser Brody, Stan Hansen coming in. Early talk is that Hansen & Brody could face Jaggers & Embry for the Tag belts on 2 of the nights & having a 6 man tag involving Andre and a partner for Albano's crew on TV. They plan on promoting very heavy starting on Labor day for the 4 day extravaganza. There has been rumors that Matt Borne could return to the area. There have been talks of a talent exchange with Johnny Rich heading the other way. Rich hasn't been happy during his stay in Portland and wants to look for other work. Bobby Jaggers & Eric Embry have gotten over in a big way as the lead tag team and lead Heels in the area. The beat down of Brett Sawyer was an incredible performance by Sawyer & Jaggers as the main players. Sawyer lost so much blood that he actually had to stay in the hospital overnight. Tom Pritchard & Koko Ware are going to have a program and plans are still there to have Jonathan Boyd as a manager to counteract Lou Albano on the Heel side.

To me, it seems like Bob Backlund & Carlos Colon seems to be a bit out of place in Quebec. Would love to see a series of matches between Valentine & Backlund.

Promoter: Don Owen Venue: KPTV 12 Portland, Oregon Announcers: Don Coss & Dutch Savage Date: Friday July 27th Length of program 2 Hours Don Coss: Welcome to our special 2 hour program to determine the PNW Heavyweight Champion and the PNW Tag Team Champions. After the semi-finals were over, we had an interesting development. We had 2 wrestlers “Hangman” Bobby Jaggers & “Hacksaw” Brett Sawyer, who made it to the finals of both Tournaments. Everything that both wrestlers worked so hard to get to, could all come down to which wrestler can stay the healthiest going into the final match. I just received word that Dutch Savage has a special announcement. Over to you Dutch. Dutch Savage: I just received this message from Promoter Don Owen which says the following about tonight’s 2 Championship matches. The tag team finals will go on first, but there will be a stipulation for the ending of the match. The partners of both Bobby Jaggers & Brett Sawyer will have 2 minutes after the pinfall to leave the ringside area. Failure to do so will cause the titles to be vacated and a determination of what the next step will be, will be announced at a later date. Tonight should be a barn burner. Finals for the PNW Tag Team Championship: 1 Hour Time Limit “Hangman” Bobby Jaggers & “Flamboyant” Eric Embry (with Captain Lou Albano) come to the ring first to a studio full of boos and catcalls. Jaggers & Embry both have huge smiles on their faces and are yelling to the crowd that the belts are going with them tonight. Here comes “Hacksaw” Sawyer & “Quickdraw” Rick McGraw to a deafening roar from the crowd. Jaggers & Sawyer will start the match. Jaggers is acting very cocky and shoves sawyer to the mat. Sawyer jumps up and slugs Jaggers right in the mouth and the brawl is on. The first 10 minutes is back & forth action with both teams tagging in and out. At the 17 minute mark, Embry takes control when Sawyer misses a drop kick and lands hard on his neck. Referee Sandy Barr goes over to check on Sawyer, but Embry nudges him out of his way. The next 6 minutes consists of Embry & Jaggers working on Sawyer’s neck with various neck twists & chin locks. Now a turning point in the match is when Jaggers gives Sawyer and Irish Whip into the ropes and Sawyer goes up high for a back body drop, but he lands on his neck again. Sawyer is in obvious pain and Jaggers quickly pounces on Sawyer and throws him to the outside where Embry can do some damage. Embry jumps down and before Rick McGraw can get over to help out, delivers a brain buster to the concrete floor. McGraw checks on Sawyer, but Embry sneaks up from behind and hits McGraw with an elbow to the back of the head. Embry grbas Sawyer by the hair and throws him back to a waiting Jaggers. The crowd is now in shock as Sawyer’s face is dripping in blood and Jaggers lets out a scream in delight. Jaggers now goes to work on the already injured neck with a series of suplexs. The announcer mentions to everyone that 40 minutes have now passed. McGraw is leading the cheers for Sawyer as they yell” GO HACKSAW GO”. The team of Jaggers & Embry have been tagging in & out for the past 5 minutes, but they haven’t went for a cover yet. Sawyer is a bloody mess and it appears the end is almost near. The crowd for some reason stands up and sees Albano heading towards McGraw and beings to taunt him. This allows Jaggers to tag Embry, who climbs to the top rope. Jaggers sets Sawyer into position for a pile driver. Jaggers then walks over towards the corner and lifts Sawyer up for the pile driver. He holds him there for about 15 seconds and then Embry comes crashing down from the top and they deliver a spike piledriver to the already injured Sawyer. Embry then goes for the cover, 1…2…thr, no, Embry pulls a lifeless Sawyer up by the hair to stop the count. At this moment, Barr starts to yell