  1. For a 10 minute WWF house show match this is really good Bossman at the start shows so much fire with some amazing punches and even chokes out Ted with the microphone cord until Ted uses the nightstick to the ribs to get the advantage. Bossman is one of those guys like Windham and Dustin that is great at making you forget how big they are when selling during a match, Ted using a Bearhug on Bossman sounds ridiculous on paper but if you watch the match with how it's worked it makes perfect sense. Virgil tries interfering near the end and just gets destroyed right before before the clean finish which is surprising but then again they weren't back at MSG for another 5 months. They were still having matches in August which makes It a shame the WWF didn't book them at Summerslam 90 because this is much better than anything on that show.
  2. Never got the big deal with this, if Vince didn't want anything airing on his shows then it's edited out very easily Plus Vince himself admits on Wrestling Challenge that Saba Simba was Tony Atlas
  3. The weirdest thing about Kid losing at Summerslam was that he was starting a program with Shawn for the Intercontinental Title at the next TV
  4. "Stomp him Ronnie!" "Yeah! just like that" "Look at that chest all red and bruised" "Sugarhold seperates the Men from the Boys Tony" "Make him suffer Ronnie, tie him up" "Now he he's got him haha" "Oh yes I like it" "Lights out!" David Crockett during a Ron Garvin squash on TBS
  5. Post WMIV is when the WWF shifted from the Video One production company and established it's own in house studio, you also have stuff like the debut of the Green Screen and the commentary being done in a studio instead of at the tapings which is very noticeable As far as booking goes, the feuds would start to get really dragged out in 89/90, worst offenders being Dusty having 3 feuds in 18 months and Jake having 3 feuds from WMV to VII, it makes the early Survivor Series really fun just for the freshness of the pairings you would see Green Sean Mooney is amazing
  6. Just watched the JCP Syndicated shows from the weekend of Feb 22 1986 Risky Business Boys vs Flair/Arn is one of the best TV Sprints I've ever seen Nikita is refusing to wrestle until he gets Magnum on TV for the US Title Teijo Khan has just joined Paul Jones Army Jimmy Garvin debuts on Worldwide and MACW with 2 interviews in ring with Tony that are pretty much identical except for his outfit The Big Gold Belt Debuts with the "Rick Flair" Nameplate on it Dusty gives the RNR Express his "Betty Lou" Cage to put Jim Cornette into After a short feud with Tully we restart the Jimmy Valiant/Paul Jones feud which I love so much Poor Sam Houston has the Mid Atlantic Title but is still in the exact same spot he was 6 months ago the 30 second squashes are starting to become more frequent, before it was just a Magnum deal
  7. My Grandad would hate it when guys would try to Back Drop Mr. Perfect in 93 and get caught in the Perfect Plex, slamming the Headshrinkers heads into the mat was another
  8. One of my School Friends stopped watching in 02 after the nWo came in to the WWF, to him WWF was turning into WCW which he hated with a passion An older work colleague of mine told me he stopped watching wrestling when in his words "Hulk Hogan joined that Gang"
  9. He had his "Friend to the end" Bruti there until he "Butchered that Friendship"
  10. Prime Time Wrestling doing those interviews at "Local TV Stations" was always great, I like the detail of Nailz not having a station to take him
  11. The kid was Valiant's son. That explains his magical power to get "The Boy from New York City" playing on command by running off camera
  12. Luger vs nWo/Hogan in 97, you had Luger, the guy who had turned so many times over the years and had shown no trust in his loyal best Friend Sting, finally stepping up as a Leader for WCW and attempting to redeem himself by fighting the nWo, he was the first WCW guy to beat an nWo member on PPV(Jericho/Nick Patrick doesn't count) and he was the first WCW guy to trust the Giant again(no jokes, Giant stayed loyal until the crazy Apr/May 98 period when everyone turned) Luger beats Hogan on a Nitro in a Non Title match, beats him at the BATB 97 Tag and then wins the Title on Nitro 100 to finally become "The Man" and the entire WCW roster comes out to celebrate with him in a great moment(unless your Dean Malenko wanting a high five) 5 days later he loses it back and not one of those selfish bastards from the celebration interfere, not even The Giant who was presumably exhausted after his 5 minute match with Randy Savage. I know he couldn't have a long run with the Title as Hogan had 2 PPV matches with Piper and Sting coming up that drew huge business but couldn't we have had at least a Fall Brawl/Nitro in Sept match for Hogan to get the Title back? a successful Title defense against Hogan on PPV would have been a first and something that might have saved us from Luger in the Wolfpac wearing those Shitty Black Jeans and FUBU Jerseys trying to act Cool behind Nash and Konnan
  13. Anyone who is put off by the "wackiness" should at least skip ahead to the interviews, they are always great
  14. Parv's gonna love the Chono/Jericho match isn't he? Luger/Chono has Dusty making fun of the Mafia Kick and the crowd going crazy for the finish
  15. Schiavone ran WCW is something that has always intrigued me, doubt it's financially successful but artistically could be really good.
