  1. Savage/Tito No DQ at MSG is such an awesome brawl and if it happened a few weeks earlier at WM2 it would be hyped as one of the best WWF matches of the decade. Gorilla and Ladd forgetting/not knowing the stipulation and calling for Savage to be disqualified is such an 80s WWF thing to happen.
  2. Right after SummerSlam is when WWF's business takes a sharp downturn, they don't match this show in terms of buyrates until 1998.
  3. Your only hope at this point is to feed Goldberg a new challenger on PPV each month or two, try to stretch his run out as long as possible and hope Hogan gets injured or goes home before getting his win back. They still had Sting, Luger, Steiner, DDP, Giant, Bret, Nash, Savage, Flair, Benoit and Booker that he had never faced on TV at this point and you can always bring in someone from outside like they did with Bigelow later on the year. The nWo feud is pretty hard to book considering Hogan refused to work Nash in a singles, Sting was on his shitlist for turning down the spot as Hogan's partner and Luger had just cut a shoot promo on Thunder burying Hogan. Best thing to do is run Nash vs. Hall as quickly as possible and find the fastest plausible angle to put them back together. The way Flair was brought back was fine, I'd keep the Bischoff match at Starrcade but change the finish obviously. Hogan can feud with DDP, Bret or even Piper and Warrior (he's signed by this point so its happening) if it keeps him away from Goldberg that little bit longer, if he goes back to his 96/97 deal of making movies and only showing up on Nitro every 4 weeks or so it would be a huge help. Starrcade would include Goldberg/Sting, Hogan/Bret, Flair/Bischoff, Booker/Benoit, Giant/Rey (would have Rey win and play the clip for months since Giant's leaving) and Rey/Juvi vs. Eddie/Jericho, Not sure what to do with Nash, Hall, Konnan, Luger, DDP or Steiner but then again neither did WCW. This is so much easier if its before that crazy 6 weeks in the spring where they turn Hall, Bret, Giant and put Sting and Luger in the Wolfpac.
  4. Did any WCW midcarder have more contrasting fortunes under the different head bookers than Alex Wright? Flair - Pushed him huge and was planning to put him in the 4 Horsemen once it reformed. Sullivan - Had him doing nothing but jobs on TV for nearly 2 years. Taylor during Sullivan's 'vacation' - Put the Cruiserweight and TV Title on him and included him in that awesome short lived Debra stable with Jarrett and Eddie. Sullivan - Loses TV title to Disco, does nothing until Jarrett quits and they need a quick replacement for the Mongo feud. Russo - Booked him to lose on a PPV to Brad Armstrong in 1999, never used him once on TV during the New Blood angle.
  5. Unless it aired on Heat (which the UK didn't get then) I don't remember there being any angle, they just returned in a backstage segment on the RAW before Mania and attacked Patterson and Brisco for impersonating them in a handicap match with Shane.
  6. Legion of Doom still being on WWF TV in 99, they even had Ellering as their manager again.
  7. The OVW deep dive might be the best one yet, love hearing about the deals with the TV companies, sponsors and venues.
  8. Bix remembering the guy who won the Mania contest and the song he won it with is just awesome. When Stan Lane first debuted on Superstars Vince said something like "Jim Cornette, a gentleman you know very well" The Jimmy Del Ray deal on Challenge was something where Lane and DiBiase were united in their mutual disgust of his dancing which is maybe the only good thing to happen on Wrestling Challenge in 94. Not sure who was responsible for it but for a long period in 94 nearly all the big angles (Backlund turn, Fake Taker debut and Diesel IC win) happened on Superstars instead of Raw.
  9. Bagwell in 97 was really good and seemed to be getting pushed more until the Luger feud which did nothing for him even though he won most of the matches. Buff in the TV Title scene in 98 with Benoit/Finlay/Martel/Booker would have been fun stuff. WCWSN once teased a Giant/Rey vs. Norton/Buff match which would have been fun.
  10. Firing Hall is something I'm sure WCW would have loved to do but they felt they couldn't because of the WWF lawsuit. Hogan showing up in 99 WWF as a heel is HHH's worst nightmare.
  11. Best of luck, props on making the effort to pull this off.
  12. Nitro having higher ratings in the UK is something I'd mainly credit/blame to Worldwide being on Channel 5, also Nitro always started on time whereas with Raw you had a 50/50 chance at 10pm of seeing either Stone Cold or Eddie and Stevo on your TV.
  13. That Dudley Boyz promo with the Network version of Pulp Fiction playing is one of the worst things I've ever heard on BTS. I always thought Lawler was going for something like "they should have named her Target, because everyone in Atlanta had a shot at being the father" and messed it up.
  14. Been watching 96 Nitros. Savage being outsmarted and beatdown by the Horsemen and nWo for the whole year is something very few top names would let happen to them for fear of "looking weak" DiBiase backed nWo making entrances through the crowd and cutting promos there was awesome. Faces of Fear are so awesome and every match has Barb breaking out a big move that the crowd goes nuts for.
  15. The shows where he covers a particular week/month in depth are tremendous stuff, the one a few weeks back where he talks about SMW running spot shows and all the finances and logistics of them was awesome.
  16. Jamison on a Sean Mooney podcast putting over how great Ted DiBiase was is pure Parv bait.
  17. Amazing show, like others have said because of you guys putting him over I decided to actually watch his stuff and because of it gained a new appreciation and respect for just how awesome Bruno was.
  18. Stopped listening months back but does Tony still pitch for a gig on the WWE Network?
  19. I went into this fully expecting bad wrestling, no angles, no competitive matches and no promos(since the local ones aren't in) and I was watching to hear the Joe McHugh intros and early Vince on commentary so the amount of competitive matches is a welcome surprise.
  20. Rocca is just amazing on commentary, everytime Vince throws to him I pop. The McGraw/Von Erich vs. Cerdan/Parisi match on the 75 show is so fun with Albano and Blassie bumping around and Andre as the backup for the Faces rules. That Ernie Ladd handicap match on the 1st 76 show is amazing for the irish whip spot and the look of disgust Ernie shows before deciding to do it again.
  21. Corrected your typo for you Parv. You’re putting a lot of stock in him feeding that taco to Lord Al. Feeding Lord Al > Having your fake title stolen by Jamison
  22. Corrected your typo for you Parv.
  23. This DVD is amazing, Sean Mooney has fantastic chemistry with Charly and I love the Idea of Sean Mooney living in the WWE Warehouse watching old Wrestling footage. Love how the crowd just shits on the Turtles in their tryout match.
  24. This is a great piece of business Randy talks to Vince about how his dream was to three-peat as WWF Champion and defend the title at Madison Square Garden and Crush took it away from him and took away his dignity, he can't achieve his dream now because he doesn't have the time to get Tunney to give that shot but he's ok with it, he trusted a friend once before and regretted it and Crush knows exactly how tough Randy's last 18 month have been, he even mentions the divorce for the 1st time on WWF TV. He rose to the occasion against Yokozuna on RAW and he knows he had him beat, he might not ever get another shot at the WWF Championship but he can go to Wrestlemania X and beat Crush and be "who I am and all that I am" This is so great with Randy putting over how much the WWF Championship still means to him and talking about his troubles in his personal life, also has this great quote "At the risk of sounding egotistical or conceited I would have gone on to Wrestlemania X and I would have beat Bret Hart and I would have beat Lex Luger in the same night"
  25. For two guys 3 months in to their careers this is really fun stuff, Spanky shows much personality here and Dragon has such a nice crispness to all his moves.