at Embry and tells him to not to do that again. McGraw is livid and jumps into the ring and starts to pound on Embry. Referee Barr tells McGraw to leave the ring and this allows Jaggers to come in and to help double team Sawyer. McGraw is looking around for something outside the ring, while Jaggers is told to get back on the ring apron. Embry tags in a now legal Jaggers who sets Sawyer up for another piledriver. He lifts Sawyer up into position and while that is happening, McGraw throws a towel into the ring that Sandy Barr notices. It’s too late as Jaggers hits Sawyer with another piledriver and injures Sawyer’s neck even more-so. Barr grabs the towel and calls for the bell. Jaggers & Embry stop as Barr calls for the ring announcer. The following announcement is made. In 48:22, Rick McGraw threw in the towel and thus gave the match to the NEW PNW Tag Team Champions, “Hangman” Bobby Jaggers & “Flamboyant” Eric Embry. The crowd are yelling at the decision as Jaggers/Embry & Albano celebrate. Barr calls for the ringside Doctor to come in and check on Sawyer and the extent of his injury. Program goes to a quick break for 2 local commercials Back in the ring, Embry & McGraw have already left ringside, while the Doctor & Referee Barr check on Sawyer. Jaggers is yelling to Barr that the 2 minutes are up and the match needs to start or forfeit the belt to him. Sandy Barr nods and asks the Doctor to leave the ring so the PNW Championship final can start. The bell rings and Jaggers goes on the attack. He picks Sawyer up and chucks him to the outside like a sack of potatoes. Jaggers leaves the ring and starts to stomp on a prone Sawyer. Barr starts the 10 count and then Jaggers picks Sawyer up and nails Sawyer with another piledriver on the concrete floor. The crowd are in total freak-out mode while Jaggers heads back to the ring to stop the count. Jaggers then leaves the ring again and picks Sawyer back up to throw in back to the inside. Sawyer is now a crimson mess with blood even dripping down his chest. Jaggers is cocky and starts to work over Sawyer some more. It appears that he wants to put Sawyer out for good and eliminate a contender who can take the belt. For the next 15 minutes, it’s all Jaggers and like in the tag team match, he doesn’t once try and pin Sawyer. 25 minutes have now passed and Jaggers picks up Sawyer and sets him up for a devastating shoulder breaker. He hits the move not once, not twice, not even 3 or 4 times. He delivers the move 8 times before dropping Sawyer to the canvas. Jaggers finally goes for the first cover of the match, 1….2…..SAWYER KICKS OUT AT 2 ½!!! Jaggers can’t believes that Sawyer kicked out. The crowd starts to stir as the excitement builds that Sawyer might be able to amount a comeback. This excitement is short-lived as Jaggers hits Sawyer with a knee drop to his head. Jaggers continues to work on Sawyer on the mat for the next 5 minutes. Almost 35 minutes have passed and no one can believe that Jaggers hasn’t tried and put Sawyer away again. Another 10 minutes passes and Jaggers is STILL working on that injured neck Finally at the 52 minute mark, Albano tells Jaggers to “finish the maggot off”. Jaggers nods his head in agreement and gives Sawyer a German suplex and goes for the cover, 1…2…KICK OUT. Sawyer is still alive and breathing. For the next 6 minutes, Jaggers does everything in his power to put Sawyer away, but he can’t! Jaggers is now looking really worried and is starting to hit Sawyer with kicks and slams, but nothing is working as Sawyer appears to be getting stronger with every passing second. Jaggers tries a hail Mary by hitting another brain buster and starts to climb to the top rope. Jagers leaps down onto Sawyer, but misses as Sawyer rolls out of the way and both wrestlers are down on the canvas. Referee Barr starts a 10 count and as Barr get to the count of 8, the bell rings. The 1 hour time limit has passed. Promoter Don Owen comes to ringside and grabs the mike. He says that there is roughly 10 minutes left in the program and the match will continue. With that announcement and Jaggers is already back up off the mat, he grabs Sawyer, who was still laying prone on his back and starts to lay a beating onto Sawyer. For the next 5 minutes, Sawyer is still staying alive as Jaggers continues his might to try and put Sawyer away. Jaggers then hits a beautiful butterfly suplex and goes heads over for the cover. Just as Jaggers gets to Sawyer, Sawyer is up on his knees and is able to grab Jaggers and uses Jaggers as a way to pull himself up. Jaggers swings and misses at Sawyer and Hacksaw slips behind Jaggers and rolls up Jaggers for a pin attempt, 1….2……3!!!!!!!!! The crowd explodes into excitement as the cameras are actually starting to shake from the noise. Jaggers is stunned as Sawyer falls to the mat and rolls to the concrete floor. Referee Sandy Barr raises Sawyer’s arm and hands him the Championship. The ring announcer makes the following announcement. At 1:08 minutes, the winner and NEW PNW Heavyweight Champion, “Hacksaw” Brett Sawyer!!! Screen fades to black -