  16. Agreed, also has Titans fave Ivan Koloff's last WWF match as well
  17. September 85 JCP Sam Houston is getting a really big push on Worldwide, he pins Arn Anderson and gets attacked by the Andersons/Tully in the parking lot, this sets up Dusty/Magnum/Sam vs. Anderson/Tully which did happen on house shows in Bunkhouse Matches. Billy Graham is back in tie-dye cutting babyface style promos but there has been no mention of what happened to Paul Jones being his manager. Flair got attacked by Ivan and Nikita on WCW setting up Cage Matches, I'm sure Dusty will watch his back. Terry Taylor punched Dillon on MACW and Black Bart and Buddy Landel want his blood Tony Schiavone has taken over the local promos on Worldwide, tragically means no more Jackie Crockett looking like he's in a hostage tape WCW and Worldwide angles are starting to align, no more Flair and Magnum feuding on WCW while running in to save the Rock and Rolls side by side on Worldwide
  18. This could have been anyone on the heel side, the only point to the match was would Hogan and Warrior get along? The Hogan/Perfect feud has never clicked for me, maybe if I was watching back then it would have.
  19. Inconsistent Rumble with a Hot opening, a dull middle, a hot sequence with Hogan/Warrior and an anticlimactic end. Watching the TV from the time there's no way in hell that Perfect was ever considered a winner, he was already planting the seeds for the Beefcake feud.
  20. I wish Flair had stayed as a babyface, it felt so fresh to see him interacting with the Midnights and Cornette, Lance Russell commentary is an added bonus. Bobby Eaton singles matches from 85-90 are always a rare treat, he had a fun series with Dusty over the US Title on TV in early 88
  21. Is the finish line the Backlund loss or Hogan win? Your not going to have that much fun with the bulk of 83 either
  22. I could listen to Parv burying Jack Tunney for hours. Dear old Jack did seem to thaw in his treatment of Ted in 94, he let him Manage, Commentate, bring in a fake Undertaker and Co Host All American
  23. Mark Madden getting beat up is the only redeeming thing on this show, as a 12 year old with no internet this show was so confusing, why are Luger and Flair friends with Hogan and Sting again? why is Sid and Hogan forgotten? Why are guys giving up Belts then going into tournaments to win them back? Why is every fucker walking around like a moron? Where has Bret been? That recap show the week before wasn't fun either, smarmy Mark Madden going "People say Russo and Bischoff can't work together, I say they can" and Schiavone telling me that the show that I watched was a pile of shit, WCW showing me 2 hours of good stuff did made me feel a real prick for watching The Dog vs The Cat on Thunder Can you guys do the October 18 99 Nitro next? The sadist in me wants you guys to take notes on a 3 Hour Russo Nitro
  24. WWE has shown some Nitro aftershow stuff on the network so it's possible
  25. "Because of the way the match was going I'm not sure these spots weren't on purpose to tell you that this match is falling apart because he's hurt and make it more real. It did feel like that was the case. When you can take a match to the level where you go beyond suspending...you know this was like in a new dimension of believability in a sense that you know it's fake but what is real and what is not real as far as what is going on in this match and then they're blowing spots and are they really the blowing spots because the blown spots seem to figure in."