Date: Tuesday, July 24th Venue: Town Center Wenatchee, Washington Program: House Show Tonga Kid defeats Ken Timbs "Killer" Tim Brooks over Mike Jackson Tom Pritchard and Koko Ware go to a Double DQ The Spoiler (with Captain Lou Albano) defeats by submission Johnny Rich 2nd Round of the PNW Tag Team Tournament: 1 Fall, 45 minute TIME LIMIT: #1 SEED: Jay & Mark Youngblood #8 SEED: "Hacksaw" Sawyer & "Quickdraw" Rick McGraw They talk about the crowd getting excited all the time, but this crowd basically didn't sit down the entire match. All 4 wrestlers shook hands before the start of the match for a nice show of sportsmanship. The first 5 minutes was basically a feeling out process for both the competitors and the crowd alike. After the 14 minute mark, things started to get going and the pace picked up quite a bit. The team of Sawyer & McGraw started to frustrate the Youngbloods. Sawyer and McGraw were able to keep younger brother Mark on their half of the ring. They made a lot of quick tags and made use of Sawyer's amateur skills and McGraw's strength. Every time Mark Youngblood thought he had escaped, Sawyer was usually the one who was able to reign him back before he tagged in Jay. The match itself has been very scientific with no punches thrown at all, but you can see that Mark was showing some anger in the fact that he couldn't make a tag. At 29 minutes, Mark Youngblood grabbed the hair of Sawyer and then all hell broke loose! Mark Youngblood instead of tagging out, fought Sawyer in a corner of the ring. Finally, Youngblood was able to chop his way over to older brother Jay and made the hot tag. Jay started to kick and punch Sawyer and then he whipped Sawyer into the ropes and caught Brett with a mighty chop that knocked him almost completely out. Jay went for the cover, but it was broken up by McGraw at 2 3/4. The crowd was on their feet cheering on both teams as all 4 wrestlers were in at once. The referee was able to get McGraw & Mark Youngblood out of the ring, but Sawyer & Jay were still slugging it out. Sawyer was able to get the upper hand after a double under hook suplex hit the mark. Sawyer tagged in McGraw and he hit Jay with a forearm to the teeth which had Jay spitting out blood. Jay was a bloody mess with blood running down his chin and onto his chest. Jay was dizzy and stumbling around the ring. McGraw when went for a brainbuster, but it was blocked by Jay with a knee to the lower mid-section. Jay started to stumble some more and was wandering around towards his corner when Mark tagged Jay on the shoulder and made his way in. Jay didn't realize that Mark did this as he went after McGraw also. Mark started to do the "Youngblood" war dance and then after the 4th chop, Mark ran towards McGraw, who was waiting for him and hit a spinning powerslam that would make Buzz Sawyer proud. McGraw was able to hook the leg and got the count of 1..2..3 for the victory. As Sawyer & McGraw started to celebrate, Mark jumped up and wanted to go after McGraw, but he was restrained by the referee before he could do so. Mark realized what had happened and he put his head down dejected walking back to his older brother Jay. Jay patted Mark on the back and they left the ring. Winners in 38:06 and going on to the finals, Brett Sawyer & Rick McGraw. #2 SEED: Steve & Scott Armstrong #3 SEED: "HANGMAN" Bobby Jaggers & "Flamboyant" Eric Embry (With Captain Lou Albano) I can assure you that this match won't start with any handshakes. The bell rang and as soon as the Armstrongs turned their backs, Jaggers & Embry jumped the 2 youngsters and threw Scott out of the ring and started to double team Steve in the ring. Albano went over to Steve Armstrong and nailed him with a piece of wood ( we are in the Pacific Northwest) right above his shoulder blades. The referee didn't see this as he was trying to break up the mugging that was going on right in front of him. Jagger & Embry started to work over the neck of Steve and hit a nasty spike piledriver in the corner. Armstrong was twitching as Embry made it outside and started to kick Scott as Jaggers went in for the kill. Jaggers nailed Steve with a wicked lariat and went for the cover, but to everyone's surprise, Steve kicked out at the count of 2. Armstrong was getting to his feet and saw Embry beating the hell out of his brother, when he grabbed his neck and went down in a heap. Jaggers saw this and a huge grin came upon his face and whipped Steve into the ropes and he hit another lariat and instead of covering him, he picked him up and delivered a swinging neckbreaker and covered him for the 1...2...3. Winners in 4:41 and going on to the finals, "Hangman" Bobby Jaggers & "Flamboyant" Eric Embry This Friday on TV, the finals will be: "Hacksaw" Sawyer & "Quickdraw" McGraw will face the team of "Hangman" Bobby Jaggers & "Flamboyant" Eric Embry -
